Welcome to Nexess Academy, an institute catering to only the best of the best of those special few with a little something 'extra' to share with the world. The rare and unusual is an every day affair. As a reminder, all school rules are here for the safety of all students, so be sure to follow them. This is especially true with midterm examinations. Do your best, study hard, remember to practice, but always stay safe!

School accommodates students from grade 6 to 12 and provides basic college level courses as well as those for the refinement of powers and abilities for graduates.
Students are required to take an English course every year until grade 10.
Lessons in power use, control, and restraint are mandatory for all students.
Separate dorm buildings are provided for males and females.


-No powers are to be used outside of class, or on other students or staff members. Exceptions will be made for extreme circumstances only, and on a case by case basis.

-No leaving school grounds without permission.

-No violence.

-No public displays of romance.

-No entering the dorms of the opposite sex.

-No drugs, alcohol, tobacco products, or weaponry on school property.

-No wandering the grounds past 9PM. Lights out by 12AM.

Powers:Power Mimicry/Augmentation- Able to use others' powers within a certain range. Using this part of the power will drain a person until they are able to aptly control it. Also able to power up another's abilities ahundredfold. Will make another person very powerful, this can be very destructive and needs to be used cautiously.
Marking: Swirls going down her jaw and neck to her left arm.

Powers: Superhuman Strength/Athletic Ability - makes a person super strong and an extremely great fighter. It is rare for a person with this ability to lose a match. Gives a person excess energy that needs to be spent on a daily basis.

The first semester seemed to fly by in a flash. At least, that was the case for most of the boys. Nikolaus, as usual, spent as much time as he could manage with Sia, their swings between bickering and acting like crushing first-years effectively filling most of the day, every day. What time wasn't spent with her, he used in refining his skills, lost for hours in his craft, whether it was his art, the language of his family which he'd yet to master, or simply strengthened control over his own abilities.

Kier, with the majority of his social interaction taking place in class or alone, back in their room with Gabriel, had his priorities on studying. Lacking the need to 'practice' his own abilities, he had the luxury of spending his time on real studying. After all, no matter how different he might have been, that didn't mean that he had no need for real goals and dreams. And to reach them, he had to do his very best in all of his classes. It had become commonplace for him to always have his school bag with him, even the few times that their group went out and about in town.

On the other hand, things couldn't have been going any slower for Gabriel. Sure, most days he would amuse himself chatting with his friends, and however many other students he decided he wanted to talk to on a given day, but it all came down to a simple fact. He was waiting. Always waiting. And when all that one was waiting for was for someone, anyone, even someone you care about, to get hurt? To say that he was unenthusiastic about it was a vast understatement. Still, such things were hardly worth dwelling on.

It was the first day of exams. Specifically, most students had just been released from their testing areas to enjoy the rest of the day. More likely than not, many would just use the time to study for the next. A few, like Gabriel, would rather have spent it relaxing. The only question, he decided as he was leisurely strolling through the hall towards the cafeteria, was how many of his friends would be joining him.

Asami sighed as she left her last exam for the day. Her hand cramped slightly from clutching her pencil for so long. Today was the easy exams though, tomorrow would be the harder exam. She heaved her bag over her shoulder and headed for lunch looking for her friends. She had been with them long enough to finally feel accepted into their small, yet loving group. She smiled as she saw Sia, a cute girl who despite her size was the best fighter Asami knew. Asami had once experienced Sias true power, just thinking about it sent shivers down her spine but after that Asami had been working with Sia to control her energy flow better. The little girl had finally spotted Asami and ran at full speed and tackled her to the ground.
"'Sami!! Ohhh! How did you do on the exams? I think I did great! Like usually i probably got the best scores! I wonder where Nik is!" She paused her constant stream of questions to look around for Nik. Asami took this rare chance to speak.
"Sia... could you perhaps get off of me?" Her side hurt so she probably had a bruise where Sia hit her at best maybe a fractured rib or something along those lines. Her hand touched the area and felt intense pain. She needed Gabe to take a look at it. Sia's eyes refocused on Asami.
"Oh sorry 'Sami!!" She practically leaped off her and started pulling Asami to her feet. It hurt but she couldnt let Sia see the pain because when Sia was sad Asami was sad. Once on her feet Asami scanned the room for Gabe hoping that he would be headed to eat lunch today.

The raven haired young man was just about to push open the doors to enter the cafeteria with a pair of familiar voices caught his attention. He looked down the hall, a sharp frown crossing his features. Both of his male companions were having what looked to be a rather heated discussion, their voices carrying from halfway across the hall. "Hey!" he called, making the pair stop short, Nik narrowing his eyes as he looked over to Gabe, and Kier only glancing over briefly before his attention fell to the floor. The two-toned boy started to join Gabe immediately, while Nik didn't move again until the waiting young man gestured for him to. "I don't suppose you'll tell me what that was about?" Gabriel muttered quietly, moving enough out of the way to let other students in through the door.

