So in episodes 6 and 7 we met Chris... o3o

When he skates, he gets really turned on to the point of 'coming'. something he himself 'thinks' *cause he's not actually talking but you hear his inner thoughts as he skates* as his skating program ends. "Ah! I'm coming again!"

>-> the way he keeps barbing at yuri about having 'stolen' victor from the ice to make him his coach, he seems more of a villain that Russian Yuri (aka Yurio) Is Yurio the real rival or will it turn out to be chris?

I like Yurio better as Yuri's Rink mate. In episodes 2-3, the way the two acted towards one another was adorable.

In episode 3-4 we met Minami, the young boy who beat Yuri (while he was spiraling in self destruction) in the nationals the season before. I like him, in a way I see him as someone who helped Yuri Grow. When Yuri saw the outfit Minami had made that was modeled after one of Yuri's old costumes, he called it an outfit from his "dark days". Minami threw a fit and said that was insulting him for being Yuri's fan, that there were no dark days for Yuri in a fans mind.

Yuri tried to avoid Minami, giving him a cold shoulder, and Victor scolded him for that. "How can someone who cannot motivate others, motivate himself" after that Yuri sent a bount of cheer towards Minami, which cheered the boy up. And I think after that, it helped Yuri as well.

Watching Minami fawn over Yuri was a highlight of the episodes. Nice to see that Yuri himself have fans that aren't related to him. Fans that were inspired to skate because of Yuri. Just that alone seems to have given him a tiny bit of confidence.

Is this a canon pairing? Or is this still a Fujoshi wet dream?

In episode seven, something happened to make the YoI world explode! Was it a kiss on the lips? A kiss on the cheek? Or was it just a hug?

The creator hasn't said 'out right' that it was a kiss. She mearly states 'something is in sync with this other show that aired the same day' and that show apparently had its first kiss in it so BL fans are taking that to mean that Victor kissed Yuri.

Later the creator also said something that they wanted a relationship that didn't care about 'gender' "Gender is meaningless to me".

Yuri's voice actor said that they were barely passing network censors.

The comments made by the director and voice actor made the victuri fans squeal in happiness while BL haters refuse to believe anything shown to them. Others who actually hope that the couple is a canon, they are trying not to get their hopes up because it might turn out to be just a tease.



We won't know much about the relationship until we see episode 8. Will ep 8 confirm the kiss? Will it confirm any type of relationship? The preview of ep 8 showed Yuri acting dominant and pulling on Victor's tie.

Funimation is about 3 episodes behind the simulcasting. But even so, its worth to keep up with.

I judge dubbing like this:

Yuri on Ice: Acting I gave it 8/10. there were times where someone would sound 'fake'. Not sound natural. But otherwise. Minami was at first, hard to get into. But as the show went on, minami started to sound more like a real person and less of a read script.

Yuri's voice actor reminds me of Haruhi from Host club. By the way the two voice actors brought their characters to life, the similar pronounciations. The similar way of exclaiming and yelling. It made me smile. At first I didn't see the voice as 'Yuri' the voice was a tad bit 'gruffer' than the japanese voice. But the way the actor brought Yuri to life, made the voice perfect for Yuri. (its gonna make it interesting when I go to watch Drifters in english. soft Yuri vs warrior Toyohisa.. x3 that will be interesting)

Jerry Jewel, I've known him to do a scottish like accent on Jin in Yu Yu Hakusho. He does a very nice Russian accent immitation and makes Victor sound adorable. I'm not use to hearing 'russian accents' at all.. here and there on law and order but in an anime? .. It was awesome! =)

Minako, the ballet teacher in Yuri's home town and one of his main supporters, her english voice actress aggrivated me a bit at first but it matched the character so well.

Yuri's old Rink mate, who is from bangkok.. had no accent what so ever, so i was disappointed. and Yuri's old coach at first sounded terrible but got better in later episodes.

The Script is more dead on, than CR's Subtitles. It's because of CR's subtitles that people keep saying "Victor had a girl friend!"

Victor was using the term "Koibito" which means lover. Where Karashi = Boyfirend, and Imakono = current girlfriend and Karekano = previous girlfriend.

Victor was asking if Yuri had "lovers" but due to the CR subtitles people read it as "Did you have girlfriends?" and its this here that is helping people fight against the plausible love forming between Yuri and Victor. (even if they had Gfs in the past doesn't mean they can't fall in love now D:< Geeze)

I give the script 10/10 for the english version. From correcting what CR messed up on, to keeping things as close as possible nearly 100% exact, the english script is perfect.

10/10 on pronunciations of names. I've heard a few mess ups but they were barely noticeable.

Now lets see how Funi deals with Chris and Greogi... I can't wait to see Greogi x3 and chris.. he creeps me out so I'm not really looking forward to that.. i'll be mad if the english version doesn't give me that weirded out feeling. o3o

New characters:
JJ - he needs to be shot >-> He made a song ABOUT himself, Sings it himself then skates to it. And its not like Yuri's song where he asked for a composition of his life as a skater thus far. But not a song about how 'awesome' he is.

Michele & Sara - Michele is one of those types that has a sister complex, except his thoughts seem to border incest.. Sara wants her brother to learn to live a life with out her so apparently she doesn't see things the way he does.

There was one other that seemed cold and he calculates his jump and performance points while skating.

the others didn't stand out much to me.


Episode 8:

Yuri takes the initiative in this one and pulls victor close to him. They talk quietly to each other before Yuri performs. After Yuri's performance, Victor kisses Yuri's skate. They are acting like a newly wed couple in this episode, but those two points are basically all we really get to see of the 2 until the end when Yuri gets a call from his mother. Makkachin stole meatbuns and is choking on them. Yuri tells Victor to hurry back to Japan. Victor asks his old coach Yakov to be Yuri's coach for a day while he runs back to Japan.

Will Makkachin live? How will Yuri do with out Victor? How will Yakov be with Yuri? Will Yakov see that victor isn't just selfishly 'playing' coach and is actually doing a really good job at it?
