What ho? It's Cat Paws!

Hi everyone! It's Quiet Man Cometh this time, figuring things out around here since two of our people have since left. Please bear with me through all of this. I'm not sure I can manage things as well as DK did but here's hoping the charity will continue in at least some measure.

That said, here's the usual charity chat thread for the event, even if it is a bit late, and poor Cat Paws has been out of the loop for so long, she has no lantern lights! To help her out, for every 10 lights you donate, earn 100 paw print points, or 10 points per lantern. Donations of event items graciously accepted as well. If you've send in a charity form an I haven't gotten around to putting it up in the social group yet, worry not! Your points will be kept track of and will be added when the form is made.

So don't be shy now, come and say hi!

Hello. How have you been?

I have been having overtime at the cookie factory where I work.

That's a curious place to work. Like, assembly line stuff or baking? Overtime gets you extra money though, and that's always good.

Yup. It is assembly line baking. The cookies come down the line out of the tunnel oven and I am one of the ones who pick them up. Then there is another line where the people on that belt pack the cookies we picked up.

Currently we are making small packs of leaf shaped cookies that are sandwiched together with chocolate. I was one of the people who put the tops on the cookies. Other people at the end of the belt on the other side of the cooler tunnel pick them up and pack them in small boxes.

So do you come home smelling like cookies?

Quiet used to work in a coffee shop and came home smelling like...bread, of all things. Comes from working next to the oven I guess.

I do sometimes notice my clothes the next day do smell a bit like industrial cookie. It smells of all shortening and flour and sugar. No butter eggs or milk are used in these cookies to make them last longer.

Oh! Since this is a charity, can someone help me with getting a set of items from the event? I will have to buy them since I don't think I will be able to earn them in the time that is left for the event.

I only have one of the items and I can't seem to make lanterns quickly enough, but you're free to have what I make once I get the other item I'm wanting. I'm about 5 away right now.

I am about seven lanterns away from my second item.

Those lanterns are tricky.

It's a lot easier to earn the lanterns if you take part in the (almost daily) event contest thingers.

I can donate a lantern or two...

I've so far gotten the bulk of my lanterns from posting and lurking. I'm working on getting some stuff for Cat Paws so we have some items from this event to give out.

I've been having bad luck with the contests so far. This event, it does not like me!

I just have busy days, so I can't get them as fast as I want too.

Feel free to join the charity if you like, Hiei. You earn points through posting and little games and such, and you can trade those points for items. You don't have to join to chat in the charity threads of course.

I have been at overtime at work. I rarely try at contests or games since I do so badly at them v.v

Well the poetry contest is a random winner, if you like to play around with words. You just need to write a poem to enter and that's it!

I can see about writing a haiku on Sunday.

No, the Nox contests in general. Today is the last day for entries. There is a theme scheme for the event though, within this thread or your social group page, as well as paw prints for any donated lanterns as far as Cat Paws stuff goes.
