Two Sisters Inn ~ a freehouse and pub [casual RP/chat hangout]
----- 'Allo, one and all, welcome to me inn, the Two Sisters. 'Ere's a place where many a weary traveler may come to rest their bones for a bit, an' 'ave 'isself a crust of bread or ale. Warrior, vagabond, prince or thief, I'll serve 'em all. May yeh foind a moment of peace 'ere as you need it friends, an' a light to keep you from the dark. Make note dear patrons, this is a free 'ouse, a neutral zone. I accept all within it's walls, and will not tolerate too many grudges or violence brought in from outside. An' yeh'll be good to be open to all who pass into this 'ouse - you may foind 'ere that the world as you see it is not the same seen from another pair ov eyes. What will yeh foind beyond black and white? That is only for you to decide. ----- Rules - This is a thread for some light RP (I've always wanted to do one of these! 8D) or heavier, if you prefer. Just keep it within the TOS naturally, and take anything too heavy out of thread. - Conflict is actually okay ;D Drama is fun. But no modding or maiming/killing off other people's character, that's usually considered quite rude lol. - You don't have to RP, but if you RP and chat both it's kind of nice to seperate them somehow - brackets/parenthesis for OOC stuff or another color for IC stuff, etc. - Don't feel bad if nobody responds to your RP post, sometimes someone can't or they don't feel like RPing - feel free to try again or just chat, but don't take anything personal, this is all just for fun! - Other rules added as I see fit. ----- Layout: As you enter the establishment is cheery, if a little worn. But the old wooden floor is cleanly scrubbed and the worn slightly-scratched tables shine. There are plenty of candles giving the place a warm, comforting glow. The bar is the centerpiece where you can order drinks, or you can sit at the tables and the servants will take your orders. There is also food, good meat pies and flaky sugar pastries, and even cherry pie! There are plenty of rooms upstairs as well, for a weary traveller to rent for a few coins a night. ----- Employees: bartender/innkeeper Rem more to come...? Patrons: |
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...t-single-1.jpg *rubs a cloth across the darkly stained bartop, sighing softly a little and scratching one of his wide furry-tipped ears* Mmm, s'a qoit noit 'ere. *grins* Jus' 'ow I like it. *moves from cleaning the bar, turning around to watch some glasses in the sink, back to the door, singing quietly to himself*. |
A weary warrior girl walked in, the colorful tailfeathers of her costume dragging in the mud. Her face was bruised and her arms were scratched, and she had distinct burn marks on her clothing from spellfire. "Erm, hello," she said. "Excuse me, are you busy tonight? I could really use a hot bath..."
|
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...t-single-1.jpg *starts a little at the sudden voice, dropping a glass and splashing water everywhere* Eh? *turns around and gasps* Oh, yeh poor fing! Yeh've been through th' wringer! *wipes his hands and immediately hurries around the bar, grabbing a satchel on the way* 'ere, let me 'elp yeh t'a seat, an' look at some've those wounds. *winces at the burns and already starts digging in his bag for a herbal salve*. |
"Oh!" said the girl, a little startled by the innkeeper's own surprise. "No, no, that's ok, I'm fine..." she weakly protested even as she allowed him to help her sit on a bench. "I'm really okay. It's just that there were all these sneak attacks...under a fog that we blamed on them but found out later that they blamed on us...warriors prepare for a battle, but get hit without knowing how or why, and by the time they can react, they've already been defeated." She stopped talking, dimly aware that her words might sound like absolute gibberish.
