Searching Through The Dark [Blaine&Divi 1x1]

Stirring from bed he wasn't to entirely sure of whether or not he wanted to attend this or not... He'd gotten the invitation from Vaan, but he... wasn't sure how he'd do with the old gang reuniting after so long. He'd been living in Archades since he had assumed his brother's name. It had been a long time since he had had a break from protecting Larsa, so it was a little shocking to him to be ordered by the boy emperor to take a break. It was almost demeaning to him. To be ordered by a fifteen year old boy. That was just how it was.

Before long he was up, heading towards the shower in his apartments. That was one thing that he liked here... It was simple. He had what he needed, and nothing else. Much unlike that snot nosed sky pirate he'd had to befriend. A soft sigh escaped him as he stepped into the shower, hot water creating a fog in the small stall. Yes, that had to be one reason he wasn't looking forward to this occasion...That man was so rambunctious, so over the top... It was almost sickening, still, for him to be near him.

Oh well though... Balthier was a friend too, so there was little that he coul do, or say, about it. Though the thought of that man made his blood boil. Such a childish person, always had to be the center of attention...! Huffing around his home he started to curse as he sat on the floor to do his stretches. Exercise was certainly the thing that kept him sane all this time.

Half the day was gone when he finally dusted off and started to prepare for the party. He rose from the floor, knees creaking as he stood up; a sigh escaped him. Slowly he meandered into his bed chambers, pulling open the closet doors as he thought deeply about the night he had to look forward to. Well, Vaan would be there, and it had been to long since he had seen the boy. A faint grin played on his face as he thought about that. Yes, Vaan would be there and he'd not have to deal with Balthier since the young boy would distract the pirate for stories he was so sure of that...

Pulling out a nice vest he started to dress himself when a thought hit him... Shouldn't he dress in less, since it was cool outside, for once, and he did like the cooler air... Smiling a little he tugged out a loose knit top, slipping it on as he looked at the vest he had taken from the closet. Yes, this would do. It would do nicely, he thought to himself as he pulled it on over his shoulders and buckled the black leather together. Turning from the closet he paced a few moments, stuck in his thoughts before he nodded to himself and withdrew a pair of shorts. They were of matching colour to his vest, a nice black with a dark green trim. They were the nicest that he owned, and he had been saving them for a nice outing. This would have to do.

As he pulled on his shorts he pondered what he'd do, what he'd say, to Vaan. It was nice to see that the boy had grown and had proposed to the woman who had put up with a lot of his crap. It was almost cute. Almost. Though... it brought back memories of Dalmasca, and he longed to return there. Ducking his head he shook the thoughts out of his head as he dug around for his thigh high boots. It wasn't often that he got dressed nicely, and even less often for him to see old friends. Dressed he went to his bathroom, realizing that he had to at least tame the mane of blond hair. Soaking his head in the sink he grabbed a towel and quickly dried most of the water before slicking the front back.

He was ready now. Ready for anything! Well, almost anything that was... Leaving his apartments he made his way down to the streets, hair still wet as he was greeted by a cheery woman on the street. Ah, such was Archades. It was slightly pleasant here, and he liked that the bar they were all to meet up at was so darned close to his apartments here... Stepping into a place called, 'Golden Cactuar' he made himself comfortable beside the wall, waiting for Vaan and Balthier...

In the mirror he gazed at himself, a faint smile permanently haunted his lips as a gleam of astonishing confidence alighted his eyes. A wrist was lifted as cuffs were placed within the folds of the sleeves of his long, golden tailcoat. Beneath a shorter est of black and inlaid gold was another golden wing-collard shirt that tied itself with ribbons at his sleeves. Only a fraction of this was seen over the jacket which bore golden, onyx and brown accents and twirled to just below the back of his knee. Patterns of spun gold decorated his arms, his chest his back, covering the black in a surprisingly tamed fashion for the pirate as his black pants and golden boots finished the set.

A ring on every other finger added as he stepped away from the pane of glass to fetch his brush and gel. Drying his hair from his two-hour shower previous to this, the time it takes to make sure everything was perfect, Balthier shaped his hair and trimmed any hair that dared intrude upon his face. A total and complete perfectionist by nature, a sudden alert from the sound system above gave note that he was coming in to Arcades.

His shoes clicked against the Strahl's metal flooring as he walked up to the cockpit sitting in the chair to gaze down at the sight. Beside him an equally dolled up Fran though no with no less skin revealed sat and nodded to him as she began to radio in the requests to land in the Rabanstre airport.

"Can you believe it.." He began to speak as soon the Viera set the com down in its holster, her fingers on the co-pilots steering wheel. "That those two would ever be getting married. I hardly knew he was even old enough to know what kissing was let alone love, ahaaaa." He chuckled to himself as he shook his head, Fran merely nodding with a shrug as they brought the Strahl down into the hangar gently in a specifically designated area. Parking the airship, they both looked at each other, checking for any imperfections before they nodded in unison and made their way from the vehicle.

Popping his collar, he grinned widely as he stepped down and into the dusty city with a glint of the sun on his earrings and smile. "Time to say hello to the family~" He cooed.

The groom to be was here. Even the bride to be and princess were here. Typical that the pirate was late. Basch was bored of waiting, but showed no outward signs of it as Vaan handed him a glass and smiled his boyish smile. He wasn't sure what to say to him so he gave him a gentle smile before standing and walking to Penelo who was waiting for Fran to come before the ladies could go and celebrate at the bazaar. He recalled Ashe sending word that they were to have that area, for what reason he didn't know, or care.

Nodding to the youngsters he felt... old. "Congratulations, Penelo." He said softly, his voice as soft and steady as ever. The blond grinned widely at him, nodding her head as her eyes went beyond him to Vaan. He honestly didn't know why he had been invited... He had always felt that the young man hated him... After what happened so long ago. Yet here he was. With most of the old gang.

Sheepishly he smiled when Vaan walked up and clapped him on the shoulder. "Anyone heard from Balthier?" The boy asked, looking a little disappointed that the man he idolized so much wasn't there yet. There was no doubt in Basch's mind that the young man would practically jump the other when he came though. He shifted a little and pulled from the young man, meandering back to his corner and his forgotten drink.

Sitting he slowly sipped the liquid, not even sure what was in his glass... What ever it was it was sweet, yet had a nice stout smack to it. Coughing he made it a little obvious that he didn't drink... There was so much that he didn't do. Even Vaan was doing some of what he himself had never done... Looking down at the ground he slipped into his chair, wondering why he'd been alone so long.

