My friend needs help.

Below is from my best friend's tumblr, and he asked me to post it here as well. Long story short, he is in a really bad place and lives with an abusive father and NEEDS to move out within TWO MONTHS, but can't come close to affording it.

I am done playing the victim that my father has made me into, so I am asking for your help. I need to move out as soon as I possibly can. For some of you reading this, you already know the story I am about to tell you, others this will be the first time I will be letting you know just how bad things are for me.

I have grown up in a house hold with a father who is mentally abusive. You wouldn’t know it by just having a conversation with him, but in the following accounts you will see what I have had to endure for years. All of which he was sober and not under the influence of any drugs.

Things didn’t get bad until I had a way to find freedom. The Jeep that was acquired for me, without my knowledge or asking, became my escape and just another way for my dad to prove how controlling he is. It gradually got worse as I got older, more noticeable, more in my face. He’ll scream at me for coming home by curfew, yes I still have a curfew at 23, because he’s more concerned about the finical repercussions if I were to crash the Jeep. Which happened twice in this past week alone.

He’s a hot head that will scream at me for things that just need to be talked about in a civil manner, however, a month ago he crossed a line. I needed to use the bathroom, he wouldn’t let me use it unless I kissed his cheek. Then as I walked by him he smacked my ass.

A week later he asked to buy my dog off of me in the middle of us arguing over thanksgiving and how I wasn’t home to be with family. Because he realized that he didn’t have complete control over everything in the house, he never will have control over Cole.

Once in a middle of him screaming at me, he took me by my shoulders and shook me. Over spilled cat little in the back of my Jeep.

Now I cannot go anywhere but to work because I have “used up all my chances” to show responsibility. Even though I call, they know where I am, who I am with, etc.

I live in a cycle of abuse. Things will be okay for a while and we will feel like a family, but I always walk on egg shells unsure of when he will freak out next.

I have a couple of roommates lined up for March. However, I need help. I need help so I can get my own car. I cannot save enough for moving out and a car come March, but I need to be out in two months. I need to be out as soon as I can. Living here is suffocating me. Any help you can give is appreciated, even if it’s just passing this along to someone else.

even if he is not religious there are plenty of religious organizations that would help out if none of his friends or family will let him use their couches but i am not sure if asking strangers for handouts online is a great idea

Even around here, in my small area, churches will help people like him, though they probably wouldn't help with a car, they'd help with a place to live at least. (In this area)

And he could get his father for sexual harrassment if he wanted to cause that's a bit...creepy.

He has friends that will let him stay the night or whatever, but only temporarily. As for the church idea, I'll have to let him know about that. I had no idea that churches could help with such matters.

And I kind of always knew his father was a creep. I've heard bad things about him from my friend, but it's only recently that he's crossed the line. If it gets much worse, he may have to press charges.

Well, he might need to call on those friends. He may need to be out by the beginning? or March (it seems that way) but maybe the church can't help him really until say, the fifth.

But I hope he finds somewhere soon. Like before March if possible...cause that's too creepy for me here.

I know he has stayed at friends' places a few times. But obviously something permanent asap would be best ...

I wish I had some money to donate to help him out. Do tell him though that he is not alone and a lot of people know the pain he feels, which in a way should be a relief. He should seek out local charity groups in his area and see if anyone is willing to help him. also if you want to give me the link to the actual tumblr post I will reblog it I have a decent following in there.

I'll donate the next time I get paid, it won't be much since I am a struggling single parent but I hope it helps even a tiny bit.
Noone should be mentally abused like that.
