The Background A great war had past in the year 2031 after knowledge of experimentation on Humans came to light in the public eye. Now with the civilized world living in tatters, fear of wild mutants who kill anyone not like themselves as well as slave raiders ready to take anyone one whom is fit enough to do labour they believe should be done by lesser beings. The year is now 2049, eighteen years after that great war and the world is still in ruin. The Island of New Edo is a safe haven to many survivors of the war and its aftermath but even here not longer safe anymore from the slavers and mutants... this is where our story begins... More locations will be added as discovered in the story Hiroka Mall: this pre-war mall has been converted into a small village and safe haven from Mutantes and raiders for the more dosile and agreeable members of civalization. all windows on the lower levels are covered over with steel plates and A electric Razor wire wall for lack of a better word is in place around the ground floor to diture *unwanteds*...If you want to enter you damn well better be 100% grade A human. Mitches Armory: Are you in need of a gun? Perhaps some armor? Well heres the place to get it.. Mitches Armory has a wide selection of both. the armory is located in Downtown New Edo, it was once a manufacturing plant for meltal sheets now its perpose is to arm and protect the thinking beings of the Island. and before you get any bright ideas don't try anything stupid, the men who work the armory are more then willing to shoot you down. Taikas Clinic: the clinic is located a few miles from the mall and is the chef supplier of medical supplies and care for which training is rare in this day and age, and all this of course comes at a price |

Walking down a side alley In the downtown of what was once New Edo donavik looked on at a large raiding party that had chosen to stopp for a rest.. Right in his path back home. dropping his shoulders in a defeated manner andwith a hollow sigh Donavik looked up at the sky seeing that the sun had nearly fallen beyond the horizen he thought aloud to himself" I guess I'll have to bunker down he for the night" then removing his backpack donavik retreved his emergansy sleeping sleeping mat ." God damn it!.. why can't this shit ever happen to someone else!?" He wispered angerly as he walked over to a near by dumpster to see if it was empty. Lifting the lid the dumpster was indeed empty but held a sour odor that was none to pleasing." well you know what they say about beggers" mumbled Donavik as he climbed in closing the lid carfully to insure he didn't draw the ears of a wary raider..

