CONGRATS NEW YORKERS! NYS signs same-sex marriage bill into law

Quote:

A bill permitting same-sex marriage was passed by the New York state legislature on June 24, 2011. The bill was signed by Governer Andrew Cuomo shortly before midnight on the 24th, and the law will take effect 30 days later.
Quote:

Senate approval was the final hurdle for the same-sex marriage legislation, which was approved last week by the Assembly. Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo signed the measure at 11:55 p.m., and the law will go into effect in 30 days, meaning that same-sex couples could begin marrying in New York by late July.

8DDD Congratulations to all the gay and lesbian couples in New York, who finally have the right to legalize their unions! A dear close friend of mine can finally marry his bf and I am beyond excited and happy for him ;u; <33
One more step in the fight!

*joins in the congratulations*

It's really great that there's another state who allows it now, a very big bravo to the judges etc who voted for it, they took the right decision ^^

So glad it passed~ Now to hope the idiots here in TN can do it.

I'm not gay or anything but I'm real happy for the change.
But seriously, the only people who are truly against this are what I call "Religious Bastards."
Just for clarification, I'm not calling anyone with a religion a bastard. Just those idiots who refuse human rights because it's against there beliefs.

I know, I'm from New York and when I saw that I was so happy and went "FINALLY! THANK YOU!!!" with the Hallelujah song in the mind playing. I was so excited that if I marry a girl I can get married in my home state :)