"He's being an idiot again," Nikolaus replied, shoving his hands into his pockets.

Gabe arched a brow, casting a glance to Kier instead. The oldest of the boys just shook his head, offering a small, and transparent smile. Gabriel sighed and pointed to the double doors. "Come on. The girls are probably waiting." Reluctantly, each of the three boys filed into the cafeteria in turn.

Asami spotted the trio of males as soon as they walked into the cafeteria. Her side hurt immensely and standing straight made it hurt more. Sia also saw the boys at the same time and squealed. She zoomed towards them shouting words Asami barely heard over the babble of students in the cafe. She tried getting Gabe's attention by looking directly at him. Please let him notice. pllllease let him notice!

The sound of Sia's voice was impossible for any of the boys to miss. Grinning brightly, Nik moved to greet the ever energetic girl before the others. Kier murmured something briefly to Gabriel before moving off to take his place in the lunch line. Not failing to miss the look he was given, Gabe nodded shortly to his roommate, then glanced toward the other two, finally stepping over to where Asami was. His frown lingered on his features, as he already had an idea of what to expect from the girl just by the way she stood. "What is it, Duck?"

Sia ran up and hugged nik. "Nik how did you do on your exams?" She smiled brightly up at him.

Asami motioned for Gabe to step closer to her. "Well.. you see.. Sia tackled me and I feel like something is wrong on my side. It hurts way to much to be a bruise." She whispered to him. "Could you take a look at it for me?" She gingerly raised her shirt to reveal her midriff and turned sideways for him to see the spot.

Nik slipped his arms around the small girl's shoulders, returning the embrace. "Y'know, just as good as I thought I would. No surprises there. What about you?"

Looking down at the girl's side when she lifted her shirt, Gabriel sighed softly, bending slightly to bring his face closer to hers and settle his hand gently on her side. "Deep breath, please," he ordered, the usual light air to his words all but missing completely even in the soft murmur that he used.

The girls smile seemed brighter "Oh I knew you would do amazing. Of course I got all perfect scores." she stuck her tongue out at the boy.

Asami nodded at Gabe and started to breath in deeply but was interrupted by a sharp pain from her side. Tears welled up in her eyes. "Ouch..."

Narrowing his eyes at Sia, the blonde stuck his own tongue out at her, pulling his arms away enough to settle a hand on her arm. "Whatever. You probably cheated or something, didn't you?"

Gabriel narrowed his eyes slightly at the show of pain. He settled his other hand on her side as well, dragging it to the front of her body without moving away from her ribs. All the while, his hands began to warm again, the faintest hints of a soft, golden glow peeking out from between his hands and her body. "I know it hurts, but this will be easier if you keep doing that. Nice and slow now. We want to get it right the first time, don't we?"

"I never cheat!!" Sia gasped at Nik not catching that he was joking. "Nik! how could you think that of me."

Asami nodded again at Gabe and continued doing the breathing exercise. She was acutely aware of his hands on her side. and blushed alittle.

Nik rolled his eyes. "I don't. I wasn't serious. Chill, will you?"

Paying little mind to the young lady's blush, Gabe kept his hands in place, his own breathing shifting to match hers almost perfectly. He maintained little more than a light feather of a touch, letting her breathing keep everything in place on its own as the warmth of his hands spread into her flesh, forcing the injury to heal itself with each passing second.

Sia frowned up at Nik. "You.. you were kidding?!" suddenly she started to giggle. "Ohhh i get it! you were just making a joke! Lets get lunch!" She started pulling him towards the lunch line.

Asami kept her breath nice and even, even though she wanted to sigh from the feeling she got from what Gabe was doing. It felt uncomfortable, yes, but somehow comforting.

"Well, of course I was," he muttered, letting himself get yanked away. "What're we getting to eat this time?"

After another few moments, Gabriel straightened up, removing his hands from the girl's ribs and gently tugging her shirt back down. "That should do it. How's it feel, Duck?"

"hmmm... How about peaches and of course a salad and maybe a bagel!" She giggled. "Ohhh you could have a Pizza if you want or something. But I dont approve!"

Her blush deepened as the male pulled her shirt down. "Oh.. umm.. so much better!" She grinned.

"You never approve of anything good," Nik replied, his attention turning away from the girl momentarily as he watched Kier exit the line, tray in hand, and head over to their usual table.

Gabriel nodded and gestured over to the pair joining the lunch line. "Go grab something to eat. Don't forget to get water. You'll need it."

