The Guardians who are Taken
The Butterfly- Iris The Dragon-Tony The Cat-Fallon The Bird-Trace The Fox-Skyler The Light-Theresa The Dark-Theresa Your Guide- Deva Name: Iris Age: 22 School & Grade: St. Avoid College Location: Real World Bio: Iris hasn't had the best life. In fact she's lucky to be alive. Her past is clouded in a lot of mystery because she doesn't like to remember everything that has happened. Trace is the only one that knows most, if not all, of her past. They have been best friends forever. They are pretty much inseparable, and have been living together since she ran away from home. Iris has been the top of her class since she was young. Always forced to be the best. Always told she wasn't good enough. That she was a mistake and not wanted. Her family was always really hard on her... So, she did whatever she could to not go home. After school activities, clubs, sports, and committees. She's had a job since she was 12. She talked a nice man that ran the corner dinner into paying her under the table until she was old enough to actually have a job. Other then that not much was known about her. Guardian or Powers: Butterfly; When in the cyber world she has a set of butterfly knives like her knives at home as well as a twin blades Personality: "The Dreamer" Is not just a title for Iris. She tends to space out and think of the weirdest things. In the real world she tried to stick to herself and is very shy. She holds her friends very dear to her but has a lot of trouble making them so the few she has are friends fore life. [pretty much] She tends to have "bi-polar" tendencies. Making her moods swing back and forth for no reason. Info on Bi-polar if its needed Apperance: [ Real World ] / [ Cyber World ] ***Picture not drawn by me and is not my commission. Full credit to the people that thought it up and drew it out Iris appears in almost the same form in both worlds, but because of her powers over illusions she can change her appearance if she needs to. Only real difference is that she can have wings in the cyber world. The Balancer: A tattoo of butterfly wings on her back. Guardian Phone: Username: Mizeria Name: Tony Genuario Age: 23 School & Grade: None (St. Avoid Graduate) Location: At home. (Works as a private investigator) Bio: During his school years, Tony was the type of guy that people would hang out with before finding out how much of a nerd he was. He seemed outgoing but when it came to how things happened, his ability to see each and every detail made him seem obnoxious to the point where those involved in the problem would really care about what he was saying, and thus, he grew into isolation before going into St. Avoid's Criminal Justice program. College was the time where he truly bloomed and grew into notorious popularity. He inspired his class until one day his friend betrayed him... there Tony refuses to talk about college any further. After graduating with a degree in crime scene investigation at the age of 21, Tony joined the forensics team. However, a number of crime scenes gave little evidence to the accusations made. It was as though someone, or something had swept through each scene before he got there. After a year of toiling, he decided to leave and open up a private investigating firm. So far he's had a fair amount of success, but has yet to be presented with any case more important than relation-related suspicions (I.E. "I think my spouse is cheating on me"). Outside his profession, Tony has had a smaller and more isolated life, hardly visiting anyone unless for business. Guardian or Powers: Tony can control and create fire, burning away anyone who stands in his way with the dragon guardian. Aside from his normal ability to observe and pick out details, the dragon's fire can burn away the memory and possibly the corruption of enemies. Personality: If he's not your friend, his personality will be purely professional, acting only as he feels necessary. When your his friend, he will change into someone outgoing and a little quirky, forever loyal since so few people seem trustworthy to him. Apperance: In the real world he is a private investigator, hiding his eyes and keeping his Italian skin from reach under his coat, hat and gloves. In cyberspace, he loses the hat, gloves, and some of the sleeves to reveal a dark hero who understands what is at stake. The Balancer: "A dragon watch....How did that get there?" Tony said, looking at his wrist. Guardian Phone: A black smart phone with a dragon avatar that somehow leaks into every application on the phone (I.E. the car on the GPS is a little dragon, and Angry Birds launch dragons that breath fire onto the green pigs). Username: Funkduder Name: Fallon Orin Callahan Age: 18 School & Grade: College Freshman Location: St. Avoid College Bio: Fallon was born into an ordinary family, but with his father being in the military he was trained from a young age in different methods and strategies for combat. He always found it fascinating along with the history associated with it as well, though he preferred the warfare of simpler days of the shield and sword. Because of this, he would train for hours on end mastering different styles of swordsmanship. This caused him to carry himself differently than others, and often separated him from his peers since he seemed to be arrogant or always on guard. This resulted in him making only a handful of friends in all the places he lived, though he always enjoyed the company of others as much as time spent by himself. Guardian or Powers: Fallon has the ability to summon and wield anything made of water, ranging from its purest form as a simple liquid to artic ice. With the Cat as his guardian, he is ferocious in combat wielding his wicked curved sword, which carves a swathe through anything that dares stand in his way. Personality: Fallon was always a bit of a loner, though when he makes friends he makes them for life. He is fiercely loyal and will defend those close to him with every ounce of his being. Be warned though if you should cross him, for he has no equal in ferocity and skill. Appearance: The Balancer: A tattoo of a white tiger spanning across his left shoulder blade with a paw reaching down his upper arm. Guardian Phone: Sliding smartphone with a tribal claw imprinted on the back. Username: Alpha Name: Trace Valheim Arino Age: 22 School & Grade: St. Avoid College Location: Real World Bio: Trace was born unable to talk and struggled to get along and meet other people. As a child he moved from school to