Name: Evan Hansen
Age: 18 Race: human Abilities: alchemy, knowledge of kempo arts (poor fighter), bookworm Weapons: poisons or hand to hand mainly, can use a bow or short blades if needed. Short bio: His family has forced him into some of the top schools for the gifted in order to ensure that the family name is carried proudly once Evan was of age. Over the years he came to accept his fate to be locked away in some library reading book after book on medicines and potions. Though this would soon all come to a end, a upcoming festival had forced him to take on a role as a old aged warrior. The outfit was ready and the preparations were nearly complete, he had been reading history texts for the past month in preparation for this day, to play the part perfectly or to not bother. |
Name: Mizuki Kinsaki
Age: 20-25 (real age 200-250) Race: Light Elven Abilities: Healing, slight element control, herbal knowledge, hand to hand combat. Weapons: Staff for magic, daggers and herbs Short bio: At a young age Mizuki learned his magic. From there he learned how to control all of the muscles in his body. By a young age he had mastered the forest he lived in knowing it from the smallest leaf to each grain of sand though it was not enough so he trained. Now knowing hand to hand combat combined with his herbal knowledge as well as his magic Mizuki became a silent killer and the most wanted assassin in the region. Taking any job he could Mizuki lived good. |
"Evan!" Someone suddenly yelled out nearly causing Evan to drop the small stack of books he had been carrying. "Ever heard of knocking before you scream for someone? They don't have a cure all for heart attacks you know.." He said in a disapproved manner as a girl walked over to him that seemed to be about his age. She smiled before speaking up again ignoring his 'warning'. They have been looking for you, your suppose to be dressed and ready to go yet here you are with your nose in books again... how much can you learn about the plants that you don't already know?" She sighed before walking back towards the door before speaking once more. "just make sure your there, this is a class project remember? I know you don't care about the play but at least try to act like you care enough to be there for your role."
After she was gone he sighed heavily putting a few of the books back on the shelf. "I do care, this makes or breaks my grade..." he complained a little before putting the last few books away and leaving the library. He had plenty of time or so he thought to get ready and go over his lines, though they were few in number. He was to be dressed and play the part of the forces that went against the rebels back in the day. The force that lost as far as the end of the war was concerned. But either way it was still a honor to get to play such a role. He often read the history books in the library and he had to admit even though he hated performing... he was excited to get to be in the spot lite and spar 'fight' to make the role really stand out. One of his close friends was playing the rebel faction leader and that would be the ending scene of the play, the final battle. Little did he know he would not get to play out this battle so soon... oh no first he was in for much more then he signed up for. Seeing as he had time to kill after getting dressed into the outfit to match what they wore back in the day he figured it was a good enough idea to send a few prayers to his elders. He would need all or any luck he could get to keep from freezing on stage and to keep a good enough grade to get into the college he wanted to get into so badly. The college that would allow him to carry on his families name and make his late father proud. It would ease his mother's worry and he could finally say all of his hard work had paid off. |
"Sir the forces from the south are in motion" A female voice said from his right made his long pointed ear twitch casing some long silky white strands to fall into his face "Deploy units one and two...." He said lightly "Three will stay with me..." At that Mizuki turned to look at the female that had spoken. She was tall and lean with midnight blue hair falling down silver and blue scaled body. Long tail thrashed behind her as folded wings twitched on her back "Something feels off..." Mizuki said with a little frown "Luna...go" He said and she gave a nod of head the dragonness leaving sight.
Mizuki turned and looked at the three men standing behind him "We have a job tonight men" He spoke the three of them "Leading the patrol tonight is the head officer of the leading army" He stated "His head is mine" He spoke once more before turning "Head out!" He said again as he bounded into the trees. His long white braid bounded on his back as he ran jumping over fallen logs and large stones. Knowing the forest like the back of his hand he took a leap off of the fast approaching cliff. Falling through the air he grabbed hold of the top of a young tree its bend allowing him to land on the branch of a larger one farther down the cliff. From there he bounded to another tree then another till he hunched crouched over peering at a long dirt road with the leaves of the tree making none the wiser. Sitting there he took out two long daggers the end dipped in herbs to posion but not kill. Mizuki wanted to have some fun with the general of this army. Hunched he waited. Dressed in black and dark purple he blended with the shadows. Tucking his hair in he pulled the hood up and over his head covering his pale skin and white locks the only color was the soft glow of the crystal that hand from his neck giving an eery view of the barely there smile. |
Going over a few notes on the sheet he was handed to the last minute changes to the play he sighed a little. He was waiting for a certain sign in the lights to let him know that he was due on soon. But instead of getting the sign that he wanted the lighting in the area surrounding the small shrine he had ended up near seemed to flicker a little. The play was being hosted outside so he just figured the wind or something, hardly paying it much mind at all.
Shaking his head that he was just seeing things he let out another heavy sigh before kneeling before the stone statue and muttering a few words under his breath. Mostly asking for some luck to not mess this up. He had been preparing for a while for this part, in order to avoid wearing a damned wig he had even bothered to grow out his hair just long enough to pull it back into a pony tail. The only thing he didn't do was go with the idea of contacts, the lead of the play begged him to do it... but contacts never did agree with him and he wasn't about to try to get up on stage and deal with them. He was about to get up and leave where he was having noticed that it was nearly time for him to go play his little role when a storm seemed to rip through the sky just over head. It was a freak storm and it seemed almost abnormal as he winced a little from the biting wind and sudden crack overhead. About that time he went to turn around to see if they were still going on with the play. But upon doing so all he could do was stand there and blink at what he was looking at. Taking his glasses off for a moment he glared at them before putting them back on. "what... uh.. " He glanced back at the shire he was still near, the only thing that looked off about it was the stone seemed less weathered. Maybe he was just seeing things sure he had been in a small grove.. though that grove looked like it was more of a full fledged forest now. He shook his head a little and went about to walking in the direction of where the play should have been. Though now that would just be a small clearing in the tree. "I'm just over thinking it ... stressed myself out is all." He muttered under his breath, to admit it he was a bit concerned. What had happened even? That storm was gone just as quickly as it had appeared, things seemed different now and here he was in a forest walking around in the colors and dress of the army that opposed the rebels. Not that his first thoughts were of when he was... Oh no he had no idea what he was about to walk right into, all of his books on history he adored so much were about to be proven wrong and why the rebel force won was about to be explained. |
Mizuki sat hunched where is was nothing to show of his rebel desent ofther then the patch on his upper arms composed of three striped and the rebels colors; Green, brown and blue. Mizuki was ready to give up. It would seem that the leader of the rebel army would not be heading this way. He growled to himself his ears flattening to his head as he thought of the man that lied to him. He would need to have a visit with some one.
