Create-A-Story Contest~ OVER! Winners chosen, thank you everyone
 

Hey All! Welcome to a little contest I wanted to hold for the event, for fun and to help users earn more pearls and other prizes! The gist of this contest is to create a story based upon an image. I'll be posting up a few images to choose from, basically look at the image and see if you can create a little story or scene based upon it. Your story doesn't have to remain focused on the image either! Just as long as something in it has to do with the image, either as a starting point, middle or ending point, or reference, etc etc etc.


To enter: Send me a PM with your story, and title the PM 'Create-A-Story Entry'. And don't forget to have fun! :3

1. One entry per person; however, you CAN write more than one story about more than one image, and I'll put your extra stories up in a showcase; you just can't enter more than one, so pick your best!
2. Once you have sent me the entry you can't edit it, so be sure to look it over before you send.
3. Be sure to check your spelling and punctuation and grammar, to make your story easier to read and understand; but you will not be judged on it.
4. I will accept more mature story content [use your own judgement - i.e. no outright pornographic descriptions] just be sure to mark your story with a M rating.

Is there a rating system for these stories or is it anything goes?

Ooh! New story contest! I need to get myself off Trisphee long enough to start writing. I'm trying to make two stories and a poem now.

I want to enter this one. SOme of those images are kinda inspiring especially the last one. But I am wondering what the ratings on these are.

it's a super sekrit image, you have to find the decoder ring, and the 3d glasses to see it....

Ratings? Didn't see anything nasty myself but stuff is up to interpretation of course, and interpretaion can run along the mature end, if that's what your talking about.

I like the last one too, and have some thoughts in mind.

I'm already at 1k words...who knew I had this much in me LOL I've not even gotten to the point of the story LMAO

I tend to get to the point rather quickly. I rarely ever hit 1000.

I tend to ramble a lot, so most of my stories are at least 2-3k...I've got one that is sitting at 9k and has been for 8 years. And I don't remember where I was going plot wise, so I'll probably never finish it.

Any thing I write has a bad habit of being angsty and full of tangents xD thats why I am asking. I would have to read something fluffy for a while inorder to write fluff. But ... I mostly read dark fiction.

Then go somewhere else, plotwise.

I would, but it would require a looooooot of backtracking I think...and there's nothing wrong with angst. I can't seem to write it, though the one really short story with it I got out seemed to do quite well....

oh god, I make no garuntees here folks! it's sorta rambly, and mushy, and it miiiiiiiiiight get angsty at the end...but not for long.

How long will this contest last? I want to get a ton of pearls first.

I just write what I feel like. Angst, or plot, may or may not happen.

I've gotten quite a few already, I cant' imagine them ending it too early...though...tonight is ending for me, night all!

Maybe considering I do not feel up to chatting, but need to do something, as I seem to not be able to sleep more than 4 hours, this is what I should do! xD

I wonder if we can alter small things in story descriptions of pictures... like the shade of girl's hair in picture 3... keeping it still red-ish, but just slightly different shade.

Poetic-esque prose is alright I hope. Not sure I'm going to get a plot out with what's rolling around in my head.

EDIT: oh darn. I just noticed the word minimum window. That 1000 is the definate minimum is it?

Quiet - If you're doing prose instead of a full short story, then you can do under 1000 :3 I just thought 1000 words was a nice amount to shoot for, since I wanted these to be more stories than drabbles and the like. But 1000 words of prose can be a bit much, I understand


Poggio - There's only the Trisphee site rating system which is 17+, so mature adult themes are okay, violence, cursing, blood, intimate situations, etc just no outright pornographic descriptions

Funkduder - It'll last as long as the event lasts, what Lucid said

Sadrain - As long as you don't, like, change major things in the image (like in the second one make them both aliens dueling to the death on Mars or something) then yes you can change minor details like that ~

And I think somone asked about combining pictures? That is okay as well, just let me know which two you're using

Well prose is generally regular writing, but I'm thinking something more stylistic than a proper short story. I figure it would fall in the category of "scenes." I'll try for the 1000 and see if I get there. Would be good practice for me.

:: waves hand:: combining pictures was me...and I'll have to tackle the next bit(closed the window at 1500 words last night) when I get home from work. apparently my writing muse has been long neglected if how fast he took off is any indication.

Oh nice! It takes me a bit to get into a writing groove, it's always stiff when I start out..but aww poor neglected muse. All the writing contest we're holding this event ought to keep him happy 8D

Ah Thank you Rem. I think I thought of something cute and fluffy. Now to keep it under 7500 words.

I don't think you have to keep it under anything, just make sure it's more than 1k words :) Otherwise, I'm gonna be in trouble.

XD I tend to go way over board but this idea seems to be fit for a short story, just need to make the pacing right.

I should mention I added two more pictures just because I meant to add these and forgot, they were in my folder. XD
