favorite egg dishes?

forget raising the lil' fuckers, how about eating them? what is your favorite egg-dish? it can be any egg in any way as long as eggs are a primary part and cannot be subbed(sodabread and the like seriously dont count)

Tohopekaliga 04-13-2016 11:36 PM

I am always a fan of a nice, simple omelette.

Or not so simple. Toss in some onions, some bacon, maybe some other stuff, a bit of cheese. Oh yes.

Gallagher 04-13-2016 11:37 PM

I really like deviled eggs, it's a holiday favorite in my household. I'm really good at making egg salad, though. I only ever make it in bulk, so it takes about 2 hours all together.

Potironette 04-13-2016 11:37 PM

Hard-boiled eggs, plain and simple!

The last time I made any they all turned out half-boiled though... (runny yolks, all of them).

littl3chocobo 04-13-2016 11:38 PM

mmmmm~ i actually like soft-boiled eggs so runny yolks is not a deterrent XD

Den 04-13-2016 11:44 PM

I like making omelets, cheesy scrambled eggs, hard boiled eggs, eggs over easy, soft boiled eggs, deviled eggs, egg salad, preserved egg yolks, and tea eggs... I want to find a place that makes iron eggs so I can try 'em...

Oh! I also like preserved duck eggs. Even if they look really gross once you cut 'em open. :3

Rainbowfox Ari 04-13-2016 11:46 PM

I can't eat eggs anymore - but I DID like omelettes.

littl3chocobo 04-13-2016 11:49 PM

what are iron eggs? also, ari; that battery??

Tohopekaliga 04-13-2016 11:50 PM

The battery's part of the big lampcat pose. :)

littl3chocobo 04-13-2016 11:56 PM

oooooh, thankyou toho<3

Glitch 04-14-2016 12:04 AM

sunny side up eggs are my favorite

Tam I am 04-14-2016 12:13 AM

I can't eat eggs anymore, but my favourite used to be soft fried or soft boiled eggs with firm whites and runny yolks. I'd make guthash out of them, add a little butter, and then use 'em for spread on pancakes or toast (which I also can't have anymore...).

I also like scrambled duck eggs with low fat mozza, which actually has more flavour than the full fat mozza.

Iron eggs are a Taiwanese food, made by repeatedly cooking eggs in tea or soy sauce.

Tam I am 04-14-2016 12:28 AM

*thinks of eggs cooked in gyusa* *drools*

littl3chocobo 04-14-2016 12:37 AM

ok, i want eggs now 'T'

Tam I am 04-14-2016 12:39 AM

Quail eggs hardboiled and floating in soup are lovely. So is egg drop soup.

littl3chocobo 04-14-2016 12:40 AM

grilled quail eggs are pretty damn boss too XD on a skewer with just a little char~

Tam I am 04-14-2016 12:45 AM

Oooo. I bet. Especially if you're using special wood, or have some meat grease left on the grill.

littl3chocobo 04-14-2016 12:47 AM

like kebobs XD wth sausage and corn and tomatoes

Tam I am 04-14-2016 12:51 AM

You can keep those parts. XD I'll have the eggs. Maybe with some cucumber chunks.

SparX 04-14-2016 12:54 AM

I like hard boiled quail eggs, right out of the can, or if I can get 'em, cooked fresh. the canned ones gross my mom out, because she thinks they're icky. But I'm the weirdo of my family, and I'll try most anything at least once.

First image that came up.

Tam I am 04-14-2016 01:24 AM

Does eggnog count as an egg dish?

littl3chocobo 04-14-2016 01:24 AM

littl3chocobo 04-14-2016 01:25 AM

can you make eggnog without eggs in it?

Tam I am 04-14-2016 01:27 AM

There's eggless nog. It's not as nice. I like mine without rum.

I put pickles in mine and pickle juice in the mix =P
preferable whole wheat or nine grain, but if my mom makes it it's with white bread XD

littl3chocobo 04-14-2016 01:32 AM

oh, well if you can make the dish and it is the same dish without the egg then it does not count(though isn't eggnog something that can only be made with egg??)

SparX 04-14-2016 01:33 AM

I make my homemade eggnog with egg, cooked over extremely low heat and stirred enough it doesn't clump....
it's a huge process for me since I don't lie it but the hubby does.
I also enjoy poached eggs with seasoning salt

It is not the same without the egg. Eggless nog is thin and bleh. LOL

Also, have you ever tried it with two slices of meat, instead of bread? Or with pancakes?

And now I'm distracted by wanting to go eat pink salt. XD

SparX 04-14-2016 01:41 AM

I remember reading someone talking about Himalayan pink salt during the valentines event and I saw some at bed and bath beyond whatever a month ago and it reminded me of that XD

Tam I am 04-14-2016 01:46 AM

XD That may have been me or Den. We both like the taste of it. I just finally got to buy a whole package of my own.

littl3chocobo 04-14-2016 01:47 AM

eggnog, i did not expect a no-egg version

SparX 04-14-2016 01:47 AM

I feel like it was probably both of you at the same time XD

littl3chocobo 04-14-2016 01:51 AM
