Super Smash Bros for 3DS/Wii U

Well the game is out in the FREE WILLY wild.

Took 3 hours to unlock every character EXCEPT FOR ROB. Spent 3 hours trying to find a way to get him. WHY MUST YOU MAKE ME SUFFER SO!

The game seems very unbalanced. More so then any other smash games, a lot of characters are very underpowered while others are far too powerful and it's extremely easy to notice. Yoshi, Bowser, Bowser Jr, Rosalina, and Duck Hunt are OP beyond belief. While Palutena, Little Mac, and Charizard are probably the biggest weakest links I have ever seen in a Smash Bros game.
What seems worse is that Sakurai (developer of all the smash games) says he wants to keep the characters broken and unbalanced. So odds are that we won't see any sort of adjustments in the future.

The content is very extensive, 50+ characters. I still haven't played as every character yet. The roster is too damm huge but it's awesome having a huge selection, again I just wish they were more balanced.

This Smash Bros game feels like it's in between Brawl and Melee for competitive play. Everything change to this game seems to help competitive play, despite Sakurai wanting to keep this a casual fun game.
The controls hurt like hell after playing for a while (I never had my hands feel so numb blistering pain since Mario Party for the N64.

The 3DS version is great to take Smash Bros for you on the go, but my eyes are set out for the Wii U version. Where my hands won't crap out do to lousy controls for the game, and where the screen is big enough with enough HD glory for me to enjoy.

So Trisphee, any questions? Did you buy the game? Having fun? Wanna Smash together? xD

Not quite sure why you would say Little Mac is underpowered, and I'm surprised you didn't mention Villager.

Anyway, I think part of the reason Sakurai is okay with things being unbalanced (as long as everyone is at least playable) is that it means you can handicap players by playing stronger or weaker characters.

I'm enjoying myself. Mii Gunner is working really well for me -- plays pretty similarly to how I would have designed my own character.

Actually I changed my mind on Little Mac after spending more time on him, if I could call him anything it would be that he's a glass cannon. He's absolutely devastating on ground and can wipe the field with everyone. Competitive play-wise he's OP. But through any other game/story mode in Smash he's underpowered (which is what gave me that impression at first, until I began fighting online with him when playing on random.)

Villager is pretty balanced, but his pocket ability broken if trained/time properly. (He's able to pocket some character's final smash, ridiculous!)I don't have to much of a problem with him, easy to understand, has multiple of good moves across both competitive and casual play.

And I've been hearing a lot of positive things about the gunner class, and a lot of people are enjoying melee as well. I haven't heard much about swordsmanship though.

Mii Swordsman suffers from a lack of powerful smashes. In that respect it's sort of like Meta Knight with less recovery.

Even if he isn't good, I love customizing sword users and giving them ridiculous amount of defense and attack. xD

Coda what characters are your favorite right now to main as?
So far my list goes:
Shulk <--- The love of my smashing life right now.
Ness
Greninja
Bowser
and Rosalina.

Coda 10-05-2014 02:25 PM

Mega Man is my go-to character right now. If I have difficulty completing something, out comes Mega Man.

Mii Gunner is my second-place. I play him more often than I do Mega Man because I'm trying to practice, and the way I have mine customized feels pretty good to me.

Of the new characters, I think Pac-Man comes next on my list. He's silly but fun, and surprisingly more effective than I was expecting.

Donkey Kong and Kirby are longtime staples for me. I haven't played them as much in SSB4 (although DK was how I did all of the Multi-Man Smash challenges) but they still feel pretty good.

I used to run Luigi and Jigglypuff a lot, but I haven't unlocked Jigglypuff yet and I've only used Luigi a little bit. Given more time, I'm sure I'll play them both more. Ness and Samus similarly, but less so.

Just started playing around with Mii Gunner and Fighter.. My gunner is Iron Man (literally) and fighter is Tony Stark. Because. DEAL WITH IT.
Gunner is actually a really good class/character, along with melee fighting. I just wish I can play custom online to show off some of my ridiculous characters xD

Dr. Zoidberg who wears a evil lord costume and is a fighter.
Slenderman as a Fighter
Midna as a gunner
Spongebob as a melee fighter. xD

List goes on.

Just had a awesome moment in smash tonight with my friends xD
We were playing a match and I used a Mii Fighter based off of Meg from Family Guy. I won the match and text all my friends who were playing;
"You just lost to Meg. SHAME."
Then they replied:
"Shut up Meg."

My wife (Immamoonkin) is holding a Smash contest!

You can post bets and requests here too, and I'll transmit them.

Oh, it looks like Mewtwo just got confirmed. By owning both the 3DS version and Wii U version you get him free when he's released as DLC in Spring.

EXCITEMENT!

Whoot mew two making a come back. I enjoy the 3ds game

Illusion 11-05-2014 12:24 AM

Two Smash Bro games go round the outside, round the outside, round the outside....

Guess who's back back back, back again.
Mewtwo's back, tell a friend.
Guess who's back, guess who's back, guess who's back. BACK BACK BACK. ......NANANANA NA!

hyjin 11-05-2014 10:44 AM

He's back already?

Alpha 11-05-2014 11:18 AM

Yep. I'm hoping it'll still be possible to get him without getting both versions of the game since I don't have nor am I planning on getting a Wii U.

On how they worded it they said that "Mewtwo's free with the purchase and registration of both Super Smash Bros games" Free as in he would be originally be up for purchase if not for the reason before it. Hence, Mewtwo will be paid DLC content unless you have registered both games.

Ah, okay. Thanks Illu. Well, tad disheartening, but I may eventually break down and get him. Maybe once there's a few other fighters and they bundle them.
