He then pointed up to the room where Melody was left alone, "And she will only be thrown further into despair because you killed the man who owns her. His boss will only shovel her off to someone else, perhaps someone who could care less what happens to her behind the door, or even beat her to death himself."

He let out an aggravated sigh, pinching the bridge of his nose, "You need to learn to just care about your family, not these...faceless strangers! Their lives have no impact on yours and yours should have no impact on them! That's how the world is."

Melody skittered over to the window, watching with big eyes as she saw the two on the street.
