Boy Meets Girl {June/Tink}

This is a one on one for Evil Tink and me. So please don't post if you're not one of us, okay?

My Character Is:
Name: Chloe Kitski
Age: 16
Female

Want to know more? The rest will be found out throughout the RP! Speaking of, time to start!

A groan escaped her lips as she walked into the restaurant, blond hair draping her shoulders and part of her eyes as she tried to keep from being noticed. Her steps were swift as she made her way to an empty table, leaning her head on her hand as she looked around at classmates gathered from various grades from their school, enjoying their time at the school's special party. While a few people speckled the area without wanting to be there, Chloe felt like she was the only one who hated it.

She hadn't wanted to go at all, but her boss at the bakery had kicked her out when he found out about the function. Since she lived in the apartment upstairs from the bakery, she couldn't just go home, either. So, she'd gone against her better judgement, still wearing regular school clothes as she stared around the lively and frustrating room. "Why does he make me go to these things anyway? Is he trying to get me to advertise or something?" She sighed, trying to find something that could catch her attention.

~My Character is:~
Name: Nicolai James Vindore

A soft, quiet sigh escaped the man's lips as he peered through the double doors. Being one of the many waiters, he often hid in the kitchen when events like this occurred at the restaurant. He pulled the watch from his vest pocket, it was only a little after 6 o'clock pm. He snapped it shut and replaced it in his pocket as his eyes glanced out the little windows once more. Suddenly, he felt someone behind him and with a disheartened look, he turned around, "Yes Phyllis?"

The brown haired woman glared throwing him a small booklet and a pencil, "Go out there, and take their dinner orders. The place is rented till close, so I suggest you find something to do. You can't snake your way out this party."

With a glare, he turned sharply and headed out, asking any teen he passed if they wanted anything in particular that wasn't already set out on the bar table. He placed the stupid book in his apron pocket, not needing to write the orders down. He had a very impressive memory.

Juneberry 03-05-2011 04:25 PM

She noticed when someone asked her for an order, feeling slightly uneasy due to being used to being the one asking for an order herself. She tried to recall what would be on this restaurants menu- she hadn't gone there often, so she didn't really know.

"Do you have strawberry tarts or something?" She looked at the man who had asked her. Her blue eyes were glazed with slight dismay, but it was clear she was still trying to be polite. A smile managed at her lips- somehow, it felt nice to be asked such a thing. Shaking off her curiosity, she thought about a question and pondered it. Finally, she decided to ask anyway.

"When you're done working, why not take a break? You may not be allowed to leave but I'm sure you can get a break to just relax with the others here. I don't know if you want to be here, but I know it'd be better to talk to someone then just be bored the entire time. Though taking orders can be fun..."

Evil Tink 03-05-2011 07:07 PM

"A strawberry tart? That does sound good right about now." He muttered silently about the sweetness of strawberries for a moment before 'coming back to reality' The waiter smiled slightly, his red-brown eyes glancing around for a moment, then back to her. His tone was relaxed and sweet, "It's almost as if you could read my mind my dear. We'll see what happens once all the orders are out. Hm?"

He gave her a sweet smile before turning away and heading back into the kitchen. With a sigh, he ran his fingers through his hair, relaying the orders to the chefs. None of the employees were particularly happy tonight, due to the party.

As each request was finished and set to be delivered, Nicolai took them out quickly and quietly. Of course, he wore a smile every time he entered the dining hall, and was pleasant to all the students. After the last plate, he told his boss he was going on break.

He removed his apron and set it on one of the many counters back there then headed back out to the dining hall. With a quick hand through the hair, he grabbed the girl's strawberry tart desert and headed to her table. He set it down quietly, placing a fresh fork next to the plate, "Pardon my curiosity, but if you're the one who doesn't want to be here, then why come? Is it mandatory?" He was not trying to be an ass, but was simply curious of the matter.

Juneberry 03-05-2011 08:18 PM

"I was locked out from my home and my workplace..." She responded simply, in a slight mutter showing her frustration without lashing out. "I work at a bakery nearby as a secondary chef and a cashier. I live in the upstairs apartment... But when my boss, who rents the apartment to me, found out, he actually held the door closed when I tried to get in, saying that until he called the people in charge of this thing and was told I was here, he wouldn't let me in. I don't know if it's even legal but...He's practically my dad. And I know he has his reasons..."

