so i'm apparently able to run VRChat on my laptop. might test to see if i can run it on the computer.

anyways, this is for discussing vrchat. y'know. the usual. any surreal experiences, stories, shenanigans or just cool worlds that you like can go here.

Do you have a smartphone? They sell VR headsets for $5-$10 that you stick your phone inside.

It works surprisingly well. (It's also not particularly difficult to program for!) But VRChat is on Steam, so it's not available for smartphones. AltspaceVR on the other hand is available.

There's technically an app you can get that lets a smartphone VR headset act as a SteamVR headset, but I don't recommend using it for any high-movement games because the latency will make you nauseous. Might work for VRChat, I guess.

I'm crossing my fingers that I can get a Rift S for my birthday this year.

Edit: ... oooooh, I just realized, I should really try throwing my water effect demo into a VR headset once I get the bugs worked out, that might be cool.

you don't need VR to mess around in the game.

iirc, i think you do need VR to build things in Anyland, but otherwise, you can mess about in there.

What's going on in VRChat these days? Are there any decent new games on the platform beside the usual memery?

not really, there's avalanche, a hide and seek game and a murder mystery game, from what i know.

there's also the sort of games that you get in showcases on roblox. that sort of thing, hangouts and such.

i don't play it that often.