Just as he was about to turn and leap to the next tree to leave a noise caught his attention. Looking down the road Mizuki gave a little smile as he watched the male walk down the dirt road. Looking him over Mizukis smile soon faded as he noticed the colors and garb of the amry. With a stern face Mizuki waited for the male to get a little closer when he did he silently dropped down on nothing but clothe clad feet. Crouching in the bushes he waited the male was so close he could reach out and touch him...but still Mizuki waited. He thought he would have a little fun since the real prize was not coming. As the male walked past the bush Mizuki kept low and silent as he left the confines of it to join the male on the dirt road. From there he fallowed him silently down the road. Watching the males body language before him he could tell that within no time at all the male would turn with the feeling of something behind him. So Mizuki stopped walking and waited a moment. Just then Mizuki tilted his head his cloak falling to cover everything but his lips and played with a dagger, twirling the toxined tip into his finger. Mizuki then watched as the male before him stopped before slowly turning his head, eyes landing on Mizuki for the first time "...I think this is the part...where you scream" That was the only warning he gave before he charged at the army scum before him. |
Sure as he walked he knew something was wrong, if the one following him had been watching his body language then it was probably easy to tell that confused was one of the thoughts going through Evan's mind. He never spoke a word as he walked, maybe he had taken a wrong turn somewhere? or the shrine was further away then he first thought? None of this was adding up he kept swearing he saw plants that no longer grew in this area but that was impossible... right?
On top of his being lost and confused he felt like he was being followed. As if this couldn't get worse. Here he was in the middle of the forest no idea where he was and all he had on his was some random outfit and a bag that was carrying his other clothes and a book or two from his classes. He kept trying to tell himself to calm down and that he wasn't lost he would end up on a main road sooner or later. Though these thoughts were quickly dismissed as he stopped again and caught sight of someone near him. He never got a chance to ask the person for directions like his plan was before the stranger spoke very oddly and seemed to launch a attack towards him. Now he felt like he had watched too many movies or something, this couldn't be happening. What the hell was he suppose to do, sure he could try disarming the man that was aiming the blade towards him but if this so called stranger was on any type of drug that was asking for further trouble. Drugs were a issue as far as them being abused, people could gain abnormal power and see things that weren't real. Had he taken something or was slipped something? His head was half in a panic state for a few seconds before he calmed himself and tried to think of what to do, he couldn't run he had hesitated too long for that. Sure he could comply and scream but what good would it do when he seemed to be alone out here aside from this crazy lunatic. Instead he drew back on some of his training that he wasn't good or fond of using. Waiting till the last moment he dropped to the ground as soon as the one assaulting him swung the blade out to strike. This wasn't a good spot to be in but if he could land one decent kick from this angle he could possibly get away and find somewhere safe to think over what in the world was going on here. In the same motion as he dropped to the ground he tried to land a kick aiming upward towards the mid-section of the being before him. 'Please hit please hit!' he frantically thought to himself as he prayed to any god listening that he was too young to die here. Sure he sucked at fighting but he had talent and skill, he just never had reasons to use them. |
Mizuki wanted to laugh at the males cheap counter attack. Who did he think he was? Surely the male before him would know who he was simply from the long braid hanging down his back. Unless it was a new recruit the army. If that was the case then Mizuki was going to make sure that he was going to stop the recruit from joining anything ever again.
Dropping the daggers on instict he redirected his hands to his midsection in time to catch the males foot before major impact had taken place "Nice try..." He said before spinning that foot causing the male to flip on his stomach. Instantly Mizuki moved grabbing an other dagger from his thigh he let the males foot go before grabbing a hand of dark hair. Yanking the males head back the blade met his throat. Cool steel licked the skin of the throat under him and Mizuki hunched over a little "Well well...." He said in a deep voice "What is it I have here" He said a little lower "Seems to me a new recruit dosent know his way around the forest" Mizuki said. There was silence a moment then Mizuki continued "Tell me army dog...wheres the general leader?" He spoke "Seems to me the patrol is a little late this evening" Mizuki then covered the males protesting mouth under him as some noises reached his ears. It was the galap of horses. Smirking Mizuki bent down a little "Seems to me...your job as the scout failed" With that and a hit to the back of the head the male was out and Mizuki smiled. Dragging the young man into the bushes he hunched and waited. Just then the horses rounded the corner and none other but the general leader was at the head of the line. Counting to three Mizuki jumped out of the bushes "NOW!!!" He screamed as he went now fallowed by other rebels that were hiding around the area. The fight was short. The general leader dead and his scoutsmen with him it was a good night. Just as they finished looting the men for everything of value Mizuki remembered the young male in the bushes. Ordering two man to grab him he gave the order of everyone back to camp. "What do you want with him?" Luna said looking over as they walked through darkened trees "He knows where the main army is..." Mizuki said looking over to her with a little tilt of his head "We just need to get it out of him" |
((Ignore i did it with this account been trying to earn some more Anka tokens lol...))
