Background

In the desolate town of Daemon Vicus, it’s said that by taking a small hidden dirt path from somewhere in Davidson Street, you will eventually come to an old decaying graveyard, which surrounds a large hill. At the top of the hill lays a mansion lying in ruins vines running over the walls, doors and windows. This mansion is said to have an evil aura and a dark almost blood thirsty past, being soaked in the blood of its former owners supposed victims. The once quiet town would only have perhaps five deaths per year however, that changed when a man by the name of Malikai Minestrome, the death toll kept rising as the years went by but as suddenly as the toll had rose it returned to how it once was. It is unknown why this happened just that one night the lights within the mansion shut off and never again turned on. Years later the Local Authorities went to the mansion to find out what had happened but they found the mansion deadly silent.

Continued investigation brought to light the mansions deadly secret and so solved years worth of missing persons and unexplained murders, but even after months of searching the mansion from wall to wall and attic to ceiling Malikai was nowhere to be found and there was no sign to say where he may have ran to. Rumours started circling amongst the teens of the small town saying that he was in fact a demon that had been despatched from hell for betraying the devil and so was sent to the mortal plane to till he gained enough souls to return home. The rest of the community believed it was a man who had gone mad trying to play the role of god, plagued by failure he couldn’t take it anymore so went to the graveyard and took his own life. In truth, no one really knows what happened within the mansion to the victims or to Malikai, all anyone knows and agrees is that going to that place is taboo by everyone in the town. There have been some that have been brave enough to attempt to stay in the mansion of the damned but all that have dared to tempt fate have never been heard from again..

Darkness had fallen once again upon the small town of Daemon Vicus, at the bottom of the tabooed hill at the entrance to the graveyard. Completely isolated and cut off from the rest of the small town in Kansas was now bustling with life with Fraternities, Sororities and those hoping to join them in a single giant party for the first time in the history of Alantha collage. It wasn�t just to get new members but to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the sudden drop in the yearly death toll within the tight knit community. As a male in a gamma, zeta, pi shirt moved to be stood in front of the gates of the graveyard a mic in hand the crowed grew silent as the music stopped an eerie silence be fell the party. Once it was silent, the man moves the mic to his mouth and starts to speak...

�Attention please! Hello and welcome to the Alantha collage day of the dead. It was on this day forty years ago that the horrors within the Minestrome mansion came to light and so it is on this day we have decided to do pledge week, however, we decided that we would do it a little differently this year. As we can imagine all of you not wearing shirts of a Sorority or fraternity want to be one of the Alantha elite and so we are going give you all this chance, which will, instantly allow you to become a pledge of whichever house you want. The task we ask is simple for such a great prize.... Malikai Minestrome was the master of the mansion and was known as a collector of rare artifacts that apparently where mystical, the first part of the challenge is to gain one of these items and bring it back to the house leader of the house you want to join. Those who may not be so aware it�s said that Malikai Minestrome killed thousands of people and his victims were buried in the graveyard behind me. Many people have came here over the last forty years some were thrill seekers others looking for paranormal activity yet they never to be heard from again; so the second task we as house leaders are putting to you is to spend this weekend inside the infamous Minestrome Mansion. We won�t think any less of you but if you are scared don�t waste our time and head back to collage now. Those who can complete both tasks we have asked will gain the prize.�

Several potential pledges accepting the challenge are blindfolded and lead through the graveyard and up the hill to the door of the dilapidated mansion. The darkness is now lifted from the eyes a feeling of dread now fills each person, and with everyone now ready to take their chances within the house of the dead... The nights of horror now begin...