[EDIT: Oops, I gtg, and I'm not sure if we can double post, so let me try this...] The girl swayed in her seat, lulled by the innkeeper's ministration, then fainted. The coins clutched in her hand clattered onto the floor as she pitched forward unconscious. Her even breathing showed that she was not near death, merely exhausted. |
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...t-single-1.jpg *he quite thoroughly ignored her protests, easing her into the cushioned seat and began pulling things out of his bag - strips of gauze, a bottle of cleansing lotion and salve* I shan't take no for an answer miss, one yehr foot crosses the thresh'old yehr me patron, an' it's me duty to see to yehr needs, roight? *listens quietly, face grim* Yes...I know just wot yeh mean. There's no 'ow...an no why... *gently rubs the salve into her skin to sooth the burns* I've managed t'keep meself an me inn neutral an' away from th' fighting, fehr 'ow long.... *shakes his head, and instead smiles at her reassuringly* Yeh'll be safe 'ere fehr awhoile, miss. *frowns as the girl seems to sway, then yelped as her eyes closed, catching her before she slid to the ground* Oi! ...*sighed, frowning out the window a moment and then picked her up to lay her in a reclining seat towards the back of the inn, where it was quieter, and finished cleaning her wounds, wrapped them in gauze, then found a blanket and pillow, leaving her there to rest*. [[I'm so out of practice with this lol edit: okay, later!]] |
[You alive out there Rem? xD] A young female entered the Inn, she was early twenties wearing a rather revealing outfit. She didn't mind too much, she carried clothes with her to change into easily. She had a calm look about her face as she walked in slowly in her heels. Despite being wrapped in thorns, she wasn't bleeding or even in pain. The rose she held in her hand grew smaller and she placed it in her hair. She was slightly curious not sure if she should sit down. "Hello...?" she called out. |
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...t-single-1.jpg *coming out from a curtained archway, he smiles at the new arrival* 'allo! One moment miss, I'll be roight there.. *checking on the sleeping girl from earlier, he jogs over to the bar and smiles easily at the girl, though he does look a little surprised at her outfit* Wot c'n I get fehr yeh? Drink? Food?. [[I'm here! I'm trying to get a little wee bit more battle in. And am sucking at it lol! xD]] |
[I know the feeling. xD All I need now are swords and I rather not continue to take losses to get them.] She smiled polite looking at the man before her. She walked over to the bar counter and took a seat. "Oh, I'm sorry. I'm fine thank you, just a little bored. I'd love to just chat get some stories out and such..." she spoke softly. This girl was kind of timid despite appearance, she was rather shy didn't want to be much of a burden. "Is that alright with you...?" |
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...t-single-1.jpg *pulls up a stool himself and sits across from her, resting his arms on the bar, folding them, his green cat tail flicking back and forth behind him. His deep violet eyes crinkled as he smiled back at her - well the visible one, the right one was hidden with an eyepatch* That sounds just lovely miss...or should I continue callin' yeh miss? 'Ow about we start wiv some introductions. *holds out his hand* I'm Rem, th' owner of this foine establishment.. [[Does getting losses affect you in any way? Like, do you actually level up with wins? And I just died twice because it played without me! xDDD My attention span is NIL]] |
[Nah... I just like having more wins than losses. It doesn't effect what you get or how quick you get currency. It's just I bought all the feather bundles, I need the sword ones to get a complete set.] She gently shook his hand she had a loose grip being so delicate. She smiled softly trying to be a little more open and a little less shy. "Rem? What a lovely name. I myself am named Chi. Quite a cozy establishment indeed." Her hand was unusually cold while the rest of her was warm even though her outfit wasn't concealing at all. She had unusually pale skin for someone who looked to be human. |
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...t-single-1.jpg *frowning briefly at her cold touch, he slid off the stool* Chi, that's also a lovely name. I'm goin' to bank up the fire, yehr cold as ice... *moving to do so, he looked at her over his shoulder* Would yehr loik a blanket...or per'aps a hot bowl of soup? *pausing, he chuckled at himself* Yeh'll 'ave t'pardon me Chi, I get so used to wontin' to serve me customers... *he moved back to his stool, the fire warming up the cool room a bit and pulled out a glass, unstoppering a bottle to pour himself a drink* Are yehr sure yehr not thirsty? I 'ave water if yeh don' drink liquor.. [[Ah okay, I gotcha. AND I JUST LET IT KILL ME AGAIN XD I'm terrible at this]][/QUOTE] |
[Aww, you'll figure it out eventually. xD] She touched her hand and was rather surprised. "Thank you." She paused. "My hands are rather cold, how odd..." She crossed her legs when he rose and felt her thigh. "Just my hands though, hmm... No no, I'm alright I assure you." She smiled warmly at his offer but shook her head. "I'm fine for now, thank you. Plus I'm more into vodka." She laughed lightly her hand near her chin before lowering it on top of her other hand on her thigh. "Beg my rude question but this place looks rather old, how long has it been here?" |
The doors opened once more - it seemed that inn's business was finally picking up tonight - and another person entered. Her steps were light, not making much noise. Her clothes were mainly black, with accents of silver and blue, but most noticeable traits in her were two large, black cat ears perked out of her hair, and her tail. But if one looked at her long enough, they had the strangest feeling as if they were missing out a small, but very important detail.
