Here is a brief biography on my character.

LUCY VALENTINE

Lucy is a well-known vampire from her families wealth and power. They rule over the continent that they live on. As a child Lucy spent most of her time locked in her bed room. Since she was wealthy she was taught to read and write. She would spend most of her time reading. It was a tradition to keep the princess away from the outside world until she was an adult. That didn't stop her from sneaking out every so often, she managed to remain uncaught. Lucy tended to go by the docks, she loved to listen to the stories that the sailors and pirates told. When she first heard of pirates she wasn't quite sure what they were. Then she knew all about them. She fell in love. She had the desire to sail across the vast seas, gathering a strong crew and gaining valuable treasures along her journey.
When Lucy turned eighteen, she spoke of her dreams, her parents locked her away in her room. They refused to allow their reputation to be ruined by their hopeless daughter. One night, with the help of a maid, Lucy successfully escaped. She stole some treasures and her father's most prized possession. His ship. Then she left.

Jude Vortage

Jude was born into a family that acquired a life he did not choose. His entire creation had been surrounding the need for a man to be next in line for the thrown. Having been forced into the life of loyalty, he'd never truly known what it was like to slip up and make his own mistakes. The thought of being bred to be a perfect little prince had tasted bitter to him, it was something he refused to swallow. He refused to be born into a kingdom in which it's subjects weren't treated fairly, the level's in the house alone were to much for Jude to withstand. He could hardly fathom the lack of equality that hung in the house, among the maids, and servants.

In spite of what he'd been told by his father, Jude had left at the age of 16, when he was soon to be entitled to the throne, to have the duties of a king brought upon him as a test. He ignored the challenge. Jude had dreamed of being in a place in which their was nothing but equality, where he could be distant to the family in which he believed was only his own by his DNA. Jude took on the role of a pirate. Having set sail, stowed away on the ship of a man who worked often down at the Harbor, he risked his life for a taste of what was real. When he'd been discovered, the man from the dock had found something in him, to which the pirates were held back from cutting him limb from limb, and tossing his mangled body into the ocean.

The man saw in Jude what was to make the greatest pirate that ever lived.

( I'm sorry, this is so long. )

The sea roared as it pushed against the ship, birds chirped in the early hours of the morning. The wind gently pushed the ship forward as she steered it. A small table stood next to her. On it was a map with a compass settled on top of it. A rather unnoticeable island had been circled on the map, it was her destination.

Lucy had dreamed of a life at sea. Ever since she was a young child she took an immense interest in pirates. Since she was wealthy she was taught to read and write. Her nose was always buried between the pages of a book. Lucy dreamed of finding lost treasures, she dreamed of travelling around the world. On her eighteenth birthday she told her parents that she wanted to become a pirate. They disapproved of this and showed this by locking her away in her room. She was not allowed out until she agreed to become something of higher-status. Angered by this, Lucy refused to do as they wished. Anyone sent in to convince her otherwise was killed.

Lucy waited until the entire island was distracted to depart. When she saw ships approach the island late at night she knew it was the right moment. Lucy escaped as the villagers were distracted by their guests. Pirates who are been tricked by rumours to come to the island. They would be feasted on. Little mercy would be shown because they had set the homes on fire. As she sailed away she watched flames consume the village. She secretly hoped that the castle would burn to the ground. She smiled, thinking of her father's face when he found out that she had taken his most prized posession. His ship.

Her icy eyes grew wide as a island came in to view. It was still quite some time away, yet she was still excited. Her heart began to beat enthusiastically in her chest as it became more visible. She had made it! Lucy couldn't control herself, she began to laugh. She jumped from her post, and rushed across the deck to the anchor. Gripping it, she threw it overboard. Once the ship had come to a full stop she uncovered the little row boat.

Then her eyes caught something else. It was a fast approaching ship. Her stomach became entangled with knots. Fuck, she thought. Lucy was all alone and was about to have her first encounter with pirates. To make things worse they were probably humans. She had never seen humans up close before, she wondered if she was stronger than them.

She stood quietly, her body tensed up as the ship pulled up next to hers. She closed her eyes as she heard something thrown overboard. An anchor. Her heart fluttered in her chest as she heard another noise. A large plank had been placed between the ships as a make shift bridge. When she opened her eyes men stood before her, grinning.

Lucy had tried to fight them, but it was useless. They took her treasures, they took her ship and threw her over board. They had given her a plank of wood to use to stay afloat. How kind, she thought bitterly. Her nails dug in to the wood as she watched them sail away. Her body trembled, the water was unbearably cold. She rested her head on the plank of wood and sighed heavily. There was nothing she could do. She held back hysteric sobs.

(Sorry for taking so long)
Jude sighed softly as he leaned over the rail, a shaking hand running through snowy white hair as his eyes scanned over the black water. "You know, there's something calming about being here, in the dark.." he said softly, he had men aboard, and he'd speak to whomever would listen. Though he may had been the Captain, he was relaxed, and tonight things were calm, chilly, but there wasn't a cloud in sight. His head tilted back, eyes engulfing the scene of the stars, each little spec of light. He searched through the constellations carefully. He'd never been one to use a map during the night, he liked navigation through the stars, because they weren't simply some piece of paper, they didn't just sit there with some map makers name scrawled along the back. You didn't need to know how to use a compass to which way was where. They'd be in town in a couple of day's, and they'd stalk up on food and clean water before attempting a voyage to the Bermuda triangle, where it was told no man had left alive. For Jude it was worth the risk. But as he glanced back at his ship mates, each time he thought of how he'd never care to see the land, but these Men, they searched for riches only so they could support their families.

Part of Jude questioned if 5 years ago he'd really made the proper decision, to leave the castle, he could have done so much good on land. If only he could have kept himself controlled. He could have been a great king, and fixed all of his parents wrong doings. But did the people wish to be fixed? He guessed he'd never know what the people wanted. Jude only knew what he wanted, what his crew wanted, and what people had originally wanted of him. His slender pale hands pushed hard against the rail, forcing himself to rock casually, back and forth on his feet before he strode along the deck. "Who's steering.." he mumbled to himself as he climbed the steps. Letting the man at the wheel rest as he took hold of it.

He could stare at black water for hours, and wonder what was underneath it. Deep down, below the ships, he wondered how many wrecks they could explore, how many precious jewels they could find. But there was always something terrifying of black water, to Jude if you couldn't see what was down there, it meant it could be anything. Some nights he felt childish, not wanting to look at the water in fear he'd discover something he'd never hoped to see. He shuddered at the thought of not being able to see something that could see you. He brought his eyes up from the floor, long enough to notice something floating about in the water. "THROW THE ANCHOR!" he called to his men as he jerked the wheel to the right. He wouldn't want to hit it, he thought he saw something. He could see the body approaching. If he dropped the anchor now they wouldn't crash into her, and the waves from the boat stopping would have less of an impact on whatever it may be.