What was wrong with him...! This was his friend's party! He should be happy. Grinding his teeth he shook his head of the ill thoughts and sipped his drink.

"So, as I lied there with my weapon strewn across the enameled floor of the cavern, I--" Looking up, a woman on his arm that he seemingly just picked up, he quickly let her go as Fran followed behind him closely. "Vaan!" He exclaimed, his arms in the air as he gave him a very light very quick embrace, avoiding his initial explosion of emotion. "Congratulations on getting hitched." He added with a wink as Fran nodded her head and smiled softly at the boy. "Yes, I am delighted to here of your reunion. You two are perfectly matched for each other and I wish for a long life of happiness and prosperity."

"..right...that, too." The sky pirate commented with a grin as he made his way straight for everybody else in the bar, especially the lovely little bride-to-be. She was always a spunky girl..one he could..tolerate. Avoiding glancing at Ashe, he found Penelo and bowed to her with almost great exaggeration. The small girl smiled brightly, her hair down and curled, a dress revealing her shapely features as a ring glistened on her fingers. "Balthier, welcome!" She piped with a huge hug though he pulled back and tilted her head. "You look nice. A little much maybe?"

"Darling, for you and Vaan, nothing is too much." He winked as Penelo giggled, sending him on his way when he saw Basch in the corner of his eye. "Ahhh." He said under his breath, guessing that since they nearly died together, he probably should address him in some way. Moving in behind him, he slapped a bejeweled hand on his back and leaned forward, ordering a drink as he turned to the older man. "You seem like the lonely wallflower. Why by yourself? Involve yourself lest people begin to find you, heaven forbid, droll. Ha." Taking his drink, he sipped at his carefully.

Divinitate 01-20-2011 07:57 PM

He couldn't help but laugh at his comment. "Oh? Wallflower, why you'd be the only one here to think such thoughts, Balthier." He replied, slowly looking at the other man, eyes upturned to him. Shifting his shoulders he made the man's hand fall off of his shoulder and he scooted a little in the seat. He wasn't sure if he liked this man being touchy with him...

Grabbing his glass up again he took a swig and finished it off just as Vaan trotted to the table and sat across from him. Basch flashed a happy smile to the boy and waved Balthier to a seat. A bar maid brought another drink to him and one for Vaan. For a long moment he ignored it, but when Balthier stayed standing he grabbed it up and started to sip on it. The other was making him a little nervous... But then again it could be the this drink was taking affect.

He slumped a little, a hazy smile toying on his lips. Looking at Vaan he asked, "Have you picked who you'll have as your best man yet...?" He slowly looked at the other and then at Balthier. He knew that the boy would say the sky pirate. Vaan always had liked the pirate more. But that was to be expected. Basch didn't care...Really. Why should he care. He was loyal to his work, to his country. To peace, not to himself like the low life pirate!

Just as he took another sip he looked at Penelo as she strode forward. "Boys! We're off, don't kill each other!" She said in a chipper voice, holding onto Fran as Ashe stood back behind them. Basch simply nodded and sipped the drink...He didn't care if the women stayed or not...

Blaine 01-21-2011 11:39 PM

"Oh would I now? I don't believe I am the only one in the slightest. I believe I am simply the only one with enough gall to openly say it." Completely downing his drink, he winked and smiled at the barmaid as he blushed and giggled, quickly making him another one and then another for when he was done with that one. She hadn't seen him around before and was simply excited to see him flirting with her.

Looking to Vaan, he glanced as Basch as he commented, then back at the boy with a wry, haughty smiling as the blond eagerly hopped up and down as he drank unprofessionally from his mug. "Balthier, would you do it??" His voice bounced and he grinned from ear to ear, like a puppy waiting for a treat. "You could choose the clothing we need for the groom and Basch! Could you be apart of my groom, too??" Nearly vibrating he was so happy, Vaan chucked another beverage and hiccuped as he tottered off as if he was distracted by something. Reaching hand out, the sky pirate grabbed his protege and clicked his tongue as he turned him right back around and sat him down. "Don't leave your guests as you speak to them. Bad manners you know."

Sighing, he grinned and shook his head with eyebrows high, shrugging. "I do not see why I couldn't be your best man. And no no, you choose what we need to wear just...make it classy." Winking as he finally let the boy go, Vaan nodded vigourously then shot off as he wen tto bade the ladies farewell. Chuckling, the smug pirate took a sip of his fourth drink, finishing it off as a fifth one was close behind. Waving as well to the woman, he smiled before returning to the other blond.

"So, Basch..." He started, eyes narrowing a bit as he paused, waiting before he looked back. Lightly shaking his head, his eye re-opened as he looked over. "..what are you doing with yourself now? Your clothes are that bad, so you must be living nicer than before. No longer hated, it must me nice." Balthier nodded pleasantly to himself as he winked again at the barmaid as he head lightly swayed, something obviously amiss as a seventh drink was pushed towards him. However, he was very much cognizant.

"I don't hear of you often nor do I see any news of you so you must be living a nice and safe life hmmm?" Leaning against the bar, he turned himself fully to the twin as he leaned on his hand. "What is the great Captain Basch up to nowadays? Still a babysitter?"

Divinitate 01-22-2011 12:09 AM

He was relieved, though a little hurt, that the sky pirate was the best man. Before Vaan left he managed out a, "Yes, of course I will." to him. Then he was left alone in his corner of the bar... Shrugging he didn't mind, and was actually used to this. This was his life... He was used to this loneliness. This nagging ache in his heart. He was some what jealous of Penelo and Vaan. They were obtaining happiness.

It was just then that the bar maid slipped him his third drink. Tipping it back just as Balthier wobbled to the booth. When the other sat he suppressed the desire to grin. Why was he happy the other was speaking to him? It made no sense... Shrugging his shoulders at the question he deflected his eyes and looked at Vaan. "I've been working for Larsa, all this time. Its... nice." He said softly, the drink blurring his words a little.

Suddenly he sighed and ducked his head, eyes in his cup. "Yes, I am no longer the hated king killer. I work hard to keep my name out of circulation. After all what good would it do for Larsa if I was well known like you, great sky pirate Balthier." He snorted and downed the glass he had. His head was so foggy. He wobbled and slumped a little, so unused to the drink it was pathetic.