After her, a small fur-ball like creature rushed in and started jumping around here. The girl said something to it quietly and shut the door, then looked around, her gaze stopped at the counter. "Good evening to both of you," she said as she took a seat few chairs away from the other woman. The fur-ball like creature sat down next to her seat, ears perked up, curiously looking about. "I hope you don't mind... pets in here. But the weather is bad, and I didn't want to leave him outside," young girl directed at the man who seemed to of responsibility here. [OO C: Hope you don't mind me joining ^^; ] |
[Not a problem with me Rainy.] She looked over at the young woman who had entered. The cat like look of this girl enticed her. She was slightly curious and thought to herself "Weather...?" as she soon looked out the window she noticed it wasn't pleasant outside. She turned back to Rem but moved back a little bit so he could see the new female that had entered the room. Chi liked something about this girl, she wasn't quite sure though and the pet looked rather interesting too. "Welcome... I suppose..." she said rather shyly. |
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...t-single-1.jpg *laughs at Chi's words* Ahh, vodka, yes, that does me -roight- in, I know better. *pours his drink, a glass of amber liquid, and sets the bottle back down, stoppering it* And all right, but you need anyfing, y'know who to ask... Oh haha *chuckles and sips* No, it's not rude at all, very astute observation. This place 'as been in me family for a long time...*pauses, his brow furrowing a bit as he looks down at the glass in his hand* Me mother's side ov th' family, at least. An when she died, it wos left to me brother - but 'e didn' wont t'be a mere innkeeper. 'e got ideas in 'is head to join up in this bloody fool--- *stops and shakes his head, attempting to smile* Anyway. 'E left it to me, now it's all mine. Wot a treasure, eh? *laughs and sips again, looking up as the door opens* *stands up to greet the newcomer* Welcome, miss! *eyes the ball of fluff curiously, trying to discern just what it is* No, pets are all roight, long as they don' make a mess or bother customers. May I ask...jus' wot sort of pet that -is-? [[Not at all Rainy! 8D Glad to have you]] |
"Thank you," a smile appeared on her face and eyes lit up along with up as she looked at the other woman, but then her attention turned back to the man.
