~Cupcake Crafts - How Much Would YOU Pay? ~

~ Cupcake Crafts! ~

This is where I'll be showing off posting my random craft projects as I finish them! <3

At the moment I'd love to hear input on them, and how much they might sell for. And yes, I am selling them. I needs money to live.

Hmmm, the necklaces are quite unique. The bracelet, however, looks like something that would be simple to make really. I would value that at probably only about $5, though the size is almost more "costume jewelry" than "every-day jewelry" for me.
Personally, the necklace pendants are too big for my taste, so I wouldn't actually buy them at all, but if I were to buy them, I'd probably pay $10-$15 max. (I don't know...it's hard for me to put a price on things that I wouldn't wear.) If they were a smaller size I'd buy them though.

Hmm... making smaller versions might not be a bad idea!
Thanks for the input~! <3

wonders how heavy the necklaces would be, some people can handle it more so than others
I'd look online to see if anyone else was making the product and if you can tell, if it was something that actually sold and the price they sell it for since those are based off of a show and game

hmm I'd more likely if at a store or some place that makes things for cosplay the bracelet $4-5 on Kyo bracelet, though, already has one
someone was selling it at a yardsale... (glass beads are neat for it and are very shiny)

hmm the necklaces if someone was cosplaying the larger sizes would be nice however I'd agree with Kaderin
I like things that are smaller, more for everyday item
also agrees on the prices for them

some people like things bulkier than others
like my sister she likes heavier and bulky jewelry while I go for small and dainty

they look awesome though, good luck with that

i don't suggest selling the pendants unless you are willing to pay royalty on them, otherwise you can get sued

CupcakeDolly 05-29-2012 02:50 PM

Thank you!

They're all made of fimo polymer, so they're pretty lightweight for how bulky they are. And they're not EXACTLY for cosplay, because obviously they don't look exactly like what they're based on. xD;; I figured putting them up next to anime and game pictures would draw fans' attention.

I am seriously planning on making smaller versions that are closer to the actual pictures for the necklaces, though.

Edit: Choco, go to Etsy and look up 'cosplay.' If people can get away with the things they're selling on there, I seriously doubt I'd be in any trouble. =P

Don't think American McGee has a trademark on a necklace, especially with such an easily recognized design. If that's the case, someone needs to get on Sony for using it in their God of War logos. And many other people.

No, I don't think the Copyright Knights will ride for this one. Keep at it Dolly.

Batty 05-29-2012 04:28 PM

Uh, actually, no.
She CAN'T be sued, Choco.

I've never seen one person, using sculpey/polymer clay to make Pokemon figures, or pokemon plushies, or any OTHER "copyrighted" thing sued for selling their goods to people. Ever.

If that was the case, I would have been sued by Atlus USA a long time ago. They're homemade crafts, nothing more. Now, if say, Trisphee released a pokeball, or some such other thing, AND IT WAS A DIRECT COPY, thats a different story.
