Would you care for a 1v1 with me? (Major edit.)

I'm not joining group roleplays, as I have trouble keeping up with them. However, I love 1v1 roleplays and I have three years of experience.

I consider myself semi-literate. My post length depends on how much I've had to work with, and my posting frequency is at least once a week (don't complain, you have a life, and so do I). I tolerate short posts and small errors in grammar and spelling, because I have RPed with talented people who do not speak English as a native language, and my English isn't very good either. I like to develop characters along the course of the roleplay, so I do not demand character profiles. Just an idea of the character is good; I like having small surprises. And NO MARY SUES, godmodding, autohitting, powerplaying, or any other violations of general roleplay rules. I do like to develop the plot concepts before beginning, so I expect a long discussion on plot, and continuation of it while roleplaying. In other words, you must be always open to discuss the plot because that will happen a lot, rping with me.

I roleplay mainly girls and the occasional guy. I am willing to explore hetero relationships and maybe yuri/lesbian ones; I don't like yaoi. I like ORIGINAL characters, so even if we're RPing a fandom, let's make our own fan characters. I like having romance AND action; they are very important to me as a roleplayer. You do not have to be an artist, but that would be wonderful if we can draw our characters together! Also, please notify me if you don't find interest in our rp. I don't like it when rps get ditched without any notice, and I'm willing to give an rp two weeks before I think it dead. I roleplay only in private threads, PMs are hard to keep track of and remember to reply to.

Here are the things I want to roleplay:
Sword Art Online (with own original characters)
--SAO Arc
-- Alfheim Online Arc

Doctor Who (with own original characters)
--I watch it all over the place; please mention an episode's content because I haven't watched a lot yet.
--Something based off of Torchwood, or some kind of Time agency.

Other Ideas/Preferred Genres
-- Super "heroes" gang war
-- Pirates (One Piece inspired)
-- Quest/journey
-- Supernatural agency/organizations (one to protect creatures, the other to destroy them)
-- School based romance
-- Stranded on an island
-- Spirits in the everyday world
-- Using a game as a cover to fight crime
-- Transported into a parallel anime-styled fantasy world
-- Anything inspired by the Tales series (haven't played the games, but the plots are awesome! it looks like science fantasy sometimes)
-- Allegorical fantasy (with symbolism and stuff)
-- Science and magic existing side by side (not necessarily steampunk)

Please share your ideas, I'd love to hear them as I cannot think of everything. I might see something I like. Fire away.

Here here ~ xD. Sounds like my type of rp partner xD ~ *flops in* <3

I'm going to be blunt with my main concern: god-modding and Mary/Gary Sue. I don't really tolerate those unless we have a mutual agreement after hitting a block and need 'it' to help move things along.

I am not that bad Kami. ~pouts~

That is my main concern too. I cannot tolerate that at all (I flame this all the time with my friends), even if it is "needed". I suppose timeskips in difficult situations would be god modding/deus ex machina, but that's the only one I'd reluctantly settle for.

Kaguya 11-19-2012 06:49 AM

I tend not to time skip but I do take reaction time, but auto hits normally I like being asked before it happen.

Tears 11-19-2012 06:58 AM

Reaction time is pretty important, yup. Though since I normally RP with someone whom I discuss things with before anyone posts, we often auto hit each others' characters. Only happens then, other wise, I always have this or that character pausing just before the blow or something.

Kaguya 11-19-2012 07:07 AM

I'm the same way with a few of my rp buddies, I think the only one I don't care with is Kami because she'll message me telling me she's going to hit and I do the same back.

Dawn 11-19-2012 07:53 AM

I usually ask before I'm going to do something major like hurting another character, etc.. If it's something minor like a punch, etc.. I might not ask.. I am still very old school in my ways of thinking but I am learning the new ways that people rpg now since I did leave the rpg scene for like.. ten years..

Not too sure how comfortable I would be with a 1x1.. I rarely do them through I have had people ask me to consider doing them.. I tend to enjoy action more myself and like you, I love developing my characters through the story than having everything in the skeleton..

lulz xD. I wasn't talking about you. It's just from my experience from Gaia rp's. There is always at least one godmodder or Mary/Gary Sue....*shudders* eAe. They're like a plague there. You can't escape them no matter how hard you try.

Kaguya 11-19-2012 10:37 AM

~becomes a god modding mary sue and stalks kami~

Kamikaze Chinchilla 11-19-2012 11:52 AM

Ono *gets a rifle* Stay away, or I'll shoot you! D8!

-just stalks from her shadows-

Rifles? Tsk, tsk.. that's no fun, Kami.

Natsunaine 11-19-2012 05:51 PM

Insanity has clearly infested this thread..

Usually when it comes to attacks and hits, If its within the reaction time to block i try to attack like so..

Ex.
After a deep breathe to calm his nerves at the sight of his opponents Sword. Seth drew from his wrist a lone dagger without thinking the man charged at the other with incredible speed swiping upwards starting at the others hip and ending below the left breast, If the attack were to Hit completely the dagger would cut open the others stomach causing great amounts of external and Internal bleeding, If the attack where to be deflected or dodged Seth would then jump backwards and prepare for the counter strike

That leaves it open to be dodge, but also shows what would happen if they were to get hit by the attack.

Tears 11-20-2012 05:13 AM

LOL. I might as well have made a "Reaction time?" thread. XD

Kamikaze Chinchilla 11-21-2012 11:34 AM

Perhaps I can throw the idea of having a slow-moving group rp (eg current poster lists the expected main people to reply, so they have to wait for the main players and no one gets left behind).

That is my main beef with the group rp's on my schedule. One moment we have our rpc's standing inside a house by the ocean, and leaving that rp off for a few hours...then return to find that everyone's rpc's have already progressed several days in the story's time. It's a bummer to watch that happen.

Chloe 11-21-2012 11:49 AM

Aye, I can agree with you there, Kami. -btw this is Dawn by the way on her mule-

I don't mind a small closed group rpg.. like 3-5 people.. and I agree with you, Kami.. everyone should wait to let people catch up before progressing..
