But are the Anka Eggs set to have two or so items each day, instead of actual randomness?

Its random.

20% chance i think it is for each.

I've gotten three of the same item in a row before.

Think someone's gotten the same item five times in a row. I just got lucky as hell this time.

It really is just random chance. People's idea of what comprises "random" is surprisingly NON-random. People expect there to be a regular distribution in short runs, but statistics dictate that runs of the same result are actually VERY likely if you look across many small samples.
