With a quiet sigh, the pale haired female closed her book quietly. She looked around with her dull gray eyes with a frown. The tea house was unusually full this afternoon. At least, there was a fair share of vampires today. Most of the time it was just humans and their loud, obnoxious ways.
The female tugged out a shiny gold watch from a pocket on her dress, flipping it open. It was only 2:35 pm, plenty of time before the play was to start. She played with the chain a bit, watching a small group of teenage females; what with their squealing and giggling. She could not help but let out a low growl. Did anyone understand the concept of a quiet place to have coffee and read? Nope. With another sigh, she placed the watch back in it's respective place and stood. She quietly smoothed out her dress and straightened out her hat, giving the rose a quick soft fluff. She smiled a bit, grabbed her book, and left payment on the table before heading outside. As she exited, she had to place her hand on her forehead to accommodate for the sudden burst of light. "Great..a cloudless day.." she whispered to herself. "Oh well." Once her eyes had adjusted, she removed her hand and began walking, holding her book with both hands, letting her arms remain mostly straight. |
"BEEP BEEP, BEEP!" The alarm on Seth's bedside table was going off. He reached over and slammed it off. He sighed "Great another crappy day, damn it, today is my birthday." He look at the clock it read 8:30 a.m. He got up and got dressed. After he got ready he went straight to training. He always liked to keep his skills in check.
After training with his favorite Katana he cleaned up a little bit. His stomach started to growl. So he went to the refrigerator to get some blood. "Damn it!" He yelled. "I'm all out of blood. Well I guess I should go get some." He said with a sigh. He put on his coat and fastened his katana sword in its sheath and but the belt that held it on his body. Out the door he went. He cringed at the sight of the sun. You could hear a low growl as he started walking down the path from his house. He saw a whole bunch of humans having fun, pushing each other around. "Stupid humans." He said with anger. He was so deep in thought that he didn't notice that he was about run into someone. BAM! He ran into a light pink haired girl. They both landed on the ground with a thud. "Why don't you watch where you are going?" He asked with a lot of anger in his voice. She sat there on the ground not answering him. Hello? Can you hear me?" he asked calmly. He sighed "Here let me help you up." |
Serus sighed slightly as she glanced up to the sky, hoping to see a a cloud roll over the sun, but her wish was denied. Suddenly she found herself on the sidewalk, her book falling into the street gutter. To add to her disbelief, her hat had fallen from her head and rolled down the sidewalk into a puddle.
She looked at him, flabbergasted that he would take that tone with her.Of all people! Of all the audacious things he could've done! He touched her, then proceeded to act as her superior? Oh hell no! That was not acceptable. Her flat colored eyes narrowed sharply, swatting his hand away with her slim structured hand. She quickly helped herself up, brushing off her dress. Even though she was furious at this point, her voice sounded soft, and calm; almost bell-like. "I can help myself thank you! I don't need some punk thinking he's all high and mighty thinking he can redeem himself by trying to be a gentleman. No! You can just help your happy ass down the sidewalk and get out of my way!" Serus narrowed her eyes again, turning sharply on her heel to go and pick up her hat. She had not known about the puddle until she grabbed the tiny black top hat. She turned around, her mouth wide open in shock and anger. "I can't believe you! You're such..a dim-witted lump of flesh! Do you have any idea how hard it is to find a cute hat these days?! I can't even begin to explain to you my fury!" She held the hat tenderly and frowned as she sighed. After a moment of silence for the lost hat, she looked back up to him and approached. She scrunched up her nose in fury, poking him hard in the chest with her slim finger, "What the devil where you doing anyway?! Don't you have eyes? Last I could tell it was a standard object on any living creature. You should use them more often you imbecile." She definitely had many more words to say to this man, but she was starting to draw attention. She hated attention from humans. She let out a huff, crossing her arms while she held her hat by the ribbon used to tie it around her chin. "Well? Answer me!" |
He sat there on the ground flabbergasted at what just came out of her mouth. As he was ready to say something he finally got a whiff of her. He got up he noticed that he was a little bit larger than this woman. "Listen little lady I have been having a bad day and I don't need a (he leaned in) vampire yelling at me. Now if you wanna finish this I say we duel. If not I will be on my way." He stood there waiting for her reply.

