I didn't think I'd actually win to be honest, seeing as I'm actually pretty rusty ^^;. I'm very happy I did win though :D. May I submit another poem for "round 2" :3 ? Also, how many people did enter the contest? If you don't mind me asking ^^;. @Quiet Man Cometh: I send my poem via PM to Virgil Marks :3. I think you can post them in the thread as well but if people will post a lot it could potentially get lost in all the posts. |
Yeah, you can do either, it just depends on if you want yours seen or not.
And you can enter every round! There were only a couple, but hopefully we'll get more as y'all see there are actually winners here xD |
I'd like to do this but I think I burnt myself out on writing lately, with all the work I've been putting into my NaNo projects. I can normally write a poem fairly easily but it feels like so much effort right now!

A mane of hair all down my spine,
A nose long and toothy, In the night it walks, With a prideful demeanor, Leap and overtaking it encircles its prey, With a mighty snap of the jaws, Rend and tear with teeth so sharp, The victim, life pouring, Stares at its prison vest, It signs and kicking it fades, The king of the hunt now feeds. |
Guiding lanterns, spirit bright,
Souls at helm by candle light. |
strange my usual black garments strike a stark contrast against the blazing colors of fall a thing i'm used to but they eerily fit too well this time around trembling i take a deep breath and lift the flute up to my parched lips a wavering note and then another a haunting melody soon floats out through the dancing leaves music i weave my life into harmonies the critters keep my company while the men look on i forget the noose and ignore the floor that suddenly disappears beneath my feet |