"What have you been doing, Balthier, other then pillaging and taking what isn't yours." He asked as the bar maid brought him another drink. He wished he was as free as the man. That would be so nice. To do what he wanted, when he wanted. Envy pulsated off of him as Vaan wobbled back and collapsed into the booth over Basch's legs. "Hey guys!" He laughed out, obviously drunk, a spilled glass in his hands.

He looked down at him and sighed softly, eyes gentle as he shifted. "I should take him home. Poor child can't hold his dri-drink." He hiccuped out, shocked that he himself was holding down five drinks. His eyes shot to the door and he noticed that time had been passing fast.

Blaine 01-22-2011 03:23 AM

"Well, if you really must know what I have been doing, I have been primarily pillaging and 'discovering' what now is mine." He laughed, a strange true laugh as his ninth drink loosened him up to the point of this laughter. "That is what I do. I find what I want and I take it. By the sweat of my brow, I will do what must be done for nothing is more important than that taste, that thrill of achieving your goal. Aha, should you ever want to break from the droll lifestyle you have, I shall take you along with me. I could use someone who looks like a guard to sneak past a few...obstacles." Smirking, he raised his eyebrow at the man and leaned a little closer. "How does that sound, hm? To be on a trip with the great Sky Pirate, Balthier? Always on edge and nothing ever dull or boring. I saw it is something to try."

Finally taking his fifth class of whatever the hell the barmaid had been giving him, he suddenly blinked and sat back, looking down at the glass as his vision began to swim as the glass was one then suddenly became two as he shook his head. How many was this now...? Five? How long had it been? Certainly long enough to stave of any inebriated effects... Suddenly assualted by the sight of the drunken boy, he frowned and rolled his eyes as he cracked his neck a bit before letting out a deep breath. Only, when he did that, the full force of the alcohol in his system hit him. Utterly disoriented, he fell against the large blond man beside him, his fingers clutching into the fabric of his clothing for stability. "Dear God..." He murmured, holding back a burp which he refused to release out of his own pride and common decency. "I seem...to have over extended..my " -hic!- "..self..!"

Not at all aware of what he held onto, he slowly slid from his seat to stand..or rather what he thought was standing. In reality, he was leaning heavily on Basch, his head bowed into his shoulder as he gazed at the shifting and dancing ground. "Cease...your movements.." He ordered to no prevail as Vaan ousted himself from Basch's grasp, firmly shaking his head. "I dun need tah be taken home...pfffffttttt...!" He whined as he pushed away, staggering to another group of people. Quite possibly the men he was drinking with.

Meanwhile, no longer blocked by the smaller blond, Balthier found himself in free fall as his weight buckled beneath him, unable to even stand as the drinks he consumed utterly dominated him to the point of blindness. "Ngh..." He moaned gently as he fell into Basch. "Bloody...bartender..."

Divinitate 01-22-2011 03:45 AM

It was fairly obvious that Balthier was drunk too. Was he the only one who could hold down his liquor? Sighing softly to himself when Balthier made the offer to take him around the world he couldn't help but smirk to himself. That would be something...To travel with the likes of him. He was about to open his mouth when Balthier stood up and proceeded to fall into him. His eyes roamed up the man's body, lingering at his waist before traveling up to his chest. It took a long moment for his eyes to make it to his slender neck and strong jaw. A slow smile tugged his lips. "A guard type? Don't you mean someone to save you when you trip a trap. Or a pack mule to carry your goods." He sighed out as Vaan then climbed out of his lap and staggered off.

Slowly he himself stood. Just in time too! Since Balthier staggered worse then the boy. Catching him he shook his head and whispered to him, "Who is the dainty little wall flower now." He smirked a little and put his hand around the other, hand on his waist. "Come now, you need rest and I doubt Fran will want to see you this drunk." He said softly, staggering a little as he walked the man out of the bar towards his apartments. He knew that he'd hear how...droll...they were, but at least he'd know that Balthier wasn't getting into trouble.

He felt that it was his duty to make sure that the man made it to Vaan's wedding without being arrested. His hand tightened at his waist as they passed into the streets. God was he glad that his home was close... It wasn't much, but at least he had a home in Rabanastre to return to. Staggering with the other man, he clutched him tight, using him for support almost as much as he supported the other...

Blaine 01-22-2011 04:32 AM

"Pft, someone...to go undercover...but pack mule works..since you, aha offered." His words slurred like mad as he buried his face into his chest a bit as he spoke into it. Completely using the other as support as he shivered a bit from the hand around his waist.

"Dainty my bloody ass..!" He retorted, looking up at Basch to lare daggers into him as he shrugged. "Fran has never seen me in any form such as this. Besides, the woman shall be gone for a good while yet for the night is still young for them. That..Penelo girl has too much spark to let it lay in waste...ngh, God this is awful...when...did you get so tall..?"

Holding tight so he wouldn't fall, his feet were almost propped against the ground as each leg lifted and fell with a loud thud when suddenly Balthier lifted his head fast enough to nearly make him topple as he stood a little straighter."..are you..wearing Bhujerbian cologne...?" Almost snorting, he grinned and began to laugh. "That is adorable...pffft ahhaaa, but it a scent that suits your rough demeanor as it is an aroma of masc...masculinataty...masculinty...masculine...ne ss. Yes...quite...nnnnnnnnnnnmmmmgh." Slumping again he looked around the streets and began to whine as he was wont to do at any time.

"Where are we going? Why did we leave? The party was far from over, God, so aggravating...bloody ground..still jumping everywhere...it's too hot...what city is this?" On and on he went as his grip tightened on Basch, his face rubbing against his arm.

Divinitate 01-22-2011 05:10 AM

His cheek grew hot as the man noticed such a fine detail as that...No one was ever this close to him. It made him a little nervous. "Oh? Its taken you this long to realize I'm masculine has it Balthier." He laughed out, smiling slightly. He felt nice, though...why he couldn't say. He just felt really nice. Hoisting Balthier up so that the other was walking straight he sighed as he reached the proper building. "You... are a lousy man sometimes Balthier." He sighed out, trying to get the door open for several moments.

When he finally got it he drug the other into the building and helped him up the stairs at a painfully slow pace. God he knew he shouldn't have had so much to drink! Cursing out violently he was grateful for his past... Just this once. It was so hard to carry the taller man up to his apartments, but he had the whole second floor... Dropping his hold a moment he got the door open , falling into it as he grabbed Balthier's hand as an instinctive gesture.

