A E I O U

This game is a series of five trivia questions according to the chosen theme, with points awarded for correctness, quickness, and thoroughness. Each question is closed after first five people have submitted guesses, or one hour after at least two people have guessed. Everyone who was correct gets ten berries. The first person to guess correctly gets an additional twenty berries. The first point to guess correctly and most thoroughly gets an additional thirty berries.

Here's how it works:

A theme is chosen. For example's sake, let's say the topic is 'Beverages'. The first question posed is: 'This soda has a gum named after it.'
The first person guesses 'Big Red'.
The second person guesses 'Jolt'.
The third person did a google search and went with 'Marukawa Bubble Gum'.

The first person is actually wrong. While there is a Big Red soda, it came after the gum, so the gum couldn't be named after it. They don't get any points. The second person is correct. Jolt is a soda, and it had a gum named after it. The third person is not correct. While Marukawa does have a Pepsi bubble gum flavor, it's not the name of the gum itself. So the second person gets berriess for all three categories, being the only one to qualify for anything in the first place.

But it doesn't end there. At any point during the event, any of the first five guessers (or however many qualified; for this example, three) may challenge my results. We'll say the third guesser objects, because the soda is called Jolt Cola and the gum is called Jolt Energy Gum. While I didn't really consider this a game-changer, the third guesser persuasively points out that this isn't that much different than Pepsi-flavored gum under a different brand. After some contemplation, I agree, and award them ten berries, which is what they would have had if I had judged them to be correct from the start.

Please note: I will never take away berries, even if it turns out later I judged incorrectly, but I may award additional berries to those who would have been considered the actual winners. This could result in a tie-breaker at the end of the game, addressed below.

And Sometimes Y:

At the end of each game, the person with the most berries wins double what they have. Due to how the game is played, ties can most certainly occur. In this case, I will pose a scavenger hunt. The person who finds the best picture to encapsulate the theme of that particular game will win the double bonus. You may submit it privately, but I will show all pictures when I make a decision. Please keep the Trisphee ToS in mind when hunting images.

Extra Credit:

If you participated in the game for any of the questions, and think you can come up with a picture that encapsulates the theme, you can still win double what you actually made for that particular game--provided you can get at least one other guesser to try and find one, as well. This will last until the end of the event, so don't worry about running out of time. In the case of a tie-breaker, while you won't stop them from getting double berries, you still have to beat their submissions to get double berries as well.

i'll try my hand at some trivia!

Obsidian 04-27-2018 01:00 AM

Oh, snap... I suck at trivia but sure, I'll give it a try.

Den 04-27-2018 01:02 AM

I'll bite, too.

bluebird 04-27-2018 04:01 AM

Advanced games right here, sign me up. It sounds interesting!

Death by Mirrors 04-27-2018 09:02 AM

I'll have a try as well.

Den 04-27-2018 11:20 PM

*pokes the Lee*

dragoness129 04-29-2018 10:12 AM

Eager to see what the question shall be!

Death by Mirrors 04-29-2018 01:54 PM

The question is "when will Lee return?", obviously. :s-glasses:

Den 04-29-2018 07:49 PM

No kidding. *back to poking*

Death by Mirrors 04-30-2018 05:34 AM

I hope Lee is alright though. Anyone know what happened?

Lee 04-30-2018 10:22 AM

I APOLOGIZE PROFUSELY

I lost track of time, but I'm here now and I shall post the first question and the participants shortly!

dragoness129 04-30-2018 02:36 PM

Welcome back, Lee! -hugs-
I'm not on the participants list?

Lee 04-30-2018 07:30 PM

I wasn't sure if you wanted to play! I'll add you right now. Thank you for the warm welcome!

Lee 04-30-2018 07:34 PM

As a friendly reminder, only the first five guesses will be accepted for each question! However, even if you miss your window, you will still count as participants for all other aspects of the question, including the Extra Credit portion.

Den 04-30-2018 07:52 PM

Answer to the question: Kate Bishop.

Lee 04-30-2018 07:59 PM

The timer will start for one hour after then next person guesses! I'll go ahead and put yours up on the front page.

He is also portrayed by Jeremy Renner in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

(Just covering all the bases).

Are people allowed to participate if they didn't specifically mention before the question is posted?

As long as it's before the cutoff for the final question! Participation is by theme, not per quesion. I'm afraid you missed the cutoff for this question by a few minutes, regardless, but I can put you down as a participant if you would like to try for the next one.