She let out a sigh, before shaking it off. Her eyes glanced at the strawberry tart, her hand carefully taking the fork so that she could cut a piece of the pastry off and take a bite. "The main difference between these and at work is the sugar content is higher. Granulated sugar I think...The strawberries are fresh though, and it was well sifted flour too." She giggled a bit before looking at the man with a more easy smile. "Why don't you get a second fork and try some? Food is meant to be shared after all."

She took another bit meanwhile before adding, "You can tell the chef was a tad frustrated when making these... I think he added extra sugar because, while he was concerned that teens would want it sweeter, he was also trying to make sure no one would eat more then one so he wouldn't need to make much more. Everyone's being worked hard due to this event, aren't they? I feel sort of bad... Work should be fun too, after all."

Evil Tink 03-05-2011 09:06 PM

The waiter laughed softly as she rambled on, "You're very observant, Chloe." He shook his head at her offer to share the tart, "I don't really like dessert foods. Especially ones made by George back there, because you're right. He added way too much sugar. Not to mention, he doesn't put enough strawberries on top. I used to love eating strawberries..." He trailed off, not really realizing how he stated that.

He placed his hands in his pockets glancing out to the crowd, "I understand where the man is coming from, but forcing you into such situations can only backfire. You cannot force someone to be social, they have to choose to be. Take myself for example, I did not originally work tonight. Phyllis called me and asked if I would like to drop by for a few hours. I thought, 'Why not? Maybe this party will have a del-..'" He abruptly stopped his sentence then picked it up after a short second, "..'have some interesting points to it'."

Juneberry 03-06-2011 01:11 AM

"A del...? Like a delicacy? Was the cook going to make something special for the party? To be honest, all the dishes set out on the bar stand are things I make at home all the time, so I thought they were pretty normal..." She laughed it off, smiling still. She hadn't really been phased by his trailing off or anything like that.

"I came hoping for some good food when I had to come here. And...I like more strawberries too. Strawberry tarts are significant to me. So I always get one when I can. But to be honest..." She took one last bite, not even finishing it. "This is far too sweet. I don't think even a small child with a sweet tooth could handle more then a bit of this..."

Evil Tink 03-06-2011 01:19 AM

The man chuckled softly, "A delicacy...yes...something along those lines." A dark, devious smile came across his lips for just a brief second before shifting into a charming smile. Feeling harsh eyes on him, his gaze shot towards the kitchen where the brown haired woman could be seen. He shot her a glare right back, pulling his hand out of his pocket and giving her a good-bye wave. The woman huffed from behind the window and sharply turned around to go yell at someone.

"I don't blame you at all...I can't even stand the thick, sugary smell coming from that..thing. That man in there is purely obnoxious through his food, and completely unbearable in personality." The air about them suddenly had a different feel to it. It was..heavier, 'darker' feeling. After a few minutes of seething, he suddenly became all charm and smiles again. He turned his gaze back to the blonde haired girl before him, "Well then, shall we go?"

Juneberry 03-06-2011 01:34 PM

"Well, not everyone in the world is wonderful...And even those who are will have their bad points." Chloe smiled simply to the man, chuckling slightly despite the darker atmosphere. She didn't bother to cover her mouth, as both hands lay firmly in the fabric of her plaid skirt.

However, his last sentiment seemed to confuse her, as she let her sapphire eyes gaze at him with her head leaned on her shoulder. "Go? Go where? I can't go home yet unless they've already taken attendance or Richard won't let me in until closing time...Though I suppose that isn't the end of the world either."

Evil Tink 03-06-2011 02:05 PM

"Attendance has been taken, I heard him muttering names to himself." He held out his hand for her to take, "Besides, I will be sure to emphasize that you attended until the bitter end. I work here, he should believe me, right?" He gave a charming smile, eager to get away from this place.

He glanced to the door, no good there was a teacher there. "We'll have to go out the employee entrance. As to where we're going, who knows where we'll end up. A little walk through town couldn't hurt right?"

Juneberry 03-06-2011 03:23 PM

She thought about his offer. They did both want to get out of the place, it seemed, and walking was always more fun then just being bored at a party. So likely, doing so wouldn't hurt. "As long as we don't get too close to the bakery I suppose it should be fine. But is it alright for me to sneak out the employee entrance when I do not work here?"