The woman scoffed, obviously not intimidated by this man. "Oh honey, you could not possibly hope to win in a fight against me. I shall--hey now! Hold the phone." She leaned forward, moving to her toes to get a closer look at his face.
After a few seconds, she was flat on her feet again, her hands on her hips now. "Well I'll be damned! You might stand a bit of a chance! Of course, you still have no hope of defeating an Elder, and clan leader!" She gave him a smug look giving the 'high and mighty' phrase a whole new meaning. Another few seconds of silence went by before she began to speak again, "But hey, tell you what. I'll humor you and give you the fight of your life! You won't forget this, Honey! But, not here, too many witnesses. And to be a good sport, I'll let you choose where we go. Go on, choose." |
"Well Miss clan leader you are on. I agree too many witnesses. So fallow me I know where to go." He said smugly. But he kept thinking "I just fucked with a clan leader. I am so screwed." He started walking towards his home. "Maybe at home ill have an advantage." When they got to his home he unlocked the door and lead this lady into his home. He walked up to the weapons cabinet which had almost every weapon known to man. He opened it and said "Pick your weapon, I will be using my katana."

Serus hummed slightly as she followed the young vampire. Her hands were clasped behind her back, still holding her hat of course. Just cause it was dirty now, didnt mean she was going to get rid of it. She was obviously overdoing the cockiness. She had nothing better to do.
Upon entering his house, she was silent. "Wow...I'm insulted..." She was not used to such a small property. She shrugged, it was cute though. She continued to follow him, peering at the cabinet. After a moment, she set her hat down on a table and stepped away, "I won't use one." She took a bow, "Ladies' first." When she straightened up, she gave him a wink. Seconds later, she was in front of him, her hands behind her back, a dark grin on her face. "I'm going to have so much fun with this..but don't worry..I won't kill you." She gathered up some power, focusing it into a nice big smack in his gut. The force was enough to send him into the opposite wall, possibly break a rib or two, but nothing too serious. Of course, she just stood there, hands casually behind her back, rocking back and forth on her feet. |
That bitch I can’t believe she just did that. Fuck she broke a few of my ribs. He got up not showing that he was a little hurt. "So you want to play the no weapon game?" He asked slightly insulted. He took off his belt and let his katana hit the floor. He breathed deeply and did a back flip to grab onto the chandelier he dropped down to the floor behind her. He spun her around and threw her against the other wall.

Serus watching him, turning when he landed behind her. "Oh now don't drop yours, you'll need it." She let out a squeak as he grabbed her and shoved her back. She forced herself to flip backwards, to keep her form loosing balance, and landed in a crouched position a few yards away. "Not too bad."
"But, unlike you.." She stood, brushing off. As she gathered up more power, causing the gravity around her to be slightly affected. Her hair began to float, ever so slightly, and when she launched her attack, her hair blew forward, covering her face for a moment. The powerful, invisible attack rolled through the air. Her aim was to smack him dead center on his breastbone to shatter it, but who knows how quick the boy was? If the attack were to hit, he'd be sent right out the window and who knows how far into the yard. |
He turned to try and counter her but he didn't turn fast enough to fully dodge her. He got thrown back a little. He waited till she landed on her feet and he jumped behind her and threw her in a suplex form. He keeled down in a little pain as he heard her crash.

"Wrestling? Really?" She sighed, but let him complete the wrestling maneuver. Soon, she was in the air, heading towards god knows what. She might as well not let herself get hurt, right? And so her telekinetic shield popped up. The air around her became so dense, that solid object would not be able to pass through.