A soft gasp escaped him as the other then fell on top of him. All the air rushed out of his lungs and he laid there under him. "Welcome... to my apartments..." He breathed out, pushing the drunk man off of him so he could get the door shut. He panted softly, an obvious blush on his cheeks. He'd had to much to drink... Crawling to the man's legs he pushed him in more before pushing his door shut. That accomplished he fell back to the floor, arms over his head as he let out a sigh.

"I thought it better to take you somewhere you can rest and get the alcohol out of your system rather then have you harassing the townsfolk..." He muttered, looking at the ceiling as internally he hoped that this wouldn't be a mistake or boring. God he was so tired of his boring life...

Blaine 01-22-2011 05:25 AM

Incoherent to his words, a strange feeling came over the pirate as he suddenly began to feel a swell of heat begin to flush over his body, his face flushing hard as his eyes narrowed to see. "Nggh..." When he fell, he fell hard, face smacking the other's chest and then the floor as he was roughly pushed aside. "Bloody hell...?!' He murmured, cursing he forced his arms up, lifting his heavy torso into the air as he crawled towards Basch defiantly.

"H..harassingggghh the townsssfolkuh?" He snorted as he lifted his swaying head to see Balthier, crawling so he was directly over him, slowly beginning to straddle him as he spoke. "Jusss what kind of drunk do you think I am? I am no hooligan nor am I a barbarian so whatevvver the hell itwas you were thinking, pfft, you are wronggh. I jus sit and I think about my life and jus sit and sit and bloody fucking sit so there." Getting really close to his face, his body inadvertently dipped down, his groin rubbing against one of Basch's causing the man to shudder and shake his head.

He had to clear his head from such thoughts for there was no one here to satisfy him..or so he perceived..
"Whaddabout you, ah? Just what manner of drunken mess are you, hm? Surely no...better than I for I consumed double what you did and you sssseem jus as bad..."

Divinitate 01-22-2011 05:39 AM

Eyes widening when he felt the other rub his body against his own like that he jerked up, bumping his head against the other man's harshly. His cheeks were a deep red and he quickly grabbed Balthier so that the other wouldn't fall backwards. Before he knew what he was doing he had the other in his hold so that one of the man's legs was on either side of his body, and his hands were at his hips. "...Lord knows... You'd of weaseled your way into a poor dame's pants and been screwing her...Then undoubtedly her lover would walk in and someone wo-would have to clean up a mess." He breathed out, eyes falling shut a little.

Slowly he leaned forward a little, not really aware of what he was doing. "This...seemed the better choice. Then again... I drank a lot..." He laughed softly, pressing his lips to Balthier's a fraction of a second before falling backwards again. "I...have ne-never been drunk before. This... is a first for me, Captain Droll." He chuckled, rolling his head to the side as he shut his eyes. He wished that the other hadn't done that... It awoke all his silent desires and he was fighting a losing battle at that moment in time.

He just hoped beyond all hope that the man was to drunk to realize what Basch had done. He was a little embarrassed about that and he knew he shouldn't have done that...

Blaine 01-22-2011 05:57 AM

Staggering, he steadied himself just barely as his eyes nearly rolled to the back of his head. He used the hands on his hips for support and squeezed against his waist for further support as he groaned. He looked at the man below him and snorted, "I have been in much worse before involving much more women and lovers alike. You do not give me enough credit for I know what I am do--ah?" A suddenl pressure on his lips snapped his eyes open as he looked down, his face already beat red from the spirits worsening, his head shaking to clear the fog in his mind.

Suddenly, he found himself annoyed..."Was that it? That was all? How deplorable, you call that a kiss? Nonsense, this is how it kiss should be..!" ring his mouth down, Balthier crushed his lips down onto the other, opened the opposite lips with is tongue to sneak it past the barrier into the blond's mouth. He lifted both hands to hold him down as the kiss was hard and strangely passionate. So used to doing this with women, his muscle memory began to seize his limbs as he withdrew for hair.

Gasping, he looked down at the other and smirked, proud of himself for such a good lesson in how to be a great kisser. "See..? That is how...it is down.." He stooped down so that his face was hovering only a mere few inches above his head, eyes completely locked wit his.

Divinitate 01-22-2011 06:10 AM

Jerking a little when he was so viciously attacked by the man's lips he groaned and hesitantly reached up to his shoulders. His eyes rolled shut as he mouth opened without a fight. What was he doing?! He must be drunk to let the pirate do this to him. When the other pulled away he whimpered, eyes slowly opening as he glared at him, his blush vicious. "Jerk..." He muttered, looking away from him. Abruptly he rolled over so he was over Balthier. "...You talk to much..." He whispered, pressing his lips to the others' harshly again.

Nibbling his lip his hand found its way to the man's cheek and he pulled up only to gasp for air, eyes shut as he slowly laid between his old friend's legs. "...You're fortunate. So fortunate..." He muttered into the man's neck, his fingers pulled the fabric away from his neck. "Fortunate to have done this with a woman first..." He licked the skin a little, shuddering at the sweet taste the man's flesh had.

It was obvious the effect Balthier had on him...He could feel the restraint of his shorts already, and was wishing that the other would go further with his attentions... He knew he'd already gone to far... So why not go ahead and try to have... Blushing a little he stopped, unsure of Balthier's drunken boundaries. "I'm horny..." He whispered in his ear, pulling away to see what the other did in response.

Blaine 02-04-2011 10:22 PM

"First...?" Balthier breathed as his eyes widened wide, his back searching for a wall to lean on as he collapsed against it. Oh God...what had he done...he took it from him...he too Basch's virginity..! He'd done tha tplent yof times before, yes but never from anyone older than twenty-five. Nor from a man. The question following the statement jerked him back to reality as he looked out the door, seeing the advent of night. The girls...the girls he knew would be out still, not even close to being done with their adventures, so Fran wasn't going to return anytime soon. Not when she was finally in a group and belonged to a "pack" of sorts..and the sky pirate couldn't bear to take that away from her anyway.