Sia shook her head "nik that food isn't good. It's bad. Here you need to eat this Apple!" She thrust an Apple into his hand.

"Okay gabe but why?" Asamis face was slowly returning to its normal color as she spoke.

Though Nik frowned slightly at the fruit, after a second, he shrugged, biting into it as he watched the girl.

"Because what I do isn't some sort of god damn magic, Asami," Gabriel replied, his voice harsher than he'd intended. He hesitated, lifting a hand to pinch the bridge of his nose, and sighed. When he spoke again, his tone was far gentler than it was a moment before. "I only work with your body. It still uses up part of your reserves by working so hard to fix itself. You haven't had time to register it yet, but you need food, and plenty of water to finish getting better, or you'll start to feel weak very quickly."

Sia smiled at nik "see!! I knew you liked good foods! Now let's go sit down!"

Stung by the harshness of the boys words, the girl turned away. Tears pooled at the corners of her eyes. She sniffed once before fleeing the cafeteria.

Nik blinked, and looked back to the rest of the lunch line. More specifically, at the foods he didn't get a chance to get. He tried to argue with the girl, but with his mouth full of his current bite of apple, his words were little more than a muddled mess.

Though Gabriel lifted a hand to stop Asami, she was already gone. He scowled, running a hand back through his hair, then shook his head. From where he was sitting, Kier hadn't missed the whole scene, and while he didn't know just what was going on between the two, it didn't matter. Just as Gabe moved to sit at the table beside the young man, Kier stood, grabbing up his bag but leaving his tray just where it was. The two locked eyes for the briefest of moments before Gabe settled heavily into a chair, and the older went off, leaving the cafeteria in search of Asami.

Sia tugged nik away from the line and towards the table the group usually sat at. Once they made it sia looked at gabe "where is everyone else gaby??" She cocked her head slightly to the left.

Just as gabe had said the red headed girl felt a sudden wave of dizziness. She stumbled slightly but she kept moving. She didn't know where but she just wanted to cry alone.

Though he grumbled all the while, Nikolaus followed Sia obediently enough, his brows knitting faintly when he noticed how unexpectedly empty the table was. As he took a seat, he looked back at the lunch lines, to check if maybe the other two were still there. Gabriel just shrugged, pulling Kier's abandoned tray in front of himself. He didn't look up at the two, his gaze stuck on the table in front of himself. "They ran off somewhere together."

It didn't take too much effort for Kier to catch sight of the young lady. He hurried after her, wondering just where she thought she was going and, more importantly, just what the hell Gabriel had done this time. "Asami, wait-!"

His simple answer seemed enough for sia. She nodded vigorously as though she knew it the entire time as she set her tray on the table."nik its time to eat yummy food!!"

Asami heard her name called. She tried to turn her head to see who it was but before that could happen, she feel down.

"Yeah, yeah, I heard you," Nik muttered, leaning back in his chair as he took another bite of his apple. Gabriel arched a brow down at the stolen food but offered no reply to either of them, for once uninterested in keeping up conversation.

His steps hesitated as the girl fell, but soon enough Kier moved again, hurrying to her side. "Oh, this is not good-"

Sia munched happily on her food, being silent as she usually was when she ate. Though her eyes would shift to Niks hands every once in a while. She secretly wished she could hold them.

Asami gasped for air as she lay on the ground "I really am stupid arent i?" Her eyes moved to kier "how.. did you find me? And why follow me?"

Neither of the young men seemed to pay much attention to the girl's interest, content enough with the rare silence. Nik, as he ate the solitary fruit he'd been allowed to grab, shifted his gaze between each of his friends, feeling something was off, but not quite able to place what it was. Gabriel simply didn't care to pay mind to either of them, doing little more than picking the occasional bit of food from the tray.

Kier shook his head slightly, moving to place a hand beneath Asami's head. "It wasn't that hard... You just bolted right down the hall, yeah?" He smiled just slightly, his eyes stuck on her face. "I was worried. Are you alright? What happened-?"

Sia looked around the room once more "will kier and sami be coming back??"

Asami sighed "well I guess gabe yelled at me and I don't know how to quiet handle that and I guess I was a little hurt." Her eyes strayed to the ground unable to meet keirs eyes.

"Good question," Nik muttered, looking from the girl back to Gabriel. The dark haired boy just shrugged, casting a fleeting glance over his shoulder toward the cafeteria doors.

"Yelled at you?" Kier questioned, his brows knitting. While he wasn't outright disbelieving, especially with what he knew of Gabriel, the idea was a difficult one to accept. "Why would he do something like that? What did he say-?"

"Well gabe?? Are you going to tell me?" The girls tone was very demanding but her eyes sparkled with her usual mischievousness.