"Oh, I honestly do not know," she helplessly shrugged her shoulders. "I met him few years ago, somewhere quite far from here, fed him, and somehow, he seemed to take liking of me and has been following me since then. But he is practically harmless, unless you have ill intentions. But," she looked at both of them and smiled again, "it seems neither of you do, so there should not be any problems. He can have a bit of temper to him, though, and dos not like to be touched by stranger." She paused and then looked down at the small creature, with warm look in her eyes. "I call him Makon and he seems to not mind," the girl finished. [OO C: Yay, thank you. x3 Sorry I am slow at replying. Dx] |
"Despite appearances I can hold myself alright with alcohol. I'm not such a harsh drunk either." She smiled a little regardless of the fact that she made herself seem foolish. "Certainly, thank you." "Oh, I see. I don't really have a place to call my own. My parents left me nothing when they passed. No siblings either. It must be nice to have something as grand as this regardless of the age. It's rather cozy and sturdy for an older Inn." She fiddled nervously with the rose in her hair trying to adjust it perfectly. "It is quite the treasure..." her voice trailed off slightly. "You're welcome..." she spoke quietly to the other female. |
She titled her head to the side, listening to the conversation, and nodded to her self as strangely dressed woman spoke of her family and how she was alone in the world. Still, she did not butt in with her own story, whatever it might be, and let her eyes wander around the room, corners of her mouth tugging upwards. "I do quite like the feel of this place. With a story, but yet so welcome. Does not happen often with old, much experienced houses like this," the girl said.
|
Then girl turned to the innkeeper again. "May I ask how much a room would cost? I would like to rest for few hours," she said, but a slight worried, half thoughtful, expression appeared on her face as she spoke.
[I simply need to go for about half hour-hour. Dx -sad kitteh-] |
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...t-single-1.jpg *resists the urge to poke the small ball of fluff* Well then miss, would you - or Makon - loik somefing t'drink, or eat? We 'ave potato soup, meat pies...I fink some pastries left... I'm Rem, by the waiy. An thank yeh Chi, I loik t'fink it's a place that c'n stand fehr ages...even through chaotic toimes such as these. *notices the roses and thorns* Are yeh sure yehr...comfortable, there? Those aren't 'urting yeh? edit: *turns to the newcomer* A room is 20 aurum, miss, or 70 for a five night stay. That includes meal service. If yeh'd like a room, yeh c'n 'ead on up, and we'll settle up later. [[Not as slow as me Rainy! xD I got distracted by something so I will probably be posting reaaally slowly. ]] |
"No, nothing for me, thank you, but maybe I could take a slice of meat pie and bowl of water for Makon?" she asked, giving another warm look at the black and blue colored fluffy creature.
"And it is nice to meet you, Rem." She paused, as if thinking something over. "I don't really have a name, but fancy calling my self Sadrain. But you can call me Rain or Saddie, if you so chose to." "Oh, I see," her face lightened up. "That sounds reasonable indeed. Well, I will feed Makon and then head up indeed. He is tired and hungry from our travel, I bet, and I feel like I need some rest as well. This has been a long day." |
"You're quite welcome, Rem." She spoke softly and let out a quiet sigh. "Yes, times like these are not something to relax over. The war is cruel..." She tried to appear less gloomy though but straightening herself up and throwing on a warm smile. She blinked as question but felt happy. "How kind, someone being concerned about little old me." she thought but finally spoke, "I'm perfectly fine. These thorns don't actually hurt, they're honestly embedded in my skin which you may think, oh no that's worse, but it's really not. I've had them for so long they're like tattoos to me, I feel no pain what-so-ever. I appreciate your concern though, Rem." [Feel free to come back Rainy. I actually haven't slept yet, haha.] |
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...t-single-1.jpg Comin' roight up! An' I fink Rainy suits you *grins and bows exaggeratedly to Makon* One meat pie and a bowl of water for Sir Makon. *disappears back behind the curtained entrance behind the bar, returning shortly enough with a small steaming pie and a bowl of clear cool water, setting them down in front of the litle furball, wondering just exactly how the thing eats* That will be foine Rainy...I'll just start you a tab, then, if yeh plan t'stay the noight. It's been quoite a difficult day for many, I s'spect. *smiles at her and inclines his head* Sleep well when y'do. *blinks at Chi's explaination and shakes his head, marveling at that* What an..interesting thing, indeed, Miss Chi. I'm glad t'ear that, though. Oh, and if yeh plan on stayin' as well, yeh c'n also take a room, they're all open I b'lieve...I 'ave t'do some clean-up in the back, but if yeh need anyfing, I'm 'ere. *bows to her as well and heads back behind the door* [[Aigh actually I do need to go, but I"ll be back later, have a good day guys!]] |
"I suppose it is... Pain is a simple thing to get over though... don't fret about me." She nodded politely. "Oh no, I'm fine. I don't sleep much either these days." She said this with an innocent smile on her face. [Mkay. I should sleep anyways. xD] |
Few hours later, Rain wandered downstairs again. Resting never took long for her, since she never actually slept. Sometimes, she thought about holding an actual human-like cover, but it usually quickly fell trough. Possibly because Rain never truly had found it as a must. This world was inhabited by many strange beings and she was certainly not the strangest.