"I..." He began as he looked over, listening as rubbed at his face, scratching the back of his head as he took a step and began to walk towards the knight. Plopping down onto the couch beside him, he turned his head and placed a hand on his back. "It is dreadful seeing you behave this way." He started with a statement that really was unexpected. "I don't very much care for it now...let us see if..we cannot figure a solution. Since it is already nearly too late to do anything...how..about we find some food...I will not leave tonight. Or if I do, I will when you sleep so you do not have to see me go. Come on." Fingers tugged at his sleeves as he watched and tilted his head. "Let us...hn..." He really didn't know..he just wanted to see Basch stop being this way.

Divinitate 02-04-2011 10:45 PM

Looking at Balthier he frowned a little. "Like what...? Emotional?" His eyes went to the hand that was tugging on his sleeve. "What?" He asked softly, acting as he normally would, with utter indifference. He was trying so hard to keep this out of his mind, that he was attracted to his friend. That he had had sex with his friend... he needed someone to talk to. Someone to confide in. But... the only person that he would normally do that with was... Balthier. Biting his lip a blush crawled to his face and he found himself wanting very much to go out with Balthier... even if it was just a platonic thing. Nodding slowly he dropped his legs and looked down at the ground. "Yeah but where. Obviously you won't want to..." he dropped off, stopping himself from saying to much. He doubted that Balthier would want to stay long with him. Standing slowly he looked down at the pirate, trying his best to be how he was before...Before he had tasted what the man had to offer. He was hooked, and he needed to sort it out with someone...but who? Who could he turn to.

Closing his eyes he shook his head and messed his hair up. "Get dressed. If you leave then do it while we're out so I won't miss you you bloody pirate..." He ordered, a sharp tone to his voice as he walked away from Balthier and into his bedroom. He did care... God did he. He had already swallowed his pride, telling the man what he had... That he was falling for him. Why did that even matter. He knew that he would die alone, much as his brother had. Well... less so. He'd not even see the pleasure of being held by someone who cared for him. Washing the tears from his eyes he slipped a wet hand through his blond tresses and made sure that his face showed no signs of sorrow.

When he stepped out into the living room he wore his carefully crafted mask. A small smile crossed his features and he waved to the door. "Food, right?" He asked, keeping his tone soft and indifferent, as it always was. He hoped that Balthier would buy it in time. The man had no right to his life now that he had rejected him. "Do you think they all passed out drunk too?" He asked, shouldering an empty bag, since the sun was kissing the sky lightly. He'd buy some food to bring home. Maybe. "I think... if anyone asks...you should say you got lucky with a pretty woman, and that this should... should just be forgotten..." He told him softly, eyes dropping as the clouded a little. He wouldn't forget... no he'd most likely talk to Fran about it, since she was the closest person to Balthier and knew what the man thought...

Blaine 02-04-2011 11:44 PM

Watching him go off into his room to dress, the sky pirate adorned himself with the clothes he wore yesterday, not too thrilled to re-use his clothing and even worse still that he had yet to shower. Currently, if he left, it wasn't to rid himself of Basch, but rather to rid himself of the filth their bodies generated when he was in communion with Basch. He utterly detested feeling so dirty..

And yet, he sucked it up and redressed minus the overly adorning cape. Such a thing wasn't needed for a night with a..friend. As he waited, he went to the bathroom and styled his hair to make sure he still looked somewhat presentable.

By the time Basch returned, Balthier was waiting outside, the front door open as the man used his hand to beckon him along. "Yes, food. Neither of us have eaten and it's best to eat after you've been drinking..or rather I am just bloody hungry." Placing his hands in his pockets, he waited until the man was right beside him before walking in any direction really. He was hungry..but for what he really couldn't say. He had no obvious cravings which was pretty damn annoying when you were hungry. "Who passed out drunk? The woman? No no, for some reason, they all strike me as those who hold their booze well...or at least Fran and Penelo. Ashe..?" He shook his head as an air of distaste surround the utterance of the name. "And nonsense, I shall say no such thing. What I will say is that a good friend of mine and I "hanged out" together. No one will further inquire my personal life nor yours. So there is nothing to worry about." Stopping, he gazed about the city as a chill filled the air, wondering why it was always cold at this time of night, even in the summer it seemed. "So, what would you like to eat?"

Divinitate 02-05-2011 02:32 AM

The man had such a...way about him. Looking at him blankly Basch said, "Things like that are why I even want you in the first place, Balthier." Shrugging off everything else he locked his door and slipped his key into his pockets, keeping his hands there. At the mention of Ashe he grimaced. That was a whole other memory he'd sooner forget then mention... Yet he found himself saying, "She offered to find me a woman, shortly after the Vayne incident..." His eyes were on the ground as they left his apartment building and started to walk. He wanted to touch the man...to see if he really was there or not. He knew that he was after all Balthier was getting many looks, even if he did smell of sex. He barely hid his blush at that thought. Abruptly he stopped, wondering what the hell Balthier was doing... He was filthy, and he smelled. This was utterly unlike him. Frowning he asked, "Why...why are you throwing what makes you you...to keep me company. We were never close...There were many times I just wanted to lob your head off for something you said...and I'm sure there were many times you wanted to shoot me for my uptight behavior... so why are...why "hang" out with me...I am hardly the type you enjoy being near..." He was so confused. To say the least...

Scrubbing his face he looked around a moment and spotted a rather nice diner. "There. Its secluded, no one you know would be there...and it looks nice...ish." He said, looking at the people who were milling about like they had something to do. He didn't understand why Balthier would...stay. There was nothing in it for him, and it would only make Basch want him more. Didn't the man know that...Shutting his eyes he wished vainly that this had never happened...Then again he wished it would happen again, and again...and again. A small blush crawled to his cheeks at those silent wishes and he was about to turn to Balthier when someone jumped on him, sending him to the ground. "Basch!" Came the high pitched voice of Penelo, Fran close behind her. "Wooow! Balthier too!" She looked between them, noticing Basch's red cheeks instantly.

"Ooooh how cute!" She giggled as Fran watched the spectacle

Blaine 02-05-2011 01:39 PM

ALmost shivering form the reminder, the tactile gunk he could feel trying to lift in a haze off of his body, he looked at Basch and forced an...awakward smile to say the least. It was mixed with both utter disgust at how gross he was feeling as well as a smile to assure the other that he was "A-Okay" with being utterly revolting. "It...is all well.." He almost gaggedout, turning his head back forward as he finally let loose a repressed shudder. In truth, he went out with Basch because, well, he was a little worried what the kngiht would do alone..not that he was an idiot and would kill himself, just...a gut feeling, the same one that told him when a treasure was near and his, told him it was best to put the effort forth to stay. And he felt sorry for him..for what he did. And this wasn't some person or dumb broad he'd never meet in his life again. No, this was someone who frequented his circle of aquaintances. They may not have been close, but it was considered close enough for the pirate. Especially when th eonly other person you ran with was a Viera.