Evil Tink 03-06-2011 04:18 PM

"No one will notice. It'll be fine." He took her hand and led her through to the kitchen. He walked slightly in front of her, keeping an eye for for Phyllis until they were safely out in the back parking lot. "See? No problems at all."

He gave another smile, then let her hand go, then shoved them into his pockets as he walked down the block with her. "So if your boss acts like..your father..what happened to your birth parents? If you dont mind..my asking."

Juneberry 03-06-2011 04:54 PM

"Mom died from terminal illness back in middle school. I never met my dad, so I don't really know how to talk for him." Chloe smiled weakly, trying to pretend it was fine- after all, she'd always done that.

"Mom was sick for a while so no one was necessarily surprised. But... It was still a shock all the same. But I'm doing alright on my own. And I've been working at the bakery since mom first got ill, so I'm pretty used to how Richard acts by now."

Shaking her head, she glanced at the man again, smiling a bit more easily as she pushed the thoughts aside. "But my family likely isn't a very interesting topic either way. What do you do when you're not busy with work? Something tells me that's a far more interesting story."

Evil Tink 03-06-2011 05:36 PM

He couldn't help but chuckle a bit, "Now if I didn't know any better, I would say you're a psychic." Now his story was very interesting indeed, but he couldn't just go and tell it freely. She was a stranger after all and such information scared strangers, even close friends.

He looked up at the cloudless sky with a soft smile, "Well where should I begin? How about, you tell me what you want to know? I suppose that's the easiest way to do things." He shrugged slightly, looking back down to her.

Juneberry 03-06-2011 07:28 PM

"I basically asked what I wanted to know though," She replied with a laugh. A smile tugged at her lips as she watched him curiously, noticing that he'd looked at the sky, which made her curious. "What sort of things do you do when you're not at work? You know, just things you enjoy doing."

She smiled a bit more, nodding. "It's good to have things you enjoy doing, after all. Though if you enjoy what you do at work it's all the better, I suppose. That is why I still work at a bakery after all." Her laughter reigned the air around her head for a moment, but only briefly. She didn't want to talk too much- it would be rude. And she would rather make a good impression on the stranger that just got her out of a place she didn't want to be, didn't she?

Evil Tink 03-07-2011 12:38 AM

"When I'm not working? What a broad question. More often than not, I find myself at home reading. It may or may not be obvious, but I do not like dealing with hu--people. I would much rather prefer to sit with a book and some..wine." He raised a brow at her, giving her a glance before watching where he was walking. "If I'm not reading, I suppose I find myself buying and selling various works of art from around the world. Each piece is it's own book in it's own way."

A soft smile could be seen on his face, thanks to the street lamps. Talking about art always made him smile. Art and literature. His two favorite pastimes. "It's very dangerous for me to go to an auction. So many priceless items to be bought and studied..." His head tilted slightly to the side as he closed his eyes, awhile the while walking in a perfectly straight line down the sidewalk. Soon, he began to hum a soft calming melody.

Juneberry 03-07-2011 03:14 PM

"I don't really know much about art," Chloe confessed lightly. "Literature is also something I'm not really big with. Most of the books I read are about cooking." She laughed a bit, weakly but still, smiling over at him. "I'm not very...sophisticated, I suppose."

As she continued to follow him aimlessly, not noticing all that much the way he was in a perfect line, while she walked at a brisk pace while occasionally tripping on the cracks of the sidewalk that came from being worn over time. The only thing she noticed was the melody he hummed, causing her to unintentionally hum alongside him. "That's a nice tune.

Evil Tink 03-07-2011 04:12 PM

He paused, cracking open his eyes to peer at her, "Why thank you...I remember hearing it somewhere when I was fairly young."

He removed his hand from his pocket, waving it lightly in the air, "My dear, just because you do not read, or like art, does not mean you're not sophisticated. You just have varying tastes compared to mine. And there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. In fact, it's nice to meet someone like you. I could use a change of pace."