He lifted the last of the medical boxes on to his bike. Hovering around him was a darkly clad man. He held out his hand eagerly as Audrey fished over a wad of cash. The man greedily pocketed the money. Audrey simply rolled his eyes before hopping on his bike. He didn’t want anything to distract him from getting the supplies back to the mall. With in moments the only thing he heard on the on the road was the constant wheezing of his engine. The sunlight was going down to fast. With a final rev he pushed the bike up to its maximum speed. It wasn’t fast enough. Soon Audrey was swerving along the road trusting a small head light and the using the moonlight to guide him. His speed also decreased so that his motor would not make any suspicious sounds. At last his sanctuary was near. He saw the electric snake dance its way around the barbwire at the top of the fence. On post were a few armed silhouetted figures. He speed up getting the attention of many of them. Luckily they recognized the sound of the bike as a remotely human one. A figure with a beret came up to the gate. His gun was aimed directly at Audrey. “Name and purpose.” He said inspecting Audrey with a keen glare. Though he had been through this route 100 times, they still did it every time he came to the gate and he dutifully answered. “Audrey, Pick up and delivery of medical rations and female health products.” A thin blue light scanned Audrey’s eyes after he spoke. In the males hands a small flat-screened device flashed with Audrey’s identification on it. The gates slowly parted allowing enough space for Audrey and his supplies to get through. As soon as he was on the other side his bike was taken away from him. “The messengers back, some one escort him to a screening room to make sure he’s not contaminated.” Audrey was prepared for this too, as they hustled him into a near by tent to draw his blood. |
Leto would be sat on the floor with her eyes closed and sat crossed legged a hand resting gently on each of her legs as she meditated this was normal procedure after she had just had some tests done on her or done some training, as she needed to focus her mind and balance herself once more. Her long twilight purple hair resting lightly on her back. A soft sigh escaped her lips before she cringed in slight pain, her left hand going to her right arm as a pain shot up it. The tests had never bothered her before as she had been raised with them, but the tests they had been doing more recently had become more and more aggressive as if they where trying to kill her. After a moment though she returned to her poised position and breathed lightly 'weakness is something I can not afford to show, I will not fail' she thought to herself before relaxing into a meditative state once more.
No sooner than she began to meditate she heard a loud crash and opened her eyes revealing emerald orbs, though obviously startled for a second, she quickly stood and jamp back three seconds before her door came flying towards her landing in the exact spot she had been sitting 'close call' she thought to herself crouching low, she coughed a little as the dust was thick within the room, the scent of burning plastic and paper now filled the air, it was thick and smothering “What is going on?” her voice was calm though showed a hint of worry 'Could they actually believe I failed and are trying to kill me now?' she couldn't afford to think like that, the doctor said that she was by far the one with the highest success rate in her division Seeing a large figure standing at her door she blinked, it wasn't anyone or anything she recognized and that worried her 'not good, where are the doctors?' though with a little thought she ran towards the figure. It was covered in black cloth that clung to it's form, though a second layer of black cloth was apparent and was more loose. It's white hair was tied back with a piece of black cloth, it's face was half covered in a mask, it's eeiry red eyes only seeming worse with the beings albino skin. Her foot connected with the person's head though only pushed it back a few steps in a daze “What the...” she found herself thinking in disbelief, anything he had hit like that was normally out for the count, but this being hadn't even shown a loss in balance Believing it the best course of action for the moment she decided to run while she had the chance and deal with this problem at a later date, she heard screams coming from every corridor some she recognised others she didn't. She really felt sorry for them, but then again survival stated it was either her or them and she choose herself. She moved around silently using the shadows and the noise around her as allies 'That guy wasn't alone huh' she thought to herself, but then again this didn't surprise her in the least, as predictors often travelled in groups, but her mind now wandered how her weapons were her stored. It almost looked as if they where looking for something but that didn't concern her living did. Watching as the guards try to fight off the intruders and watching them die, their blood spraying over her form, her eyes remained calm showing no thought of moving from her position to help them, once again it was either them or her and her survival training stated to do whatever she could to survived and thus stayed where she was. Waiting until nightfall before moving, the faculty was silent and cold, she couldn't help them her stomach turned though she had been trained to expect such things, it was the first time seeing it first hand, they killed without remorse without a second thought and this scared her deeply. She closed her eyes and breathed deeply as she began to feel like she was about to be sick “The fight was futile... if I tried I would be lying on the ground next to them...” she tried to reassure herself the course of action she took was the best “what good would have come of me dying?” she opened her eyes and wandered through the destroyed halls, now cracked and covered in blood in the hopes of finding a survivor. The more and more she looked, the more and more her heart sank seeing the dead mutilated forms around her. Closing her eyes tears fell from them and fell on the blood stained floor, this was the first time this had happened, slowly she brought her hand to her blood covered face to feel the warm liquid 'why is this happening?' her thoughts where confused. “I should bury them... I think they would allow that” taking the first body she came across, it was mutilated beyond recognition but the name tag was still on his lab jacket “Doctor Otomo Naiki” she whispered placing him on the ground as she looked around for a shovel, finding one near by she walked next to the body and started digging a hole twelve feet down. As she had never seen a grave before it was circular and was made to allow the form to stand up. Moving out of the hole she lowered the dead man into it and began to place dirt over his mutilated corpse “We come from the earth and we return to it” was all she had to say, tears again falling from her eyes, she didn't understand why it was happening, all she knew was the people who tended to her, looked after her, taught her where all dead, but she still didn't understand why they all died, but it was something she wanted to find out and wanted to make the people who done this to them... to her pay for with the same callous they had done on the doctors Burying each and every person with in the facility took her three days even at her speed, although during this time she came across her ninjato, kunai and throwing stars, as well as some money, though she had no idea what it was used for she believed that having some of this would come in handy at a later date (All in all she has about 2000 yen) once all was said and done she took one last look at all the graves she had dug before headed out of the facility and towards the nearest town. This was her first time out of the facility and she was scared of it, as she walked into the city her white ninja garb, like the rest of her form covered in blood and dirt. Walking around aimlessly in the hopes to find someone or somewhere to find information... but she looked absolutely lost |