Lee 05-01-2018 02:15 AM

The results for question one are in! While I'm pleased with your level of additional information about the subject matter in general, dragoness129, I feel I was fairly specific about wanting to know what other characters have used the mantle of Hawkeye. As such, I have given both you and Den equal points for thoroughness.

Lee 05-01-2018 02:23 AM

Second question has been posted.

Death by Mirrors 05-01-2018 05:47 AM

Robin: Damian Wayne, son of Bruce Wayne and Talia Al-Ghul, raised by his mother for the first 10 years. He is chosen as Robin by the former Robin/Nightwing Dick Grayson when Grayson assumes the identity of Batman, and later fights alongside his biological father.

Huntress: Helena Wayne, an alternate universe daughter of Bruce Wayne and Catwoman Selina Kyle. She has been Robin to alternate universe Bruce Wayne before coming to original earth.

Lee 05-01-2018 08:45 AM

The timer will start for one hour after the next user posts an answer! I go by the time stated in the lower left corner, for those curious.

Lee 05-04-2018 02:16 PM

Come, my ducklings, don't leave me hanging!

mdom 05-04-2018 06:05 PM

In Earth Two, Helena Wayne is Huntress, the daughter of Batman and Catwoman and is Robin post Flashpoint on her earth.

In New and Prime Earth, Damian Wayne, son of Batman and Talia Al Ghul is the latest Robin.

Lee 05-04-2018 06:42 PM

Alright, the game is back on track! Keep it coming, there's still time!

Lee 05-04-2018 07:52 PM

It took some consideration, to be sure, but I ultimately decided the thoroughness bonus should go to to mdom. While there was an excellent amount of solid information in your answer, Death by Mirrors, I ultimately felt the extra information mdom provided aligned more to the question. As always, feel free to explain your choices! I may have missed something, or misinterpreted what you intended.

Lee 05-04-2018 07:58 PM

Next question up!

Death by Mirrors 05-04-2018 08:34 PM

Ugh, let me see how many I can remember... Dick Grayson, Jason Todd, Tim Drake, Carrie Kelley, Stephanie Brown, Damian Wayne and Helena Wayne. I think Bruce Wayne himself once, but that's probably not what you're looking for. So I'll vote seven, even though I'm fairly certain I forgot at least one. That's your chance to step forward and fill in the blanks, guys!

Obsidian 05-07-2018 05:40 PM

Haven't exactly been a big Robin fan, but I'll toss out a random number and say 5.

Lee 05-08-2018 02:53 AM

For my original intentions, Obsidian was correct. However, I realize my wording of the question was vague enough that Death by Mirrors'answer could be rationalized, as well.

For those curious, I meant currently, which would be Damian Wayne and the four 'graduates' from the We Are Robin story. I didn't take alternate universes or Robins that moved on to other names into account. I also don't count Red Robin (Timothy Drake) as a Robin solely because he has stated he chose that name so he wouldn't be considered a Robin.

Lee 05-08-2018 02:56 AM

Next question up!

Obsidian 05-08-2018 01:53 PM

Sweet. I knew there was a reason my OCD sticks me to even and multiple of 5 numbers.

Next question.... Good one.
Well, Deadpool would have died without his. But then again he's an anti-hero....
Ok, you have me on this one, lol.

I know a few who could die but not would die. Hrm...
Iron Man
Cyborg

Eh... let's go with Spiderman because had that spider not been a mutation, he probably would have died.

I can't think of anyone else. >->
3 guesses ok? X]

Serra Britt 05-08-2018 02:45 PM

Wolverine - No way could his body not reject his skeleton without the healing factor.

Daredevil - Hard to call this a certainty, but if he suddenly lost his ability to "see", I'm sure he would die quickly.

Aquaman - But only if he was underwater at the time he lost them.

Flash - In the middle of running and his power stops, that would probably result in several broken bones leading to death.

The Thing - If the rocky skin didn't immediately go away with the rest of his powers, he'd be crushed.

Except for Wolverine, these are all pretty conditional deaths though >_>

Lee 05-08-2018 03:15 PM

Just a bit longer until I call the time! One hour after Serra Britt's post.

Lee 05-08-2018 05:37 PM

As neither of you could come up with five, I'm afraid no one got any points for the question itself. However, you both got five points for trying!

mdom 05-08-2018 08:05 PM

S.W.O.R.D. (Sentient World Observation and Response Department), is the intelligence and counter-terrorism agency responsible for protecting the Earth from extraterrestrial threats (its HQ is even in space).

I think both of us would be interested to know what 5 (or more) you were thinking of Lee XD

As for the new question, unfortunately as I am not really familiar with SWORD, I don't have anything to add to mdom's answer.