Normally such a shot wasn't deflected, but then again in the modern world it wasn't common to know such fighting styles or moves and be able to think to catch them in time. The fact that his best shot was just caught and deflected in the same swift movement caused him to be at a loss as to what to do next. He could hardly think as to what to do before the other male was on top of him with a blade to his neck. This was it wasn't it? Forget going to college to make his family proud and to follow in his fathers footsteps, he was going to die right here to some crazy who was spouting out things that made no sense. He tried to protest to the one holding him hostage at the moment saying he wasn't a recruit and he had no idea what he was talking about. Though he quickly shut his mouth feeling the blade press a little harder against his bare neck. This really was it wasn't it? The only thing that he had found lucky so far was he still had his glasses on, so at the least he could see around him. Not that it did any good... Though his thoughts died as he heard the sounds of horses not too far from here and the other seemed to catch this noise as well. Evan didn't get a chance to try and get away or to continue to protest that he was no scout and to let him go, not before the one that had him pinned quickly struck Evan and causing him to black out for the time being. Was this the fate the gods had planned for him... to die at the hands of some crazy man in rebel colors? Or at least due to the play and the study on history he had been doing recently that was the first thing that came to mind. He could hear fighting in the distance but his eyes refused to open and his body refused to listen to his command to it to get up and run while he could. No he was as good as dead as he lay there. Though it seemed once the fighting was over he was not forgotten about. Someone else seemed to grab him and he heard some chatter once more. Why couldn't they just have forgotten about him? Couldn't he get a break of any kind instead of whatever curse that had befallen him. The last few sentences seem to stick out more then the rest as whoever had him was dragging him to wherever they pleased. What were these people going on about... main army? Why would a high-school student know about a main army. On that note why would there be a group of people who were going around killing others and attacking random folk? He was more then confused and his head felt like it was splitting as he kept fading in and out of hearing what was being spoken and not. |
By the time the camp had settled and everything was calm Mizuki finaly remembered about the young man from earlier. Sighing he cracked his neck before heading out of his tent. Walking through the camp Mizuki checked on different things before he finaly reached where he was going, the hostage tent. Standing there he looked to the gaurds "Hows the evening boys?" He asked looking at the two males standing there.
The one on the right shrugged "Eh its a good night, young lad in there hasent said a word yet" That is when the one to the left spoke "Though hes young to be part of the army" Mizuki shook his head "Dosent matter you know what we stand for" He said before looking at them "He knew what he was getting into the moment those colors were sewed to his clothes" With that Mizuki walked past the gaurds and into the tent. There he looked at the young male tied to a log stuck out of the ground with his hands held high. Looking at the hunched over look Mizuki took a chair and sat it right in front of the young male. Beinging his braid over his shoulder to rest on his chest he sat in the hair and crossed his legs. After a harsh whistle he folded his hands in his lap and watched as the male before him awoke "Good....hello and welcome dear boy" He said as the males head finaly raised. |
Once he finally did start to come to again he was being questions a little by a few what looked to be brutes or at least in his book they would be. They kept asking him things that he had no clue on how to answer, at first he said he had no idea but that was quickly rewarded with a few cheap shots and the one questioning asking more questions and accusing him of lying. After a while this treatment ended, thankfully and he was left to himself. Not that this helped matters any he was still tied to this damned pole and had no idea what was going on.
Sadly his peace was disrupted once more when he heard talking outside the tent. The voice sounded familiar to him but he couldn't put his finger on it. Even as this new person walked into the tent he didn't bother to raise his head, he wanted them to kill him and be done with this already. Though his wish did not seem to be on their to do list... not yet anyway. Though asking him the same questions over and over was not going to get them the answers they sought. After a moment the one who had entered seemed to take up a chair and sit in front of where he was. He bothered to open his eyes at this time to see who was to question him this time around... but the outfit told him it was the very man that had caught him and knocked him out in the first place. Yet here he was saying hello and crap now? What sick joke was this... his thoughts stopped as he glared a little at the being before him. Something seemed off about this person... they almost didn't seem like they were human? That wasn't possible unless he was dead or something, did he fall and crack his head open and just was stuck in limbo now? His mouth was about to get the better of him now seeing as he was tired of dealing with the same questions over and over. "You might as well kill me now, I don't have your answers you are after. Hell I'd give to know where I am let alone where whoever the hell you are looking for is!" He didn't expect anything good to come of him snapping like that, but it was true. He had n o idea where he was or why he was attacked let alone why they swore he knew something he didn't know. |
Mizuki tilted his head as he listened to the male snap out at him it was kinda funny. Though that didnt stop Mizuki from continuing playing this little game the male seemed to be playing. "So...I am to believe that a young male such as your self is walking around the northern forset during a war while waring army colors has no idea where said army even is?" He asked with a little tilt of his head. "Yeah I believe that I believe im a woman" He stated with a little huff.
"So tell me then...if you have nothing to do with the army...why wear the colors?" He spoke before standing and ripping the patch off of the males arm "Why brand the symbol?" He said throwing the rag to the ground "Do you not understand that this army you choose to side with will be the end of normal and magical folk alike?" He said looking to him. "Our trees will crumble, our rivers will run dry and nothing but cold unforgiving stone will be all around you" He stated. Mizuki sighed before he rubbed his eyes and sat down hunched over a little before the male his ears twitching with annoyance "Well?" Mizuki spoke "What is your purpose here?!" |
He blinked a little magicfolk? Was that what he said? "I'm wearing this for a school play, whatever sick game your getting at here isn't funny anymore in fact it never was!" He sighed a little before speaking again knowing that he wasn't getting through to this person, it had to be a loony. "Do you really think they'd take a kid and put him on the front lines of this so called war? ... if anything I'd be cannon fodder at best but to assign me as a scout or whatever you thought I was."
"also what do you mean magicfolk? you have really lost it haven't you?" He had to laugh a little, the sorry situation he was in and he was trying to bother talking with this crazy? "What are you going to tell me your a elf or something? Oh better yet a troll right?" Normally he didn't have such a smart mouth but he was going to fail because of missing that play and there was no way that his teacher would think this story of being kidnapped was true. Though it was about this time he bothered listening to the one before him. Once the other finished his rant and sat again he finally took notice of his ears. He wanted something desperate to adjust his glasses surely he wasn't seeing that. He couldn't bring himself to speak at first when he noticed the pointed ears. His face probably lost a lot of it's color when he put his thoughts together. "My purpose? what is your purpose?! Elves aren't real. What are you trying to pull here?!" This was a prank it had to be, all of this had to be a prank or some bad dream. There was no way he was sent to some other world or realm let alone one where magic was real. All magic was just myths and legends right? "What do you want me to tell you?! What that you win? I give up what is it?" To admit it he was a bit scared by this point, he was just a high school student what was he suppose to do if he had been sent somewhere else other then his world? No not possible. |
Mizuki tilted his head "Surely it is you that is the crazy one" He spoke before he turned his head just intime for Luna to step inside the tent the dragonoid tilting her head "Master we have reports that the northern fleet is in motion" Mizuki sighed at this "Tell Saith to go take it im busy here for the moment...besides just a four man scout" Luna nodded her head and left the tent.