Donavik layed staring up at the bottom of the dumpster
lid seeing the last cracks of light fading away into night though the small opennings, laying for a time he found himself thinking back to his first year in the wastelands,about his escape from the facilty four years ago? no five,it has been five years. "god thats a long time to be away from home" rolling up to a sitting position Donavik took his pistol out of its holster checking the firing mechanisim as he did every night, "Iv come a long way" Donavik wispered then quietly laughed at him and adding,"yeah a long way alright~ goin from a nice, warm, and safe facilty to sleeping in a stinking cold dumpster with pyshcopathic raiders barely 20 feet from myself" finaly satisfied with the trustworthiness of his weapon Donavikagain layed back and let sleep take his mind from the current suroundings, the raiders, the monsters, those bastards at the mall, none of it entered his mind as darkness swept over him. |
Pushing him into a chair, Audrey quickly felt a tightening pressure around his arm as they tapered off the blood flow to his hand. A young nurse came around with a small cringe. She held his wrist to the light stabbing the needle beneath the skin. She muttered something about tricky spider veins under breath before releasing Audrey’s arm. He wiggled the nerves back to life in his fingers as he watched the nurse empty the blood sample into a container, which started to spin it. Eventually it signaled it was finished with a small beep. The nurse returned to the machine. “You have a clean bill of health Mr Audrey. You have a nice day.” She slapped a bandage over his wrist before sending him out of the tent. He wanted nothing more then to find his bike. Every box was slightly shifted when Audrey found his bike again; it only meant that they probably checked his supplies even stealing on or two of the items for themselves. Angrily shoving is bike in the direction of the mall; Audrey found the leader of the checkpoint with a smirk on his face. He guided his bike into the metal armored building. Once inside Audrey felt as if he had a little bit more breathing room. He quickly weaved his way through the massive building into an area he had rightfully claimed as his little nook. He carefully hid his bike away unloading the medical supplies. He stashed two boxes away for himself. In this land where humans reverted into animals, and charity was in limited supply. Although his usual stoic face didn’t allow for any emotion he often thought about the children in the mall. Secretly catering to the ones that he felt needed it. He thought about these things as he loaded the rest of the supplies on a dolly to take to the man who wanted them. It always surprised him that when humans reverted to their primal state, the institution of slavery came around. He walked to one of the few brothels with in the human hideaway, delivering the female products at a hefty addition to his pocket. Audrey always tried to make sure his prices steeply increased after nightfall especially with the dangers that lurked. The bouncer at the opening of the brothel handed Audrey a thick wad of cash that he in turned counted every bill to make sure he was not fooled. He after all had expenses off his own to worry about. There was nothing left for him to do now but to full fill his bodily functions. He wondered off into an area that in ancient times was once known as a ‘food court’ It was still a food court in that it had food. To Audrey’s limited knowledge of history there was no king that reigned over the area. Just venders that managed to scrounge up meager meals that came in a variety of such as mediocre to only the most desperate would eat this. But to night as customary when Audrey finished a job, he would treat himself to eat like a king. Feasting upon the food on the upper floors where only real meat could be conjured. Maybe he would even shower his favorite harlot with lavish gifts. He felt as if he had all the time in the world. For now Audrey was safe with in the walls, what could possibly go wrong? |
Leto stopped and watched as the sun began to fall, her emerald eyes sparking in the falling glow of the sun, to her it was a beautiful sight, one she wished she could capture and keep for the rest of her life. “Sunset” she stated quietly, not wanting to draw attention to herself, she knew she should keep moving but still it was the first one she had truly seen in her life and it seemed to memorise her. After a moment she shook her head, her midnight purple hair dancing around her petite albino frame.
Once again she began to walk around the city in the hopes of finding a vantage point or somewhere safe to rest, but the more she looked the less likely it seemed. 'Did a war happen here recently or something?' she found herself wondering looking to the ruins of what once was a city. She walked for a little while longer before she noticed an abandoned building, that seemed somewhat habitable. Crouching, she moved into the shadows in doing so she unsheathed her ninja-to, she thought it better to be safer than sorry when it came to entering an unknown place. Quickly and quietly she made her way to the roof making sure to remain to the shadows and crouched, but also made sure not to leave a single footprint in the dirt and dust covered floor. Getting to the roof, she looked around it, analysing her surroundings for entrances and exits, points were threats could possible come from or use as a vantage against her, she then noted potential weapons around the area and got rid of many of them. After which, she finally found herself a vantage point in case something untoward happened during the evening, she wasn't going to be caught off guard like she had been at the facility. 'What were those things? How could they cut down people that were so highly trained? Were they looking for someone or something' her thoughts were filled with nothing but questions, she sheathed her weapon and moved to the shadows. Kneeling she moved her hands to her legs, her eyes closing as she began to meditate as was normal for when she needed to rest, but this time it was more than just resting, she needed to stabilize her mind, especially after the trying time she had just been through over the last few days. |
Our day comes to an end and all our Heros and Heroins Have set to broken sleep not knowing what the next day will bring so let Observe as the sunrises