"It's a woman.." he breathed finally as he dropped a row boat off the side, scaling the side of the boat as another man took the wheel from him. His eyes widened, was she dead? he wondered. He grabbed the ore, slowly forcing himself closer to the woman. He closed his eyes, sucking in a hard breath as he slowed. He prayed she wasn't dead. Something about dead people had always made him squarish. He'd always made sure to watch out for every living soul. He was rebellious and a pirate, but the fairytales never told the truth about how he was kind. He dropped the ore in the boat, reached out, he drew his hands back, the water was like ice. "You're safe.." Jude whispered to the corpse before him as he pulled up at the plank, forcing her up into the boat, his cold shaking hands tried worked around the ropes, untying her. "Are you alive.."he mumbled. His hand slowly reaching for his blade to cut away her sleeve so he could easily access her pulse. "Say something.. Do something.. Anything.." he mumbled as he said in the boat. He cut a slit in her sleeve, pressing his thumb against her wrist, he could feel it. He breathed hard. She'd come around if she hadn't already.. He slowly paddled them back to the boat, waiting at the bottom for any assistance his crew could offer. The boat was risen from the water, and up high enough for the men to help her out of the boat. He tossed the plank on board, lifting her softly, he handed her to the men above, climbing out on his own. "Pull the anchor up, find her a bed, and a blanket, dry her off, feed her, we'll drop her off at the next village." he said sternly as he watched his men scurry about.

nyreen 07-29-2011 05:00 PM

The cold had finally gotten to Lucy. Her body felt weak, her head began to spun. Then she had fallen asleep, clutching the plank of wood desperately. She hoped that she would not let go as she dreamt.

When she awoke she was somewhere else. Somewhere that she had not been before. At first when she felt dry and comfortable, she thought she was in her bed. Had everything been a dream? Her eyes opened and then she knew that she was wrong. I'm not at home, she thought, where the hell am I? She sat up, her heart began to pound in her chest. She was scared. Her eyes then fell to her body, she was not wearing her clothes. These were someone else's clothes. They were rather big on her petite frame.

She brought herself to the side of the bed, she wiggled her toes in delight. She could feel her legs, she could feel her whole body. She was alive. An overwhelming feeling of relief washed over her. How good it felt to be alive. Lucy stood, she screamed when she noticed someone in front of her. Then laughed when she realised it was her own reflection. A mirror stood in front of her.

Her eyes examined herself. She twirled, her dark hair fell upon her face, the over-sized shirt flowed effortlessly. It was so big, she looked like a fool. She brushed her hair from her face. Then she heard noise from above, moving and talking. It didn't sound like there was one person. There were many. She ran her hand along the wall of the room then found herself on the deck. Her eyes look around her. She was on a ship.

MuseSick 07-29-2011 05:12 PM

Jude's skin crawled as he herd the high pitched scream, one in which he'd herd before from one of his men, but was doubting it was a crew member at this point. He let go of the wheel, taking long strides along the deck, his feet slapping along the stairs loudly as he head towards where he believed to have herd the scream. His eyes set upon the female and his heart fluttered. "Good Job men.." he said gently. He was thankful she was alive. He'd seen mangled bodies before, when he'd first became a pirate, that of a small child, who had come across the wrong pirate ship. He glanced up and down, taking in her features. She looked strange in his clothing.

"Well, aren't we glad to see you up and about." he said finally, standing before her he leaned against the railing behind him. "Did you sleep well, can anyone get you anything?" he asked. Jude never really had been one to miss a beat, he could fire question after question aimlessly, and still manage to remember all the questions he'd asked after getting long and detailed answers.

"I hope they accommodated you nicely. I'd found you strapped to a plank laying in the water. Your dress was soaked so my Men had removed it and set it out so it can dry in the sun when it's finished rising. I suspect it'd be dry by about Noon, so you will no longer have to wear my clothing, M'lady." he said as he bowed his head, removing his cap from his snowy white hair in a gentle manner before placing it back where it rightfully belonged. "You're safe here." he said quietly. "We wont hurt you, and we'll drop you off at the next stop, which is granted a few day's away, but not far none the less. " he was brewing with questions but calmed himself long enough to let her have her own word in.

nyreen 07-29-2011 05:23 PM

Lucy watched as a man approached her, she tilted her head and observed him as if she were an animal. Curiosity filled her eyes. Her eyes bounced from his face to his clothes to his body language. She listened closely to his voice. The way he spoke made her heart flutter. He was the captain. She couldn't help but smile. She wondered what his name was.

"I slept well," she answered almost shyly. She felt eyes on her, some crew men were looking. What were they thinking? "Thank you." Lucy twirled her hair around her finger playfully. "I got myself in quite a bit of trouble. I was being a irresponsible fool, pirates stole my ship and everything on it then tossed me in the water as if I were nothing but trash." Her lips pouted. "I was alone, I should have known better. I should have been better equipped." Her eyes met his.

She placed a finger to her lips and chewed nervously. "You're a nice change from what I first experience with pirates. You're so kind, thank you." Her cheeks felt hot, she couldn't help but blush. Lucy had never held a conversation with anyone, except for her parents, servants and of course those awful pirates that had robbed her. Though she didn't talk much to them. "My name is Lucy." She felt the sudden need to introduce herself. She found that it would be rude not to. She reached her hand out to shake his.

MuseSick 07-29-2011 05:36 PM

Jude smiled down at her as he shook his head with a chuckle. "That's okay, once upon a time I guess we all did stupid things. I mean- I stowed myself away on a ship filled with men who would have killed me, and five years later here I am a Captain of my own ship. Everyone learns something from their mistakes, you'll learn to have a sword, or gun, and a crew." he said as he looked around, waving his hand at the guys. "Sails- Risen, the winds picking up guys!" he called as he looked back to her. "You know- I'm surprised they just threw you into the water, the men- Pirates, can be much more vile than that. I was surprised to find you clothed, let alone alive." he admitted nodding his head curtly.

He watched the blush spread along her cheeks and a meek smile spread along his lips. He hadn't much practice with women, being captive in a castle for quite some time, and leaving to a ship filled with men at 16, he'd never really gotten any practice. He took it as a sign he wasn't doing half bad. At least she was done screaming. "But- unlike the average ship filled with pirates, we wont hurt you. We're very much against the lack of equality between men and woman. " he said as his hands rubbed along the rail.

"I'm Jude Anthony Vortage, I'm the captain of Pearl." he said softly as he slid his hand into hers, pulling her hand up he leaned down and kissed the back of it softly. "Welcome aboard, whatever you need Ms.Lucy, I will, and the rest of the crew will be at your services. Well.. As long as you stay out of the way.." he added. "I don't want you to fall over board.." he teased laughing. "So Ms. Lucy, why were you sailing away anyways?" he asked.

nyreen 07-29-2011 05:55 PM

Lucy listened to his story, she smiled at what he had done. He was right, everyone made mistakes and there was always something to learn from them. She wouldn't allow herself to end up in such a frightening situation again. If only she had let her friend's come along, she would have had help. Though, she did prefer to keep them out of danger.

"I was terrified," she croaked. "I have heard of what men are capable of doing. I know that it could have been far worse. I'm just happy to be untouched and alive." She never looked away as she spoke, she was taught that it was disrespectful to advert someone's eyes. "I appreciate your kindness, I will never forget it."

Lucy's body felt numb when Jude placed a kiss upon her hand. He was such a handsome man, he was such a gentleman. No one had ever done that to her. For a moment it felt as if she had swallowed her ability to speak. Her cheeks burned. She registered all of the information that he was giving her. The pearl? That sounds quite familiar.

She cleared her throat, attempting to seem grown-up. "To an island, I had read about it when I was a child. I suppose that it became an obsession of mine. I had always wanted to travel there." She began to play with the end of her sleeves. "They took my map though, they took everything. I have no place to go as well because I abandoned my family. They would never accept me back."

