Where do you live?
Is there a thread like this? I was wondering where everyone lives.:p-smile: I live in Canada, Quebec. Been living here since I was little but I'd like to move to another province eventually then maybe out of the country. |
I was born in a fancy dancy snooty neighborhood called Ballsbridge in Dublin, Ireland. I lived there with my Uncle, Aunt, 2 cousins, Da, Mammy and twin until I was 4 then we emmigrated overseas to America and lived in Boston, Massachusetts for a year. Then we moved to Ohio where I still am.
I've lived in New York City since I was a little less than 5 years old. Before that I lived someplace in China (I never learned of where exactly it was). Although, I was born in Vancouver, Canada and lived there from 0 months to 11 months old.
I live in the VERY VERY corner of the continental Us. like 20 miles from the pacific ocean and 20 miles from the canadian border.
Pnw Washington =3 It's so pretty out here, Mt. Baker is my favorite! http://www.camera-crafts.com/MtBaker&Lake-4298.jpg <3 I may as well live off a postcard XD Also WE HAVE ORCA WHALES!<3 https://www.visitsanjuans.com/sites/...ker_spyhop.jpg |
SparX: Thats pretty but I still think Ireland is the most gorgeous place on earth. Its like its straight from a fantasy storybook.

You got the castles, so yes that does make it fairytale worthy.
But I am jut a forested wonderland for the most part XD https://60before60.files.wordpress.c...tcom-falls.jpg https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/i...nrXVETKjmwBHqX https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com...4504672908.jpg http://earthnworld.com/wp-content/up...2015/10/10.jpg |
I'm in Boise Idaho. Wooo.
SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH You live in my heart. So technically you are here ;D
We have forests but not as thick as the pnw does. We have a lot of other cool things. Have you seen those adorable traditional Irish homes with a thatched roof? I rented one last summer for a few nights when I went back. It was cozy. I guess I will always favor my homeland. No matter how long I have been a US citizen, I will always consider myself Irish first and will always desire to be there again. I get homesick still.

Thatched roofs are so cool =O
Somebody in the next town over redid their whole roof to be thatched and it looks kinda odd tbh .-. They took a modern 500k house and threw a thatched roof on it 0.o |
I'm in Florida. We have....swamps, and sand, and Mickey Mouse. lol
We just have potatoes . . . and I guess we're also the beans and lentil capital of the world so.
http://www.thebestpageintheuniverse....?u=idaho_blows Maddox even wrote about how awful it is here XD Although I mean really, its ok. Like a perfect place to live if you are a homebody that plays video games and watches anime like me >3> |
Toho: you get my favorites, crocodilians! Crocs, gators, caimans and gharials are so cute! <3
True! We do have gators. Last time I saw one I was walking home from work (I don't normally walk). Looked over the side of a little bridge I cross every day, saw a gator lazily cruising along. "Hey cool," I said...then kept walking. :P
Got a lot of "oh shit! really?" type reactions in telling people about it. I just thought it was neat. Heh. |
Los Angeles, here. Used to work in Hollywood at a recording studio, actually.
I live in Iowa. I've lived in Nebraska, Kansas, and Missouri for brief periods... but I mainly seem to stick to the Midwest. Which kinda sucks because it's frickin' expensive to go anywhere.
I grew up in Kansas, and I lived in Oklahoma for college and lived in Arkansas for a while after I grew up and got married. Moving from Arkansas to California was CRAZY. >_< 2200 miles! Super expensive.
I live specifically in Montreal, I often go to a known spot to watch the sunrise over the city.. got some nice shots. Since everyone's sharing; I'm surrounded by a lot of city, lots of buildings. There's some spots, like Mount Royal, where there's forests but you can see the city and it's pretty cool! All the photos above are from my visits to Mount Royal. You guys can check out some of my other photos here. ^^ |
SINCE WE'RE ALL POSTING PHOTOS here are some taken from the Google.
Sure, we can play that game.
Nice! All of this is making me want to travel more. |

I live in Great Falls, Montana.
It's not the best place in the world, but there are lots of mountains not too far away and we do have the River's Edge Trail, which is mostly pretty nice and I can ride my bike on it all the way down to Giant Springs park...and that place is fairly pretty, though not terribly large. |

Oh wow, large reptiles exist among civilization :o. When I think of alligators (or is that a crocodile?), I think of stories like Peter Pan xD.
Toho: omg! I didnt know they got so close to people's houses and stuff. Oh he's gorgeous! <3
Potironette: Thats an alligator. Crocodiles tend to have slimmer snouts while alligators have broader snouts. There is an American Crocodile in the south to, so theres not just gators there. Ahaha I liked that alligator in peter pan that swallowed the clock. |
:) I think he said that was by where he fishes, and knowing the area, there were swamps nearby, but yes. If it's close to water, they certainly will get that close.
There's a good reason people with small dogs are told to not leave them outside alone. :P |
I live in my house! :D Ok ok, I live in California. :D
I am from Lake Worth, FL (South Florida -- Palm Beach County), but currently live in Gainesville, FL (North Florida -- Alachua County).
"Currently"? So you go to UF, then? :P
Toho: Wow neat! As much as I adore them, I wouldnt like them being so close to my house. (Is an overprotective daddy)
It's not usually bad, and when there's a gator right where people are, they call out animal control, and they wrangle it up to put it somewhere less peopleful.
Toho: Animal control in your state has guts, wrangling gators. They can be very strong.
Indeed.
The key is to wrap something around their mouth...then they can't bite you. It's super easy to keep their mouth closed, but a bitch to get it open. |
I live in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. I was born here. Beautiful, scenic, and clean. But man, I could really do without the winters here.
Toho: Yeah, their jaws are powerful but they cant chew, so they adapted to being able to hold prey bigger than themselves tightly and rolling in the water to rip off chunks to eat (aka the death roll). But I mean, it still takes guts to try and wrap a gator's mouth shut. A wrong move and you could be in a lot of pain.
