Yeah, Legend of Korra is like... the time jump sequel. If you don't watch Avatar, I think you'd be pretty lost. AoK is real reference heavy.

*I* think it is so worth it! It's only 3 seasons, with 20ish 30 min episodes each. I watched (averaged)3-4 eps each night with dinner and got through it in like, a week or so? It's got some magical moments threaded all through it.

I am not completely sold on LoK (only 11ish episodes, they are all slated to be really short seasons, but at least 4-5 of them when the show ends), but I tend to be really biased when it comes to sequels. My boyfriend really enjoyed it, and a lot of my friends do as well.
