the US' system is such a mess. People shouldn't have to set up a gofundme page just to be able to pay their medical bills.

Yup. Like... Before my parents took $300 of my tax return, I was planning on using it to pay for an eye exam and new glasses, because new glasses are expensive without insurance. but I can't afford insurance currently.
