I love you guys. ;-;

So you know the world is suppose to end today, I just want to say how much I love you guys. ;D
Like I REALLY Love you guys.
...
No, but really.
Are you guys believing the world is going to end today?
What about 2012?
Does is creep you out that so many people believe in it?

That's what really gets me, is how many people actually believe in this.

Now if you excuse me, I'm going to go dance Till the World Ends. ;D

Fey 05-21-2011 12:35 PM

I...I shall NOT get on my soapbox about 2012...::nails that door shut::
and really, if the rapture does come today we have a party to go rapture looting, cause I know I ain' going. And I love that there's a group that set up to 'rescue' your animals if you go to rapture and leave them behind, and they're MAKING A LOT OF MONEY, cause people are idiots.

I vote for a big party on someones roof to watch the silly people get all disappointed.

Demonskid 05-21-2011 12:40 PM

technically.. IF the world was to 'end' it's not the WORLD that will end just human life..

Human life will die *just like the dino* and a new species will evolve from stuff and boom life on the world will still be there.. =w=

But I don't think the world will end.. nor human life.. xD

though the movie 2012 was interesting OwO

Hero 05-21-2011 12:42 PM

Wha? That's today?
Haha I had no idea.
I was too busy studying
/brick'd

AceValkyrie 05-21-2011 12:44 PM

In my opinion, no one can know or predict when judgement day will come. Its completely impossible. But I am not saying that the world won't end on 2012, it just might.. Just keep your eyes open, anything can happen.

Ashurato 05-21-2011 12:46 PM

I think there's something wrong when religion is more known for forecasting when the world is going to end rather than how people should love and respect each other.

All this "Rapture" ideology seems like a pretext saying "there is something fundamentally more 'good' in me than the rest of you rabble, that is why I will be saved and why the rest of you will be left behind."

I absolutely loathe sensationalist theories that seem more fabricated to con people out of their money than honestly trying saving their souls.

Fey 05-21-2011 12:46 PM

::soap box rattles to get out::
shush up in there!
yeah, we're slowly killing ourselves off, give us time, we'll get a nice extinction party goin in a few millennium.

I also have issues with the idea that souls need to be 'saved'.

Ashley 05-21-2011 12:53 PM

I don't think it will end today, but it could. The world ending today is just a likely as it ending any other day. I think the only way it could be predicted is if we knew a huge meteor was going to crash into the Earth or something and there wasn't anything we could do about it. I wouldn't believe a prediction based in religion or such instead of science.

This. 100% this.

We are the pure and chosen few;
all the rest are damned.
There's room enough in Hell, for you;
we don't want Heaven crammed.

I have no use for people who can't wait for this life to be over so they can get onto something better. It's solipsistic, narcissistic, and pathetically entitled. We have something. One day, we're going to have nothing. We need to make the best of it, not sit around complaining and wishing it was better.

Serra Britt 05-21-2011 01:54 PM

We are, where we are, and who we are. The bible talks about prophets and prophesies all the time but I never saw a timeframe there. You can only know if a prophecy is correct AFTER it happens, not before, according to the bible. So prophecy or not, I won't change how I live, because I could just as easily die some other way than the end of the world coming. I dunno, I guess I'm just a wierd christan who doesn't believe the same things as mainstream ones :P

Fey 05-21-2011 01:56 PM

nah, these are some really fringe extremists, not the 'normal' ones. my best friend sort of bangs her head on the wall when stuff like this happens and she was raised in a missionary family.

Serra Britt 05-21-2011 02:02 PM

Well, that's true, but it's always the extremists you hear about most so I guess I fell into the trap of thinking they were the normal ones. -bad me-

Suzerain of Sheol 05-21-2011 02:27 PM

I haven't been following it too closely, but I believe I read that the guy behind this "prophecy" has been getting criticism from Christians as much as from any other group.

When it comes down to it, religion is just window-dressing for the delusions that give these sort of people a sense of meaning in life. There have been similar movements in the past that haven't been tied to organized religion. The need to be more than a speck of dust floating in a sea of nothingness is a powerful psychological motivator, and for some, the apocalyptic conclusion is the only one.

If you want to see the silver lining here, at least the Dispensationalist/Rapture movement is largely non-violent. It could be a lot worse.

Fey 05-22-2011 12:37 AM

aaaaaaaaand we're all still here
dang, no rapture-looting...er...wait....
>.>...
<.<...
I wouldn't do that..........

