Hey girls and guys
so yeah, big thing went on today that really just pissed another off, basic question for everyone, is there a way to recover pictures on a computer after you've done a destructive restore?
|
I'd like to say yes but it really depends on the restore. Deleted files can only be recovered if they have not been written over, and if it was a big restore I don't know about the chances of that... ><
I don't know exactly what to check but there should be some stuff if you search for "file recovery" on Google. Just be careful of anything insisting to be downloaded! |
ok, thank you
it was a PC recovery on an hp pavilion, all the things on the desktop was the same after that, and all the bookmarks could be recovered, not sure about pictures though :( |
I'm not sure if pictures can be. A way to check my be going to HP website and going to (if they have) a forum section where you can ask other HP users and see.
I haven't yet done this but, I bought an external hard drive for backing up files. I would suggest doing that. Its a way to have things backed up and you can take it to other computers. |
damn, the woman who owns the computer that had the destructive restore done to it, had a 900$ program on it, put on it by someone whos dead now...plus over 1 million recipes that she's saved for over 15 years...she is furious...it's kinda scary cause she is allowing me and my fiance to live here...with no rent or anything...just get our education and a job to get money to live on our own :( :( :(

Depends really.
I've done restores and the old stuff was in this weird folder like right next to the folder with all the factory settings. And did ya'll do the restore or her? If she did it, she's stupid. If ya'll did it, did she tell you about that program....and I bet she learned to back things up... |
well my fiance did it, but thats because she was told that it was all cool...but at first when she asked she thought it was the option to "go back in time" so all uninstalled programs were installed again