Mizuki now turned his attention back towards the male before him "You were saying?" He asked looking at the males face that read utter shock "Something about magical folk a myth or elvens not real" He spoke "Take another look around son...what planet have you been living on?" |
Maybe he was crazy, what was going on here there was no way what he just saw was a prank. If it was it was a damned good one. Of course his face had shock written all over it where he was from there were only humans. "what planet? At this point I have no idea last I knew I lived on Earth." Nothing in his history books spoke of myths coming to life. There was no reasoning behind this, history wouldn't leave out facts like this right? Maybe some force had taken the world over in the term of a night and all of this had changed. Ok no that was even more outlandish then elves being real.
"Why me... " He muttered before shaking his head a little. "Ok look I have no idea whats going on, what the hell that thing that just spoke to you was or why you look like a elf. All I know is that I'm going to fail my 12th year of school because of missing my role in a play that I was suppose to perform probably hours ago." Why was he still worried about a dumb play? Here he was in a world where magic seemed to be real and he was worried about his grades. "wait... what year is this? You were talking about a army ... " He started thinking about the colors he was wearing and that this army he was wearing the colors of was defeated years ago so the colors would only be present during that period of time. Oh how he prayed he was wrong. At the same time it didn't explain why history had written out all forms of magic. |
"What year is it..." Mizuki said looking to the male before him "You have got to be kidding me right?" He said as he walked around the male reaching a hand out and touching the back of his head "How hard did I actually hit you?" He asked looking over the spoke that seemed to be a little bruised at best. Shaking his head he moved out in front of the young male again "The year is 1812...." Mizuki said looking to him "The army is wiping every magical creature from this earth" He said.
After a moment Mizuki sighed and sat back in the chair that was before the male "The king calls it a cleansing" Mizuki said before looking up at the male before him "His goal is kill and dismember every magical folk around and so far they have done one hell of a job" He said with a sigh "Luna is the last Dragonoid in this area and I the last Elven" He spoke "Before long even simple mages and magic users shall be wiped clean as well" Hanging his head a little Mizuki let the quite of the room help sink the words in deeper to the male in front of him before he began to speak again "Family...friends...all have died by the hands of the southern king. He wont stop till 'a modern world' Lives...or so he says" After that Mizuki stood again "Any and all that serve him...will die" He said looking to the male hanging by the post "You my young lad...joined the wrong side" |
He didn't want to hear the answer he had gotten from the one before him. "1812... that's... that's not possible." Nothing could make this possible, though he did admit to seeing some plant life on the short walk he had that had long ago stopped growing in these parts. But that didn't mean anything someone could have planted them or something. Maybe he was dreaming all of this, he had spent too much time in the library again and fell asleep while reading a book. That had to be it or so he wanted to think.
He kept thinking no trying to figure out what had happened, what could explain this. He was of science, there was no such thing as magic you couldn't go back in time. All the while the other spoke, talking about killing the other side to theirs and that the king is killing all who have magic or are born of magic. None of this added up the king lost this war years ago, the rebels had won but there was no knowledge of magic in any of the texts he had read. "Wrong side? I didn't join any side!" He half exclaimed knowing this ... elf in front of him wasn't going to believe him. "None of this is real, the rebels won this war years ago. It says so in the history books." He shook his head a little knowing this all sounded crazy. "You can't go back in time, if there was a way to do that then the world would have unraveled itself already." |
Mizuki looked at him "History books....traveling in time?" He said tilting his head to look at him "You know...I have no idea what is compelling me to do this" He said before moving to stand behind the male. Soon the chains were undone and the man was free. Taking a moment to look him over Mizuki gave a sigh "You know...im not one to believe in...time travel as you so say" Mizuki said lightly moving so he could stand in front of the young male.
This is when he looked the young man over in front of him. Something was different about him. Maybe it was the way he spoke or acted. Maybe it had something to do with the hope the young male gave Mizuki that they had indeed won the war that was about to take place. Mizuki shook his head lightly before holding the long braid to his chest and bowing "My name is Mizuki Kinsaki" He said "Leader of the opposing force" He stated as he stood up right again before looking at the young male before him "You are free to go or stay" He stated "Though a little warning...if you turn out to be exactly who you say you are not...I will kill you myself" He stated "Either by my bare hands or maybe a drink to dry you from the inside out...?" He shrugged his shoulders. |
He listened to the other as he freed him and introduced himself. As well as the quick threat on his life. He almost wanted to cringe at the thought, there were a few toxins that he could think of that would pull off such a feat. None of them he really wished to encounter for himself. Who knew why it seemed the man before him trusted his word, but he was glad he did. For a while there he thought for sure he was to be marked off as a crazy and he would be killed. Odds where he was still to be killed, maybe this was still some game he was playing.
"Evan Hansen, high school student and the guy who always seems to be in the wrong place at the wrong time." The last part was more of his humor on the matter. Though it wasn't really funny in truth. Here he was talking to the rebel leader that was reported dead many many years ago... he needed to figure out a way to get home, staying here was not a good idea. "er.. well if you have my bag somewhere I can prove what i have been saying is true." It wasn't the book saying the rebels had won the war but it was still in this same time period, and would show there was no mention of magic anywhere among it's pages. Though at the same time odds where that the book might be blank... that'd be rather cute for him to try to convince someone he wasn't lying and show them a blank book. |
After the male shared his name as well Mizuki raised an eyebrow at his name. He had never heard such a...simple name in all his years of living and he had been living for a long time. Shaking his head lightly his ears flattened to the sides of his head to show his annoyance with himself. After the male now knowen as Evan mentioned his bag Mizuki wondered if it was a good idea to give it to said male.