Gazing up at the diner, he grimaced again at the squalor of the establishment, really not wanting to eat with such dirty plates. Conceding for Basch and Basch alone, respecting and appreciating his attempt to maintain the great reputation of Balthier. When he felt the tension return to the air, his eyes shifted beside him, only to see his face in utter blush, opening his mouth to ask what the matter was when he suddenly flinched at the unexpectedly high voices. "Fran?" Was the first name he spoke, despite Penelo screaming first and, in an instant, his face was stitched into the facade the man was best known for. "Aaaah, ladies~!" He said with a wry grin though he stayed beside Basch. "You ladies look well and done, did you not drink? Ahhhaaa-ah!" In front of him the tall woman that was his partner strode up, looking down on him as he examined his clothing and body.

"You smell." Was all she said, staring down at him before taking a passing stare at Basch beside him. To her very keen nose, she could see that he smelledd just like Balthier. Hm.... "We just returned and were about to go eat. Penelo says that this restaurant is one of th best here for its homey, Rabanastre style cooking. We were not expecting to see anyone else."

"Nope! We were just starving so I brought us here! Vaan and I found it last time were in this area and just have loved it ever since." Smiling broadly, the girl bounded and ran towards the building to go put their names in. "Come on!" She beckoned as Fran looked down to the two men. Silently, she strode forward as Balthier came soon behind though, he quickly turned to watch the knight. "Coming chap?" He spoke, holding his hand out.

Divinitate 02-05-2011 02:46 PM

He didn't listen to that two women, just kept his gaze down on the ground all the while. He would let Penelo's innate hyperness infect him. Like it was bound to do before to terribly long... The girl was always so happy and so full of energy! That was one of the things that he had liked about her, as a kid at least. He knew that he was old enough to be her father and that she most likely looked at him like a father. It wasn't until Balthier held his hand out that Basch snapped out of his thought process. Staring at the man he hesitated a moment, slowly lifting his own to take it. Inside he was thinking, "Hand? Why...why is he holding his hand out to me... This is so.. so unlike him. Why would he do this? Have I... ruined him with my...disgusting wants..." his hand slowly slipped into Balthier's and closed around it. He... he liked this. He liked the feeling of the man's hand in his... He was blushing and he knew that he was... This was bad. Really bad... He wished that the girls hadn't come. That he had more of a buffer to put around himself.

Walking with the others to the diner Penelo noticed his red cheeks and grinned widely at him. "He's so cute when he blushes! Isn't he Franny?" She giggled out, hugging onto Basch's arm a little while the man quickly removed his hand from Balthier's. He wasn't fast enough though... Fran's eyes landing on them and she simply stared at Basch a long moment before the waitress came to seat them. "So, what did you boys do once we left?" Penelo asked softly, bouncing as she walked to the table. He didn't know how to respond to that... So he softly said, "We drank." Shrugging his shoulders as the blush finally went away. He sat and looked at the menu, not seeing anything that he wanted... He knew that he had to eat though, or Balthier would most likely round in on him and then Penelo would make a scene...

This was turning out to be a rather miserable outing for him. He'd been okay with just Balthier, knowing that the man was going to walk out of his life...again. That was something that he was prepared for now, but he wasn't ready to face their friends yet...

Blaine 02-06-2011 05:20 PM

The hand was merely to get him to go into the diner, it meant hardly anything more and really couldn't understand the reason for his red face. Well..he could, not from his hand. Taht was...a little strange. "Yes." He spoke, seeing Fran affixed to Basch in her knowing stare, sighing a bit as he was well aware that she knew something if not everything already. Intuitive little shit...

"After you ladies left to do whatever it was you did~" He winked at Penelo and gave a suave smile. "Basch, Vaan and I simply had a few drinks around the bar. Before we could do really anything, Vaan had gone way past the point of all recognition...small kid really can't hold his alcohol. So, Basch, being the samaritian he was, took the boy somewhere safe (whether he stayed there, we shall never know) and then I accompanied him for a few more rounds. Good time, you know." He gave a nod as the waitress came by. He ordered something healthy and rather unfilling when one got right down to it, but was very hasty in his request for tea. As long as he had his tea, he was fine no matter what he ate.

Looking to Basch again who chose to sit beside him, oddly enough, he nudged him in the arm and pointed up to the woman. "Order now Basch, you're turn." Needing only to say those words, he moved to Fran and Penelo with a complacent grin. "So, lovely ladies, what is it that you did, hm?"

Divinitate 02-06-2011 05:46 PM

Quickly ordering a coffee and something simple and filling, Basch looked at the table, not wanting to look at Fran. He knew that she was onto them and that was something that he didn't want He didn't want the women to know. Clearing his throat he listened to them as the talked. Slowly Penelo sadi, "We just went shopping, and did some drinking. Ashe took us intot he palace and let us stay the night. It was so nice! She's going to help me get my fress!" She was beaming and bouncing in her seat while she spoke it was amazing.

Basch couldn't understand the hype and wanted to run away before Fran could question him. Though he knew that the woman would wait until they were alone. Well... he hoped that she waited that long. He had no desire to ruin his or Balthier's image to young Penelo. What would they think if they knew that two of their friends had... done that. And that both were men. Smiling a little when the waitress brought the drinks he seized his cup when it was offered to him. This was what he needed...

Slowly he sipped the steaming liquid, a look of pure calm gracing his features as he sat beside the other man.

Blaine 02-09-2011 04:50 PM

As she waited, Fran watched as Basch pretty much kept to himself and Balthier, as usual, talked it up with Penelo about any and everything, including their last job where they stole a neighboring sky pirate's treasure trove.

Time passed slowly as the Viera nibbled and ate at her salad, watching, ever watching the Knight with vague fascination when the line she had been waiting for sounded in her large ears. "C'mere Batlhier!" Penelo piped as he bounded up from the table, gil on the tabletop as he pulled the younger man along. "I want to show you my sky pirate outfit AND my wedding dress!! I want to know if you approve since you're so fashion savvy."

