What scares me the most of all is delivering the finished piece. It was pretty traumatizing when I finished this piece I really liked how it turned out, but the guy never said anything but 'thanks'. That was it. I never saw him or the piece back again. I freaked out D:
It's soooo scary, you never know if they'd say 'no' to it! D:

Logan!! *hugs* morning!

and, same here Silvy!! I secretly enjoy when someone is pleased with the work I do for them and over-exaggerate their reaction. Like, "OMG I LOOOVE ITTTTT!!!!!!" It just let's me know I did good. =]

If I get a simple thank you only and no feedback, I'd die a little inside D=

I've never had anyone ever outright tell me they hate it tho... I hope that never happens.

.....Maybe I should put a rule that you can't tell me you hate my art for the sake of my psyche =[

Azrael 02-25-2011 11:14 AM

I don't think anyone would do that. >3<' It's just rude for one thing... and for two, they ordered from you cause they liked your art in the first place.

Silverbleed 02-25-2011 11:26 AM

Well, I did have a customer once that ordered art and after 6 days he started whining. He said he was waiting for 3 months, I was a slow b*tch and didn't appreciate my customers. Thank god I got this PM saved saying it was only 6 days ago he PM'd his order. When he made me black in public, in my own shop, I canceled the order and PM'd a mod. They gave him a punishment and warning for harassment and flaming in public...
I got hurt badly tho. Why was he doing so rude to me?

Well, once I had a guy telling me I forgot a lot of stuff, she didn't look right in her face (the wrong emotion) and he wanted some stuff in the clothing added. That was painful D: Especially because it's hard to add things when it's all done. But he never said anything when I send the sketch or lineart.

Yes, if someone goes like 'omgggg I looooove it i love it' it really makes me day. Or even better, my week. It feels so good to make someone happy. Sometimes I even need to hear it, like when I've had a bad week.

I have such a fear of those things that I rarely take commissions. xD; That shop I have is an extreme exception. |D

Duchess 02-25-2011 11:48 AM

@Taiki: The only reason you even agreed to do the shop is cause the style you're selling is super easy ~ =P

@Silver: Ouch! That first scenario is ridiculous...Maybe he just wanted to troll... idk.. Artists aren't miracle machines.

and I don't understand why people would wait so late in the game to ask for adjustments. When doing OCs and stuff, I always send a sketch for feedback first... If someone did that to me, I'd probably yell at them... I have some sort of a short temper >.<'''

If not at them... i'd take it out on my boyfriend...

@Azzy: That's what I usually bank on when doing commissions... that they are ordering because they are interested...and they are paying for my time spent on it as well as the final product *nods*

Silverbleed 02-25-2011 11:57 AM

Hm ok. I wanna go and sketch for my comic. But where the f do I start xD

Duchess 02-25-2011 12:00 PM

Just start at the very beginning! It's a very good place to start *grins*

Unless you're like me and that mean getting only one page done >>

Silverbleed 02-25-2011 12:02 PM

No I actually meant as in... well I'm gonna do those 3-4 frame comics. I'm not skilled enough for big ones yet. I think I'll just draw some frames of places it'll happen at. Like the couch when we're gaming 8) Uhh what else shall I do...

Taiki 02-25-2011 12:06 PM

Silver is gunna draw a comic? *u*

It's always good to draw the backgrounds first. xD I don't, but one of my favorite webcomic artists always says it's a good idea. >o> I would try it if I was any decent at drawing backgrounds. And, if you want to really get into it, you could sketch each panel from multiple angles to see which one looks best. xDDDD

Silverbleed 02-25-2011 12:09 PM

I'm HORRIBLE at backgrounds. But that shouldn't scare me away. I mean, I guess I did good with my last one I tried -points at sig-

Duchess 02-25-2011 12:13 PM

Yes you did! That one turned out good =]

I'm background illiterate... but I'm comic illiterate as well...

I've start 4 comic... all only have 1 page each OTL *is a failure*

Silverbleed 02-25-2011 12:16 PM

Lol at least you tried. I never bothered to start.

I want to create a pet for me too <3 What would be nice? It doesn't have to excist irl.

Taiki 02-25-2011 12:16 PM

At least you get them started Duchess. I probably have like 20 storylines written but I've only ever started like 4 comics. |D I wish I had more time to actually draw my comics...

Duchess 02-25-2011 12:19 PM

A kitten-bunny mutant thing x3

I want me one of those xDDD

It's the curse of a creative artist. Too much ideas than we can actually work with @.@

Taiki 02-25-2011 12:22 PM

A Fox-squirrel like the one in the movie Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind. *u* IT'S SO CUTE.