school finally finding a school that catered to his needs. He met a few people but one stood out. Iris was an amazing friend who helped him through school and even learned to sign so he could talk to others. Not long after 8th grade Iris began living with with him and the two grew very close and were inseparable. They even picked the same college to attend. Trace is amazing with computers he has created numerous programs as well as a few games he made for him and Iris. Guardian or Powers: Can control wind. He also carries around Throwing Knives in both the real and cyber world Personality: To outsiders Trace is shy closed off and unapproachable. His friends know him as an amazingly funny person and is some one who will protect those he cares. Apperance: Real World: Cyberspace: The Balancer: Guardian Phone: Username:Obbiesan Name: Skyler Rua Karasek (Sky) Age: 19 School & Grade: St. Avoid College, sophomore Location: St. Avoid College Bio: Sky's always been the only child, but at times she's give the bigger half of her lunch (or lunch money) to a friend. However, she gets annoyed easily by drama and noise. Despite the expectations of her parents, Sky's talents and hobbies run haywire when she's alone: massive piles of cloth and cardboard somehow become works of art...but some people still refer to them under the collective term of "trash". Her room back at home is clean enough; she dragged half of it into her dorm, despite the complaints of her roommate. When no one's close enough to mind, she'll blast music on full volume. Guardian or Powers: Paired with her creativity, the power of the fox is a devastating thing in Sky's hands -- her favorite ruse is to materialize a grand piano some ten feet above an enemy's head. When that doesn't work, she'll resort to her poisoned bichawa, blade, or anything else she can form. Personality: One moment an angsty artist and the next a curious little kid, Sky's temper can come and go in the blink of an eye. Whether she's her usual brooding self or momentarily distracted by a rare positive thought, sarcasm leaks too easily and unconsciously into her voice. She believes that fighting is an art, and frowns upon the hack-n-slash methods of medieval warriors. Appearance: Real world: Cyber world: The Balancer: A fox pendant she made with two lengths of copper wire stolen from her eighth-grade science lab. Guardian Phone: A black and orange sliding phone Username: Espy Name: Theresa Annalisa Tiresmyra Age: 18 School & Grade: St. Avoid College, First Year Location: Real World Bio: Theresa was raised in a strict family with no brothers or sisters. As an only child with absentee parents Theresa longed to fill a void. At first she tried collecting friends but observed how some friends back stabbed others. Frightened by this prospect, Theresa started becoming an introvert and delved into the fine arts. There she discovered characters that she could painstakingly create; they would keep her company and were unable to betray her. Her favorite is an angelic character who she gave her middle name to. Theresa pretended that she was her sister for a while but eventually grew out of it. Later in life, Theresa would completely withdraw, she would zone out and come back to. While in the trance like state it was reported that she acted completely different than normal. Theresa is smart but rarely uses her smarts for good preferring to use it for darker things such as in hacking or changing grades for cash. Guardian or Powers: Theresa has the power to create darkness and hide things in shadows; she also has a staff she uses as a melee weapon when she is not casting spells. Her other personality has the power to reveal hidden things and force the darkness back. She has a pair of twin swords with hilts that have doves on the handles. Personality: Theresa is withdrawn and rather bad at dealing with people. Her alternate personality is outgoing and easily works with other people. Appearance: Theresa in the real work has shoulder-length brown hair and dark green eyes. She normally does not care what she looks like but often wears a collared shirt and black slacks. Theresa’s complexion is pale as she does not spend much time outside. Cyber version: Theresa has long black hair with a slight curl to it and her eyes are a dark blue. She wears a mage’s black outfit with silver trimmings and carries a Blood Oak staff on her person. She will start a conflict or create confusion. Theresa also has a large pair of black wings that has razor sharp feathers despite appearances. Theresa’s other self has straight white hair that is barely inches from the ground and her eyes are completely a light blue almost white making it easy for her to be assumed blind. She wears all white armor with gold trim. Her swords are always by her side but she only chooses conflict when there is no other way. She is insanely protective of Theresa and will do just about anything for her. The white wings that protrude from her back are as soft as downy feather. The Balancer: Yin-Yang necklace made of obsidian and diamond Guardian Phone: Small black flip phone with a dove and raven charm Username: Broken Muse Name: Deva Age: Ageless, looks about 18 School & Grade: What is this school you speak of? Location: In the tallest tower of my area, normally sitting in my chair Bio: Deva was created shortly after the internet itself was. She didn’t have anyone around her for the longest time, then one day the guardians appeared; with them they created the areas of Cyberspace. Time has changed the world though, humans created things, bad things, that have corrupted the world beyond what they can fix. The only safe place is her home; the tower keeps her and the Data-mans safe due to several layers of protection. It is time to find someone who can help remake the world, someone who can stop the destruction and remake the world back to what it was, or the destruction may leak into the human world. Guardian or Powers: Protector of the Guardians, can manipulate data to send people to and from the world and see what is going on around it Personality: Though she is ageless Deva acts more like a five year old getting easily excited and hyper. She never truly sleeps but some times she will be found curled up in her chair with the beach in front of her. She is only serious when it comes to her job as keeper of the guardians and when Veda destroys something in the world. Appearance: The Balancer: I can’t go to the human world, I don’t need one Guardian Phone: Is that what