Juneberry 03-08-2011 01:04 PM

"Yes, but most people don't find cooking to be a sophisticated hobby, for some reason or another. Though it's a fine thing to me. As long as I can make food people will find makes them happy, I'm glad to be able to do it." She smiled to the man with ease, hands wrapped behind her back with fingers laced together. "I've never been good at things that require sitting still, so reading is never really easy for me. I tend to need activity."

Evil Tink 03-08-2011 03:17 PM

"You will be much more successful in like than I will, I'm sure. You make people happy, and these days, that's very important." He casually pulled his hand out of his pocket and put it around her waist. He then lifted her up for a few steps and set her down, letting her go. "Big crack..." he explained.

Juneberry 03-08-2011 03:57 PM

Her face turned an extremely light pink, having been caught off-guard by the gesture. Looking back, she noticed the crack from which she certainly would have tripped and hurt herself, causing her a sigh of relief. "Thank goodness you noticed. I had no idea it was there..." She laughed nervously. "I guess my clumsiness is more noticeable then I'd thought, huh?"

Evil Tink 03-08-2011 04:07 PM

Nicolai chuckled softly, "I've seen many people have nasty falls from that particular crack...thought I'd save you the hospital bill." After a few more minutes of walking, he stopped, leaning on the wood railing. He had led her to the pier, enjoying the quiet sounds of the ocean. "What other things do you like to do Chloe?"
[[Sorry for my lame posting today Dx brain dead ;D]]

Juneberry 03-08-2011 05:02 PM

((Did you know they never introduced themselves properly? I just looked back and found out! xD Oh well. And your posting is fine~! =D It still gives me something to jump off of, so I'm fine. As long as I can work off it, it's an okay post in my book. -simple-))

"Um...I like to run and cook, but that's basically it." She laughed a bit, rubbing the back of her neck. "But then again, it's also just what I'm used to. I've been doing track since elementary school, and when my mom first got sick I started learning to cook to help by getting a part time job at the bakery. So... Cooking and running is what I've known for a long time. But I do really like both things. I know it might sound weird, but I guess I just like housekeeping and being busy overall. Running helps me do my housework better, and housework keeps me busy!"

Her giggles were gentle as she hopped over another crack to stop nearby, not leaning on the railing, but rather stretching her legs by leaning more on one than the other, then switching. "What about you?"

Evil Tink 03-08-2011 05:27 PM

He was silent for a moment as he thought. He didn't really do much on his down days. It was either reading, art dealing, sleeping, or drinking teenage girls' blood. With a shrug, he answered, "Not much else really...there's not much here that interests me." Speaking of, he could use a little. It's been a few weeks since he's had any.

He looked back to her, standing up, "Tell me something..." He pulled out his watch from his vest pocket, fiddling with it boredly. When he looked back up at her, his eyes had a soft red glow for just a brief moment, "If I needed a favor from you, would you feel awkward for doing it?"

[[Oh em gee you're right..xD]]

Juneberry 03-08-2011 06:07 PM

She looked at him blankly, finishing her stretches by reaching her arms upward as if trying to catch a star in her palm. "That would depend on the favor. If you want me to cook something for you by all means I'd be fine. But if you want me to read you a book I can't guarantee it." Her eyes looked at him easily, her lips curled into a tiny smile, though blank of emotion. "What could it be that you need from me?"

Evil Tink 03-08-2011 06:29 PM

He stepped forward with a smile, "Well, it might sound strange..but...I need your..blood." He shrugged, replacing the watch in his pocket. "You see, now bear with me even if you don't believe me, but to be blunt, I'm a vampire." He watched her closely, curious as to how she'd react. "Now, does that make you feel awkward?"

Now, normally he would just grab a random girl from the street, knock her out with his power, take her blood and be gone before long. Chloe was different, for some reason. He didn't want to just up and bite her and leave. He was interested in her...or something along those lines. He still had to work it out.

Juneberry 03-08-2011 07:24 PM

A laugh escaped her. "Oh hush, you think I'm one of those completely science based girls now? I'm a cook. I know when something's strange in food, and I've gotten used to stranger people coming up to me than a vampire, sir." A smile was on her face. "I've met various people who weren't, well, people since I was younger. To be honest, I only half believed them, but I've gotten pretty used to it."