MuseSick 07-29-2011 06:05 PM

Jude's mind wandered, it was something he did often when people spoke to him. He could take meanings and twist them altering them into something completely different. What men are capable of, he pictured a man standing on a ball, rolling around as he juggled, it made him chuckle inside. Thinking of how innocent things used to be just him and the jester in his room, the jester teaching him jokes to tell his maiden when he was older.

"You should prepare for the worst out here, yet hope for the best. There are many awful people out in the world, both Pirate and non Pirate, but there are also, many wonderful, loving creatures of the land. The sea posses both. " he said as he motioned out to the water, turning his back to her to inhale. "It's scent alone is enough to keep a person coming back. " he said, the blood in his veins pumping as he thought of swimming in the ocean, his eyes opening wide as he thought back to having nearly drown as a child.

"Island?" he asked curiously. "To each it's own. I've never been much for land myself, but I guess that maybe an island would be kind of like being on the sea, small, yet large enough, and close to the water. It's such a long distance from where I was to the ha-" he paused as he wiped around to look at her.

"You're a run away?" he asked sadly. "I could take you home.." he mumbled as he glanced at her. "To be honest- I should take you home, but if you're a run away I'm assuming home is the last possible place you'd want to go. The villagers are pleasant people, so if you really can't return home, I'm sure you wouldn't struggle to find a safe place, and somewhere to work." he said nodding. "Can I get you breakfast?" he asked as he held his hand out to her, bringing it in to loop it so she could hold it. "I'm sure I can scrounge up something for you to enjoy eating." he said hopeful.

nyreen 07-29-2011 06:17 PM

"I have always wanted to travel," she said and smiled. "I was taught to read and write at an early age. My father and mother preferred not to spend much time with me. They bought me books and toys to keep me quiet. I use to sneak out of my home and wander around the docks." Lucy began to twirl her hair around her finger again, remembering when she was young. "The sailors and pirates use to tell me all about their lives. I fell in love. When I discovered books about pirates in my parents library," she couldn't help but laugh. "I spent days reading them. I even read them twice. Maybe more."

Lucy listened to Jude, his voice was magnificent. She couldn't help thinking that. She didn't know what it was. When he abruptly stopped her face fell. She was afraid that he was angry that she was a run-away. She was afraid that he would take her home. Why am I scared? He won't be able to find my home. It's not on maps and whoever discovers it does not live to tell the tale. Then she thought, he doesn't know what I am. "Please, don't take me home."

When he mentioned food, her stomach growled. She didn't want human food. She was hungry for something that was entirely different. Her throat felt dry and she felt sick. Lucy had not fed for a few days, when she left home she had not thought of taking some bottled blood. She was in too much of a rush. I'm an idiot, she thought. Her heart felt as if it had skipped a beat when he took her hand in his. "I'm not hungry," she said politely.

MuseSick 07-29-2011 06:35 PM

Jude glanced at her, reading and writing at a young age was impressive, considered a good portion of people couldn't do either at all, let alone have the skills to teach their offspring. "My parents tried to teach me how to read and write, but I was never much of a learner, of course I knew how but I preferred drawing, to reading and writing. My father thought it was a waste of paper, doodles that were lost or destroyed. But then again, my Father also assumed I'd take hold of the throne when he passed." he said it casually. Everyone on his ship knew what he was, who he should have been, and he made no effort to hide it. He ignored the growling, assuming it was one of his mates.

"Oh alright, well then I don't want to make you stand here, I'm going to make breakfast, if you'd like to help me. We've got many men to cook for and none of them know how. Pardon me for assuming you may know a thing or two about cooking. I find many woman are taught how to cook, and hell you probably could cook much better than myself, just by standing in the kitchen," he admitted with a chuckle as he wrapped slender fingers around her hand. Bringing her along back into the cabin she'd come from, he led her past the bed she'd been lying in and down another flight of stairs.

"This is the Kitchen, I mean it's kind out out dated, but of course, what is expected." he said "a kitchen filled to the brim with pirates, all trying to cook at once, let alone knowing how to cook at all. Most men here can't, that's one thing I can't force my crew to do either, is cook. " he said nodding as he pulled out what appeared to be a pot, throwing peeled potatoes, meat, and carrots in it. "Well.. I hope they enjoy stew.. again.." he said chuckling. "We're short on supplies right now. That's why we're heading into the village." he said running a hand through snowy white hair as he tossed his hat on the counter.

nyreen 07-29-2011 06:47 PM

"You were a king to be?" she asked. It wasn't as if he had not made it clear. She did not expect another person out in the world to be like her. She wondered if Jude had had a horrible relationship with his parents. Her father had not been pleased when the doctor announced that he was in fact a she. He had expected a boy. This didn't stop him from using a disappointing situation to his advantage. He quickly found a suitor for Lucy. It almost seemed as if he had picked a person who was the exact opposite of her. She hated him. When she begged her mother to stop this, her mother beat her without hesitating. It had been the first time that her mother had done such a thing. She suspected that her father had told her to, he was rather controlling.

Lucy allowed her hand to embrace Jude's, she had never held hands with anyone except for her mother. She followed almost obediently. "I don't mind helping, I take no offence." she said pleasantly. "My mother loved to cook before her accident, she taught me basics. I also use to sneak in to the kitchen and help after she had finally agreed to hire cooks. They seemed to love me, they said that I was a natural cook. My father caught me one day. He was very angry." As they entered the kitchen she felt his hand slip away from hers. "He yelled at me, he even hit me. He said that I was distracting the cooks. I was wasting his money. Then he made a comment about how he thought that the food tasted different. He made it different sound like a bad thing. He didn't like change."

Lucy stood still for a moment, she felt awkward in the unfamiliar space. "If you want," she began and approached Jude. "I can stay with you, I can cook. I can even clean the ship."

MuseSick 07-29-2011 07:00 PM

Jude blushed as he looked at her. "Yeah, I was a king to be actually, but I decided that I didn't want anything to do with being a king.. I mean my family was never exactly graceful or decent. They treated their subjects like trash and I couldn't stand it. I mean sure I could have stayed and over taken the thrown, and completely redone the whole kingdom. But I couldn't wait that long. I couldn't wait for my father to croke just so I could be a better king. Besides half of our subjects hate my family, and I doubt they'd listen. That's why when I stowed away on a ship, I was saved by a man, the rest wanted to kill me for the things my father had done. It's a shame you can't meet him, he died after my 3rd year on the boat." he said as he guided her into the dining room, sitting in a chair he picked up a dart and threw it at the map.

"Your- You're of royalty aren't you. It's very rare you hear of a family that isn't royal that had enough Rubies to have a servant of any kind. What kingdom are you from?" he asked. "I myself am from, Elnoria." he said as he sat down, pouring them both a glass of water. "IT's awful that your parents treated you like that, as if you were nothing.. I'm very sorry they did that to you..I can't stand the thought of abusing a women, a man who deserves it on the other hand, is a different subject." he said as he folded his hands around his drink.

"Stay.. Here on the ship..? I'd say it's to dangerous but you seem to know.. SOME things about being a pirate.. But honestly I don't know if you'd like to stay, we're heading out to the Bermuda Triangle.. and you could die.. Well.. We all could.." he said his voice trailing off, his eyes glued to the wood pattern in the table now. "I don't know you well, but I don't think I could turn around and take your life and lay it in my hands. These men are willing to die at all costs, with the hopes that if they find money, jewels, anything of value they can support a family of their own. You.. How old are you?" he asked looking down at her. "You're young..You could do such great things.." he whispered.

nyreen 07-29-2011 07:25 PM

A smile crept across her face as she saw Jude blush. She followed him in to the dining room and pulled out a chair to sit in. Lucy leaned backwards and closed her eyes for a moment. Her smile faded as he questioned her about her royalty. She opened her eyes and looked at him. "You caught me," she said, she couldn't help but shrug. "I am of royalty, I should not have spoken so much about myself. I gave it away, didn't I?"

