About the signature.
 

I tried to see what was the maximum size for them.
I did a picture map for my sign 500 per 400px. Hope it's alright because smaller we don't see a thing X/ .

I was wondering if it could be something we should put up for the new people that will come here when it opens.

Oh btw have you gotten original smilies for this forum? I might be able to come up with a few if you want ;). Since I don't have the time anymore to be a pixel artist, I could at least do a little thing to help if it's not already done :o .

The limit is 300x300. Kinda sucks, I wish it was wider.

... This isn't offtopic. D8 I am still talking about signatures!

Well right now there are a couple of reasons for the signature being so small.

1. Servers, we'd like to reduce the lag of loading pages by making sure we don't have to many large images.

2. Layout, we don't have our official layout up and to be honest 300x300 probably is a little small but we don't want to risk of anything stretching the pages when we get to them. Where as the forums layout size limit will be able to support a larger size we aren't quite sure how much more.

So until we are absolutely positive as to what those dimensions will be, as well as how well our servers could handle the maximum number of random pictures in signatures (alot of people use them after all) We would rather be safe than sorry. We would feel pretty silly if our servers failed due to the issue of images. We don't want our servers to fail what so ever, but that's not as to say that it won't happen. We aren't quite sure how many users it will handle etc.

As for smilies, there will be original ones, I just haven't had time to make them with everything else.

But once everything's up we might be allowed to at least have them a little bigger? As long as they are a little wider I'll have enough freedom. ^^

I see, Fenris. Sounds reasonable. Well, it's only a bit more of waiting, so you might have your bigger signatures soon, Senyoru. ^^