She crashed into the little table she had placed her hat on, and slid across the floor a bit before rolling up to her feet in one smooth movement. Her hat was flung into the air, to be caught by her nimble hand and twirled by the ribbons as she did a spin. "I must say, you're a pretty good fighter. Now, I could easily kill you, but I gave you my word that I would not." When she faced him again, she placed her other foot down and gave him another bow. "Truce?" She jumped forward, holding out her hand with a slight smile. "I suppose I could introduce myself as well. My name is Serus, and I am currently in command of the Antinori clan; one of the most powerful Psychic clans." She couldn't help but boast a bit there. |
He got up as he saw her pull up her telekinetic shield. "Fuck I can't believe she did that." all of a sudden she was standing right in front of him with her hand held out and her asking for a truce. He took her hand and said "Truce, my name is Seth and I am the Co-Leader of The Augustin Clan: a powerful empath clan. Also thank you for the complement." he said as he fell to the ground in pain.
"You cracked a few of my ribs and I think you might of fractured my breastbone." He said painfully. He tried to get up so he could go sit in a chair, but he failed in standing up. "You are a great fighter as well, you surprised me when you threw up your telekinetic shield." He said with a painful laugh. |
"The Augustins? I haven't heard from you guys in decades." She frowned, helping him up into a chair, "And thank you..I've had just about 500 years to practice." She tenderly touched his chest, wincing a bit, "Oh yeah, there's definitely some broken bones there."
She sighed, looking at her hand and brushing it off, "I apologize for my actions earlier..they were uncalled for." She waved a hand in the air, indicating a sense of carelessness, "You know how us Elders get when it's sunny like this. We get crabby." She paused, tilting her head a bit. "Hmm.." She then looked to her arm where she felt a strange sensation. "Well, would you look at that? I wasn't so quick after all." She pulled a splinter of wood from her arm, examining it, "I knew something felt off." |
"Ow." He winced as she touched his chest. "I have heard about your clan, you all are very powerful. I should be the one apologizing, I was the one who knocked you to the ground and yelled at you. The reason that you haven't heard from us is because we were nearly wiped out. Damn, I am late for a meeting and I haven't eaten yet. Well hopefully they leave some food for me." He said as he strained to get up.
"It was a pleasure to meet you milady, also thank you for not killing me." He said with a smile. "Oh I almost forgot do you remember how to get back to where we bumped into each other?" He asked nicely. |
Serus was silent for a moment while she thought, "I do, but it'd probably be quicker to just lead you there. Follow me~" With that, she was off, taking him quickly through town to the exact spot they crashed into each other.
She held out her arms, displaying the location, "Here we are. Right where we met." She hummed a bit as she beat the dirt from her hat before placing it on her head. After a few moments of fiddling with it to get it in the right spot, she tied the ribbon then clasped her hands behind her back. |
Before he knew what was happening he was being dragged through town. Within moments he was in the exact spot where they first met. "Well I guess you do remember." He said with a smile. "She is kinda cute, and she is powerful" he thought. "Do you wanna get a drink after my meeting or do you wanna come with me? He asked with a shy smile.

Serus whirled around, tilting her head to the side, her pale bangs covering her eyes. "I would be honored to drop in on your meeting. I've been meaning to get around to the lesser known covens for awhile now." She quickly pulled out her watch, flipping it open to check the time before shutting it and replacing it in her pocket.
She quickly ran her fingers through her hair, straightening it out a bit, but keeping her classic partly messy look. She smoothed out her dress, fixed the many ties and ribbons, fluffed up the rose on her hat, and finally fluffed up her skirt. She had to keep up a certain expectation of perfection after all. |
"Why did she look cute cleaning herself up a little?" He wondered to himself. "Well shall we be on our way milady?" He asked as he held out his arm.

Serus smiled grabbing onto his arm, "We shall. And please stop calling me that, I feel old enough as it is." She laughed softly, waiting for him to lead the way. "You know what I mean?"

"Ok I will stop, but you don't look old Serus." He said sweetly. They went on their way. "I wonder how old she is." he pondered as they walked past a little tea shop. "I might wanna tell you now that our clan leader can be an ass, so he might be mad at you." He said nervously.
