Day 1
I had signed up to volunteer at Glitch's farm like the summer before, and just like last year I wasn't expecting anything strange. Of course I should've known better. But little could have prepared me for the sight I faced at my arrival. Another volunteer farmer was arguing with someone who appeared to be a cow on two legs. "No! You can't work here! Just because you're wearing an ill-fitted school uniform does not make you a student."
"Ill-fitted?? My clothes are perfectly in line with the regulations, thank you very much. And besides I probably know a lot more about cows than you do."
The cow had a deep alto voice that would certainly sound melodic if it wasn't dripping with anger right now.
"Yeah, because you ARE a cow! So shut up and let me milk you!"
I decided to step in. "Is there a problem?"
"Stubborn cow doesn't want me to look after her", the volunteer said.
"I'm a student volunteer and that guy treats me like cattle", the cow replied at the same time.
Thus I offered my help. "Maybe I can milk her for you?"
The volunteer's face brightened. "Sure! I'm glad to get rid of that crazy thing!" He stomped away, and the cow glared at me.
"I will not let you-"
"Pshaw", I said with a smile. "That just was the fastest way to get rid of him. Now what's your name, student?"