Lucy wasn't sure if she should or even could speak of her kingdom. She took her glass and drank a bit, attempting to avoid answering him. "I can't tell you where I'm from. I can't tell you anything." she finally blurted out. It felt as if she couldn't breath for a moment. Her eyes looked away from him and she looked around the room nervously.

"I would rather stay here and have a place to call home, rather than be homeless for the rest of my life amongst people who aren't like me." she took another sip from her glass then placed it on the table. She ran her finger in circles on the top of it. "I'm strong, I can help. I can fix weapons, I can cook, I can clean. I can also protect myself, perhaps I couldn't against those pirates earlier... but I can with help." She wasn't too sure if she should lie about her age or not. Lucy decided that if she lied to him and he found out, he would probably not trust her. "I'm eighteen."

MuseSick 07-29-2011 07:37 PM

Jude shook his head up and down, nodding in agreement. "Yeah I think it was the servant thing. I mean there's nothing wrong with being royal. I guess we're both kind of in the same boat, parents who don't understand us, born into something that we never wanted. It's a shame you can't choose thing's like your name, or your family. I mean- I think I'd disown everyone but my Mum in a heart beat. But I think the things we endure make us who we are. I wouldn't be a Pirate, let alone a Capetian, if no one had driven me mad with their lack of equality, I'd still be in my kingdom, locked away in my room, and I'd probably love my life.." he said nodding. "There are both pros and cons of being a Pirate.. You must know this.." he said gently. "Of course you do- you've read about it. But reading isn't quite like living.." he said gently as he rubbed her hand softly.

"We'll see how you do the next few day's, and the crew and I will decide collectively when we arrive if we'll need to purchase another pillow and blanket. I myself don't sleep much so if you DO end up staying, you can sleep in my bed. Since I prefer to be awake in the night time." he nodded. "But- as for now you can learn the ways of the ship, and fall in line. " he said as he looked up at the ceiling. "I'm not going to promise you can stay, because although I am the captain, I will not put discomfort to my crew." he said. "Since I don't really believe it to be fair. I'm not the only one running the boat, and hell they could over throw me if they wanted! There's about 20 of them and 1 of me. They could feed me to the fish and no one would find me. But they wont because I believe in equality. They follow what I say, but at the same time, we listen to one another." he nodded.

"You're only 18?" he asked as he looked down at her. "Well you're not a child, so you're old enough to be here, I mean of course being a pirate has no age limit, I'm 21, I've been on here since I was 16. So I can't speak of you not being OLD enough. Because it'd be unfair, like most things in life. " he said with a chuckle. His hand running through his hair as he twirled his hat along his finger.

"I never really treated my servants as... servants. They were all very kind people. I had the same maid ever since I was born. Actually, she delivered me. She was my teacher as well. My parents made sure to get an educated woman to take care of me." Lucy blushed as Jude rubbed her hand. "She drew me bathes, she helped me pick out my clothes. If I let her, she would clean my room. I use to try to give her my toys, but she wouldn't take them." Lucy laughed, then she realised she had begun to caress Jude's hand as well.

"I understand if they don't want me to stay," she said and nodded. "I know that they might feel uncomfortable having someone around that they barely know. I know that it might also be because I'm a woman and you clearly don't have much of those around. I wouldn't want to start any trouble. I'm not a bad person, I can be useful. I can prove myself to them and to you. I promise. I'll mind my own business, I won't snoop or try to control anyone. I'll keep to myself." her eyes looked in to his, she couldn't turn away.

"I have to tell you something," she whispered. She didn't want anyone else to hear, even though she knew that no one could. "You might not want me around when I tell you. You might even laugh and think that I'm lying. You might think that I'm insane."

Jude smiled, a soft, lopsided, twisted, Jude smile. He shook his head as he watched her hand rub along his. He nodded encouraging her to go on, that he was listening. But their moment was cut short. He herd the crew calling his name and sighed softly. "Well, time to prove yourself, whatever it is I'm sure you can tell me once things are taken care of upstairs.." he said as he let go of her hand, his cloak swishing behind him as he ran up the stairs, finally getting on deck he could see an approaching ship. He reached to his side, feeling his sword softly, his hands touching up upon the grove work on the handle. This was perfectly imperfect. Jude watched as the ship approached, dashing downstairs.

"Okay- You need a sword, and holster to hold it, do not draw until they make the first move." he said as he spun around the cabin, looking for a sword that would suit her body, and a holster small enough. He tossed the holster to her feet along with the sword. "I'll see you up there, be quick Lucy. We need all the man we've got, if we look like we've got enough they'll pass. It's why you were attacked, pirates prey on ships that they can take over." he said as he poked his head around to look at her. "Time to prove yourself." he said as he raced back up the stairs, he could hear the plank setting on their boat, his eyes narrowed. There were two ships.. One held a crew and the other held the Captain, the very man that had thrown Lucy in the water.

But no one but Lucy knew that. Jude watched as the men on the boats withdrew their swords. The crew yanked their swords out of their sheaths and held them ready, surrounding the cabin, a couple men around the steering wheel. Jude stood, his sword pointed at the ground, the tip resting on the wood of the boat. "Try us.." he muttered. "Ready Men.. LEAVE NO ONE!" he called as they charged. Swords were flying everywhere. Jude remained fighting near the door so that Lucy could have a better entrance into the fight, so this way she wouldn't be ambushed while she was alone down there. People had been after Jude and his ship for ages, and there was no way he was going to lose either.

nyreen 07-29-2011 08:11 PM

Lucy felt nervous, she was about to tell him what she really was. What if he tries to kill me, she thought and breathed heavily. Then she heard yelling, she heard feet stomping across the deck above. Her eyes widened and she felt Jude slip his hand away from hers. Suddenly she was whisked away from her thoughts and had to tend to more important matters.

Her hands touched her waist in an insecure matter. "I'm so petite, I'm sorry." she said and blushed. When he tossed her a holster, she bent down and took it in her hands. It was a bit loose, but was better than nothing. The sword felt heavy. Oh god, she thought, I've never held a sword before. I've never fought. I'm useless. She smiled at Jude, attempting to not seem nervous.

Once making sure that the holster was on appropriately, Lucy ran to the deck of the ship. She nearly tripped on the stairs in her hurry. At first, nothing felt real. When her eyes rested on her ship, she felt as if she couldn't speak. Then she saw him. The captain who had left her for dead. He was standing, watching her with a hunger in her eyes that she had never seen before in a man. Her eyes darted to Jude. "That's my ship," she yelled.

When she looked back the man was walking closer to her, his sword drawn. Her hands shook as she drew her sword. Then their swords met, Lucy felt a rush, she could hear her heart pounding in her ears. As he stepped back she swung her sword, something wet splashed across her. It was warm. It was blood. It's smell was intoxicating. Suddenly her knees felt weak and she stumbled backwards. He swung at her and barely missed her stomach. Her eyes grew wide with fear. I could die.