Mizuki thought for a moment before he walked over to a table in the room that was covered in different tools and gadgets. Taking the bag from the corner of the table he walked back over and handed it to the young male. "I was admiring the stitch work on the satchel" Mizuki said looking to the bag as the male began to open it "Such care and time went into ever stitch to make it so well" He stated once more. |
"It was my father's, it's been handed down throughout the generations. It's not like most of the things during my time, most items are mass produced by machines and people are just employed to do minor tasks and to ensure the machines keep running." He stopped after that and thought about what he had just said. "You probably don't understand what I just said at all heh.." How was he suppose to explain metal arms did most of the work and things like this bag were hard to come by seeing as most didn't have any form of a trade skill. Let alone did he mess up by sharing such information? Was he going to unravel the future by talking about such things in the past?
Finally finding the book he pulled it out an handed it to Mizuki. "This is one of the history books, the events are around this time but it's not the one on the war... but at the least it can prove there was no mention of magic at all in the future." He had checked the book to make sure the words didn't vanish on him, at his luck they would have. But apparently just because he went back in time didn't mean that things just disappeared that came from his own time. Not that he still believed this whole time traveling business. "Though I suppose you could say i made it all up and printed a book on it..." It was a thought, though that would be some impressive planning, aside from that his other clothes were still in the bag so if anything they could prove he wasn't from here, they didn't have such styles back during this time. |
Mizuki took the book and looked it over. The binding was something he had never seen around before. Opening the book he looked over all of the pages running his fingers over different pictures knowing some of them Mizuki smirked. A soft smile grew on his face as he looked over the images but then his smile faded as he began to read the words that were beside each picture "Do you know how many things within this book of yours are false?" He asked looking over the pages turning them and looking over more.
Mizuki shook his head a little as he stayed on one page. It was a page describing a king that ruled with kindness and equality "See...if you knew him like I did...you would agree hes an ass" Mizuki said pointing to the picture of an elderly king. "Not only that...it dose not mention in anyway that he was a mage. He ruled his kingome and still dose with an iron fist of magic..." After a moment Mizuki handed the book back to him "You know...I am not sure why you are here" He stated "Nor do I know how you got here" He stated "Or how to get you home" Mizuki said at the unasked question that was floating around in Evans head. |
He shrugged a little listening to him. "It's a history book, as far as where I come from is concerned you aren't a elf. Nothing in the books say anything about magic or mythical beings." Maybe everything that he knew was false, this world seemed to be real enough, maybe he really had bumped his head on something and this was all in his head... he had been reading a few too many history books in the past month.
"He probably was... most people in any position of leadership tend to be an ass." That was his experience anyway, king or government alike it was probably all similar in how they treated most people. "I'm not sure where the person who wrote the books got their information... magic would seem like a important fact to include... though in the modern world there isn't any such thing unless you could little magic shows and all they are is cheap tricks." He looked away from Mizuki as he said he didn't know why or how he got here let alone how to get him back home. "Not like it matters... I probably wasn't going to live up to the name I was suppose to fulfill anyway." He shrugged slightly at the thought, it was bothering him more than he was letting on. He wanted to go home, his mom he knew for sure would break apart if she ended up losing him as well. "So now what? You could always still kill me, I could be a threat if the other side found out there was someone who was from the future." If the other even really believed that story, though it was hard for him to make up such things that was for sure. |
Mizuki sighed a little "You wish to return back to where you came from" He stated thinking to himself for a moment "Well first step to solving this would be to see the great mother" He spoke lightly before raising his head. This is when Mizukis light lavender eyes looked right into those of Evans "Though she is all knowing and powerfull and everything that is said must be what your ready to hear" He said.
Then with out another moment Mizuki turned on his heal and headed for the tent door. Once he reached it he looked behind him "Well...come on" He stated before leaving the tent. Mizuki stopped and waited on the other side of the tent for the young male before he continued walking. Mizuki took Evan through the camp. Everything ranging from Drows to Dragonoids and Griffens roamed around them including Mages and Humans. To Mizuki this was an everyday thing. Not a single one of these creatures he called friend and family seemed mystical to him in anyway. Though from a place where magic dosent happen...the thought was enough to send shivers down Mizukis spine. Before long they reached a large tent in the middle of the camp. The tent had different crystals and herb bunches hanging from it. Painted images of creatures lined the tent in many colors. Mizuki turned and looked to Evan "I take this time to warn you" Mizuki said "Great mother has lived many a year and her appearance maybe one of shock to you" He stated "She is the last elder of my clan" Mizuki said with a tone of sadness as his ears flattened in sorrow "Speak calmly and gentle" He said before pulling back the tent flap and stepping in. Once inside the tent the smell of flowers and herbs all around greated you. Around the edges of the tent different pots of herbs sat along with crystals and rocks. This all led up to a plush center of pillows where an old woman sat. Her long flowing hair grey with age fell out around and behind her to scatter like silken strands. Her old skin rinkled with age showed a face weery with time. Ears no longer pointy but folded half way, different crystals hanging from them. Mizuki motioned for Evan to step forward. Infront of the great mother sat more plush pillows and here is where Mizuki instrucked Evan to sit before joining him. Softly Mizuki then spoke "Good evening great mother" He said in a low voice the words rolling off his tongue with many years of practice. Raising his head a soft smile on his lips the great mother spoke. "Hello dear child" She said "Your presence is most welcome" a weery voice cracked with age said "But I see you are not alone today" This is when she drew her attention to Evan sitting beside Mizuki "Hmmmm..." She hummed "Your aura dear is not one of this time" She said lightly "It squiggels and squirms with unease and worry" This is when she tilted her head a little "You seek answers to questions that seem far off" Mizuki looked to Evan who seemed to be in a trance staring at the elder before him. This is when Mizuki shook his head a little "Tell her your questions" He said when the young male still did nothing. |
Sure he wanted to go home, but he wasn't sure at the same time. What if everything that was told in his time was wrong, if this was indeed the same world why did magic vanish? His head hurt for a number of reasons, thinking too much and the fact that he did get a nice blow earlier. But he still had to wonder why or what force could cause history to forget that such beings and magic existed. Sure they were spoke of in legends and myths but if they were real why hide them? He wanted answers and he knew he would probably never get them.
