Kale was silent, for the first time it was hard to tell what he was thinking. He stared at Blaze for a very long time before slowly nodding, "Alright... I trust you," he replied quietly, "Don't get hurt though," he added, "It sucks." The moping face came out again.
Blaze didn't react for a long time. But then she slowly smiled a little.
Kale smiled back, "I miss you," he added, "No one gives me sugar when you're gone." There was a bit of tease in his voice.
"... I miss you too," she replied.
Kale seemed to like that, his smile grew a bit. "Well, I suppose I can tolerate Nic until you get back," he decided, "Hopefully that'll be tomorrow."
"... Does he smell or something?" Blaze asked, still unsure of why Kale was complaining so much about him.
"I just don't like him; I think he's a real log for the way he keeps treating Laurel. I don't know how bad his past is but it shouldn't be an excuse," Kale replied angrily. Really angry for the first time around Blaze.
"He doesn't know how-" Blaze started, but then caught herself, not wanting to argue with Kale. "Well, he's out like a log right now, so save your complaints until he wakes up - maybe he'll learn something if we're lucky."
"He better," Kale snorted, "If Laurel wouldn't be so unnaturally forgiving, this would never work out."
Blaze nodded, not thinking about debating that.
Kale sighed a little, "Anyway, just come back soon before I crawl my way over to his cot and beat him up some more," he muttered.
Blaze paused a moment before nodding again.
"Then I'll let you go, for now," he said quietly.
Blaze nodded slowly one more time.
Kale nodded again, said goodbye, and ended the call.
Snow yawned as she woke up from her nap, rolling over and kneeing Raven in the head. |
Raven cussed a little as he woke up.
Snow chuckled a little, "You need to toughen up a bit," she teased.
Raven nursed his head a little. "You need to learn how to be gentle," he countered.
"Stop being such a baby," Snow retorted with a smirk.
"Stop being such a jerk," Raven countered.
"It's called tough love," Snow replied easily with a sweet smile.
"It's called abuse," Raven corrected.
Snow shook her head a little, "You're just such an easy target," she agreed sadly.
Frei huffed a little and suddenly moved in bewteen Snow and Raven. Snow blinked before her expression melted a little and she started to laugh. "I should stop worrying about you!" she declared, "It looks like you have a bodyguard after all!" |
It wasn't clear how Raven felt about that. But he messed up Frei's hair a little.
Frei still didn't like that, swatting Raven's hand a little.
Raven let her. "... So what are we going to do until it gets dark?" he asked.
Snow blinked, "Plan," she replied in a 'obviously' tone.
Raven was silent for a long moment. "... And then?" he asked.
"We go back out," Snow replied in the same tone.
"But between that and the planning," Raven explained.
Snow blinked, "Planning will take awhile. But perhaps when you're not needed you can give one of your boyfriends a call," she suggested.
"One of them?" Raven asked, confused. He frowned a little. Did anyone in his life right now even technically count as a boyfriend?
Snow rolled her eyes a little and went back to viewing the feed from her camera. "I think I need to check out this place without the drag for pretending to be tipsy," she sighed. She turned to Blaze, "You're going out tonight, correct?"
Blaze didn't reply; her mind seemed to be somewhere else.
Snow sighed a little and continued to plan for her night. "Oh, Raven, I think it would be best if you scout the same bar tonight. I won't be there with you though, so be on guard. This man might show, if he does, eavesdrop a bit." she stated holding out a tablet with a random man's face on it.
"Alright," Raven replied, studying the face a little.
After some time had passed and it was time to eat, Blaze sent Raven to grab them some food. |
Frei went to take a shower at Snow's suggestion. Then Snow looked expectantly at Blaze.
"... You're not going to like it," Blaze noted.
Snow sighed a little, "Whatever, just spit it out."
So Blaze explained her plan to Snow. She couldn't figure out a fast way to overpower or break Long's mind without causing themselves great risk. But in the end, all they needed the most right now was information about Laurel's whereabouts. So she suggested that they try to strike a deal with him.