Waking from his Light sleep Donavik sat up and Checked his weapon making sure it didn't get Jammed over night.. Pulling back the slide he Eyeballed the action mubbling" well Heres hoping our friends from lastnight are gone" rolling up his matt Donavik stashed it quickly in the pack. that done he slung his Rifle case over his shoulder and knelt Gathering Stregnth for the next part.. springing up he sent the lid flying open his gun instinctivly pointed towords the raiders but they were gone" letting out a sigh of reliefmixed with a sudden rush of adrenaline Donavik stepped out of the dumpster and stetched" man.. that couldn't possibly have been a worse nights sleep" afew minutes later he came to a building.. his building but something was different.. pulling his pistol out of its holster he knelt and slowly entered the semi ruined structure.. someone was deffently messing around in here.

As a new day dawned and the first rays of sunlight touched her albino skin her eyes opened instantly, her hand instantly going to her weapon almost like a defence mechanism. She managed to meditate though out the night without any problems, which she was happy about, closing her eyes for a moment allowing the morning air to move around her form before standing.
She dusted off her bottoms and looked at her still blood encrusted form, she knew if she came across anyone they would likely thing the worse 'perhaps there is a lake near by' she thought to herself but her train of thought was derailed as she heard soft noises below her. Quickly her hand went to her weapon as she moved to one of the last remaining shadows and crouched watching to see what was to come. |
shooting his Gaze up Doanvik heard something" shit" he mumbled Worriedly drawing his Combat knife he ran to the roof and burst through the door quickly eyeing every inch of the space" I know your here~" he mummbled licking his lips taking in the smells.. the only thing he could smell was blood. with that smell Donavik backed away so to put no space behind him for a sneak attack as he waited for what happened next every instinct told him to run but his training telling him to stand.

Leto remained in her crouched position for a short while longer, she analysed the other's potential threat level, not seeing him as to much of a threat she stood and moved out of her shadow. A gentle breeze passed, her matted twilight purple hair floated none the less in it wake, her hand remaining on her weapon as her emerald eyes eyed the man from head to toe.
It was easy to see she had been near or taken part in the killing of someone or something, her hands were completely encrusted in blood, there was blood splatter across her albino face. “You are not a normal human” her voice was blunt to the fact, she wasn't going to go into how she knew this to be true, he only had to know she knew he wasn't a pure blood. “Do I scare you so much you have to keep your back away from me?” she asked taking a step forward, her step like before was silent and had left no mark in the dirt behind her. |
Tilting his head Donavik put his pistol back in its under arm holster and let his pack and rifle case fall gently to the ground" well hello there~ its been a very long time since Iv seen a sensable person coated in blood"muttered Donavik his tone dull as he pulled his goggles up over his eyes completely ready to fight this advesay who betrayed her skill to her potental enemy..

