Future Dream Avatar Creator?

omg me too! hope someone is creating one :) so i kno which commons i want to buy :]

Lots of people want a dream avi creator, but that's...a bit into the future.

Right now we are focusing on trying to get the bugs out on our current avatar creator and still fix things up. We don't want to look into the dream creator until after we feel everything else is fixed up enough to focus on something besides user functionality at the moment.

@ Sora - It's kind of like Crys, remember? They got the kinks they could find worked out, made the common base large enough to make the creator worth it, then had part of the staff working on the creator, and the main staff still focused on...whatever, as...Ah, nevermind that part XD

Well I don't think it'd be that hard, it might take a while to be updated but to make one you'd just use the same types of format most others use. I'd like to hope someone'd try it, maybe I could make a -trisphee fan dream avi- thing.. but I'd need help so idk, dont hold me to it. Plus whoever does it would need Trisphee's ok and Trisphee might already be on it.

As long as you're not data-mining from Trisphee (please don't ;_; ) and you're not using any of Trisphee's resources (PLEASE don't ;_; ) and as long as you're not claiming any of the items or artwork are your own (this goes from "please don't" to "we don't want to have to pursue legal action") we'll be okay with a user-created dream avatar creator -- in fact, my opinion as the coder would be that such a thing might even be preferable to an official one (less load on our poor servers, for one, and less code that needs maintained by our limited coding staff), but don't take this as the opinion of Trisphee staff in general.

What's Data-mining Coda?

Data-mining is where you go and dig up stuff from the server using any technique that isn't normal use of the site. I don't want to say TOO much about it for security reasons.

I think a dream avy creator would be nice but on the other hand...it's nice to not know exactly how something will look with the rest of your outfit too. And if you wanted to know what a specific item looks like there is always the preview in the shop :3

I don't know if a DAC would help me, personally. I tend to just buy whatever I think is nice. If I don't end up using something, I give it to a new user or a charity.

Trisphee has a toonnnn of items and colors of each item, though... So a DAC may be a little complicated starting up. I guess the sooner the better, though... the longer we wait the more items there will be.

I don't know the first thing about coding though, so. :P

This site IS a lil young, but hey, having one would be nice.

But for now, I think it's best NOT to have one. For...purposes XD *hordes all dream avi coding*

i agree that a DAC would be nice. there's a site (i currently forget the name of it) that can help out with the coding and stuff. you basically just 'fill in the blanks', so to speak. which are mainly the graphics.

I would definitely be excited for something like this to come out!

It would be pretty cool to get a dream avatar creator, but i like how you test them out on your own instead, i just wish we could see the item previewed with a base of some kind

That's on my to-do list, but unless I get some super brainstorm on how to do it really easily it's set behind priority on more important things like fixing the avatar editor.

Fixing the editor? I wasn't aware that it's been broken.

You haven't been hanging out in Helping Hand or Error Report very much, then. ^^() Its performance is acceptable while your inventory is small but it falls apart as it scales up, especially when the server is under load. In the worst case this manifests as changes to your avatar not being saved.

I have noticed this from time to time.. it's not that big of a deal to me because I try to edit my avatar when there isn't much activity on the site. I am sure this will be fixed soon however C:

Hmm, I've notice the problem as well, but then again you just have to wait an hour or so and you can see/add your new item again ^^;

And I guess I'll be saying like everyone has, it would be great to have indeed, but only in an uncertain future, lol

This is the first avatar site I've been on. What exactly is a dream avatar creator? Is it more or less what it sounds like: a system that allows people to make a pretend avatar using all available items?

Yep, completely right, Quiet. Although I tend to use it for OC cosplays and references a lot more.

It makes me think of things like the matrix or this other movie that I heard of where the government hooks everyone up to machines and everyone's mental image of themselves are themselves...in the virtual world...XD. But anyways, I'm kinda wondering how that would work, in a practical sense.