I call you on? It all looks like data to me Username: Tiva Those they must defeat The Virus- Veda Hacker 1-Tasunke Hacker 2-Audrey Name: Veda Age: Ageless looks about 23 School & Grade: What is this? Petty Humans Location: hidden but can jump from place to place Bio: Veda just appeared one day no one knows why, but once she appeared others followed and they are what is fixing this world, shaping it for their own use. She doesn’t like Deva that much due to her inability to get into her realm. She some times is found in areas where webcams are so she can peer out into the real world, and sometimes she gets mad that she can’t go to it and releases a problem or two. Guardian or Powers:Movement of Data packets (EX. Removing the floor and replacing it elsewhere or herself), Creating minor Viruses, Double scythe Personality: Veda is on the slightly crazy side, after all she cause havoc in the world some of it must rub off on her. She loves her creations and doesn’t like them being ‘fixed’ by the guardians. A bit of a wanderer she doesn’t really have a connection to a certain place but finds that all of the worlds should be her home, after all she is the ruler. Appearance: The Balancer: Stuck in Cyberspace… for now… Guardian Phone: Those bits of data I eat? Username: Tiva b]Name:[/b] Tasunke Age: 23 School & Grade: Do not have either Location: Occasionally St. Avoid College Bio: Once upon a time Tasunke was a promising young student St. Avoid College. With the highest marks the school had seen in years, especially in computer programming, he was the youngest student the school had ever accepted having only been fifteen upon enrollment. But after a year or so he dropped out of school without so much as a word to why. With no real place to go upon leaving school, Tasunke became homeless and took to stealing what he needed for survival. He also took to haunting the school grounds, keeping clear of any officials however, and became sort of a rumor amongst the students. Some even developed extraordinary stories about how the shaggy man in well worn and dirty trench coat was really the ghost of a man who died in the schools basement when it was first built. That story is his favorite. Regardless he would often find himself sneaking into the school to sleep, but more often then not to gain access to the schools computers. Hacking has always been his favorite pass time. Guardian or Powers: With the chameleon as his companion, he has ability to shape-shift and charm others. It is with these abilities that he is able to introduce viruses and steal information like any perfectly programmed trojans horses can do. Tasunke finds weapons to be clumsy and often unreliable, but in a pinch where mere hand-to-hand combat is inefficient then he will use a simple, but sharp, double edged dagger. Personality: In reality he is secretive, paranoid and at times prone to random outbursts of rage. But once in the cyber world he becomes a socialite who can weave wonders with words and has a calm and pleasant manner. Apperance: In the real world he is filthy, unshaven and smelly. He stands at about six feet (though it is hard to tell since he is almost always hunched over), with long shaggy dark brown hair that, along with his short beard, hides his face. Upon closer inspection one would be able to tell he has one blue-grey eye and one brown. In the cyber world however he can appear however he chooses that best suits his needs. The Balancer: A tattoo of a small black chameleon on the back on his neck. Guardian Phone: Hackers and homeless people have no need for cell phones. Username: Mirror gardens Name: Audrey Age: 21 School & Grade: Sophmore Location: St Avoid College Bio: Audrey was born into a loving home. He grew up a good all around kid, seldom in trouble often playing at least one sport and managing to be on the honor roll most of his life. Until recently he had one steady girl friend but decided it was best to say friends rather then going to the next level. Neither one of them wanted to worry about a relationship while studying. He works a part time job at the cafe near the school and occasionally volunteers at the library. Every good boy has a darkside, and hacking is Audrey's. Guardian or Powers: His first power is the power to open rifts through dimensions and his second is the power to control inanimate objects. He doesn't have one weapon since he has the power to control inanimate objects. Personality: He is a boyscout in real life. Audrey is always one to help others when they needed and give encouragement. Some times it sounds as if he speaks naively so. In cyberspace he is a quiet mystery. He likes to drift with out speaking. Appearance: Real: in the real world Audrey has deep mahogany red hair that frames around his head and usually rest on his back in a braided pony tail. His eyes are hazel but in the right light appear green. His face is dotted with dark brown freckles. His skin is the color of the beach sand and hes tall. Virtual: In the virtual world, Audrey has long black hair that he keeps in a bun adorned with butterfly pins. He wears an all black coat that has a hood and frays at the edges near the bottom where it poofs. The cuffs are belt buckles. Outside of his jacket, Audrey wears an all black body suit that guides seamlessly with his form until it gets to his rain boots. There are various rips in his suit that look as if butterflies had floated directly off his clothing. His face in the cyber world reflects that of a Venetian mask, but with one half of a butterfly curved around the edge of the mask's left cheek. The Balancer: He has a belt buckle that has a fennec on it. It alludes to the type of virus he is. Guardian Phone:He does not use a cell phone, he uses an Ipod. Username:Poggio |

In a windowless room Deva groaned as several more screens popped up, "Fifteen! Fifteen more corruptions in the Storybook realm, why?" Sending the screens away she looked down at the two sleeping animals at her feet... "It may be time to open the portals." She looked at the walls of the room, the seven portals had never been opened, the world had been fine on its own. Veda had changed all that, she had brought discourse to this world, she and her viruses had made this mess. "Dark, Light.... please go find the others... it is time" The twins looked at her before going down the spiral staircase, both yelling at the top of their lungs.... oh the spacers in the castle would love that, it was close to midnight and most of the castle was asleep.
