Snack Shack

(Guess who completely forgot the Tris Carnival event existed.)

Been busy with real (?) life, but I found some time to set up a refreshments stand! I was thinking about opening a sideshow tent, but I don't have anything to sideshow-off.

...-ducks tomato-

Anyways, come one, come all, to the Snack Shack! We've got popcorn, nachos, funnel cake, fried Oreos, kid-friendly drinks, adult-friendly drinks, snacks, snakes, a couple invisible chameleons (please help me find them, thanks), and one particularly audacious escapee from a magician's hat.

Feel free to (actually, please) stay and chat. I might be somewhat absent for the duration, because life happened, but.

Espy 06-26-2018 03:19 PM

Potential art? IDK. anyways open blargh i'm so tired why did i try to pull two consecutive all-nighters

mdom 06-26-2018 03:26 PM

Fried oreos sound so American ahahaha

Glitch 06-26-2018 03:29 PM

oh fried oreos sounds pretty good.

I'm sorry about life.

Espy 06-26-2018 03:31 PM

I've never actually had friend Oreos, but they're a popular snack at the CMU Carnival, soooo. ...TBH, they sound kind of disgusting to me.

mdom 06-26-2018 03:36 PM

I think I'd try because I like trying (sweet) food, but not twice XDDD

XoGizmooX 06-26-2018 03:38 PM

Fried pickles and fried coke a cola

mdom 06-26-2018 03:41 PM

I'm not a fan of most sweet foods. I make an exception for extra dark chocolate, and ice cream.

Ew. Pickles. Fried....soda?

Derpy McBlueEyes 06-26-2018 04:25 PM

Texas frys everything >.<

mdom 06-26-2018 04:37 PM

My sister took me to a place that has cotton candy with ice cream @_@
it was... overly sweet
and that's coming from someone who lives for sugar

Witchchylde 06-26-2018 04:42 PM

I do know that deep fried Snickers originated in Scotland, and it only works if the candy bar is frozen first.

Kaderin Triste 06-26-2018 04:42 PM

So, I have actually had deep fried oreos before. They are really good, but they basically give you a plate of them and then top it with chocolate sauce and whipped cream. So it definitely is something you'd want to share with a group. Delicious, but extra sweet and SUPER fatty.

I will admit that deep fried pickles is a guilty pleasure of mine. Occasionally, if a restaurant has them, I'll order some. I've also had deep fried avocado before. Which is just a big mistake...

XoGizmooX 06-26-2018 04:58 PM

Our fair even had fried BUTTER

Witchchylde 06-26-2018 05:00 PM

I assume that only works with real butter and not a margarine substitute.

mdom 06-26-2018 05:03 PM

deep fried vegetables I like
other stuff... not sure xD

XoGizmooX 06-26-2018 05:31 PM

Deep-fried butter is a snack food made of butter coated with a batter or breading and then deep-fried.[1] The dish has been served at several fairs in the United States; among them, the State Fair of Texas in Dallas, Texas, and the Iowa State Fair in Des Moines, Iowa.[1][2] It has a significant buttery flavor, which has been compared to that of French toast. Fried butter is a similar dish, for which recipes exist dating to the 17th century.

It has a significant buttery flavor,
...probably because it IS butter. XD
Lol
I just can't get into the idea of literally eating fried butter. It just is too much.

mdom 06-26-2018 05:34 PM

hm, yeah fried coke I think I'd try xDDD

XoGizmooX 06-26-2018 05:36 PM

I actually tried the coke

Witchchylde 06-26-2018 06:10 PM

I would be interested in trying one of the variations, maybe if they do a Dr Pepper version.

Kaderin Triste 06-26-2018 06:13 PM

Yeah, I'm not a big fan of Coke. But I'd try other soda variations probably. Just for the novelty of it.

XoGizmooX 06-26-2018 06:18 PM

I support coke since the coke lid promotions litterly bought my tablet and all my AMC freebies ......but my fav is Mountain Dew

Kaderin Triste 06-26-2018 06:23 PM

I like some Coke products, but not Coke, itself. But in reality, I'm more into coffee and herbal teas than soda.

Witchchylde 06-26-2018 06:27 PM

I prefer what used to be Pepsi Max and is now called Pepsi 0. It still has ginseng in it, which is what I like about it.

mdom 06-26-2018 06:30 PM

I usually drink sugarfree soda xD I like the gas but usually sodas have so much sugar D:

Kaderin Triste 06-26-2018 06:31 PM

Eewwww.....diet sodas always taste off to me.
XD

mdom 06-26-2018 06:33 PM

haha I'm used to it now!
There's a brand here that I like, I only buy that one if I can.

Kaderin Triste 06-26-2018 06:38 PM

*sips an unsweetened iced berry herbal tea*
Mmmmm....refreshing.
XD

Witchchylde 06-26-2018 06:40 PM

Pepsi 0 is sugar free, and not with that disgusting sucralose aka Splenda either. My body treats that like actual sugar and as a diabetic, that doesn't work for me.

mdom 06-26-2018 06:41 PM

iced tea is great <333
it's almost never cold enough here for hot teas xDDD

I can see how that would be a problem. Yikes.

Mdom: I feel like a weirdo because I will drink hot coffee year-round, but will only do hot tea in the fall and winter when it's cold.
But we have a tea shop nearby with some great herbal teas for doing cold brew. My favorites so far are the Lime Gelato and the Montana Cherry Berry blends.

mdom 06-26-2018 06:56 PM

I've tried many berry kinds, but lime... I'd try that one

ehehe coffee is kind of an addiction I think. My parents drink every day like clockwork.

Witchchylde 06-26-2018 07:05 PM

Montana Cherry berry blend sounds incredible! I do love Zenia's Gypsy Rose tea. Black tea and rose petals. just lovely.

mdom 06-26-2018 08:30 PM

hmmm rose petals
once I had italian soda that was rose flavored

Kaderin Triste 06-26-2018 08:32 PM

Rose is definitely an iffy flavor for me. Too strong and it's just very...soapy kind of? Just too much.
I've discovered that while I'm not a fan of lavender scent, I do like lavender flavor though.

mdom 06-26-2018 09:21 PM

oooh I never had lavender flavor
is it like rose?

Kaderin Triste 06-26-2018 09:24 PM

Yes and no? It is a distinctly floral flavor, but not the same as rose, although if it's too strong it also can get a bit soapy in flavor. A few times, one of the coffee places used it in macarons, and I get white chocolate lavender lattes pretty regularly at another place.

here for the snaccs