Being who he was, Balthier was more than happy to oblige, especially after such a flattering compliment, and once he had lifted himself from his seat, the young girl gave a quick glance to the taller as if a secret had just been passed. Silently, they left Basch and Fran alone and without a single moment lost, Fran was on him.

"Basch.." She began, bright red eyes boring down on him. "What did Balthier do to you last night? You do not seem to be able to sit normally and you've been shifting in your seat as if in discomfort. You smell unclean and of...other things. What occurred last night and what is the truth?" True to her penchant for silence, he query was short and to the point. And now, she waited.

Divinitate 02-09-2011 06:52 PM

Sitting was agony.. his ass hurt like there was no tomorrow. The longer he sat the more it hurt. He could almost feel it bleeding again... That was something that he was ashamed of. Nothing else from the night before, just the bleeding and pain he was in now. He silently listened to Penelo and Balthier talk about past escapades. It was... amusing. To say the least. He managed to smile a few times, and was honestly glad when the young woman asked Balthier to go look at her outfits. He could slip away then... Though he knew that leaving Fran alone would be rude so he remained sitting when the other two left.

...He should have left. No sooner were the two gone then the Viera looked at him, much as she had the whole meal, and asked the question he had dreaded the most. Cheeks going beat red, Basch stared at her intently for several moments. Gulping he looked down, then away, shifting once more. "I...It..." He started, chewing his lip a long moment as he gathered his thoughts and tried to make it sound flattering for Balthier... He didn't want Fran to think ill of the man. "We were drunk... so I took him to my place, so that he wouldn't end up doing something foolish... But when...when we got there... He fell on me... I kissed him.. he kissed me... One thing led to another and I..." Cheeks reddening even more his eyes wide at the memory.

He slowly looked at Fran and saw that she was still waiting for his full answer. "I pressured him... He was drunk, and I wasn't nearly as drunk as he... His kiss sobered me, actually... Bu-but I...I..." He looked back down, his shame obvious. "I coaxed him into sex. He took my virginity and made me bleed. When we woke this morning I told him I didn't regret it. And I don't. I... wish it could happen again, only more gently... But Fran... he's...He said it was disgusting, that two men like this..like last night... God I'm so deplorable. I forced him into this and..." He groaned softly, trembling as he laid his head on the table.

This was one of the first times he'd ever been open emotionally to anyone, and it was about him possibly being gay.. In this moment he was so glad that Balthier had left, he knew e'd of broken more if the man was here/

The crimson glare continued to press onto the Hume as the Viera sat absorbing th emessga eshe was just gifted. She could tell by the mna's heightened sense of shame, sweat and quivering lip that he was in a highly emotional state. If she didn't know better, she could have said this man was a distant relative of the Crying Bangaa of the far, far North.

However, as she listened, she felt a slight stir in her breast, an odd feeling she had never felt before...not until now. Perhaps it was...jealousy? Resentment? Or perhaps the food she just ate was disagreeing with her. Hume food was always deeply disgusting and filthy.

"Balthier believes everything he does not understand to be not worth his time. He probably really does believe that the act you and he enacted in union was a filthy act of shameless morals, but he is only in shock currently. What occured betwixt your two bodies is not something to be forgotten, but it is something to be cautious of when you begin to think for Basch, as a comrade who fought alongside you, in both battle of brawn and battles of love, I shan't like to see you become as so many women that Pirate has slept with before have become. Balthier..." Looking to the side, she, for once, actually faltered, breaking her impenetrable gaze as she tried to collect her thoughts into spoken word.

"Balthier is a man who is difficult with commitment. After his father left, he began to become the man you see today, visiting bars, hearing stories of great treasure, renting small ships to go out and find them...when we first met, he was still young and unexperienced but, like you know now, there is a quality to him that draws you in. The wonton style, the confidence and the attitude..but women fall for him like gil to an Arcadian casino. Don't allow him to see you as he sees those women...if he does...the pain you feel now will be a mere flicker of a candle." Snapping back to attention, her eyes widening and focusing once more, she dropped her chin, this time in an unhappy gaze.

"I cannot say...that I like what you have told me...but I cannot defy your heart as it is not my...not my people's way. And given to our nobility, I will assist you in your endeavours with that man, but heed this, Basch von Rosenberg. We shall be fighting for his love. When you are not beside him, I shall be. Do you understand?" Lifting her head up again, she turned her gaze and nodded in thanks to the waiter who fillled her glass with...what smelled like carrot juice...

Divinitate 02-16-2011 11:07 PM

He looked up while Fran spoke, and he felt more of an intense pain in his chest then he thought was possible. "Fran..." He muttered softly, eyes going down to the table. "I am sorry... I should even think of going after him when you have been waiting so patiently for him. He's your man, your Hume..." He rose his hands and gripped the back of his head, sighing softly as he thought deeply. What to do? He slowly sat up, composing himself as he looked at her intently. "..I won't be one of those women, after all I am a man. A strong man. I understand who is and why he is how he is. I will..see... how I stand with other men before I per sue Balthier." He started, holding his hand over the top of his cup briefly when the waitress came around. he was still deep in thought, and that was rather obvious. Though he had managed to school himself well, and hide the pain he was feeling inside. He felt such guilt for taking any attention Balthier may have held towards the Viera. Though... that was foolish. "I'll talk to him, and if I do feel attraction... I will try to sway him. When and if that happens... I accept your rivalry." He nodded curtly just as a bubbling Penelo bounced back, spinning a little.

He smiled a little and slipped from his seat. "I must go. I have...things... I must attend to." He said in a blank and curt manner. His tone shocked Penelo, since he'd been warming up and acting chummier in the passed two years. Yet now... Now he was back to how he had been when they first met up. Tossing some gil onto the table he brushed passed Balthier as the man entered nonchalantly behind Penelo. He didn't cast a gaze at him, just left. With out a word to either of the two. Leaving the small dinner he started off in no particular direction. He just had to get out of there and that was all that mattered.

His heart was shattered, he felt horrendous guilt, and his misery was reaching a new level. Aimlessly he walked into a park, slowly dropping to a bench as he thought. This was such a mess. What was he supposed to do now...

Blaine 02-21-2011 08:54 PM

The Veira receded back into her natural state of silence as she watched the Humespeak. She nodded her assent, accepting the challenge when she suddenly turned at the scent of two more Humes. "Balthier, Penelo." She spoke tartly in recogntion as the sky pirate only nodded, trying to free his sleeve from Penelo's grasp.