Finding the bottom room eerily empty, except for the sleeping girl, ("I wonder if it she enjoys being able to dream."), Rain settled down at one of the tables in the back of the inn and observed the surroundings. There were many thoughts on her mind, like about how seemingly kind had been the innkeeper and how the other woman, Chi, was faring now. And how long could she afford staying here. Since, except for Makons, she had no need for a roof above her head, there was no point in lingering here. But... The girl stretched her hands over the candle that was lit on her table, putting them close to the flame, nearly too close for a human to not burn their flesh, "this place is so warm." She whispered to her self. |
Chi fell out of the chair she was resting in. "I must have dozed off..." she thought as she straightened herself up. She looked upon the female that called herself Rain and quickly looked away. Chi was rather too shy to communicate with anyone who didn't communicate with her first. This is just how she was. |
The first visitor woke briefly in a sneezing fit. She let her eyes wander around the room, determined she was safe, and relaxed. She smiled at hearing the conversation of the other warrior women with the innkeeper. Good...so there are others...and from the tones of their voices, there's no reason to panic here.
She dropped back into a doze. ((sorry for quick posting...I am going to be changing computers shortly)) |
The young woman heard a noise but thought nothing of it. "This is an Inn after all." she thought to herself. She looked about the walls and flooring. "Such a sturdy building. For being so old it doesn't creak. I like that." She smiled to herself with this thought. [Not a problem. :3] |
"Oh, hello. I hope you rested well and I did not wake you," Rain said, with a small smile and pulled her hands, rather unwillingly back. "Your name was Chi, am I right?" she continued, hoping the woman would not mind her speaking and she had been quiet out of shyness, not because she didn't want to talk with anyone, or particularly her.
She felt someone move upstairs, but much like Chi, she concluded that it was one of the patrons and paid not much attention to it. [OO C: Rush post before school Dx] |
It was one thing to be out at night, quite another to be out when it was raining. But as luck would have it, Michael was. And had been. For a couple hours now. When had he lost his wallet? Wasn't sure. At least he had what little money he'd stuffed into his pockets when he bought his jacket- not hardly as thick as the man selling it had claimed. No matter. He liked the rain. Really.
It was the wind he hated. "Figures I'd be half soaked t' the soul an buy a jacket what was thinner than ricepaper." He rolled his eyes, swearing under his breath as he danced in and out of a puddle, spotting the shimmering lights of what looked like an inn to him. Could have been a big house- but call him crazy, the placement seemed perfect for random passersby. He quickened his step under the surprise downpour, hopping up onto the steps as he dug in his pockets. Well, it wouldn't get him more than a couple nights, but he didn't need more than that. Right? ...Just keep deluding yourself. He pushed his way inside, glancing around with one pierced eyebrow raised, ice-blue eyes wary and somewhat despondent. Coffee. He needed coffee. "Uh...'llo?" He tried desperately not to leak water all over the floor- but then..he was very nearly made of the stuff by now. |
Espy kicked the door open and walked over to a dark corner, content to simply study and listen to the conversations that cropped up.