MuseSick 07-29-2011 08:26 PM

Jude glanced over to her, watching her draw her sword, he could see it shake in her hands. The man approching her, it seemed personal. Jude stared, it was her ship. That's what was so personal. He could feel his blood boil over inside of him, it was hot and it raced through her. This was the man that had thrown an innocent girl overboard.. He clentched his free hand at his side. He was always sensitive when it came to Men who were abusive, who power tripped over the silliest of things. He sighed as he skilfully slid his sword around a man, grabbing him by the hair he pressed the blade to his neck. "Gather yo-" when the man struggled Jude thrust the blade against his throat, cutting into it, he threw him to the ground, his stomach flopping as he watched the man bleed out on the floor.

He stepped over it, going to assist his crew, his eyes continuously flickering between his own battle and Lucy's. Sure she needed to prove herself, but she didn't need to get herself killed in the process.. He jumped up onto the stern, sucking his stomach- which was fairly flat- in to avoid being hit. His sword swung down, annoyed by the slice that ran down the center of his shirt, he jumped forward, his sword dismembering the mans arm. He growled. "That was my favorite shirt.." he said as he pushed him back, swinging through Men, in and out his sword weaving in battle between several men as he tried hard to assist his crew. He hadn't been expecting this today. "State your business!" he yelled to the Captain, who was a good ten feet or so away. He looked at Lucy, if he could get the man talking, Lucy would have even more of a chance than she would have originally.

The Captain smirked as he looked down at Lucy. "You lived.." he breathed as he held is sword against hers effortlessly. His gaze didn't leave her as he listened to Jude. "I've come for what is rightfully mine!" he called back as his hand extended, grabbing Lucy's arm. "How cute.. You want to play dress up, you don't have what it takes to survive in these waters girlie.. Come with me and I'll give you a life of luxury.." he whispered softly.

nyreen 07-29-2011 08:35 PM

Lucy's sword slipped from her hands as the man forcefully struck it again. For a moment she could not catch her breath, she reached out in an attempt to retrieve her sword. Then she felt a strong, firm hand take hold of her arm. Her wide eyes looked from the hand to the man that it belonged to. He was holding her so tightly that it hurt.

Lucy cried out as he held her arm, she began to squirm as an effort to escape from his grip. It was useless, she felt so helpless. Her face flushed red, with anger this time. What's rightfully yours? "I don't belong to you, you bastard." she growled. Lucy wasn't an animal, she wasn't an item. She was a person. She didn't belong to anyone. She spat in his face. "Let go of me!" she screamed.

Lucy felt a sudden rush, she couldn't reach her sword. That's when she bit him. She bit his hand, hard. Her fangs sunk in, her other teeth sank in too. Her eyes closed tightly in disgust, he tasted awful. His blood was bitter. Then she opened her eyes and looked up at him. Anger filled her eyes.

MuseSick 07-29-2011 08:46 PM

Jude raced over as she dropped her sword, "LET HER GO!" he yelled as he grabbed her sword, wielding both know he was about the place them on his throat when he noticed her fangs, buried deep inside of is skin. He shuddered as he watched the Man's face pale. He closed his eyes tightly as he slowly reached down grabbing Lucy by her arm. "L-lucky.." he stammered as he looked at the man's pale face. He could feel the colour drain from his own face, but he was bite free, he leaned over the edge, his drink and lunch spilling out into the ocean below, his eyes closed tight as his stomach spewed out, after having crawled up his throat. He pulled back, wiping his mouth on the back of his hand, he grabbed his sword and ran, stabbing the man who was stalking behind Lucy.

The man stared, his eyes narrowing as he cackled, holding his stomach like he was Santa clause almost, he glanced down at the girl, watching her struggle made him squirm with delight. He had her, and now she was going to pay for everything. He went to push his sword hard against her throat, but screeched in pain instead, grabbing his arm, he let go long enough to push on the side of her head. "RETREAT!" he screamed to his men, watching them individually leave, few coming to assist him. He closed his eyes as he yelped, tears forming in his eyes as he pushed harder on her head. "Stop.. Please.. I beg of thee." the man repeated nervously. He could feel his body draining slowly, closing his eyes he fell to his knees, his arm held in the air, still stuffed up into Lucy's death bite.

Jude stared, slowly he rested his hand on her shoulder. "L-Lucy.. The man.. He's dead.." he whispered softly. "Y-you can let go now.. And help me with the wounded.. I mean.. If you're capable.." he said as he glanced down at her, he was almost scared to touch her when she was angry.

nyreen 07-29-2011 09:00 PM

At first Lucy did not hear or see Jude. When she finally let go blood poured from her mouth. Had she really taken that much from him? Her body quivered with excitement, it felt as if life had returned to her. She no longer felt hungry. Her eyes were wide, she felt light headed. She hated the lingering taste of filth in her mouth, she wanted water to wash it away.

She brought her hand to her mouth, tears formed in her eyes when she realised that she had killed him. Was she really that strong? Her heart felt like it was never going to stop pounding in her chest. Her eyes shifted up to Jude. Was he scared of her now? Maybe he just thinks that I bit him, like a normal bite. Maybe he will think that he bled out because of his wound.

"I'm sorry," she sobbed. She could not hold the tears in, her body quivered but this time in sadness. Lucy had never drank from someone before. She was only given blood to drink. Her family also cooked food, even though it wasn't that satisfying. It made them seem more wealthier that they could afford unnecessary food. She buried her face in her hands. When she stopped sobbing she stood and nodded. "I'll help with the wounded, if needed."

MuseSick 07-29-2011 09:13 PM

Jude watched the blood seep out of her mouth, and flood onto the deck, it was only a little puddle, but that little puddle made him sick. He glanced down at it, only lifting his head to hear her sob. He ignored the feeling he had in the pit of his stomach and grabbed her hand, pulling her tightly into his chest. He was babying her because she was a crying women.. If she was a man he'd tell her to suck it up or converse. But instead his arms snaked around her body and held her tightly. "You're a vampire.." he whispered. "Why are you so upset? He came at you.. You did good.." he breathed in her hair. Rubbing her back softly, his bloody hand smearing along her shirt. "You're okay.. It's okay.. They're retreating, we may not have gotten your boat back, but they're all leaving, and none of us are dead.." he said smiling he pulled back once she stopped crying.

"You'll have to get used to this though, we'll teach you how to wield a sword better, we can have a little tournament with all of the crew members. This way we can all get a little test going on. I'll help you train, but as it stand, you're only half way in, tending to the wounded will help, along with helping me cook. When we arrive I'll find you some blood wine, I have some in the basement, because some of the crew mates like it in general, we're all human though. So they'll lay off of it so you can get your fixation, and you can then get your own, if you're not staying I'll leave you money, so we don't have any missing villagers!" he teased. "And if you're staying, we'll need to stock up, so I'll need to know your eating habits." he said as he took her hand leading her down towards where the wounded had been taken. "With standing their blood will be test number one. If you can't do that we'd have to rid of you encase you become dangerous." he said as he handed her a sewing needle, a thread, and gauze. "Stitches, and gauze, grab some whiskey and get working." he said as he went over to each man, individually asking where it hurt, he'd help her of course.

nyreen 07-29-2011 09:29 PM

Lucy melted in to Jude's arm, her arms found their way around him. She tightly held on to him as if her life depended on it. She could feel his heart beating against her chest, he was nervous. She wondered if he was afraid that she would bite him. Her fingers crawled up from his lower back to the back of his head, she began to play with his hair.