Pulling up a blank screen Deva typed in a string of commands, the portals all glowed a bright white light before turning a dull grey. Now all she had to do was wait for them to be stolen into this world. "Seriously why storybook land? It is for children, what do they want with the three little bears? Goldilocks all ready took their porridge." She leaned back in the chair to look at more files grumbling to herself about how much she wished that she could just play god and zap Veda herself, but every Light needs a Dark. |
Fallon had just got out of his last class for the day, and felt the need to blow off some steam. His professors always gave him grief for the fact that he fell asleep in their classes despite being able to answer all of their questions and pass their exams. He practically ran to his basement, or as he called it, The Armory. It was named as such because of the vast collection of weaponry that he had amassed along with a seemingly endless supply of targets and mirrors to watch himself as he practiced. He grabbed his favorite sword, a perfectly weighted blade, that was made for him on his sixteenth birthday. As he picked it up, he remembered that it was given to him by his father, and bittersweet emotions flooded him.
Centering himself first, he began to hack and slash, mindlessly and effortlessly flowing through the forms and motions that he had practiced endlessly since he had been able to handle even the smallest of weapons. Moving faster and with less precision, he started to let his pent up frustration and memories of the past flow through him and struck with greater force. The stationary targets did little for him as a challenge, though he managed to at least calm down some for the moment. He stopped for a minute and surveyed the damage he had inflicted and realized that it would take several long hours in order to restore the room to ideal conditions for practice again. All of a sudden his phone buzzed with a notification that he had a new email. He tried to open it, but it refused to be opened with a cat popping up on his screen before crashing his phone. "Damn it all," he angrily stated, "this would happen today of all days. Oh well, might as well try my computer." He pulled out his laptop and was greeted by a blinding light as he clicked on the message. "What the...." |
Iris finished wiping down her tables, and walked the dinner once more. Everything in its place and ready for the morning. She fixed the last salt shaker, grabbed her bags, and walked to the door. She took one last look back at the store. There was a certain sadness to its empty booths, but by morning they would all be filled. The air would smell of the wondrous food, and Felix would be singing while he cooked in the back. The wonderful baritone.. It was more home here then almost anywhere. She sighed and closed the door, locked it, and walked down the street towards the library.
Trace was there. Looking for some books for whatever computer thing he was in the middle of. She smiled to herself and pulled out her phone. "On the way. See you soon." She hit send on the text hoping that he was done. She just wanted to get home. The sun was down and most things were closed. She had been telling Tony for years he should make the little dinner a 24-hour place. He would get more business that way, but he had always refused. The wind blew past her as she walked. She was almost to the library. She kept looking back. Feeling as though someone was watching her as she went. Yet the streets were empty. All the lights in the windows were dark. She pulled her jacket close and walked up to the entrance to the library. Trace was waiting outside for her and she just smiled and grab his arm pulling him close and started the walk to the apartment. |
Theresa glanced up from her work and frowned. It was rather late and she had not realized she had been working so long. Standing up, Theresa stretched causing her legs to groan, she had not moved from the library for several hours having been so wrapped up in her own little world. She was just glad no one had thought to check on her because only half of her work was innocent, the other half being the hacking into the college database for some people. The computer gave out a soft ding signaling incoming mail and breaking Theresa out of her reverie. She sat back down to check it and immediately noticed that there was no IP address for where the mail originated. Ignoring this Theresa opened the email and not terribly surprised to see no message; she was, however, surprised at the blinding light that swallowed her up.

With both pencil and eraser in a single hand, Skyler ran through her Youtube with her free hand. Need good music. Now. Cussing around a slice of pizza she had managed to smuggle from the cafeteria, she finally found what she was looking for and went back to her drawing.
Physics homework...could wait. Too much torque, she thought. m1 x d1 = m2 x d2...So, m1 is physics and m2 is drawing...? Augh, no, have to think about other things. Her first year in MechEng was proving to be much more difficult than she had imagined. Her phone, settled into her jacket pocket (her jacket was slung careless over her chair), shook suddenly, and Sky looked at the cover. Why couldn't Len just leave her alone for a bit...?! She put the orange-and-black phone on her desk. Next time her roommate bothered her, at least the whole chair wouldn't shake. Maybe she'd play an MMO later. |
"Thank you for your time, Mr. Genuario," Ginnie Ash said to the private eye, walking past the man out the door.
