Maximum Ride

Ir's the only book series I truly enjoyed. I read over 50 books in one year during middle school so you could say I burned out when it came to reading. Some years later I picked up one of these books and I fell in love. ^^

Does anyone else enjoy these books? :3

Ultima 11-11-2011 11:09 AM

I personally liked the first few books. Now they're getting a little too "Go green! Save the Earth!" for me... I have read and own every book and manga so far and I'm excited for the movie(s) =3

Ishu 11-11-2011 03:36 PM

I haven't read any of the new books and I probably wont in order to preserve the original opinion I have of the books. ^^ I haven't read any of the mangas but I have seen them and skimmed through them a bit.

Leirana 11-12-2011 02:59 AM

Personally, I quite enjoy the series, though, I was only able to read the comic form of it and recently just started novels. I must say it is one of my top 20 books to read, though some of the parts is a total let down. Also, one of the reasons I kept on reading was Fang XD;;

Ishu 11-12-2011 03:04 AM

Lol Leirana. I liked the idea of him but I don't like any of the models for the newer versions of the novels. :/

Leirana 11-12-2011 03:15 AM

I can't really compare any other type of versions to the manga since i have yet read/watch them. Sadly, my library only had the manga and recently started buying the novel so I'm trying them. But in general, I prefer most novels to newer versions too. The original is always better than the "remake" ^^

Ishu 11-12-2011 03:18 AM

Definitely ^^ I don't think he actually redid any of the stories- the cover art just changed. :/

NessaRose 11-18-2011 03:35 PM

i love those book, im on vol. 3 and i read most of it, but then i had to leave our library and havent been there since

Alpha 11-22-2011 11:47 AM

I quite enjoy the books, though haven't read either of the two most recent ones. Have em, but just haven't had the time or motivation to do so. Personally think it is getting too "save the planet, go green," but still an interesting plot and characters.

Tiva 11-26-2011 12:15 PM

I still haven't read Angel but I love the books, they are getting a bit green for me but hey he wanted to put his stance on it.

Alpha 12-23-2011 11:47 PM

Well, you have read it now dear....and I still need to catch up. *rushes to grab and read*

Ducky 01-02-2012 01:28 PM

I loved the books to begin with, but went off them and stopped reading as they become so 'Green' orientated. Not that I dislike saving the environment and all that, that just wasn't what I was reading them for..

Duena 01-10-2012 02:26 PM

I don't mind still reading them despite them having gone "green". They still have an interesting plot and other aspects to keep me engaged in the reading.

Alpha 01-13-2012 10:49 PM

The "green" bit of the books did piss me off, especially since it's not what I started reading them for. However, the series is still interesting even with that.

Ducky 01-14-2012 04:56 AM

I think I stopped reading because I had moved onto more complex 'grown up' books. I was reading full blown 'adult' Sci-fi at 10, so only a few teen orientated series kept my interest for long.

Introvert Extrovert 01-29-2012 01:22 AM

I Love Maximum Ride, too! Though, if you ask me, I hated Angel. That book killed the Fax.
Though. So did the end of Fang.
Dear Fang,
Y U Betray Max!?
Sincerely,
Hateful Fan.

Tiva 01-31-2012 01:49 PM

The last book is apparently coming out in August.....

katyasha 02-03-2012 05:02 PM

I have read the manga version and I heard they are making it into a movie soon.

Kotomi 06-11-2012 12:23 AM

How many volumes are out

I've only read the manga version, so far, back when we still had borders here, I had got to volume 3

I miss being able to read it... will have to look online to see about getting some more of the books

*Points up*
Pretty much sums me up.

I need to go to my public library to read Angel. Then I have to wait for Nevermore...

Epic Rave Monster 12-25-2012 02:35 AM

From what I read, yeah. I kinda like it. Nothing really stands out for me, though. I prefer Juvenile Orion to this.

Greenwood28 11-14-2013 04:04 PM

I love the books they are so awesome fun and very enjoyable. I read them so many times. Author is amazing. I loved how it ended.

SuperShaniFunTime 11-14-2013 04:08 PM

I loved Maximum Ride up until Book 4. Then it gets a little annoying with Angel, and the whole publicity thing.

Madame-Aiko 01-15-2015 10:17 AM

I personally loved the books, but when members of their Flock started getting caught and stuff I kind had a hard time reading to the end of the series. I really liked the manga but was ticked off since it left some things out. I haven't seen the movie (not much less a trailer, either) but I'd like to.

Chloe 01-16-2015 11:52 PM

I remember owning the whole series up to book 4 but than I thought it was a continuation of 'When the Wind Blows' which featured a girl with the same name but I enjoyed the series. Ended up lending all but book four which ended up behind my sofa and I never bothered trying to get it out from behind my sofa cause I pretty much felt didn't like the direction the book was going. Compared to the first three which were a lot better, the fourth was a complete let down. I understand the need to stop pollution, etc but in a teen book? Plus I think I saved my friend from a bore fest when I gave him the first three books before I moved overseas. Or at least I hoped he read them, he has no way of returning them back to me now. XD