She looked to him and the weapons he held “The blood isn't mine...” she stated coldly to the man, continuing to observe him almost as if she was looking for a weak spot, but she already knew that by his weapons, after all guns ran out of ammo. Hearing his word she smiled, perhaps in a way that was a little unnerving “What makes you think I am sane?” she would enquire, her voice once again cold as she spoke.
“First time I have seen a gun user” she stated, her voice was void of emotion as was her twinkling emerald eyes as the rays of the rising sun. “You smell like you need a bath” she stated, she was blunt and straight to the point “Do you happen to know where there would be some water?” she enquired moving towards him her hand moving from her own weapon. As she moved to exit the area. As before no footsteps were left behind as she moved silently past the man and down the stairs |
"well most out here wouldn't have stepped out liek that.. they attack plain and simple" Doanvik stated as he sheathed his combat knife setting about retreaving his weapons" and as for my choose of weapons I can kill from 2 miles away... Much more effective for my task then your silly little sword wouldn't you say~." following the young teen Doanvik Snikered at her last statement Donavik shook his" well I slept in a dumpster last night~ so exuess me~" something about the girl was off like she'd never spent a day in the real world

She stopped and looked back at him “if I thought you where a threat, you'd already be dead” she stated turning around once more and walked down the stairs, it was as plain and simple to her, if you needed to be eliminated, you would be. “You can't kill what you can't see” she states simply, both had very valid points when it came to such matters “Besides, some bullets can't pierce certain armours” she moved her arms to the back of her head and out of the building.
She rolled her eyes and the but my weapon is better than yours game “Childish, I would like to state one fact, you only sensed me because I smelt of blood... and even then you couldn't pin point me, do not play games with people you do not know... and certainly do not under estimate me” she stated walking down the street with a content sigh as she continued her search for some water. She stopped, turning to look at him and blinked in disbelief “Why on earth would you want to sleep in a dumpster if there are buildings around?” she enquired, her voice though still held no emotion her emerald eyes showed complete confusion on the matter. Moving her arms from behind her head she pointed to the roof they just came from “I meditated up there all night... Couldn't you have found a roof to do the same” she was starting to think that this man was strange wanting to sleep in such a nasty place. |
Shrugging Doanvik smiled the smile that unsetaled many who have seen it due to his un-naturaly sharp teeth" why would I sleep in a dumpster?? well the buildings are full of monsters and animals~ plus there was a raiding party in my path so I took to the safest place" walking past her he turned his head his goggled eyes providing no clues to hsi mental state"and another thing water is in short supply so don't go wasting it not bathing if you do you'l go thursty~"

Leto looked to the boy and tilted her head as he grinned “Nice teeth” she stated continuing to walk once more, she didn't seem the slightest bit bothered or put off by them, she just found him weird for wanting sharp teeth “I didn't sense any last night, but then again the way you smell at the moment you would have attracted them” she say quite coldly as she continued walking out the city back to the facility where she came from
“Water is only scarce if you do not know where to look, and while you might be happy to be smell like a garbage disposal, I am not happy to be covered in the blood of my family” she growled her eyes narrowing at the one following her, it was still a soar subject and the fact she had to bring it up pissed her off. |
"tisk tisk~ no need to be so snippy~" Doanvik muttered with a fatherly tone ot his voice as he followed the girl eyeing the surroundings he fiddled with a dial oon th side of his goggle lence changing through all his sight options as he walked finally finding the heart-beat moniter " and its scarces becuase half of it is toxic and the other half is owned by those bastard pures in the mall.. Oh and sorry about your family.. we all lose people out here in the waste." yawning Doanvik cracked hsi neck sniffing the air and cringing slightly" but you are right~ I smell horrid"

Leto turned and looked to him her eyes narrowing to be nothing more than a slit, “Don't act like my father, you are only old enough to perhaps be a sibling” she growled, at the moment she wasn't in the best of moods, especially considering where they had now just entered. Her emerald eyes scouted around the area. Just as she left it there wasn't a sound within the eeiry building “My home was attacked four days ago” she stated for the first time her voice showed emotion, it showed sorrow.
“If you need to fix those you should find what you need around here somewhere” she stated, walking away from him to look out an observation window, looking to the three hundred plus graves, tears began to flow from her eyes as if waterfalls, she brought up her hand to try and stop it but all that happened was she smudged more blood onto her face. “It was safe here, but the monsters that came... it was like they where looking for someone or something. They cut through the guards like they where nothing” she say closing her eyes, her voice trembled a little as she spoke “I hit one and it only knocked it back a step or two... but it didn't retaliate” she stated, her voice though pain filled, showed that she was surprised about that matter. “Well there is plenty of water here, that is pure... there is a spring underground that renews itself” her voice was sombre as she spoke, tears continuing to flow as she looked to everyone she had to bury “You'll be able to have a bath and eat up while you are hear, I'm going to do the same and then get moving” she didn't say anything else or pay mind to the man, she didn't even know why he followed her. |
walking over to teh window Doanvik frowned"so... you Lived here aswell did you" He mumbled soberly as he stared out to a grave sporting the name of someone dear to him" rest well Doc" he said placing a hand on the window before turning around to walk away"I know where to get everything that I need to fix theses damned goggles don't worry "

