Just WHAT are you?

Sometimes people make avatars where it's a little hard to distinguish their gender. I feel safe to say I look manly enough in this komodo. But maybe others will not think so. I've certainly discombobulated other before and let's not confuse the times I myself made a mistake. =X

So anyone got examples of a time you mis-read another avatar's gender? How about other avatars you had that confused everyone else around you?

Alexander Linden 08-14-2011 01:39 PM

I tend to make mine very androgynous, but it doesn't matter to me. No one seems to call me anything but 'he'.

Blaine 08-14-2011 01:41 PM

Mine is rarely hard to tell what it is.
THEN AGAIN, I could be the bearded lady.
Just pay me 10 Au everytime you look at me. :T

Alexander Linden 08-14-2011 01:46 PM

The bearded lady? lol

Yes, pay to see Blaine!

Blaine 08-14-2011 01:50 PM

My avatars are always going to have facial hair from now on, so if you can't tell a gender from that? Here's the card to my optometrist. His name is Karen and he doesn't like when you stare directly into the his eyes. And avoid mentioning the seahorse tattoo if you can.
But he picks out the most fabulous glasses for you. Complete pro!

Alexander Linden 08-14-2011 01:51 PM

lol Tell him I love him xD

Blaine 08-14-2011 01:53 PM

WIll do, but ah, lock your doors. He rushes headlong into relationships. ;<

I tell him not to, but, he says, "I do not choose Love, Love chooses me..~"

Alexander Linden 08-14-2011 01:57 PM

LOL *falls on floor*

Blaine 08-14-2011 02:00 PM

I am completely serious. o -o

Alexander Linden 08-14-2011 02:04 PM

Are you? xD

Jurinjo 08-14-2011 02:05 PM

You two are a bucket of laughs xD

I was gonna say Alexander is an obviously male name but then again after hearing of Karen (plus all our names are male) I am second guessing.

Blaine 08-14-2011 02:14 PM

Pfffft, noooo. xD! Karen takes people out to dinner before getting intimate. Ahhaa! And you thought I was serious, bahhaa. xD

Jurinjo, Karen is a man. :D

Jurinjo 08-14-2011 02:18 PM

Yes Blaine, exactly. ;)

Blaine 08-14-2011 02:19 PM

Karen could be interested. ;>

Alexander Linden 08-14-2011 02:26 PM

Wait... Karen is a real person? xD

Jurinjo 08-14-2011 02:28 PM

I he just said Karen wasn't. Blaine you're confusing us!

Blaine 08-14-2011 02:28 PM

In your heart...he could be..<33

Alexander Linden 08-14-2011 02:34 PM

lol Blaine is confusing me xD

Blaine 08-14-2011 02:34 PM

Just believe and dream and you can have your very own Karen. With you. Always. And Forever. Unable to escape...

Alexander Linden 08-14-2011 02:38 PM

*puts Karen in a jar*

Blaine 08-14-2011 02:40 PM

He is far too large for a jar. :/

Take this bucket.

Jurinjo 08-14-2011 02:41 PM

Ooh could we decorate the bucket? I got paints! 83
(also we are very off topic here)

Blaine 08-14-2011 02:48 PM

My avatar does not have boobs as is evident by my lack of covering over my chesticle area which therefore incites the lack of enlarged breast tissue. If it were impossible to gather these fact, then a visit to Karen, my optometrist whom would love a painted bucket, Jurinjo, is required.

Alexander Linden 08-14-2011 03:23 PM

Is he like Odo from DS9?

Blaine 08-14-2011 03:30 PM

No idea. :D Who dat?

Alexander Linden 08-14-2011 03:36 PM

Nevermind then xD

Blaine 08-14-2011 03:39 PM

I failed you. orz

Alexander Linden 08-14-2011 04:03 PM

Nah, not everyone is a Trekky. xD

Blaine 08-14-2011 04:33 PM

Sadly, no. U ^U Prefer them Star Wars.e ueb

Spent 3 hours on the wiki one day, Juuust reading.

Alexander Linden 08-14-2011 04:41 PM

I love Star Wars. >.>

Sadrain 08-14-2011 04:58 PM

Usually, my avatars are female, and it is rather visible. The same goes if I dress up as a male. There have been only few times when it's not clearly either of them.

Jurinjo 08-14-2011 05:03 PM

You got them saved Rainy?

This one is effeminate so I understand why people thought he might've been she.

But some how my purple ninja form the Taskal War looked so feminine I got the mistake several times.

SilverPhoenyx 08-14-2011 05:46 PM

I often get mistaken for human.
LOL!

Espy 08-14-2011 06:33 PM

I think the purple one was the avi that made me go "...holy shet, Ju's avi's are awesome."

...Eh, nowadays, I've almost always got a male avi.

Reyoki 08-14-2011 06:46 PM

I tend to make rather masculine avatars. Even though I've never actually used a male base on this account, I've had several people refer to me as being male. It's rather amusing when they find out I'm not.

Espy 08-14-2011 06:48 PM

-tilts head- I've never thought of Reyo as male. Speaking of which, once over an MMO, someone told me to prove that I'm a girl (I play as a guy)...Voice chat did not work out well. I've a low voice, and the reply back was "...Sounds like a guy."

-facepalm-

Reyoki 08-14-2011 06:53 PM

It's a lot less obvious when I wear cloaks. That's usually when others get my gender wrong.

It's gotten a little better now that I refer to myself as a fujoshi in my signature. It's a female-specific term, and the male equivalent is fudanshi.

Sadrain 08-14-2011 07:33 PM

Lol, I remember that 1st one! xD I really was a little "wuh gender is dat 1" at it. xD 2nd one is pretty clearly masculine, imo, though.

All my avvies should be, but some were from another site... xD Mostly, you can tell gender what my avvie is, though, even if it is manly dressed girl, such as these: http://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z...ars/TrAv72.png
http://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z...iny/TrAv79.png

Oh... this one... http://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z...y/TrAv21-1.png I don't even remember my self if it was guy or gal, I would think gal, but.. xD
http://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z...y/TrAV42-1.jpg
http://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z...iny/TrAv49.png (girl, but hard to notice)

Behemoth 08-14-2011 07:59 PM

For some reason, my avatar always gets confused for being a girl...which is really, really confusing, since I've never put a real shirt on him that covers anything. Is it the earrings? O.O

Rem 08-14-2011 08:07 PM

It might be the lips, I had an avatar that got confused for a girl (by an artist drawing it) because it used those lips lol
(And that's what they said made them think it was a female avi too haha even tho I was showing the stomach and the chest was faaairly flat)
The somewhat willowy form of the male avis here can confuse tho

Although I like to think my avis just come across as so MANLY that it's impossible to say otherwise. SO MANLY
YOU CAN SMELL THE MANLINESS THROUGH YOUR SCREEN
WHAT DOES IT SMELL LIKE HUH

witness these sexy pecs
*flexes them and makes them bounce* hup hup hup hup