|
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...t-single-1.jpg The curtains covering the archway behind the bar pushed open and Rem poked his head out, having heard the tinkling bell over the door that indicated customers. "'Allo?" He saw a drenched fellow shivering on the threshhold and grabbed some towels folded behind the bar, hurrying over to him. "'allo sir, welcome to the Sisters - 'ere, lets get yeh dried an 'eated up b'fore yeh catch yehr deaf..." He busied himself patting the gentleman's hair, draping the towels over him and jogged over to pull a stool up to the fireplace, banking the fire so the coals glowed and gave off more heat. "'Ave a seat 'ere near the 'earth an' I'll return shortly wiv a warm drink, or soup, if yeh'd prefer--" Just then the door swung open, a woman entering wordlessly, taking a seat in the corner. He eyed the new patron, and then stepped closer to her. "'Allo miss - would yeh be needin' any service t'noight?" ... |
"I'm....fine," Espy replied in barely more than a whisper. "Although...a pint of tonic would be welcome," she added, handing over a silver token with one gloved hand.
|
Michael shuddered and nodded, jerking his head about as he watched the man busy himself, like a real bumblebee at his task. It was like being suddenly accousted by a very friendly tornado, or a wave with a funny accent. ...Alright so he wasn't one to really complain about accents, not with his odd garbled english/japanese/chinese/make believe accent, but hey...had to have something to judge, right? ..Naw.
"Hey thanks. If y'wouldn' mind a cup 'a coffee 'er somethin'? I think I got enough for a couple nights too..I mean if y'really are an inn 'n stuff. Shouldn' 'a gone outside when I figured it smelled like rain." He complained the last, taking his jacket off so reveal the sopping wet clothes beneath as he scooted himself as close to the fire as he could stand. He probably looked like a drowned rat. Great~ |
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...t-single-1.jpg Rem eyed the woman, not quite believing her claim, but didn't push into her business, merely taking the coin and bowing respectfully. "As y'wish miss, I'll bring that roight out." He pocketed the coin and went to pick up the sopping towels dropped behind the shivering male like breadcrumbs. "I b'lieve I've a few bags left of fresh beans...I'll 'ave those ground f'yeh soon enough." He smiled at the other, taking his discarded coat too, glancing back at the trail of puddles, making note to get a mop as well. "This's an inn, yehr roight. I'll run yehr a tab so's yeh c'n stay the noight an we'll settle up after." He paused a moment, thinking...if the guy had gone outside into the rain, why hadn't he simply gone back inside instead of making what appeared to be a long trek in the downpour? That is, if he had an inside to -really- go back to... He cleared his throat and leaned in a little to murmur more quietly. "An if yehr needin' more'n a couple noights stay, we can make an arrangement of sorts I'm sure." He stepped back, gathering up the clothes and went to get his customer's orders. ... |
....I must look suspicious again, thought Espy, as she unfastened her scarf and cloak. Taking a deep breath, she allowed herself to relax.
|
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...t-single-1.jpg Coming in from the back room with a sack of coffee and a mop, he set the crystals to brew, the smell of coffee soon permeating the room. After a moment fiddling behind the bar, he brought the drink to the woman on a tray, including a small loaf of bread, warmed, as complimentary, just in case she was hungry as well. "'ere yeh are miss," he smiled and set the items down. "I'm Rem, if yeh need anyfing else. Don' 'esitate t'ask." And he returned to the bar, grabbing the mop and began to clean up the puddles as the coffee brewed. ... |
A ghost of a smile flickered across Espy's features.
"...Thank you," she replied. Looking around at the slippery floor, she asked, "Do you need any help with-" she gestured at the mops "-this?" |
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...t-single-1.jpg Well that was certainly better than the serious expression prior and Rem returned the smile with his own slightly lopsided unselfconscious grin. "Oh, thank y'muchly miss, but it wouldn't do fehr me t'make a customer work." He paused and then grinned more. "Unless that customer really -wonts- t'elp. There's towels an' another mop b'ind th' bar, if yeh wont t'start on th' other end...we'll meet in th' middle an' that'll be me noightly moppin' done, then." ... |