They walked for a short distance, and finally made it to the clan household. He did the secret knock, and the door swung open and he was greeted by the butler. "Hello Master Seth." The Butler said with a smile. "Hello Felix, and how are you today?" He asked nicely. "I am good sir, and who might this young lady be?" Felix asked politely. "This is Serus the leader of the Antinori clan." Seth said with a smirk. "I see sir, it is a pleasure to meet you milady." Felix said extending his hand to shake hers. |
Serus laughed, "I don't care, he would never dare be blunt about it." She gave him a wink and followed alongside him humming softly, closing her eyes as they walked.
When they entered the Home, she opened her eyes. She briefly let go of Seth, giving a slight curtsy to the butler before taking his arm again and shaking the butler's hand with her free hand. "A pleasure indeed, Felix. I don't mean to sound rude, but be sure to emphasize to your Master of who I am. I would not want something to occur because of his..ignorance." She gave the butler a sweet smile as she spoke, but her tone hinted of possible threats. |
"I will milady." Felix said with a bow and started to walk away. As Felix walked away "You are really good at making idol threats." Seth said with a chuckle. "Just to let you know the masters name is Cecil." He said rolling his eyes. "I just wish he would die already." Seth pondered while waiting for Felix to come back.
"Master Cecil is ready for you Master Seth and milady." Felix said with his had stretched out. "Are you ready Serus?" Seth asked quizzically. |
Serus stood on her toes, whispering in his ear, "I'm also good at carrying them out." She gave him a wink, almost like she know what he was thinking. When Felix came back, she went flat on her feet, nodding to Seth, "Indeed I am. Lead the way, Sir."

Seth smiled and started to lead the way "You can call me Seth." He said nicely. They walked down a long hallway, and finally reached the council meeting room. When Felix opened the door he let Serus go first. As she entered he put his arm around her waist.
"Hello master." Seth said with a slight bow. "Hello young Seth." Cecil said in a deep voice. "Master as Felix has already told you this is Serus the leader of the Antinori clan." Seth said with a smile. When he said that everyone in the room looked a little shocked. "Why have you brought her here Seth are you trying to let them take control" Cecil asked with anger. "No master I just thought..." Before Seth could finish Cecil cut him off. "I told you not to think, you just opened up our clan to someone who can destroy us easily." Cecil yelled. "No master I will be taking over soon and I need to make decisions, and I think opening us up to the Antinori clan could be a good thing." Seth said as every one looked at him shocked. |
Serus smiled a bit as his arm went around her waist. So he was capable of being a gentleman. She placed her one arm around his waist as well, listening as the two bickered with a frown. I can see why he doesn't like him.
She stepped forward, holding up her hands slightly, "Master Cecil, you have no need to worry. I have been meaning to speak with you for quite some time." She gave a slight bow to him, placing her hands in her pockets. "I know I have a bit of a...reputation among the smaller Covens, but I honestly came to just...talk. I'm not here to take your clan from you." The way she spoke her last sentence implied that she was insulted he would even think such a thing. True, she was known for taking over the other clans and eliminating weaker vampires, but she would never take take the Augustins. They were a strong clan, even if they were smaller. Either way, they just weren't what she was looking for for her coven, but as an ally, perhaps. |
"That's what they all say before they attack." Cecil said standing up. "Master you cannot talk to her that way." Seth said stepping forward. "How dare you defend that deceiving woman." Cecil said pounding his hands on the table. "How dare you insult her master?" Seth asked angrily. "How dare you disrespect me Seth you are my finest student?" Cecil asked trying to calm down.