She sighed, pulling up her sleeve to lift her wrist. "However, if you don't mind my wrist instead of my neck, I'd appreciate it. I get cut a lot on my wrists and arms, so can have an excuse if anyone notices the mark." Of course, most of the time those marks were her own- she'd had many depressive phases where self-harm had been her first thought of salvation. However, she was fine with his request. "I'm used to getting hurt a little bit. So don't worry so much about whether it'll hurt me. I'll admit it's a strange and sudden request since I don't know your name even- normally I assume you'd at least tell me your name first or just not ask in the first place. But... It's fine in general."

Evil Tink 03-08-2011 11:05 PM

He could not help but let out an irritated sigh, "Forgive me, but why do humans always insist that we only bite necks? Anywhere is fine really...depending on how well we know our..donor." Suddenly, he had a confused look. "Oh my, you're right." He bowed a bit, "Nicolai James Vindore, and it's a pleasure to meet you." He straighten, examining her wrist with a frown, "I would say that these do not look like bakery accidents."

He glanced up at her for a moment before holding her wrist up to his mouth, "Either way, it will not hurt at all. I can block the pain signals to your brain. Some say..it's quite a thrilling thing." He opened his mouth, allowing his fangs to show for a moment before he bit down on her wrist. The long sharp teeth neatly pierced the skin of her wrist allowing the blood to flow quickly down his throat.

He released her only a few seconds later. He did not like to take a massive amount once every few months, but rather, small 'snack sized' amounts every few days. It was much healthier for both him and the humans. He laid his fingers over the marks, using his telekinesis to send a message to her skin cells. The impulse them the repair sequence into overdrive and in a few seconds, there were no bite marks, or even a scab. Completely healed. "And you don't even have to worry about pretending it's a cut."

Juneberry 03-08-2011 11:15 PM

She stared at her wrist blankly when he'd finished his snack, surprised. "Strange. I always thought that you had a bite mark no matter who bit you. Shows how much I know..." She laughed a bit, adding, "Oh, I didn't think you can only bite the neck. But we're always told that's the most likely place. So I just had to mention the best course...Though if I'd known you could do that healing trick, I wouldn't have asked for anywhere in particular."

Shaking it off, she rubbed the area he'd bitten, barely figuring out where it was as she smiled and let her arms fly behind her back again. Her lips were still curled into a smile, and she had entirely ignored the man's comment about her scars. "And for politeness sake, my name is Chloe Kitski. While I do have a middle name, it's not much use so I don't see point in giving it out if it's quite alright. I must say though, you have quite a nice name. It flows in a way most don't. I've never heard one quite like it- and I hear a lot of names."

Evil Tink 03-09-2011 12:24 AM

He winked, "There's a lot about us that humans don't know...but the less they do the better. You can understand why." Nicolai was silent for a moment as she continued on about names. "Why thank you...although, yours has a nice ring as well. Chloe Kitski..alteration, very entertaining."

He pulled out his watch again, checking the time, it was just after 11, "Do you have class tomorrow? It's late and you'll need some sleep." While he was rather enjoying her company, he could not deprive her of much needed sleep. It was nice for him to be around someone that wasn't nervous. Most humans had a sort of..sixth sense and could tell something dangerous was nearby. If one was on edge, they all were, subconsciously. It was rather disheartening at times.

Juneberry 03-09-2011 12:32 AM

"Nope. Because the party is a late one they have school closed tomorrow for us. So I'm still in time. And I'm not very tired anyway." Smiling to him simply, she giggled and added a slight sarcastic remark in childish fun. "Are you tired of me already?"

She shook it off, taking a step towards the railing nearby and facing it, putting her hands on it to hoist herself up carefully, so that she was on her feet on top of it.

"I used to do this a lot when I was younger, and still use it as a balance exercise. Balance is important for running. And I get a better view from up here." She smiled, looking at him more at eye level. "Now I don't have to hurt my neck to see your face clearly."

Evil Tink 03-09-2011 01:05 AM

"Quite the contrary, I was hoping you'd say it was closed. It's rather nice to be able to be relaxed around a human." He shrugged as he watched her, "Or..." He casually helped himself up onto the railing, standing with his hands in his pockets. He had amazing balance, of course. "I could do this and we're back to square one."

