Yet another newbie!

So, I've just joined. I've gotten a very naked avatar up, time to see what I can afford to dress with now.

Avox 03-05-2012 11:51 PM

Welcome! Check out the Charities forum - there are quite a few places that will help you get into the swing of things. :) I'm relatively new as well, and find Trisphee absolutely incredible! I hope you find the same as well.

Espy 03-06-2012 12:11 AM

Hey, welcome to Tris.

...Apologies for the lagginess; server's been having some issues.

ANYWAYS. If you've any questions, feel free to ask me :)

Red Calypso 03-06-2012 01:09 AM

Thanks, Numb and Espy! I found the free clothes and such, so I'm not naked any more! I will check out the charities. In the meantime any suggestions on the best way to build up currency?

Espy 03-06-2012 01:22 AM

Postpostpostpost like mad!

Well, basically, a casual convo will net you lots of money. It's not that hard to earn here.

Kiddiss 03-06-2012 03:30 AM

~Kat bounces into the thread~
Hi, Calypso :3
I, too, am new *nod*
I followed a friend here from another site... and found out more of my old friends have moved here, as well ^_^

I go by "Kat"; by what name do you prefer to be called?

Heheh, I think that hairstyle is extreme popular with us newbies >.< Another newbie friend (one who followed me her XD) and I both picked that for our first hair- only in different colors.

Numb and Espy are right- everyone here is so nice, and it's really pretty easy to earn currency (aurum) here just by being active.

Oh, and playing the Find Your Fortune game. You can get anything from 50 aurum ("pure" if you are familiar with avatar site currencies), to different amounts of event currencies. I highly suggest playing :3

Red Calypso 03-06-2012 04:27 AM

Espy and Kat, thanks! Could someone explain the different currencies to me and what they're used for? So far I see five different types.

Gallagher 03-06-2012 04:48 AM

Hello there! -waves-

Aurum is the main currency around here. It's what you earn from posting, and what you use to buy most things.

Runes are the currency used to buy monthly and yearly donation items! These you can pay for with real money, or buy off of other users.

Anka Tokens are used to buy items in the token shop! Some of these items are always there, but some may pop in during events and such for a limited time. You earn these by completing achievements!

Rations and Water are both currencies being used in the current event. They can be earned in the Find Your Fortune game, or bought off of other players. They're used to purchase item sets from the event shop! Water is worth more than rations.

I hope that answers your question~

Red Calypso 03-06-2012 05:24 AM

Thanks, Gallagher! What is the current event? How do I participate?

Gallagher 03-06-2012 05:31 AM

First off, you can always visit the event forum to read up on this event's storyline, and talk to other users!

You can also take a peek at some of our event contests to see if there's any you'd like to participate in.

And, of course, there's the "Find Your Fortune" game, as Kat pointed out, in the corner of your screen. The game is only for this event, so take advantage of it! It's true you can win aurum through it, but also rations, waters, rubies, and treasures. Rubies and treasures can be used to receive rations OR water (whichever one YOU choose), so they'll go a long way towards earning enough to buy the sets! You can play the game every 10 minutes or so after you WIN a prize - if you lose, keep trying until you do win!

Red Calypso 03-06-2012 05:51 AM

Where do I turn in treasure to get rations or water?

Kiddiss 03-06-2012 05:58 AM

Yep; what The Doctor said ^_^

Also, regarding the Rubies/ Treasures/ Rubies&Treasures: The way to get either Water or Rations out of these, is as follows:
Go to "Avatar". This brings you to your Inventory.
Click on the tab that says "Usable". This is where you find your Rubies and stuff.
Click on a Ruby (or Treasure or Ruby/Treasure combo), and "use" this item.
Click on either Water or Rations. You get more Rations than Water from these because the event items (found in the Event Shop under the SHOPS button) cost more rations for those Bundles than the number of Waters you need for the other items.
Once you have purchased a bundle with your event currency, the bundle will be in the "Usable" tab of your inventory.
Click the bundle and "use" the item to "unpack" the bundle.
Now your wearable items can be found under the "Event" tab in your inventory and are ready to be equipped ^_^

I hope this was helpful :3

Funkduder 03-06-2012 06:00 AM

Welcome, Calypso the Red. XD

Red Calypso 03-06-2012 10:44 AM

Thanks, Kiddiss, I think I can follow that.

