not a clue on running the older games.

Linux comes in a number of flavors: Fedora, Red Hat (a flavor of Fedora), Ubuntu, Kubuntu (a flavor of Ubuntu), Debian, openSUSE, Gentoo... and most of them are free. the computer i'm using used to be WinXP.
