Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy 13 (FF13-3)
 

At least they are wrapping up the Final Fantasy 13 universe with this game. But bear with me when I say this will probably be the best game out of the Trilogy. Why? Well for starters you are only playing as Lightning, there will be a 13 day clock down to the end of the world (A reminiscent of The Legend of Zelda: Majoras Mask), you will be able to jump, climb, roll, ect with Lightning. The armor/weapons you buy for Lightning will change her in game appearance. Oh and Lightning is in a new world called Novus Partus that has a gothic, mechanical and fantasy look to it.

I was sold at Dooms day clock, having to spend time to fix past mistakes and come back alive? A monorail system that is on it's own time, just... Awesome.

I really hope this game will be have gameplay similar to Kingdom Hearts/Versus. The gameplay engine will be an updated version, so it might be similar to the gameplay in the FF13-2 Lightning DLC (And let me tell you that fighting as Lightning in that DLC is so much fun! Sadly there was only 1 battle, and then the DLC was over.)

So is anyone else excited or sold on the game? Or have you given up on the game? I bought 13-2 so I think I might as well finish up the Trilogy with Lightning Returns.

Not really excited for this. I'll pick it up, but I feel Square is milking Lightning too much. She has single handedly become the new face for Final Fantasy, and that I can respect. But I think Square should focus on it's priorities first.

I prefer Noctis as a face.. Now.. WHERES MY FF VERSUS NEWS!?
Seriously I want Versus more then a HD FF7 remake....

I must say out of all The ff7 Characters i was fond of Fang, And Vincent Valentine the most. Not because of there power, Because of there Story, Attitudes and looks.

i really have no favorite characters in the ff universe... i do like the games alot mainly for their amazing story and graphics that make the characters pop alot more in their cutscenes... i already have ff 13 and 13-2 so most likely gonna get this next one since when i get started on a series i usually buy them all lol

I'm the same, if I started something I might as well finish it. Besides the games are fun, I'm already planning on Replying 13 and 13-2 sometime before Lightning Returns comes out.

Ok yes the story and the alternate endings did suck. (Each Alternate ending was supposed to have a DLC. That never happened.. >.>...) Heck I don't even consider them alternate endings! They should have been possible without having to beat the game once!
But you have to admit, the gameplay was fun as ever!

I'm really looking forward to this game too, and how it plays out..

i havent even played my copy of 13-2 yet i just recently like 2 months ago bought both 13 and 13-2 and also just started playing 13 like last week have so many games lol

2 playable characters isnt enough, and i only ever use the same 2 monsters :o

also, serah's character annoys me :s

THIS. I haven't finished all of them, but in the ones I have finished And they're SO. DIFFICULT. And tedious. Starting the world over and going through the storyline all over again? Not fun. Especially when you do it slightly wrong and end up having to start all over again. Again. -tableflip-

And I have to agree with what Ashy said. Serah's kind of annoying/a ditz =/

I like XIII-2 too XD I especially loved Mog. So cute. And chocobo races.

You only used 2 monsters??? o.e...
Monster making was the best feature in the game!

And I agree... Serah was rather eh.. She wasn't dull, but she wasn't exciting either... Both Serah and Noel needed stronger personalities, or something to love off of them.

I will probably buy it eventually.
But I am still stuck halfway through FF XIII, so it will take AGES for me to get to FF XIII-2...