Following Mizuki he couldn't help but look over the variety of being in this camp, to see such things actually breathing and going about a daily life was almost unbelievable. Though he did do his best not to stare and a number of the beasts and other beings he knew from books or games he had read or played over the years... to admit it made him more then a little uneasy seeing some of them in the flesh. A number of them being known for their tempers or fighting skills, he was hardly willing to test his luck by offending any of them. Or at least if he could help it... Once they seemed to come to the tent Mizuki wanted to take him to he listened once more to the other before nodding a little. He knew how to talk to his elders, and if this being was a elf.. who knew how hold she really was. The concept of immortality was something humans sought after so to be face to face with a being that very well could be as close to immortal as you could get was exciting ... even if he still wasn't sure he trusted all of this magic business. The woman was indeed old, her age he had tried in his mind to guess but he quickly gave up not wanting to offend her in the event she had some sort of powers to read minds. Though in truth he probably would have guessed way younger then she really was. Though he was brought from his thoughts when the woman spoke to him talking of his aura and how it seemed to be acting. In truth it was exactly how he felt, he was uneasy and had a bit of worry he was stuck here. Not that it was all bad, so long a a dragon or something didn't eat him... He nodded a little when Mizuki seemed to tell him to ask what questions he had, he wasn't sure where to begin but he'd try to start somewhere. "Why... why if all of this exists now why not in the time I come from?" He seemed to pause a moment sure he could have asked how to get home or why this happened to him and not someone else but not all things needed a answer just yet, nor did he expect such questions to have something so simple as a answer. "Everything I know of the world seems to be wrong as far as history is concerned..." In truth he wasn't sure this question even had a answer, even if this elder was wise she might not be able to provide such a answer. Everything just felt like it was happening too quickly like all of the information he had read needed to be redone or relearned because the books were wrong. What happened between now and his time to cause magic to all but vanish from the world? |
Mizuki looked to Evan and the weird question he had asked. Most humans concerned themselves about themselves. So to see another ask something that didnt help himself in any sort of way made Mizuki a little shocked. The statement also brought back the great mother alittle as she thought of the question but she didnt let her shock show. Thinking of the perfect answer she spoke in a soft voice to Evan.
"What once was there always shall be" She stated "Though the hearts of the weak have friends with a shadow, and light is the enemy" She said in a hum as she tilted her head a little "One love to last the time has the power to shine..." Turning her head she looked directly at Evan "One love to give hope is the same love that will destroy" After she had spoken she nodded her head. This is when Mizuki stood up and gave a bow to the elder before grabbing Evan and heading out of the door "Did...you get the answers you needed?" He asked still thinking of the mothers words. Lately everything with her had been a love to hurt and heal and he didnt understand why. |
He didn't think his question all that strange, he was due to be trained as a doctor so why shouldn't he think of others as his father had during his time. Though he wasn't expecting such a riddle of an answer. Maybe he should have though, all of the elders he had questioned or talked to even in his time never gave a straight answer. It was good enough for him, it would allow him something to think on and keep his mind off of the situation at hand.
When Mizuki seemed to be ready to leave after bowing to the elder Evan quickly did the same knowing at the least he could try and show the best respect he could to the woman for trying to help. Even if the answer was more of a riddle then anything. What did she mean by her words, what did love have to do with any of this? Maybe in due time answers would come, though some of her words gave room for thought. She mentioned that once something was there it shall always be... did that mean magic wasn't gone from the present time? He was snapped out of his thoughts as Mizuki asked if he got what answers he sought. He nodded a little weakly before speaking. "More or less. Good thing I seem to have free time..." He'd be needing it to figure out the little saying she told as the answer. Maybe if he figured it out then he could return home as well? There was the thought in the back of his mind that he was stuck here, maybe he'd never go home and in the present he just vanished from thin air. |
Mizuki was glad that the male had at least got some answer that was needed. "So since you have no place to go" Mizuki said looking to him "Let me house you till your departure" He said with a little bow. Next Mizuki thought of where he would be able to place the male and the only thing he could think of was something he was not sure that Evan would like all to much.
"Fallow me" He stated turning on his heel and heading to the south end of the camp. Leaving the camp they walked a little into the trees before they came to a larger tent then most seen in the camp. Pulling back the flap Mizuki walked inside. To one side of the tent sat a table and chairs, the table littered with different maps and stones. Across from that sat a fire pit with a still roaring fire in the middle, a mettle pot hanging from it and steaming. A little ways towards the back was a large spread of fur pelts stacked high with large pillows layering the outsides to form a large square. Mizuki walked a little ways into the room before sitting down in front of the fire and smelling the boiling water that turned out to be tea. Taking it off Mizuki looked up to Evan who was just standing there. It seemed weird to him that some one of his...look ended up back in a time like this "So..." Mizuki began as he moved a cup of tea to the other side of the fire then took his long braid brought it over his shoulder to lay on his chest and he leaned back with his own cup. "So..." Mizuki began "How old are you exactly?" Mizuki said with a tilt of his head "I mean if I were to guess it would be in the early 20s range" |
Evan started to protest but changed his mind on doing so. It would be rude to turn down such a offer... not only that but he had no idea when he would be able to get back to his own time. Was time even passing there? Was he reported as a missing person by now? There was too many questions he could think of and most of them he feared the answers to. So instead of giving himself a further headache he tried to stop thinking about them. At least for now, he didn't even want to think about the answer the elder had given at the moment.