"It's no trouble at all, Miss Ash. Have a nice day," he said, closing the apartment door behind her. The check that she left on his desk would be enough to pay off that month's rent with money to spare, luckily for him. It was great reprieve, now that he nearly spent all of his savings from his last job. Tony Genuario lived in simple but comfy lodgings. His apartment on Vermont Street was not too shabby, but it could hardly be called lavish. Numerous rugs had been laid across a concrete floor in the L-shaped studio. From the front door, only a medium sized, wooden desk could be seen, but walking beyond the thick red curtains on the left, a kitchen, dining room, and bedroom collided into one room that was further decorated. From there only one could see only two doors, a cellar door which led to "the lab", and a door that led to the bedroom that hid behind the wall to the work area. He hung up his hat by the door and crashed onto one of his client chairs, after grabbing his laptop from his desk. The client chairs were softer and probably more expensive than his own wooden desk chair, so when he was not around any clients, he liked to work there. Opening his web browser, he heard a familiar voice: "You got mail!" Silly Aol, he thought, opening the email page. To: GenuarioInvestigations@Aol.com From: Deva Subject: I need your help! Tony looked at the email and frowned. He turned on his virus protection and scanned the email, only to find it to be safe. So this isn't a scam of some sort. After checking the time on his clock, he looked back at the email and shrugged to himself. He closed up his last case just today, and it would hurt to have some security for the next month or so. He opened the email, and was engulfed by a bright light. |
Trace sat in the library looking through the computer checking all of the different coding books. He had not coded in about two months and this new work at home job was quite demanding so he needed to brush up on a few of his basics on his day off as he has a huge project he needed to work on when he got home. As he searched he finally found the last book he needed. He quickly wrote down the names of the three books and ran off to find them. The first two books he wanted were easy to find, but he had some trouble finding the last. Finally after a few more minutes of looking he had found it. As he took the books and walked to the front of the library his phone went off it was a text from Iris
"On the way. See you soon." He quickly closed his phone and rushed up to the front desk. Trace approached the front desk and placed the books on the counter as he signed to the lady behind the desk. “Just these three books please.” He signed quickly with a smile on his face “These are due back in two weeks.” She said back to him knowing he was mute not deaf “Have a nice day and take care of the books.” As soon as she handed him the books Trace ran outside and waited for Iris. Not even a minute passed and Trace had already spotted her. She was walking quickly towards him and as she got to him grabbed his arm without saying a word and jerked him forward as they walked off towards their apartment. |
"Today was super busy. I feel like I spent the last six hours running around in circles and getting nothing done. Tips were good though so I should be able to replace that crappy phone I've got with a new one." Iris sighed and looked around still feeling as though she was being followed. She hoped it would be better now that she was with Trace. There was no reason for her to feel so uneasy. Her phone went off in her pocket with a shrill tone startling her.
The screen read [ FELIX ] and after another second made another shriek in her fingers. There shouldn't have been any sounds. It was on silent. She answered the call reminding herself to check into that later. "Felix?" She spoke but the question was irrelevant. The phone had told her it was him so why wouldn't it be. "Iris, good thing I caught you. I'm gonna be short some people in the morning and I know you like to pick up extra shifts. Would you like to come in tomorrow and maybe work a double? I know its a lot, and I know you just got out not to long ago..." He paused for a moment thinking about something. "...I could really use you're skill. The customers love you. The staff love you. You brighten everyones day when you're there... I'll pay you double all day tomorrow." Felix's friendly fatherly voice buzzed over the phone making Iris smile a little. "You're throwing extra money at me to hook me in aren't you? I'll honestly have to think about it. You had me running around like a crazy person today. I'm tired.... I don't know if I'll be up for a morning shift." She spoke casually but knew she would do everything in her power to help him out cause he needed it. He was pretty much family in her eyes. The father she never had. "It would really help me out if you could. Let me know, or just show up tomorrow. I called everyone else already 'cause I knew you had the night shift tonight... Just try? Please?" He begged. "Fine Felix, I'll try. But you owe me for this. I expect my usual on the house tomorrow. I've got to go. G'night" Without a word from him she hung up. She looked at Trace as they turned the corner. They were almost home. Her phone beeped once more and when she looked down at her phone butterflies had filled the screen. All colors shapes and sizes, and after a moment there was only one left. A beautiful digital purple butterfly. 'Odd... what a strange virus...' she thought. Aloud she said "So I'm working a double tomorrow. I hope you can survive without me home...." Trace put the key in the door and opened it. He held it open for her as she went in. The books in his hand making it impossible to sign to her anyways. Sometimes the silence was hard to deal with, but that didn't matter. They were home. |
Sky was battling the final boss quite nicely and had cut down half its HP when she noticed her email tab flash orange. I'll check that after I finish this, she thought, jabbing F1 on her laptop.