"I tried to tell you," she whispered softly. "I was scared at how you may react but I knew that I couldn't lie. I couldn't live on a ship that couldn't provide me with what I needed." she pressed her face against his chest. She wanted to hide. "I'm sorry that you had to see me like that. He grabbed me, he was hurting me. I thought that I was going to be killed. I panicked and bit him."

She wondered what the others thought of her know. Are they disgusted by me? She thought, she fought back tears at the thought of rejection. She had no where to go, but if they couldn't trust her then she would understand. No one would probably fully understand what she was. There were plenty of myths about vampires. A lot about how evil they were. Lucy wasn't evil. She hoped that she could convince them otherwise.

"I'll train, I'll do whatever you want me to do. You no longer have to cook, you no longer have to clean and I will tend to the wounded and repair what is broken." even though she knew that Jude was teasing her, she felt slightly angry at his comment. "I wouldn't attack an innocent man or woman or child. That isn't right. I couldn't bring myself to do something like that! Even if I were starving." she looked at the dead captain. "But that man, that man is evil!" she raised her voice and spoke bitterly.

Lucy fell silent, her breathing returned to normal and her mind felt clearer. She felt embarrassed by her sudden outburst. She followed him to the wounded men, then approached him. She was very close. "I would never harm you or any of the men aboard this ship. You're all good men, anyone could see that." she whispered to him, her lips brushed against his ear.

She took the supplies in her hands and went to attend to the wounded men. Despite the incident they greeted her with weak smiles. She spoke to them kindly, to keep them distracted from the pain. The room smelt like blood, she needed distraction as well.

MuseSick 07-29-2011 09:40 PM

Jude blinked, why is she yelling at me.. Maybe this is why I've never had a girlfriend, girls are kind of high maintenance..he thought to himself as he looked down at her, eye brow cocked. "You know- You don't need to yell, I've basically come to terms that my Joke's kind of suck royally." he admitted as he watched her. "You know- saying that is helping. But I'd be pretty bored if I had nothing to do, plus equality means that we all take turns doing things, you don't just do them all by yourself." he said as he turned one of the non wounded men, asking him to grab bowls and serve the wounded and to get anyone who wasn't wounded to assist him in feeding the 20 or so wounded crew members. He added in a cup of blood wine for the girl. "It's okay that you hurt him- he had it coming, you were defending yourself in the best way you could and I applaud that you would do anything to save yourself. Having that around is good, because it means you'd be willing to assist crew members. Training wont take long, half of the people here only know basic attacks. But you're a vampire, and since it's all about moving with your opponent, you really shouldn't have TOO hard of a time, because I'm assuming that your agility is good when you're not frightened?" he asked as he knelt down to the man next to her, cracking his shin back into place as he shuddered. He wrapped gauze around the bleeding mans head, it was too shallow to stitch it. As he stood he felt her lips against his ear, his face grew hot as he closed his eyes, his mouth seemed to almost water with delight. He wasn't used to affection, so to him- it was exciting. But he pushed himself back into his own composure.

"But later when we go back to sailing, you can help me clean up the deck, we have to mop, and dispose of the bodies." he said with a nod. "We only throw dead ones to sea, mangled ones, as well. But the ones that are alive we keep and whip into shape to be our own, or chain them up until we reach a village and term them to the land. We're not quite as cruel here unless it's necessary." he said as he moved onto the next man, instructing the healed, or barley wounded men to help with the stew which was being handed out.

nyreen 07-30-2011 02:15 AM

Lucy began to attend to a wounded man, his wound wasn't severe but it still was not a pretty site. A sword had slipped across his chest, thankfully it was not deep. He was lucky. When she pierced his skin to thread the stitches threw he grunted quietly to himself. For a moment she hesitated, not too sure if he wanted her to continue. When he insisted that it didn't hurt and that he would be fine, she carried on. He began to talk about his wife back home, Lucy smiled and listened to him. Apparently he had several healthy children, six girls and one boy. He joked about how at home it was a woman's world. She laughed quietly to herself, she felt bad for his son. Lucy could not imagine having so many little ones running about. It would drive her insane. Especially if they were fathered by the man she was forcefully engaged to. She shook the thought from her head as she finished. I can't allow such things to cloud my mind, she thought. I have a new life. She wrapped two layers of bandages around his wound, once they were secure he stood. He thanked her, then left.

It took hours to attend to the men, during the hours she learned many things about them but said very little things about herself. She didn't want to say too much, though maybe saying too little was worse. Every so often her eyes glanced over at Jude, she was mesmerized by his kindness and generosity. When she finished bandaging the last man he took her hand and planted a kiss on it. He went to leave, hesitated, then looked down at her. Lucy looked up at him and smiled kindly. "I've seen you looking at Jude," he said and cleared his throat. "Don't hurt him, he's a good man."

She wasn't too sure how to take the comment. Don't hurt him? Did he think that she would potentially kill him as well? Lucy could never do such a thing. Or did he see something else between them? Before she got lost in her own thoughts she brought her attention back to the man. She didn't say anything in return, she simply nodded, then he left.

As her icy blue eyes looked around the room she realised that everyone had gone. She fiddled with the bit of bandage that was left over with her fingers. Then she began to nibble on her lower lip nervously. She felt lost in this big, quiet room.

MuseSick 07-30-2011 09:59 AM

Jude sighed softly, after his first man he returned to the side lines, Jude had never been skilled at helping heal the wounded, his hands shook to much. He hadn't known where he picked it up, but some nights it made him feel like an addict, like he'd drank to much, or smoked a lot. With the way his hands shook most people looked at him as if it was impossible for him to be great at anything but Jazz Hands.. He shook his head, smiling at the men. Their eyes seemed to light up a little when she spoke to him. This was thing's they told people all the time, about their wife and kids, or lack of there of, but the fact that it was a woman, brought them closer to home. He sat down next to one of the non wounded men after he'd finished giving out the soup and smiled, poking around at his own bowl. Jude was quiet, but no one was surprised, he sort of always had been. He wasn't like the typical pirates small children were taught about in books. He wasn't loud, and he wasn't stereotypical, he didn't drink Rum like the fairy-tails said, he didn't abuse woman, or anyone happily for that matter. It brought something almost pleasing to Jude, knowing that he was going to redefine the definition of a pirate, and fix the majority of the pirates to be. If he was going to start anywhere in the world, he figured he may as start somewhere far away from home, with a great view.

Jude stood up finally, standing in the middle of the room, his hands folded casually behind his back as he turned around in circles, to glance at all of his men before they left. "You may all, well I've basically decided that now- when we return back to your village, you may all remain home for 3 day's, before we part, if you all make a list of things you want, I'll add it to the necessary list of supplies and grab everything myself. As soon as we hit shore, all of you, go home, see your loved ones." Jude paused, his eyes catching onto Lucy, he walked over as the men filed out, going back to what they were doing on top of the boat. "As for you- I usually sleep in the boat, fore they don't live in the same village as I." he said with a nod of his head. "So you can stay here, or maybe one of the men will take you in, what you do is completely up to you. But you'll only have three day's, so don't get to comfortable." he said with a wink of his right eye. She was apart of his crew now, so just like everyone of his men, he'd try to protect her with his life.

nyreen 07-30-2011 12:36 PM

Lucy's eyes lit up as Jude spoke to her. She smiled and listened before she finally spoke. "Could we explore the village together? Could you show me around?" she asked politely. "I would really love to stay on the ship for the rest of my life. It's the closet thing to home that I have had for years. I never felt this right at my birth place. However, if the men decide that they don't want me around, I want to know the village better. Perhaps I could make use of myself there somehow."