For now he followed Mizuki to see where he planned to take him to stay. He found it odd that he was being offered a place and not mere hours ago this same man had tried to kill him. Everything was just happening too fast for him. His head was still killing him in a combination of the blow and the fact he couldn't stop thinking. He hated his mind for being overly active at times, during his study it was a grand thing but now.. he wanted a off switch. After a short while Mizuki seemed to enter a larger tent, he guessed this was probably where Mizuki lived in the camp. But why would he want or be offering him a place to stay here? If he was really a spy wouldn't it be safer to lock him up somewhere? Maybe he should just count his blessings instead of questioning everything. Some things need not be answered. Either way he followed Mizuki into the tent, and to be honest was rather impressed by the layout. Sure reading details of how camps were set up in history books were one thing, but to see them in person like this... He wasn't sure if he considered himself lucky or cursed. Maybe after or if he could get some rest he could take out the sketch pad he kept in his bag and do some sketches. It was a thought to pass the time and to keep his mind at ease at the least, though he wasn't sure he wanted to risk going about the camp and sketching the beings there... he'd rather like to keep his head attached to his body. He nearly flinched when Mizuki spoke again. He had been lost in his thoughts so he wasn't completely paying attention. "huh? oh ..." He shook his head a little. "your a few years off, I'm 18. Next month im 19." Why did it matter? During this era it wasn't unheard of for a teen to be a fighter, not from what he had read anyway. He was a little older then his peers though, but that was from his family moving a few times when he was in middle school. "Dose it matter? I'm old enough to work if thats what your getting at." He was sure he was going to be put to work or the fighting lines sooner or later. Nothing came for free, so it was expected. Though to admit it he was at a large disadvantage having no idea how to do any of the common day tasks during this time. Well aside from making herbal mixes and potions... |
Mizuki looked to him and nodded his head "Awww so that is what you think huh" He said looking to Evan before giving a shrug and a little snort "If you want sure but I really dont think your..." This is when Mizuki looked to Evan "..Body type is built for the kind of work the camp needs done" He stated lightly. "But there is more that could be done then manual labor" He spoke.
Mizuki then thought of it for a moment before he spoke again "Well we need more units thats a given" He said "But we also need more medical staff..." Mizuki said in a thoughtful time "But healing knowledge is hard to come by now adays..." This is when he looked to Evan "I mean...your a future dweller...tell me what kind of healing do you have?" He said with a tilt of his head. Mizuki had often thought what herbs and potions as well as magic would be life some years into the future. Being a race that lives for hundreds of years Mizuki would see the change for awhile to come yet. |
He couldn't stop himself from rolling his eyes at the comment of his body type. No he wasn't built, he was only 18 why would he be overly built at this age in the modern world. Sure he could pull his own or do work but it was probably for the best that he wasn't put to manual labor, not like he could have kept up with the beings that littered the camp anyway. Even the humans of this period had a struggle to keep up with certain other races. Though maybe he could still prove useful, after all they were letting him stay here and for the moment he still was alive. For however long that lasted.
He seemed to perk up a little at the mention of medical staff. That should be easy enough, he had read books on the herbs that grew in the around and a few surrounding ones back in the day. Though a number were rare and hard to find in the future. Maybe he could be of some sort of use after all. "heh... nothing like it is during this time. Most medicines come in a capsule or pill form. With more recent updates in medical knowledge a lot of them are even moving towards being chewy gummies that don't taste like medicine at all. Though I think that was mainly a development to assist with getting kids to take medicine.." Though it was slowly moving into the adult medicines as well. Mostly vitamins though. "There are places you can pick up herbal tea mixes or blends similar to that of the pills you can buy.. but it's hardly common place to mix together your own herbs or potions." Though the basics that were taught still involved such methods in order to discover new medicines and cures. "But I do know of the herbs and potions of this time, a lot of the plants are rare back in my time or are only growing in areas where the environment protects them, making them next to impossible to get to." It was only then that he noticed he was sort of rambling at that point and seemed to withdraw any further thoughts from leaking out. |
Mizuki thought on what Ecan had said "Pill..." He shook his head "Nothing works better then teas or brews" He stated "Its faster to the problem that way" Mizuki then sighed and gave a little shrug "But if it works I mean why change something right" He stated. Mizuki then looked to Evan "Well you know of herbs?" He said before standing and moving over to the right side where wooden shelves of jars sat.
Each jar was clear to see the contents of each. Everything ranged from leaves to flowers and roots. Stones, mud, sand and dirt also littered the shelves with pieces of different bark and jars of different nectors of flowers and waters from different springs. Mizuki stopped and looked to Evan "Well..." He said motioning to his wall of healing supplies "Lets see what you can do" He stated. This is when Mizuki motioned to different tools to mix everything or grind it, cut it or shred it. Next he went and sat down at the table "I have a headache...cure it" He stated as he rested an elbow on the table resting his chin on his right hand he looked to Evan his ears twitching. |
He shrugged a little as a answer to his question of why change it. "supply and demand, consumers are lazy in the future..." It was true enough there was pre-cooked meals, heck even salads came in a bag. If robotics were more advanced he was sure that the world would fall into a even deeper spiral of laziness. Not that he was all clean of such actions... being a full time student with a part time job in a small quicky shop he didn't always have time to eat the way he wished.
He didn't want to nod when Mizuki seemed to ask if he knew of herbs. He did but he wasn't sure of his own knowledge or how well the reading he had done had settled in his mind. Truth of it was he was a bit uneasy when Mizuki seemed to walk over to some jars. He nearly wanted to retreat from the words the other said 'lets see what you can do' no pressure behind them at all. Let alone none of the jars seemed labeled. Though if they were kept by a being who could live such a extended life why bother, he probably knew what was in each of the jars. Sure he knew his stuff in the modern world but this was different. Headache should be a easy cure, but why use it as a test. He knew this was a test, if he messed this up he would be useless. Reluctantly he walked over to where Mizuki had motioned to. Ok so the tools seemed familiar enough, this should be easy he knew what he was looking for... or rather he hoped he did, he didn't get much practice with picking out the raw materials in such a state. Let alone it was more then unnerving to have a pair of eyes watching his every movement. At the least he did remember working on stuff similar to this when his father was trying to teach him as a child. Trying to get his head under control that he could do this he exhaled once before bothering to look for the things he needed. After a few minutes of checking over the collection at hand he picked a few jars and vials from the shelf. Double checking their contents before he started to work to turn the amount of each selected item into a fine powder that could be used for tea brewing. This was more work then most let on to be, to get the moisture out of certain materials to make the powder dry. But either way after a while he seemed to relax a little more being half way done with the process. This was a lot for him to take in for one day, let alone here he was trying to not mess up a simple herb remedy for a headache... though it was for a elf. After a few moments he looked over the finished product before going about to mix the tea for Mizuki who still was silently judging him. After sitting the cup down in front of the other he wanted to faint almost. He was sure it was right, he had even tossed in a few tricks he had picked up over the years to make the blend taste a little better, instead of the sour taste it normally held. |
Mizuki sat there and watched as Evan went to work. He watched over every jar that the other had picked and a few sparked some interest with him though he said nothing. As the male finished the tea and brought it to him the first thing he did was smell it. "Hmmm..." He hummed lightly before bringing the cup to his lips.