*waves* Hi, Funkdude!

Demonskid 03-06-2012 11:08 AM

Welcome to Trisphee ouo

I see Espy and Gal has you covered on the questions ouo

Red Calypso 03-06-2012 11:10 AM

Hi, Demonskid! Yes, I managed to turn in my treasure and rubies. Now, if I would just quit dying on the quests! LOL

Demonskid 03-06-2012 11:42 AM

ah yes.. I die a lot myself oxo its like.. the monkey and the kids hate me

Espy 03-06-2012 12:01 PM

Gall has them covered more than me; I conked out a bit past midnight and am now heading off (angrily, but that's a long story) to class.

Red Calypso 03-06-2012 04:26 PM

Demonskid, heck, I get killed by the lamp and the Voice! I've actually been lucky with the monkey and the kids.

Espy, sorry to hear that you're angry, hope things work out.

Gallagher 03-06-2012 04:28 PM

-strikes a pose- I am the master of questions! Bwahahahahah!

hyjin 03-06-2012 08:05 PM

Welcome to trisphee hope you enjoy it here.

Red Calypso 03-06-2012 08:32 PM

Hyjin, I really am so far!I hope to work my way through the event shop and the token shop in the next few days. Is there a list somewhere of items from those shops that have been retired?

Gallagher 03-06-2012 08:39 PM

So full of questions! I like you.

Try taking a look in this thread. Specifically, page two. It covers pretty much all of the items you won't find in the shops, and has convenient previews. Pretty handy, considering you never know what other poses an item might have just by looking at it!

Kiddiss 03-06-2012 08:55 PM

I, too, keep getting killed in the game- but the explanation is so freaking funny that I can't help but laugh XD
My favourite death is when Magical Space Hair eats my face ROFL!

Espy 03-06-2012 10:23 PM

The Magical Space hair was (is...?) actually an item bug that made a certain purple hair float on a black background. It was...amusing, to say the least.

Red Calypso 03-06-2012 10:26 PM

Gallagher, thank you! I tend to be a packrat in the sites I go to. I collect as many items as I can.

Magical Space Hair? I've never come across that.

Gallagher 03-06-2012 10:30 PM

You're certainly not the only user like that around here. I'm sure you'll do wonderfully! Most everyone loves helping out nice new users.

Aha, keep an eye out for it. It really does enjoy eating faces.

Red Calypso 03-06-2012 10:32 PM

Where is it located? I've been killed by a tentacle beast but that's all. Oh, and some kind of unidentified beast, I think...

Gallagher 03-06-2012 10:34 PM

It's lurking somewhere inside the maze~ But if I told you where, I'm afraid the poor thing would probably never get fed!

Red Calypso 03-06-2012 10:35 PM

Heheh, maybe I'll run into it soon!

Gallagher 03-06-2012 10:42 PM

It's one of my favorite outcomes, honestly. I love the entire maze portion of the game. The garden is pretty great, too.

Red Calypso 03-06-2012 10:46 PM

I like the garden and the desert myself.

Gallagher 03-06-2012 10:48 PM

I haven't been able to reach the desert right from the start, so I just counted it with the garden. I still have to explore that place more, lol.

Red Calypso 03-06-2012 10:49 PM

*whimpers* Oh, I KNEW I was taking a chance taking another sip of Coke. Owie owie owie.

Gallagher 03-06-2012 10:51 PM

Wha-? What the heck happened?

Red Calypso 03-06-2012 10:54 PM

Jaw problems. I went to the dentist for it today. He couldn't find a solid reason for it, but he thought I might have a sinus infection that is irritating a surgery screw.

Gallagher 03-06-2012 10:56 PM

Oh wow. That does not sound very lovely at all.

Red Calypso 03-06-2012 11:00 PM

Heheh, doesn't feel good either. It's like being repeatedly stabbed while getting an electrical shock at the same time. And it goes on for several minutes before slowly fading. Any moisture on my upper right jaw can set it off. Makes drinking really fun.

Gallagher 03-06-2012 11:02 PM

... You sound like a cyborg experiment gone wrong.

Red Calypso 03-06-2012 11:04 PM

LOLOL! Considering all the hardware in my face, you're not far wrong.