He looked up when he saw Basch pass, seeing a familiar glazed look to his eye as he receded any words he may say. He knew better than to comment or even follow..perhaps he just needed some time alone which was well deserved on his part. Looking to Fran, he could see she had said something, but he would wait until they were alone before he even asked her about it. Feeling the gunk all over his body, his mind began to wander to the night before...though most of it was hazy, he could still hear the screams of the man beneath him, the moans of his voice and the tight heat of his ass...Completely out of it, it wasn't until Penelo began to poke him in the arm did he snap out of his reverie. "What are you thinking Balthier...~?" She gazed at him expectantly when he suddenly frowned. "Bathing. I feel dirty."
Casually gazing at Fran, he could see she picked up on the word, reacting ever so slightly though he didn't know what it meant. "I should go back, I need to bathe before it all sets in...thank you Penelo." Smiling smugly, as he usually did, he nodded and placed gil on the table for his meal as well, strolling out of the small diner not too long after the other man. Huffing in her seat, Penelo crossed her arms and rolled her eyes. "Men. Always in a hurry to do nothing." Looking at her and nodding, Fran could only agree.

Leaving the diner, Balthier looked about, almost hoping to see the other man, but when nothing returned his sights, he merely sighed and kept walking...he really needed a bloody shower..

Divinitate 02-21-2011 09:35 PM

He didn't know how long he sat there. All he did was stare out at the passing people. No one even stopped to look at him. Though halfway through the day an old lady sat beside him and started to regal him with tales of her late husband. It was... endearing. He wanted to tell her to piss off, but that would be rude and he had no need to be such with her. After all she was just an old woman who wanted company. From noon till just before sunset he listened to her, developing a sick neediness that was very unlike him. When she finally said good night to him he felt like his heart had been stabbed repeatedly. Hand going to his chest his fingers kneaded into the fabric as his whole body slumped into the bench. Why did he have to fall for the one person he knew he couldn't have...? Slowly his eyes closed as he pushed himself forward off of the bench.

This was a good time to find out how much alcohol he could ingest before passing out he felt. It wasn't his week, and he was feeling the tinge of loneliness he'd long since learned to suppress. Frowning he propelled himself to the same ritzy bar they'd been at the night before. His waves fell into his face as he slipped in and got noticed by the woman who had been hit on the night before by Balthier. As he sat in a booth she brought him what he was drinking the night before. "Is your friend not with you tonight sir...?" She asked softly, catching the hurt look on his face before he could hide it. "...No." He muttered to her. Deftly he downed the drink and smiled a little. "Just keep bringing these please." he asked of her, settling into the booth while he thought about the situation more and more.

He knew that Balthier had just been drunk the night before. That was why he'd done what he had done... Frowning as the bottle was brought to him, Basch looked at the slender woman above him. "Here. That's five hundred gil...and you can take the whole bottle..." She told him, holding her hand out for payment, which he shelled out to her. He'd drink her a while, then leave... if he could get his ass back up and moving.

It was only a few more shots before he sought the waitress out. "Thank you angel..." He whispered to her, his words slurring slightly as he slipped her some gil. With that done he wandered outside, tucking the bottle into the crook of his arm. Walking around half drunk was a feat all in on its self... He soon found himself at the park before his apartments. Shrugging he dropped to a bench, pulled the bottle out and started to drink. It didn't matter to him if he passed out here or not.

Blaine 02-28-2011 09:32 PM

Balthier showered the very second he placed his feet in his ship, bathing for hours as he just got the grime and filth of the past two days cleaned from his skin and psyche. It would be a lie to say his extra long shower wasn't because of the courtship he shared with Basch, but it would also not be the whole truth to say that was the only reason. As a man who would bathe everyday, maybe even twice, he was a little..jittery to say the least. "Filthy filthy filthy.." He chanted in his head, rubbing his skin hard until it shone a bright red. He could not stand filth, he could not stand stains or dirt...grease in his hair, warrant and unidentifyable bodily smells, everything..he just hated it. Finally, late into the night as he returned from the diner soon after basch, he stepped into the main room of the Strahl and collapsed down on a couch, tired and spent as Fran stepped up behind him.

Her shoes were loud on the metal, unpadded ground as he bent down to stroke at his face. Normally used to this affection of sorts, Balthier jumped lightly but soon calmed as he looked up and over. "Mmm.." He murmured as he shut his eyes, exhausted and dismayed. The female bent down on the back of the couch, leaning on her hand as he tilted her head. "You seem out of it Balthier." She spoke, though she knew full well what had occured. Still, she respected Balthier and wouldn't ask him of it. In time, he would tell her himself and she knew this, so she gave him his space. "You should rest, Balthier. We have to go tomorrow and it is good that you are fresh when we leave."

"Hmmm?" The pirate blinked and re-opened his eyes, he was nodding off even as she spoke. " We leave? To where are we off?" He asked, having utterly forgotten that he had a life and that life what the life of a vigilante. "Back to the Bhujerbian mines. We acquired that map of the hidden aqueduct remember?"
"Aaaaah...yes, I remember...will you be retired as well?" Nodding down at Balthier, she lowered her hand and brushed his cheek. "If you wish me to, I will retire with you..." Smiling, Balthier half-grinned as he forced himself up and took the tan fingers within his own, pullig the other body close as he gently kissed the lips. "Yes, come..." He murmured and led her towards his room...turning in for the night...for now at least..

Divinitate 02-28-2011 10:40 PM

It was near midnight he figured. The streets were barren and no one was around. Oh well, that was just typical for him. No one was ever around when he needed them. Sniffling as he drank the liquoe Basch watched the stars, wondering why he was doomed to always fall in love with someone that he could never have... By the time he figured that out... the liquid was gone. Smashing it into the trashcan across from him he slowly stood, able to see that the sun was slowly peeking up now.

Great... He'd not slept. Wobbling to his apartment he knew that he was drunk as could be and that his loneliness was still just as intense as before... He barely made it to the frontof his building before his legs gave out and he slid to the ground. Forming a small pile he whimpered a little, since the pain in his lower regions was still there from the night before.

Slowly he pulled himself up, dragging his tired body through the hallway and up the stairs. He didn't make it to his door fully before he passed out. To drunk to care. It wasn't like anyone else would care... nor like anyone else would even be there. Balthier wouldn't be. He knew that all to well... That man had no desire to be near him. He was disgusted with him.
