it's a contest. there's four "coaches" who are kinda like judges but not...they're all competing to find and produce the next big singer. so they pick people for their teams but can't see the singers until they commit to picking them. they coach their team and make them awesome, but then have cut people off the team. it's a pretty different concept from any of the other singing shows I've ever heard of.
Adam Levine from Maroon 5, Cee Lo, Christina Aguilera, and Blake Shelton are the coaches.
