Holy shiz did you feel the Earthquake?
Okay so I live in Delaware and felt the earthquake and watched my house shake around me as I too was shaking.
Earthquakes do not happen here so this scared the crap out of me! |
I heard the location was Virginia. I have a friend here in NC that says she felt it too.
|
I was in my room (in the basement) around when it happened. I didnt feel anything or hear any rumbling but apparently my mom and sister at home and my dad and other coworkers felt it. I live in Southern Connecticut.
Everyone okay? |
I live in the same house as Ultima, I might have felt my chair shaking a little bit, but other than thar I didn't feel it.
|
Yeah everyone is fine but it scared the crap out of me. But it was pretty freaking awesome!
|
What a large range on that!
|
It has its own wikipedia page already: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2011_Virginia_earthquake
I've been refreshing the page every now and then for updates. |
I don't know why but I'm surprised this topic has made its way into our forums.
My family was all freaking out and stuff. Me? Well I didn't know it happened until I came out the shower. It's a comfy place where I de-stress and travel to La La Land. Apparently the shaking wasn't substantial enough to bring me back to the Real world. ps I live in NC, just below Virginia. Hope everything's alright. I haven't tuned back into any updates but at the time I was listening I hadn't heard anything on damages other than the nuclear plants. Glad there was no explosion. OxO; |
Nope! I didn't feel it but I heard about it. I'm too far away probably. |
@Neirra- Yeah, Quebec might be too far away but apparently people have felt it all the way as south as Orlando, so you never know.
Edit: And apparently office buildings in Toronto were evacuated O.o |
Yeah exactly. And woah. * A* I've never felt a earthquake before it would freak me out if I did. I get worried even seeing tornado warnings in Ottawa. |
I'm in Missouri and I didn't feel it. I have friends in Virginia and New Jersey who were talking about it on Facebook though.
|
If it reached North Eastern Ohio i slept through it o.o
Earthquakes are scary D8 |
It was scary and awesome at the same time. XD
|
I am from New Jersey and we felt is really good. The entire mall (in which I was in) was shaking. I was on the second floor. It was crazy.
|
-muffles slight laughter-
It's a good thing everyone's safe. Apparently none of you live in Cali, ahaha... |
I used to live in California. The elementary school taught earthquake safely :3
|
Lol, Espy. You do I take it? I'll second the Californians in here then. I only briefly heard of the earthquake earlier today; I didn't realize it was large enough to be felt in other states. Personally, I think that's kinda cool. I mean, for an area that usually does not have earthquakes like that to suddenly have a 5.9er... (That's how big it was, right? I just now asked my dad about it.) |
Yeah, except, in highschool, they still expect you to be able to fit under your desk. -sigh- I'm one of the few people who can fit under both chair and desk...
|
@Espy, I was gone from California to the other side of the continent by high school... I'd have never fit under my desk then.
@Fallen, It is kind of neat to have an earthquake when you're not used to it, but it can be dangerous just like all other natural occurrences :/ |
Indeed it can. Especially if people aren't used to it. (I.E. Californians to Earthquakes, Floridians to hurricanes, etc.) Espy: Oh geez, really? Those tiny one-seaters? D; |
Yeah, this kind, haha...Most people's butts don't fit in there, y'know... /swt
|
*mumbles* Well it's true. Even if they aren't curvy in that sense, they're all super tall. California needs to seriously reconsider what it's doing about earthquake drills in high school it seems. >u>;;
|
Yeah, I -highly- doubt a plywood desk is gonna stop you from getting a concussion when a bookshelf falls on you.
|
Well we are suppossed to get hit by a hurricane this weekend too XD
Oh and yeah its crazy cause there hasn't been an earthquake in delware for like hundreds of years XD |
Espy: HA! I know right? XD Reaver: I heard of that too! Through Sunday, right? You guys are just programed have a 'fun-filled' week! |
Yeah my week is just peachy at the moment XP
|
While my fam felt it I didnt because I slept through the whole thing. ;o