She stood and looked up at Jude. She suddenly became envious of his height. "You're so tall," she said and couldn't help but laugh. "Everyone is, I can see why I may seem useless. I'm this tiny little thing." she held up her hand to show how much longer his sleeve was than her arm. She had to tie a knot in the back to make it some what form fitting. A smile formed on her face, she felt happy. She didn't know what she was feeling. "Thank you," she whispered to him. Her face suddenly became very close to his, she gave him a small peck on his cheek. "Do you have more clean clothes to spare me?" she asked still very close.

MuseSick 07-30-2011 12:45 PM

Jude shook his head, "I can tell by the way they speak to you, by the way their eyes light up, we'd all love to have you here. I've been working with these men for the past five years, I know what they want. But- I can show you around the village of course if you'd like. I myself rarely set foot on the land, because my love is in the black water. I usually sleep most of the day actually, but I stayed awake to see if you were doing well. So when we arrive I can show you around the village, but just know, you wont be there long." he said with a tender smile dancing across his lips. He could feel his face grow hot, turning a bright crimson red as she pressed her lips to his cheek. The closeness alone made him nervous. He'd never felt the touch of a woman aside from him Mum, so to him this was truly a foreign task.

He looked down at her now, he could smell the sweet scent of her breath, his hands slowly rested down on her waist as he held her there. "But you're cute.." he whispered. "Tiny females are cute, it makes us feel more manly when we can pick-" Jude paused long enough to lift her up off the ground, sitting her up on a desk he smiled. "That we can hold and protect." he said softly his face holding the distance between. "Yes.. I have some more clothes you can change into, I'm thinking of changing myself.." he whispered as he let her go gently, walking over to a smaller room, he grabbed two sets of clothing, laying one out for him and one out for her. His face reddening as he glanced at her, slowly he pulled his shirt off, grabbing a wash cloth he ran it along his body, wiping away the cut that had formed blood on his chest, his eyes not leaving her. "You can change where you'd like, the men are all upstairs.." he said.

(xD Should we be adding an 'M' for mature?)

nyreen 07-30-2011 01:04 PM

Lucy's heart fluttered as Jude spoke, her eyes closed for a moment and she breathed in his sweet aroma. She wasn't too sure how to describe his scent, it was a mixture of the sea and sweat and something else, but it was almost hypnotizing. "That's good," she whispered softly. "I'm happy that they like me, I'm happy that you like me. It's nice to think that I might have a place to call home." she opened her eyes and looked in to his. Her face felt hot.

"Jude!" she cried as he lifted her up. When he placed her on desk, she brought her arms around his neck. She twirled his hair around her finger playfully. "I guess that is a good thing then, the way you put it." Lucy's hands floated from his neck to her sides as he left her.

Her eyes followed him, watching him remove his shirt. Lucy pushed herself from the desk and approached him. "Does it hurt?" she asked quietly. She ran her fingers up his stomach to where the wound was. "Do you want me to help?"

MuseSick 07-30-2011 01:13 PM

Jude's face grew hot, he felt like he was the sun as her fingers trace along his skin. He shuddered slightly. It was oddly.. A nice feeling to have her hands drawn along his skin. "I-I'm fine.." he stammered as he looked down at her, his hands finding their way to her back as he glanced down at her. His shaking hand tossed the cloth away, not wanting to get her wet he glanced up at the ceiling. "Welcome home Lucy.." he whispered softly as he leaned down, his lips brushing softly, shyly up against hers as he looked around the room. He reached for the clothing with his right hand, and led her into the small room with his left. Setting the clothing down on the bed he smiled at her, charmingly this time, he lost the lust from his face and it regained his colour. "You're very tempting.." he whispered to himself shaking his head. His equality he thought could subside a little when it came to Lucy, he didn't find himself sexually attracted to the rest of the crew, so he figured maybe she could one up them there.

He looked down at his clean wound, and the back to Lucy, he grabbed her by the loops that were in his pants that she wore and tugged her closer. "Lucy.. Is that short for Lucinda?" he asked softly as he leaned down, pressing his lips shyly to hers, making his kiss a bit fuller this time as he did. He couldn't deny that he was like the average male, he was run by his testosterone. But anyone who had never been touched in such away, would probably be driven mad by hormones anyways. "If you want you can get changed and I'll leave.. Or.. We can do whatever you want Lucy.. I don't mind..." he said quietly. He could feel his heart racing behind his shirt, he hoped it didn't bother her, the blood coursing through his veins when they got closer to one another. He wouldn't want to tempt her with thirst.

nyreen 07-30-2011 01:38 PM

At first her eyes grew wide, the kiss was unexpected. Then when Lucy thought about it, she had made this happen to herself. She didn't realise how much her touch could affect a man. Lucy had never been intimate with a man. Not even her husband to be, he refused to allow her to get to know him. He was so distant and cruel, he wouldn't even allow her to drink from him but expected her to allow him to drink from her. When she refused him a taste of what would be his daily meal, he became enraged and beat her. Then left her sobbing in her room.

"Tempting?" she whispered quietly to herself. I'm tempting? She ran her hands up from his stomach to his shoulders then rested them there. "Lucinda? I haven't been called that for quite some time. My parents only called me that... my maid always called me Lucy. Then eventually they all called me that..." Lucy closed her eyes as he kissed her for the second time. "I don't know what I want to do," she whispered softly. Lucy brought her lips against his. At first it was a soft, innocent kiss. Then it became hard. When Lucy pulled away she breathed heavily at first. "There's another reason that you should consider keeping me around," she said to him. "If you drink my blood, it heals wounds, it makes you strong. It makes you remain young and it can make you immortal."

MuseSick 07-30-2011 02:31 PM

Jude stopped dead, she spoke of making him immortal. Jude lowered his head, shamefully almost, he wasn't ashamed of himself, but ashamed that she believed him to be the type of person to use her for her power. He sighed, pulling away from her he ran a shaking hand through snowy white hair. It was a habit, something he did like a smoker would hold a pen awkwardly in their hand. Waiting for their fix. Only Jude didn't have a fix, and at this point he was surprised he had any hair at all. He'd always ran his fingers through it subconsciously. Never really playing much mind to the possible damage he could be causing his hair. He shook his head, biting his lower lip softly. "I.. No.. I don't want you to bite.. Anyone on this ship unless their wounds are fatal.. If you do I will remove you.. I.. " he held the door frame, closing his eyes. "I wouldn't abuse you for your power.. and I'm disappointed you think that of me.." he muttered. "You're already on the ship you don't need more way's to prove yourself, you just need to continue to pull weight.." he muttered.

"People are not immortal based on their life span, but they're immortal based upon the legends they leave behind.." he chewed on his lip as he raised his eyes to meet hers. Thinking to himself- Hero's get remembered, but legends never die. He didn't want to live forever, he found the concept sad, having to watch everyone you became close to die off, because he- himself would never be willing to intervene with someone's life. He couldn't make them immortal for his own selfish gain. Her views weren't selfish, but at the same time he wondered why she'd bring up such a motive. "We're not using you for your power here. If things are fatal I'd understand.. But you MUST promise me.. You will not bite a single living soul.. as long as you are here." he said taking her hands, his eyes locking with hers now. "Promise me."