"Now...our sure with your choices?" Mizuki said and before the male could second guess himself Mizuki swalled the small amount of tea in one sip. After sitting there for a moment or two Mizuki spoke "Not bad...I see you made the taste sweater" He said "Pritty basic remedy" He said "Though instead of the foxes root I would of used horse tail...would of taken it out instandtly instead of gradually He said with a little nod of his head "So besides learning more I would say your good" Mizuki said with a little nod. This is when he stood and walked over to the large array of pillows and furs. Taking some long pillowes he dropped them leaned up at the end of the furs and laid down folding his arms behind his head. "The camp is full" He said with his eyes closed "So your to stay with me for the time being" He spoke bringing his braid over his shoulders and recrossing his arms Mizuki looked to Evan "You can have the bed" He said before placing his head back down on crossed arms. He then crossed his legs and began to hum. Soon his foot tapped along with his humming. |
He started to say something when Mizuki asked him if he was sure on his choices. No not really he was always second guessing himself. Though he wasn't given the chance to speak up and say that he wasn't sure before the other had taken a sip, That was all he needed was to do was poison the one person here probably willing to believe a tale he didn't even believe. The few seconds after the sip seemed to last forever, he was expecting the worse. If he had messed up on one thing it could completely change the mix.
Though after a moment Mizuki seemed to speak again, at the least Evan managed to breath once more assuming that he didn't just kill the elf. He quickly knew the other was fine seeing as he was saying what he should have used instead. He merely nodded still trying to recover his heart seeing as he had lost it for a moment while he thought of the 101 what if's during the first little sip. "I'm not all that good... I just happen to read a lot of books and my father taught me how to hand mix remedies such as this one..." but certain herbs were limited during his time, foxroot was more common so that was probably why he never thought of the other at all. After watching Mizuki get up and go about fixing where he was sleeping not once did he let Evan protest to anything. Not that he had a real choice in any of this from the start. He wasn't sure how he felt about any of this in truth, staying here he didn't feel safe for some reason. Maybe being out of his time period wasn't helping matters... He started to say Mizuki could have the bed but changed his mind and instead thanked him for even letting him stay here at all. Though Evan knew sleep would be hard to come by tonight, too much on his mind. His thoughts were active and it was all he could do to keep still so if the other wanted to sleep he could do so. At some point he took out the sketch pad he had in his bag and went about scribbling some of the things he remembered from today. One being some of the races that were throughout the camp. At the least he could get his mind to calm down by doing this, maybe even fall asleep after a while. |
From the moment Mizuki laid down on the propped up pillows he all but ignored the other male in the room. Now being the perfect time for Mizuki to think and think is what he did. Everything that had taken place as of late seemed to be on the hard side of truth. Though when you have lived the life of an elf with magical creatures and beings you tend to believe alot more then just the truth.
Mizuki lightly shook his head in his thoughts. How could it be that this male came from the future to his time and be so okay with it? Not only that but after the explanation of the lack of magical folk around... At that thought Mizuki cringed a little. No magic in the time Evan came from...nothing? How is it that they won the war but in the end lost it all at the same time? Mizuki knew that at one point he would be in the same time as the male sitting on his bead. If this war did not kill him yes he would continue on with his life. That is when his thoughts changed and moved into a different direction, the war. With that thought on his mind Mizuki had passed out. Sleeping lightly his ears twitching to any sound that was made. It seemed it was going to be an interesting moment in Mizukis life. The next morning came on swift wings and many a chore needed to be done that way. Getting up Mizuki looked over to the bed where a soundly sleeping Evan laid. He contemplated waking the young male before him but he decided that it was for the best to let him sleep. With that thought he quickly changed and headed out of the tent. The day went by as the whole camp worked. Everything was going great until the patrol came back...well...some of the patrol. Mizuki was in the middle of training some of the younger units when Luna came bursting through the training ground trees "Master!" She yelled out making Mizuki stop what he was doing. The slight smile on his face gone the moment his eyes laid on Luna "Sir the north patrol came home" She said "And...?" Mizuki Inquired looking to Luna "Only 2 came back sir" She said and as soon as the words were out Mizuki was gone. Darting through the trees like nothing he made it to the camp where people were running around in attempt to look busy. First place Mizuki headed to was the medical tent. There he stood in the door way for a moment and watched as frantic medics went about trying to calm uncalm people "Enough!" Mizuki said his voice ringing through the tent like wild fire. As soon as the words were out the two males that seemed to be causing the medics issues stopped dead. Mizuki walked up to the first male that seemed to be in the worst condition. Gashes, broken bones and "A missing arm..." Mizuki spoke to himself before he began his actions in the healing prosses the quietness of the tent back to a roar. Mizuki needed at least one to live to tell the tale of what had taken place. Everything was going well but another hand would be nice. That is when he looked up and over to Luna who had fallowed him "Go to my tent and grab the new boy...tell him trainings afoot" He said before going back to work. |
Evan had finally fell asleep at some point or another, this in turn ended up with a smudge on the sketch he had bee working on. It was something he could fix though when he got around to it. Though his dreams tormented him, so he hardly got what one would call a restful sleep. He ended up thinking to much about how he got here and it had in turn kept his mind away even though he was asleep.
Even now he was still in his sleep trance when Luna finally made it to the tent and woke him without any regard once so ever of him being asleep. At first he had no idea where or what was going on till he noticed the dragonkin and jumped a little. "Sorry I -" He started to say sorry to her for acting like that, not like he was use to seeing such a creature. Though he was cut off before he could do so. He told him he was to come with her, he nodded knowing he didn't have a choice in the matte so why bother saying no or asking why. Following her she seemed to rush back to the medical tent where Mizuki was. Sure she had told him the message the other gave her but Evan wasn't sure what to make of it .. till now. He wasn't sure what Mizuki expected him to do really. Sure he knew some potions and herbal mixes but this was more along the lines of what he would be taught in college. Though for someone who had never seen such a display before he probably did better then most seeing as he didn't vomit or faint, yet. |
