XD Barbie customization is actually a very popular hobby, Law. But the dolls Den and I have right now in the barbie size which are customized, mostly, are little Japanese dolls that are sold blank, and which have a lot of joints. Den might have some former barbies too. lol I can't remember right now.

Speaking of dolls... I just brought home a new one today. Little bunny made of wooden spools and beads and coarse twine.

Dolls for horses? Do you mean the little jointed ones that they made to ride on Breyer horses? And awww. Little Miss NoName.

I...don't think I have any Barbies anymore... I'd have to check. but yes, most of my dollkids who aren't Transformers are Obitsus.

Oh, so it is like a friend of mine's job - she paints and styles dolls for folk. (Dollgirls - there will be Jellyfish and Eggs)

I like the Snow White Evil Dead...the Four Armed with extra arms hanging off the hips...Oh! Freddy Barbie Kruger.

And possibly - my grandmother was somewhat focused on getting mom to like things like Barbie as role models, but mom hated them. Mom loves horses and animals, so the compromise was mom got dolls oriented around that.

Some people make a mint customizing dolls. Especially those big fashion dolls.

Ohhh. Sounds like your mom is kinda like me in anti barbie sentiment. I have an army of Transformers, a herd of toy ponies, a couple monsters, customized Obitsus (one of which is a female Wolverine), and any little fat or weird looking kid that catches my heart. Including a stuffed piggy with a vinyl head. And I've got a pony head that I cut off and plan to give a soft body.