Hearing that he knew where everything was could only mean one thing, that he worked here, but he was far to young to be a doctor, then again there where child prodigies after all “I thought so” she stated quietly, her eyes looking at him “You aren't normal, you are altered like I am” she moved her and out to grab his wrist, to get him to stop
“I live here, this is my home... I know no other” her voice was beginning to calm once more “There where people... they wore all black, they where albino like me, from what I could see from the one I kicked, they moved like I do without sound and without trace” her voice showed she needed more information on these people so she could avenge her family “I buried them all, but I don't think I done it right” she was kind of worried on this matter, as she wanted to show them respect, but then she had never been taught how to bury someone so she had guessed with them “I dug circular holes twelve feet deep and lowered them and a few belongings into the hole, then I covered them up, placing a little marker with their name on it” she hoped he said that it was good, if it wasn't she would just unbury them and do it the right way |
looking down at her hand clasped to his wraist He smiled" yeah but Im a bit more old school then you are~" his tone was now gentle dispite the fact he looked like a tweeked out raider..thinking for a moent he shruggs" sounds like the deathless.. their a mean bnch don't fuck around either" having retreaved his hand form the girl he simply chuckled" the graves are fine~ better then what most get now a days" picking the girl up so she stood" now lets get cleaned and fed~ before that nothing else matters~"

“you are an earlier model?” she stated bluntly, she didn't know that any where still active so this was a surprise to her, she didn't mind how he looked after all she was told that everyone had their own unique style that was dependent on what their use was in life. “Your helper is your goggles?” she enquired, she noticed how he fidgeted with them a lot, so it gave her the suspicion.
“Deathless?” she repeated, this showed she had no idea what the hell he was on about, but she listened to the little information he did give “What are Deathless?” she enquired as she was picked up, after releasing the man's hand, she was also glad that the graves she had done where acceptable “People don't get buried right?” she sounded confused, her eyes mirroring the fact “Didn't they get taught either?” she was showing her innocence of the outside with such a simple question. |
His long hair brushing over his face Doanvik chuckled" yea I was but Im on the record as KIA so as far as everyone here was conserned I was *taken care of*" his tone was filled with a dull sorrow like a child who lost their parents. snappign out of his mini flash back Donavik mumbled incoherently for a moment before answering" hmm oh yeah~ they let me see damn near everything~ from heat to magentic waves saved my life more times then any person ever did" he rubbed the back of his neck absently a habit he picked up from the doc.
taking his goggles down and letting them hang around his neck Donavik tried to think how to explain the deathless" well their sorta teh reason this world is all fucked and destroyed.. they were the result of bring the dead back to life or some shit" at this time hed taken to leaning on the window that looked out on the graves" and fact is if you die out here no ones going to bury you.. not in time for it to matter anyhow" |
Arcana climb over the large stack of items looked around the black cape wrapped around him as he blinked some dusting him self off. The storm that blew by made it hard for him to move on but it was good thing he packed extra for this trip, looking for items he could use he and bring back to camp would be good but the storm threw him off he needed to go into hiding for the short time but now that it had died down he would be able to go looking around for some items.

Audrey awoke with the sun, like the rest of the mall. He could hear the people scurrying about getting ready to go on a raid. He wanted to escape before they had a chance to even contemplate his existence. Slipping off from his nook with his bike Audrey wanted to find a city. When most of his supplies where packed away, he slipped to the exit just before the changing of the guard. He was let out of freely roam the countryside.