Lunaryon 05-22-2011 01:01 AM

If I do some math and say that the world is ending tomorrow, and I'm wrong, can we have another party the day after? :p

Fey 05-22-2011 10:18 AM

if there's cake, then yes, yes you can

Madam Kira 05-22-2011 11:19 AM

Well everyone...we're still alive.
Guess that means i have to do my homework. >>

Lucifer 05-23-2011 03:57 PM

Well.. I know I'm still here ;)

Smuggler 05-23-2011 05:53 PM

Haha! I was talking about the rapture being a load of gook on facebook the other day! 8D

Conversation (minus names and pictures)

I don't belive in any of those 'the world is ending' rumours and I have very little patience for those that do. 2012 will just be another year and the planet will go on spinning for thousands upon thousands of years.

Fizzyology 05-23-2011 06:16 PM

*looks around* well I'm still breathing so the rapture being so soon is a crock lol.

Really people READ THE BIBLE before you go deciding when the end of days is lol

as for 2012...Really the whole "Myans predicted the end of the world" Is more like they either got tired of making a calandar THOUSANDS of years into the future, or they died off before they could go beyond 2012 lol.

The worst thats going to happen is an increase in suicides because people will really believe it.

Reyoki 05-23-2011 06:35 PM

-_-' Ugh. Fizzy, could you not bring religion into this? Just because YOU may believe in all that jazz doesn't mean that everyone else does. 'kay thanx bai

Are you implying that the truth about how the world will end is waiting to be found within the Bible? If you are, be so kind as to lay out for me how awaiting a seven-eyed Lamb and a ten-crowned Beast and the final judgment of Babylon is any more believable than waiting for the the Fimbul Winter, the Gotterdamerung, and the resurrection of Baldur.

Quiet Man Cometh 05-23-2011 07:38 PM

My aunt had a simple take to it. It's the end of the world, why are we worried? Have an extra beer.

I guess the whole supernatural/spiritual thing adds an element of fear beyond simply dieing with everyone else. I'm personally curious about all the stories that involve the end of the world in some way. From what I've read (which admitedly isn't much) total destruction of the planet is rare. Usually it's more the end of the world as we know it and a rebirth later, but we remain in the same plane, so to speak.

Espy 05-23-2011 07:42 PM

Okay, okay, if you actually believe in all this, why don't you just say, "Fine, everyone's gonna die, I'm not missing out on anything"?

I don't see what it's such a big deal...

Fizzyology 05-24-2011 12:51 PM

Hey guys, I'm fairly certain that opinions are allowed here, don't bash me for it ^-^ I'm mean honestly do you not see the rude choice of words you've thrown? lol

And why is it that the only thing people actually paid attention to was my tiny comment about the bible? That's just silly.

Lucid: 05-24-2011 01:17 PM

Actually, the whole deal with the rapture is that is IS a religious-based end of the world scenario. Sure, some of the later predicted ones like 2012 aren't, but since the supposed raputre of a few days ago was specifically mentioned, Fizzy's comment was perfectly appropriate and we will have no more insulting others for their beliefs. That goes for everybody.

Foxie 05-25-2011 01:51 AM

I had a thought the other day about the world ending... Just wanted to post here and see what you guys think ^^

From what i've learned that everyone is going off the notion that world will end in 12-21-12 because of the Mayan calendar... What if this has happened before..?

What if the Mayans and the Egyptians and all the civilizations from old were as advanced as we are now but something happened in the year 12-21-12 (in their time, as if they had lived then or now) That stopped them from telling what would happen after that date? And that after that had happened the world started over, leaving behind it the ruins of those people?
Scientists today can figure out how they made the things they did. The tall builds, the sculptors, the pyramids and so on. What if the world ends, covering all that we have made and starting over to where the next set of man kind think the same thing about us and things that we have made?

It was just something I thought of :D

Lunaryon 05-25-2011 01:54 AM

...That would suck. Seriously, if the entire civilization vanished, no more Trisphee!

Sushi 05-30-2011 07:33 PM

So, do you still love us even though the rapture didn't happen? D:

Serra Britt 05-30-2011 07:44 PM

Well, I still love you all no matter what ♥

Madam Kira 05-30-2011 08:08 PM

Well, I now question my love for you guys since the rapture didn't happen. >>
But now that there's a new date, I still might love you guys. >.<

Reyoki 05-31-2011 10:39 AM

So you have the capacity to love us only if there's a set expiration date for said love?

Madam Kira 05-31-2011 12:53 PM

Exactly! Now you got it. >.<