The special attack was deflected. Of all the--! Sky had enough time to mash a few more buttons before the boss landed a blow on her character and it flew at her screen, producing a glass-shattering effect. Suddenly the MMO window winked out. She could've sworn her character's shadow stayed for half a second too long. Dammit. I'll have to rerun that dungeon later. Reluctantly, she opened the email without reading the subject line. Still furious about the boss battle, the blinding light emanating from her screen didn't quite register in her mind. |
Deva giggled as the portals blinked one by one, "One.... Cat... Two... Light....Three... Dark... Four... Dragon... Five.. Fox.... Now just my last two to be found, my two winged ones... The Butterfly and The Bird." She hoped that they would arrive soon, the twins had come back with the other five animals in tow and though she had little to make a mess of they always made one.
The cat was laying on her lap demanding attention, while the twins were pulling on the dragon's tail jumping away right before he breathed fire at them, again. The fox was trying to chase after the bird but he would fly a little to high for the fox to touch. The butterfly was in her hair before landing in the cats nose, swatting at it before rolling over the great warrior whined so he would continued to be scratched. Yes these were the great guardian animals, they acted like a bunch of children and Deva, the keeper, had to be their mother to keep her area from being destroyed by them, again. "Please let them be what we need... otherwise this is all for nothing." |
Theresa was quite confused and on guard when she opened her eyes. When had she closed them? The room surrounding her was windowless and a faint purple hue. Her eyes landed on the female in the center of the room. "Who are you?" She hissed slightly confused. Something was off with this whole thing, more off then her normal blackouts. "And where am I?" Theresa was trying to take it all in but for a sparcly funished area it was a lot to take in.

Thin, fingers slid themselves into the knot that kept the apron around his waist. Audrey moved his way through the throng of people to the counter. He folded the black tray under his arm as he slipped behind the tall coffee silos hiding away from the demanding people. Ever grinning, he didn't mind serving them. It was just a means to meet an end. His boss motioned for him to take his leave while he could. Audrey escaped through the back taking with him his ipad and an assortment of orders that were never claimed. Outside some one had been gracious enough to set up a table and chairs for the cafe chain smokers. He placed the food in an elaborate spread not really intending to eat most of it himself. He plucked a turkey club out of the pile of sandwiches and munched silently while checking the latest game stats.

Fallon woke up and tried to clear his eyes. He tried to stand up, but became instantly dizzy and was forced to eventually sit back down. After about ten seconds by his count, though it seemed infinitely longer, he started to distinguish small bits of the room he was in. His attention was drawn immediately to the chair in the middle of the room, though he quickly noticed the presence of someone else in the room....two someone elses in fact. He looked at both in turn and asked, "Who are you and where am I?" He then realized that there were creatures running around the room or settled in different corners. All of a sudden he found a cat unlike any he'd ever seen before rubbing up against him, demanding his attention. He started to scratch and pet it, with it eventually curling up in his lap and putting him slightly at ease. With that he started to study his surroundings more closely, and noticed that sitting in the middle of the room on top of a computer-esque chair, was a stunning female. She looked to be about his own age, but she looked too good to be true.
How did I get here? he wondered, Maybe it was that flash of light, but what was it? Did she have something to do with it? For now I think I will sit here and wait to see what happens. Oh well, at least this cat will give me something to do and is keeping my lap warm. |
As Trace and Iris reached the apartment Trace quickly opened the door and scurried off to his room to begin his work. As he booted up his coding program a small bird flew across the screen he wasn’t quite sure why but put it off as the logo for the new software. As he coded a few minutes later another bird zipped across his screen. Now things were getting weird, he turned on his anti-virus software and then quickly began a scan. The program quickly scanned all of Trace’s files nothing was wrong with it so why was there a bird appearing on his screen. He was so confused but decided to see if it might be coming from his e-mail. One e-mail stood out, an e-mail from someone called Deva no one Trace knew but maybe they were Iris’s friend he clicked on the e-mail only to be enveloped by a white light.

Veda smirked as she pulled on the 'golden hair' of Rapunzel walking up the side of the castle of stories, soon no one else would be able to get up here. Upon reaching the top she tilted her head to the side as Rapunzel gave her a confused look "No dearie I am not your prince, now hold still."
Creating bonds of rope Veda around the poor girl's wrists before taking out her sickle and cutting off the hair letting it slide quickly of the roof and fall to the ground.... hopefully that prince was at the bottom of it to get crushed. "Now my dear, don't worry... it is all for the best. I can't let you leave here or the children would have no story would they?" She then opened the window walking inside, "now to go add a bit more thorns to the roses....." |
Theresa took a step backwars so she could view both people at once. "I'll answer your question," She frostily informed the newly appeared male, "As soon as you tell me who you are yourself and as for your second inquiry, I have no idea myself." Her tone become less hostile as she talked and her eyes seemed to be a bit lighter as though a trick of the light. Theresa hated admitting that but she felt the other would be a bit more likely to associate with her if he felt they where in the same boat. Also, the more allies she had the easier it would be to escape if things suddenly went south.