Lucy was bewildered by Jude's reaction. He had misunderstood. "No," she said softly. "If I bite someone they will turn. I'm a pure blood vampire, there's a type of venom in my fangs." she smiled to showed them to him. "It's hard to explain, though that only happens if I take from a human's neck. If I take from anywhere else nothing will happen. Usually with other vampires a human who is bitten becomes very ill. But because of who I am, that does not happen." she seemed uncomfortable, should she be telling him this?

"If you drink from me," she said and lifted herself from the bed. She took his hand gently in her own. "It heals wounds. It makes you strong and powerful. My mother told me that, I also read all about my families history." she brought her other hand to the side of his face. "I don't believe that you would use me. I'm offering my powers to you. I don't think that giving out so much blood would make me feel very well. I can only give it to you." her face became very close to his. "I wouldn't bite any of your men, I wouldn't turn them."

Jude listened, and he listened well, he found it hard though, he understood everything she meant, every single word that came from her mouth. It made him uncomfortable. He knew that she wouldn't bite them, he had an odd trust that was designated for her. He didn't know why he trusted her, but at the meer thought of being immortal he took her hand. Slowly, he forced it away from his face. "No.. I.. I don't want to live forever.. I only want to live long enough..To see the world.." he whispered softly. "I don't need to live forever to be happy.. Like many people do.. I'm happy living for a day.. even a week.. I-.. " he looked down at her, her offer was tempting, possibly the most tempting thing he'd herd in a long time. But he couldn't accept. He thought of people dying alone, being forever alone and never getting over the fact that their loved ones had died. He knew if she bit him he wouldn't be a pure vampire.. He wouldn't have the chance to save someone he grew close to if she bit him. Did he really want to pay the price? Of watching everyone around him die.. While he could live forever.

"I'm sorry.. But I don't want to live forever.. I just want to be happy right now.." he hung his head as he grabbed his clothing off of the bed, pulling his shirt on, he grabbed his pants, stripping down he slid them on and tossed his dirty clothing into a basket that would be washed in the village. "You should hurry up and change Lucy, we have lots of work to do on deck." he said, his shaking hand, quivering as it ran through his hair. "I'm not scared to live forever.. I just don't wish too.." he said quietly as he closed the door so she could change in peace, heading towards the deck. He walked slowly, what was she going to say to him? He was curious.. Had she ever been denied of anything? He wondered, most princesses weren't used to being turned down, but he knew she wasn't like most princesses.. and it wasn't JUST because she was a vampire.

"I understand," she said softly. "You have a choice, unlike me. Vampires never die, I'm going to be eighteen for the rest of my life. I will never age, but everyone around me will." Lucy found it hard to think about Jude not being around anymore, it was hard to think about all of his crew being gone. He was the only man who was kind and generous to her. He gave her things because she needed it, he didn't give her things to keep her quiet like her parents had. Lucy didn't feel neglected, she felt wanted. "I'm sorry, it was inappropriate of me to offer such a thing to you. You're a good man, Jude." she watched him begin to undress.

She turned away as he continued to undress, not too sure if she could look at him anymore. She had never been upset like this before. She had thought that he would accept her offer, when he said no she felt different. The only other time that someone denied her something was when she told her parents that she wanted to become a pirate and they were furious. Jude didn't seem furious. She didn't know what he was feeling or thinking.

Lucy convinced herself to finally get out of the bed. Does he not want me? She thought, then was surprised with herself for thinking such a thing. What's wrong with me? Lucy removed the filthy clothes then changed in to the ones Jude had left for her. She rolled up the sleeves and tied a little knot in the back to make the shirt fit better. The pants were loose, but they remained around her waist. Her eyes fell on the mirror and she looked at herself. Who am I?

Jude sighed, waiting on deck for her with a mop in hand. He couldn't accept her offer, as least not now anyways. If he had something to strive for, that would keep him here he'd stay. He sighed as he waited, his chin resting on the end of the mop handle. He hoped she didn't take it personally. It wasn't anything personal, that was the problem. They'd known one another for barley a day, and she'd already been his first kiss, and almost his first time. It made his insides twist at the thought of barley knowing her, or having barley been around her, yet being willing to give up so much to her. For her to be willing to give up something very special to her. He shook his head, she was taking far to long for just changing. Sighing softly, he pulled at his hair, tugging it as he pushed his fingers through it, he put his hat back on and descended into the cabin again, he forced the door open and sighed, staring at her.

"You're beautiful.." he muttered softly, "and you look much cuter in my clothes than I do.." he said quietly as he walked over, standing between her and the mirror. "But no matter what I say, weather I drink from you, lay you down on the bed and cuddle up to you, or if I undress you.. We've still got a ship that's running.. So as much as I'd like to do all of those things.. We've got to clean up.. we can discuss things later of course.." he said as he looked down at her, rubbing her side softly. "I'm sorry.. For saying what I'd said about immortality being lonely.. Just.. For now it'd be lonely.. I have to think about what I want.. Get to know you- spend more time with you.." he said his voice trailing off as he held two mops between them, leaning one towards her.

Lucy blushed and brought her hand to Jude's. She ran her fingers over his hand gently. "Thank you," she whispered. "No one has ever told me that before." her cheeks felt hot.

"Living forever would be lonely, no matter how old you become you're still here. Your friends die, your family dies, then you're left all alone!" Lucy began to play with her hair nervously. "It happens and you can't stop it. I can see why someone would not want to live forever. You're lucky, you have a choice." her eyes met his, she seemed sad. "Maybe I should have stayed, surrounded by living creatures like me. I would not have to suffer the loss of a friend. They would never die...." she thought of her poor mother, struggling to live with her father forever. Did she hate Lucy for leaving her alone in that big castle? Or did she understand?

Lucy bit her lower lip nervously then took a mop from Jude. "I'm sorry," her lips touched his cheek for a short moment. "I'll help." She walked away with the mop in her hand and looked around her at the messy deck. She wondered if Jude had wanted to undress other woman then began to clean.

Jude followed behind her, dipping the mop in the water he began to mop up the blood. "That's why I declined, I couldn't stand to watch everyone I love die, I mean- of course I could, but it wouldn't be pleasant, watching everyone on my ship die aside you and I. I need to know if I could live with someone forever, since, I've always thought that life wasn't meant to have a forever sticker on it.. That it was meant to be an experience. Then you die and get to rest for all of eternity." he said softly. "There's nothing wrong with being a vampire, but for me I guess being raised in a household full of humans, and watching some of them die. I couldn't really understand. I mean- I'd have you, but I'm not sure if you want to have me forever just yet." he blushed. His hands shifting the mop back and forth, sighing gently. "You know, you don't need to surround yourself with people just like you to be happy. You don't need to be surrounded by people who will live forever. They say time heals all wounds, and you've got time, so make some mistakes, you'll be 18 forever, so have fun." he said grinning. "If I could be 18 forever, I'd actually. give up my ship, settle down, have a family with a human, or maybe work hard to keep human's safe from other, less friendly vampires." he said with a smile.

"It's fine though, I mean I would have considered drinking from you, I wanted to, because I like the idea of being on this ship forever, but for me, I want to wait as well. I want to get to know you. Right now, it's lust in over drive, it's not necessarily that you want me to be with you forever, it's just that you want me in a different sense." he said, he didn't know where he was going with it. She made his heart race a little, she made him nervous to the point of rambling on. He closed his eyes as he stopped mopping. "You don't need to be bullet proof you know.." he said softly.