"You want to know why master? Its because you talk down to everyone and treat us like your servants." He said getting madder. While he was waiting for Cecil to answer he looked over at Serus and looked at her aura, it was a light blue meaning she was being honest. "Master how can you call her deceiving I just read her aura and its a light blue meaning shes telling the truth." Seth said puffing out his chest. "Well Seth how would anyone else be able to see you are the only member who can see and read auras?" Cecil said calmly. "Are you saying that im lieing? How dare you accuse me of such things master?" Seth asked furious. "Well Seth I can tell you have affections for this woman so yes I think you are lieing your feelings have definitely clouded your judgment." Cecil said wondering what his response would be. "You think my judgment is clouded master. Well how about this I challenge you to a duel master and whoever wins will be the leader of our clan." Seth said smugly. "He may well be over 600 years old but I can take him down." Seth pondered. "You dare challenge me Seth? You will know what it is like to die Seth I accept you challenge." Cecil said crssing his arms. |
Serus was silent through the whole thing, her hands migrating to be clasped behind her back while she listened. When she thought they were done, she leaned forward slightly, "If I may?"
She stepped away from Seth, approaching Cecil. Now he was quite a bit taller than her; with her being 5'4" and him being 6'2". She had to really crane her neck to look at his face. She tilted her head a bit, her gray eyes simply just staring at him. "You are an imbecile." She rocked back and forth on her feet, looking off to the side, "I'm very insulted, you see. Do you know what happens to people when they insult me?" She looked back at him, her eyes narrowed. She took her slim, pale fingers and gently touched his forehead with her index finger. "Bad things happen Mr. Augustin. Very, very bad things." |
Seth was impressed at what Serus just did. "Felix!" Seth yelled.
"Yes master Seth?" Felix asked running up to Seth. "I want you to run to my house and get my katana it should be in my dining room. Also get the arena set up." He said sternly. "Yes sir." Felix said almost ready to leave when Seth grabbed him. "Can you get me some blood as well I am going to need all strength I can get." Seth said whispering. Felix nodded and ran off. "How dare you touch me you filthy woman?" Cecil asked with anger. Seth walked up to Serus and grabbed her arm gently. "We should go get ready." he whispered into her ear. |
Serus's mouth dropped in shock, "Excuse me!? Just who do you think you are? Just because you're only 100 years older than me, does not mean you can speak to me like that!" She crossed her arms, tempted to stomp her foot, but resisted the urge. She narrowed her eyes, "I can't even begin to think of how I'm going to punish you for your actions! Oooh you just..!"
She was about to hit him with her power, but Seth grabbed her arm. She let out an angry snort, swatting his hand until he let go, "Oh no, I will not tolerate such rude behavior! Tell me something Cecil...do you remember the Raksasha clan? No? Let me refresh your memory!" She clenched her fists, her eyes narrowed to slits, "Each and every single member of that clan suffered a horrid death. Slowly, one by one, their bones were shattered to thousands of tiny pieces, their hearts exploded, their brains turned literally to liquid." She took a moment to let it sink in with the other council members; their shock filling the air. "And that's not all my dear Cecil. The pressure around their bodies became too great for them to handle, causing them to implode in this mushy, bloody mess. And would you like to know something else?" She hopped up onto the table to be eye level with him, leaning forward so her face was only centimeters from his. A dark, sadistic grin came upon her face as she whispered, "And I did it...all by myself." Quiet gasps filled the room as the news was announcement. Serus had used her clans influence to 'rewrite' the story to make it seem it was her Council and her, not simply just her. |
Seth was kind of interested in what she just said. "Why am I turned on by what she just said? he thought. "How dare you rewrite history and then threaten me?" Cecil asked a little bit in shock.
"Cecil, this is between you and me and not her. I have been gunning for your spot for years and now I will take it." Seth said slightly irritated. "How dare you disrespect me by not calling me master?" Cecil said as he looked at Seth. "After today I will be your master, Cecil." Seth said with a smirk. He walked closer to the table and put his hand out to help Serus down off of the table. "We should go get ready darling." He said sweetly to Serus while waiting for her to grab his hand. |
Serus giggled softly, yet, darkly, "Oh my dear Cecil, you have no idea what I'm capable of. One of these days, I'll find you in gutter after Seth has defeated you, and put you out of all our misery. I'll be seeing you then."