Tony then stood himself up, grateful that his coat muffled the sound and cushioned his landing. He wasn't sure if the sound of his boots gave stares from any of the other three people in the room that he saw while standing, but in case they did, he made sure to keep his professional attire and refrain from making any comments about it. Instead, he raised an eyebrow to the woman in the middle of the room. The dazed look on the faces of the other two were reason enough to ask her of the situation instead of them. "And I suppose that you sent me the request," he said to her. A thousand thoughts raced across his mind as he examined her attire more closely: She seemed young, but the look in her eyes had shown familiarity, as though she had been in the alien place for longer than he had been in his own apartment, and seeing her work scattered around her in holograms only gave her greater legitimacy. Did she know how he got there? Does she know how to get back? Where was he? Who are the people around him? And why was there a small dragon on his shoulder? The tiny lizard seemed to radiate warmth as he rested on his shoulder. His folded red wings were so realistic that he couldn't call it a robot, but then again, the age of technology was moving fast. He wasn't sure of the advances. |
"Fair enough. My name is Fallon." He almost hadn't answered her, but something about the cat sitting in his lap made him feel that he could at least let his guard down enough to tell her that. All of a sudden he cursed not having his sword with him, and worried that if something went wrong he wouldn't be able to defend himself. He still had plenty of martial arts training to fall back on, but he still preferred to keep anyone he was fighting at a distance. All of a sudden he felt a slight pain coming from his leg...the cat had extended its claws slightly to get his attention again. Apparently he had stopped petting it. Just as he started to pet again, a new comer had appeared. He looked to be older than him or the girl he had been speaking with, though it seemed one of the creatures had taken to him as well.
"Well, welcome to the party. From what I'm seeing around the room we can expect at least three more people before everyone is here." He chuckled a bit, realizing that the stranger seemed to be tense and on guard. With this realization he started to sum the guy up, thinking of different strategies for fighting him if things took a turn for the worst or he started to threaten anyone. |
Iris went to work cleaning the mess from the night before. The once the dishes were clean she folded her clothes. Then she settled down into the sofa and pulled her laptop close.
' Just one paper to write and then I'll sleep....' she thought Working full time and going to school was hard, but you do what you have to to survive. She was half way through her paper when her email flashed at the bottom of her screen. 'One unread message....? Maybe its Trace.' She thought and opened her email up. It wasn't his email. She scanned it fast and nothing popped up. She opened it and was consumed by light. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - When she opened her eyes she wasn't home anymore. It was Wizard of Oz, but with her instead of Dorthy. The room was a faint purple. There were people and animals... She wasn't in Kansas anymore Toto. She sighed. Time to make the best of this... even if it was a dream. " What is this place? Whats going on? " |
The scent of food roused the slumbering man from his sleep. With a groan a large grimy form rolled out from a nest of garbage bags with all the grace of a drunken bear. After lying on the cold pavement for a moment, Tasunke finally sat up and yawned before getting to his feet. He wore a tattered old trench coat that smelled of gasoline and dirt, had hair that was far from being clean and the grizzly looking beard made the young man look about three times his own age. Staggering over to the small table, he plopped down on the unoccupied chair and pawed through the feast on the table. After a minute he finally settled on two turkey clubs, three cold cups of soup and a pickle. Starting with the soup he downed two of the servings before belching loudly and then grunting in the general direction of the boy with the iPad as a thank you, then proceeded to move onto the sandwiches. |
"Theresa," She answered as soon as Fallon had given his name, not knowing what had promted her to give it to three almost strangers. She was just glad she had gotten it out before the other female had appeared. A sudden warmth and coolness desended on her shoulders and she glanced curiously at them. On her right shoulder there was a throbbing orb of white energy, it was the one emmitting heat. She turned to face the colder shoulder and was surprised to see a suspended ord of what she first assumed to be darkness but then relized was nothingness. The complete lack of anything corpral was fasinating but Theresa did not allow it to distract her from the others.
The others, includding Fallon, had not yet proved to be trustworthy. Therefor, they were to be treated as guilty until proven innocent. |
The boy didn't look at the man instead he continued to type out something on his Ipad. Eventually he shoved an unopened bottle of sprite towards the man, this was his way of saying your welcome. When he reached the end of his sandwich he reached out for another one, but realized majority of the food was gone. Shaking his head Audrey abandoned his belongings and his company infavor of going back inside to fetch himself some more dinner as well as desert for his guest. They had a carrot cake on special today.

Looking at the newly arrived female, he decided he might as well share his name with the other two since he had already done so with Theresa. "Well, my name is Fallon. As for where we are, your guess is as good as mine. Two more to go and we should have the full party, at least if those portals on the walls turning gray after you arrive are any clue."
He mused, Why am I sharing this with complete strangers? I've never met these people before today, but for some reason I feel inclined to share details with them and at least try to strike up a conversation and ease some of the tension in the air. This all started after this cat sat in my lap, could it have something to do with it? He then noticed to two orbs floating over Theresa's shoulders, and wondered if they were much the same as the cat in his lap and the dragon on the stranger's shoulder. He then looked to the center of the room and asked the stunning female sitting there silently, "So, do we have you to thank for us being here? If so, why did you bring us here and what are these creatures?" |
"The creature are similar to familiars I'm assuming." Theresa said before she could stop herself. She gave an almost inauble sigh and figured she might as well continue. "They seem to have chosen just one of the arriving people to become friendly with. If they were generally friendly creatures we would have been visited by them all, but the cat went right to Fallon, the dragon right to you," Theresa inclined her head towards the one with a dragon on his shoulder. "And the butterfly right to the newcomer." She neglected to mention her own companions because they did not fit the pattern she had just laid as two had come to her and their arrival had not been as soon as she had arrived. "I'm willing to bet the creatures who are not with us are waiting for the others to arrive." Now Theresa was sure she was just making this up as she went along, there was no way this insane stuff she spouted could actually be true.