"Well.. I really don't remember. I asked why to what he said and he yelled at me and I just ran. I just can't handle things like that well. It just reminds me of before." Her fingers on her right hand traced the markings on her left arm slowly.

Gabe just shrugged again, turning his attention back down at the little touched meal. "How should I know? Maybe they're out somewhere getting friendly with one another."

"Doubt it," Nik muttered.

A soft frown at his lips, Kier looked from the young woman's face to the marks on her arm. He bit the inside of his lip, lightly placing his hand over hers as he turned his gaze back to her face. "That's alright... You don't have to talk about it or anything- But, uh... We should probably get you off the floor at least, hm?"

Sia's eyes grew wide. "WAIT. I KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN BY THAT." she looked frantically over at Nik "NIK! WOULD THEY DO THAT?? WE NEED TO STOP THEM. THATS REALLY BAD!!" Several people looked over at the commotion Sia was causing but she ignored it. "NIK WE HAVE TOO!"

She finally looked up at the boy. "O-okay.." She started to get up but collapsed again. "Can.. can you help me out a little?" Her eyes filled with tears as she extended her hand out towards him a little bit unsure if he would take it.

"Wait, what-?" Nikolaus snapped his attention over to Sia, his brows shooting up in surprise at her sudden reaction. "Why is it 'really bad'? It's none of our business!"

"I wasn't serious," Gabe noted, finally glancing up at the two.

Kier took her hand in his own gloved one without hesitation, offering her a reassuring smile as he slipped his other arm around her shoulders. "Of course I can," he replied, moving slowly to urge her up with him.

Sia rarely had a serious look on her face in her life. But the look she gave Gabe was deadly. "You. do NOT. joke. about that!" She sat down in a huff and stared down at her tray with no trace of her normal smile.

She breathed a sigh of relief as Kier helped her up. She wrapped her other arm around Kier's waist and when she was fully standing they were very close for a moment. She blushed profusely and moved a little to the side.

His mouth agape, the blond looked from Sia to Gabriel and back again more than once before he managed to come up with something to say. "I still don't get it. Why's it so bad in the first place?"

"It's not," the other young man muttered as he rose from his own seat. If he was intimidated by the show of seriousness and anger, it didn't show in his even expression. "However, that doesn't matter. And neither does the fact that your little bird here can't understand the concept of sarcasm."

"Hey! What the hell's with you!?"

The two-toned young man gained his own faint blush when he felt the touch at his waist. Still, a smile lingered on his lips at the lack of distance between them, his hold on her light enough to allow her to pull away on her own. When she did just that, he released her hand, keeping his arm at her shoulders should she fall again. "Come on... Let's get something in that stomach of yours. I'm sure that'll help you feel better, yeah-?"

Sia stood once again and in a movement to quick she was at the males side. She grasped his arm at pulled him to look straight at her. "I mean it Gabe. It's not funny." She released his arm, dropping her own. Then as if the whole thing didnt happen a wide smile lit up her face. "So now what do we do Gaby!"

Asami was grateful for the boy, though she shifted slightly she held on fast to his waist, hoping he didnt mind. The blush that touched her face still wouldnt leave, she knew this because she felt the heat of it on her cheeks. "Yeah... um.. that would be nice kier."

Though Nik moved to stand, he was much too slow, the brief confrontation already over with by the time he was on his feet. When his arm was released, Gabriel all but yanked it away from the girl, straightening up and squaring his shoulders. "We don't do anything," he replied, his voice low as he moved away from her and the table. "I'm leaving."

With just a small nod, Kier smiled all the more, gently urging the young lady to move with him as he started back towards the cafeteria.

Sias expression changed to hurt just as fast as her emotions before. She turned to nik and ran over hugging him lightly. "Did I do something wrong nik?"

Basically she was clinging to him. She knew he probably knew this. But she didnt want to let go. honestly she probably wouldnt want to let go even if she wasnt like this. She knew she wanted to kiss him... but it probably wouldnt be alright to do such a thing...

"I don't know," Nikolaus muttered slowly, his brows pulling together as he watched Gabriel leave the room completely. He turned his attention down to Sia, slipping his arms around her. "No, I don't think so... I've never seen him act like this before, have you?"

As soon as he was out of the room, Gabriel ran a hand heavily over his face, lingering just outside of the double doors. Somewhere, he knew that he was the one behaving ridiculously, but he couldn't help but feel that no one around him understood in the least. No one, that is, except for Kier. If there was ever someone that he could count on for understanding some of the darker shadows in his heart, Kier was it.

Kier gently rubbed his thumb against her shoulder as they walked slowly down the hall, his gaze shifting every now and then to the wall at their right, then back ahead, for seemingly no reason at all. Though his own face retained a subtle warmth to it, he was getting used to the girl's touch all too quickly.