She took Seth's hand and hopped off the table, "You really should. I know this fabulous place where you can get some fresh blood. It's this cute little shop, not too far from here. Not to mention, the humans there are carefully selected for their blood..maximum nourishment." She nodded, leading him out of the room, down the hall, and back outside. |
He followed her out of the house but heard a loud noise come from the house. "You really pissed Cecil of." He said laughing. "That place sounds wonderful, but I sent Felix to get me some blood." He said somewhat embarrassed.

]She waved a hand, "Felix already knows, I've told him." She led him through the streets until they came upon a quaint little shop. The exterior was was an off white/slate blue color with a elegant white door. She opened the door for him, motioning for him to step inside, "Telekinesis is not my only specialty."
The inside was simple enough. Little tables, basic chairs, and a few people here and there, most of them vampires. The few humans in the shop were well aware of who their company was, but thanks to the Antinori coven, they were selected for their rich blood types. She smiled, "You like? I plan on building one of these in each city my coven owns. Right now, this is the only place, a bit of an experiment." |
"It is quite quaint, and thank you for telling Felix I don't like to make him run around more than he has to." Seth said with a sigh. "I'm sorry you had to see that go down by the way, he just irritates me so much on how disrespectful he is." He said with a frown. He picked out a human to drink from but before he fed he asked "So what are the rules to this?"

Serus laughed slightly, "It's alright. He deserves it. I do plan on killing him once you take over you know. I have been meaning to for some time. I'm sick of him disrespecting me as an Elder. He may be older than me, but I do rank higher than him." She frowned, leaning on a wall and crossing her arms.
She looked off to the left as he grabbed a human, "Just don't kill her is all I ask...oh, and make sure she is at least well enough to be able to take a taxi home. We offer free taxi services for our human customers. You're welcome to three humans at the most, in case you're in dire need of blood. You should be just fine with her. She has wonderful blood. Very rich and thick." She smiled, closing her eyes while she waited. "I don't mean to lecture you, but when you fight him, be very careful. He's a lot stronger than you think. Also, I won't be able to help you, or else the fight will be void and you could get booted from your coven." |
"Ok." He said as he bit into the girl. After he fed he gently placed her on a chair. "Are you ok?" He asked the girl kindly.
"Yes I am thank you for asking." She said with a smile. "I know he is strong and I know that I could be booted out if I get help from an outside source." He said with a smile. "Also I don't mind if you lecture me, you are pretty crafty." He said sweetly. He walked over to the wall that she was leaning up against. "Shall we head back? The fight will be starting soon." He said as he looked at his watch and held out his hand. |
Serus shrugged, "He happens to get a bit careless when he's angry. Use that to your advantage Seth." She stood up straight, placing her hand son her hips with a sigh, "Well, we better be off." She turned on her heel for the door, her foot catching on a chair she didn't notice.
She stumbled forward, quickly catching herself with her hands so she wouldn't fall on her face at least. She snarled, stood up with a huff and kicked the chair into a wall, shattering it. "I'm on to you chair! You've been out to get me since day one!" She crossed her arms, looking away. "You try that again, I will tear your heart out." A male vampire in the back couldn't help but laugh, "Serus, my dear, you know I can't help it. After all, you can't 'see' a chair." |
"Are you ok?" He asked sweetly. He grabbed her hand and headed back to the house to get ready to fight Cecil. "I can take him, I know it. I wonder what Serus thinks of me, she is quite beautiful." He thought as he looked at her. They arrived at the house, and Seth just walked in this time instead of knocking.
"Hello Master Seth." Felix said as he handed Seth his katana. "Thank you Felix." Seth said as he took his katana. "Your welcome sir, and if I may ask what happened at your apartment." Felix asked quizzically. "Hahaha well that's a long story." He said with a smile and looking at Serus. They walked down the opposite hallway from the meeting room. They got to the arena, and stood in the door way. "I can't believe I'm about to do this." Seth said looking at Serus. |