Theresa then ran a hand through her hair, a nervous tic she had never quite gotten rid of. "So, what are you peoples names? |
She grinned slightly as they kept on appearing and the chaos slowly stopped as the guardians went to their owners, just a few more.... "I am Deva and you are in my work room, as for the rest... you will find out soon enough.... Just waiting on a few more people so I only have to say this once." She sat up moving out of her chair a long black chord following her that linked into the back of the chair. "I did send for you, each and every one of you." She looked at the people noticing how much they looked like her yet so different from some of the others, they were each different no two looked the same in the face, different bases must have been the reason but she had never seen so many modifications to one base.... She pondered the idea before returning to her chair with a flop and a slight eye roll, they were children even in her world. It was going to take a lot of work to unite them as a group.... hopefully they would one day...

Pic of the butterfly-
The teal butterfly from Deva's hair flew over and landed on Iris's head accenting her hair beautifully. She felt a little better about everything. Her black curls fell over her shoulder fashionably. She was still wearing her work clothes. A white button down blouse and nice black slacks with a pair of comfy shoes. "Well, I'm Iris. It's a pleasure to meet all of you.... I think..." She smiled softly and hoped that she really had nothing to worry about. Her paranoia from when she was a kid was spiking... She wished Trace was here... Things would be better if he was. He protected her more then he realized. "I guess all we can do is wait..." |
Theresa looked on with disbelief, "You expect me to believe that you somehow, magically summoned us here?" She did not believe it no matter what nonsence anyone spouted. Theresa had never believed in magic or happy endings, why should she start how? "Hello, Iris, Tony." Theresa said inclining her head to them before turning back to Deva. "THe chances of this being a exhaustion induced sleep are quite hard, even the strange sudconsous longing that somehow became a dream is a bit easier to believe then you summoning us here. Next time, sweetie, try a different story." THeresa was ignoring the fact that Deva was most likely the oldest among them and should not be addressed as a young child.

"UUAAAAAARRRRRRRRRR--!"
Sky's low voice cracked awkwardly halfway through her quite-unfeminine yell as she felt herself falling, falling... ...and bowled into the back of a silver-haired someone. Well, some cushioning was better than none. "Where...the hell...am I." First, there was physics homework, then the boss battle, then the game shutting down, and now this crap...?! This day was quickly becoming less and less impressive. |
"Can we skip this part? I mean you said we had to wait. We're all asking the same questions. How many people are we waiting on now?! We deserve some answers." Iris spoke after the next wave of 'where the hell am I'
She didn't want to have to wait for answers. She wanted to go home. Where it was safe. Where things had finally started looking up. Life was almost normal. If this was a game. She wasn't having fun. The nice girl act wouldn't last long, but she was trying to fake it anyway. To hide the paranoia. To hide herself.... |
"Oomph!" Out of nowhere someone crashed into him, and he fell over with the cat scrambling to avoid being crushed under the mass of humans. "Who the hell fell on me? The nerve...." Then he thought that it must have been a new arrival, leaving only one more. Angrily, he got up and turned to the newcomer, "Who the hell do you think you are, crashing into me like that?" After taking a few breaths, he then extended his hand to help her, at least he thought it was a her but that was just a gut feeling, up from the ground.
After she was up, he turned to Tony and took the card from his hand. "Sorry about that, was about to take it before I had someone fall on me..." He looked at the card before pulling out his wallet and sliding the card in to keep it "safe" from wrinkling or from the mess of his pockets. Looking at Deva, "You couldn't have brought her in somewhere less around me? Maybe a few feet to the left so we wouldn't end up in a pile?" Taking a step back mentally he realized that it really wasn't anything to be upset about, he was just already a bit on edge from the day at school and then this. Out of nowhere the cat jumped up on his shoulders and curled around his neck and started to purr. Instantly a feeling of calm washed over him like the rolling waves at the beach, eroding his tension away. |
Deva giggled before pulling up another screen and typing in the command to capture that moment. "I am sorry but that is funny, most of the time the portals don't overlap on each other." One last door remained glowing, the Bird.... all ways the last one to show.... "I can send you back if need be, but the twins still seem to be bickering over you... I don't like to make my twins upset. As for the sweetie, I may act young but I am as old as this world itself."
Pulling up another screen she found the picture she was looking for, blowing it up she let them see it. "We are waiting on him, he is the last one to make contact with the portal but he isn't here yet.... Curious" She noticed that another picture was showing up... she counted the room again, five people.... but where wasn't the other twin? She needed to have a balance or things could be bad.... A dark with no light or light with no dark... disaster. |