He smiled a bit, leaning forward, bending at the hip so his back remained straight, "Maybe if you drank more milk when you were younger, you could've grown a few more inches." He chuckled, straightening back out and turning on his heel so his back was to her, "I know a place where you can get an amazing view of the city. It's fairly impressive during the day, but at night, it's like you're looking at a whole new town. Would you like to go?" He turned his head so he could see her, a curious look on his face.

Juneberry 03-09-2011 01:08 AM

"I drank a lot of milk actually. I'm average height for a girl, thank you very much!" She frowned, only half-concerned by her height difference to him. When he mentioned the idea of going elsewhere, she smiled eagerly and jumped gracefully off the railing, landing on her feet- though, admittedly, one leg was bent as one slid to a halt to catch her.

"I'd like to see it if you don't mind leading the way. I like seeing places I don't know in the area. Living here most my life made it hard to find as many interesting places as when I was younger." Smiling quickly, she looked upward to see him clearly. "Shall we go then?"

Evil Tink 03-09-2011 01:25 AM

He smiled, "Well then I guess I'm just freakishly tall." He moved one foot off the railing and 'stepped' down quietly. "I'll have to carry you actually. I'm sure you can't climb a multi-story building without somehow breaking inside and using the stairs. Since I discourage criminal activity, we'll have to do it a different way."

He smiled, picking her up with both hands, one supporting her back and the other under her knees. "If you get motion sick, I would suggest closing your eyes. You've never moved this fast, and that I guarantee."

Juneberry 03-09-2011 05:22 PM

"What? But I wanted to run!" She whined slightly. Never could Chloe remember being carried, especially by her own free will- and usually, when it happened, she would squirm. However, she was a tad too nervous to do so at that point, her hands covering her mouth slightly from the anxiety provoked by the simple gesture.

"I'd rather not break into a place either. But this won't make me any less nervous..." The words were mostly to herself, but she said nothing. "I don't get motion sick. No need to worry..."

Evil Tink 03-09-2011 06:06 PM

Nicolai chuckled slightly, "You can run on the way back, how about that?" He quickly peered around to make sure there was no one around to see. "Hold on" and with that, he ran. Being a vampire he could obviously run much faster than any human could hope.

He passed by a dumpster in a nearby ally, jumping up onto it and using that as a boost to make his way up to the small restaurant's roof. He made his way roof to roof, slowly going higher and higher above the city streets. After a few minutes, he stopped and set her down.

They were atop a cooperate office, he never bothered for the name, that was an impressive 6 stories high. They were on the other side of town now, but from here you could still see the coast, along with every building in between. "Well, what do you think?"

Juneberry 03-09-2011 08:30 PM

Chloe took a step forward, though not going over the roof with caution. Her hand adjusted to cover her forehead slightly, sticking outward as though she were saluting someone in the military. Using this, she was able to better focus her view on the coastline, her smile growing quite large as she tried to find the bakery.

Pointing at the alternate roof she found, she smiled. "I can even see the bakery from here! You can tell by the big donut on the top that it's our bakery. None of the other places in town have one that's handmade and easy to tell it's falling apart like Richard's!" She giggled a bit, lowering her hand to stretch it behind her back, adding the one saluting from her forehead and leaning over. "I never knew there was a view like this if you got really high up! Even a ride at a park wouldn't have anything quite this nice! Do you come here often?"

Evil Tink 03-09-2011 09:53 PM

Nicolai placed his hands in his pockets, smiling as he watched her. He stepped over to stand next to her, gazing out at the city, "Every so often. More often than not I come here to just sit and think." He couldn't help but continue to smile. Seeing, and sensing her being so happy made him quite happy himself. "I know you don't like to sit still, if when you do, do you have a favorite spot?"

Juneberry 03-09-2011 09:55 PM

"Actually, I do my best thinking in the kitchen...Or at my mom's grave." She turned her head downward slightly. "I tend to try not to think too much, but when I just need to do it, I usually go visit mom's grave and think out loud. Sometimes i feel like maybe when I do that she's guiding me to answers, even though I know in the end she isn't really doing that. It just helps. Or I can cook. Cooking is always something that helps me."

Evil Tink 03-09-2011 10:20 PM

Nicolai nodded, "Perhaps she is helping you. You never know. No one knows what happens after death. It could be very possible." He shrugged a bit, shifting his weight to one side. "This is nice," he whispered, mainly to himself.
