Wolfe cussed under his breath before turning to Snow, "Check which security lines he's cut, fix them, and report back to me." He turned to Yue, "Take me to him."
So Yue took Wolfe to James. Yue was clearly tired, but she seemed determined to convince herself she was awake.
Wolfe looked at Yue and held out his hand for the whistle.
Yue gave Wolfe the whistle.
Wolfe looked at it and blinked, "Kalma gave you this?" he clarified.
Yue paused a short moment before nodding.
Wolfe snorted a little, "She's drinking again isn't she..." he mused before blowing the whistle. Almost instantly James turned and grinned at Wolfe. A moment later he was throwing himself at Wolfe in a huge hug.
Yue took a few steps back.
Wolfe sighed and tried to detangle himself from James, "I would have had you blow it but you look physically unstable," he explained.
Yue managed to restrain herself from commenting.
Wolfe's phone started ringing from his pocket, he couldn't reach it with James clinging to him so it looked at Yue expectantly.
Yue's nose twitched a little in annoyance, but she reached in Wolfe's pocket, pulled out his phone, and answered it. "Wolfe's in a bind," she answered.
It was Snow, "Let him know that James cut the security in the lower tunnel exit that was cut first. About five hours ago. Then he cut through some minor security lines before he appeared to have been cutting through the main security lines of the glass roof itself. You stopped him before he could."
Yue did her best to repeat to Wolfe what Snow said.
Wolfe blinked, "The lower level? We were lucky then. Hardly anyone knows of that exit." he sighed a little as he turned back to James, "Now... what to do with you...?" he slowly looked back at Yue.
Yue didn't appear to be in any state to take care anyone else.
Wolfe sighed, "Alright, I'll take him then," and in one swoop, picked James up princess style and walked off easily.
Frei looked over and Wolfe and nudged Raven, "You better watch out," she informed him. |
Raven glanced over at Wolfe and James before looking back at Frei. It took him another glance over at them before he got it. "Wait, what?" Raven chuckled, splashing Frei a little.
Frei didn't smile but she splashed him back a little.
Raven took that as a smile.
"Not worried anymore?" she asked quietly.
"Worried?" Raven asked.
Frei continued to stare at Raven expectantly.
"... I always worry a little," he replied.
Frei tilted her head a little, "About Nic and Laurel?" she asked.
"Them too," Raven replied.
Frei looked at the water, "You should have read the note," she told him.
Raven didn't reply. Honestly, he didn't want to get any more involved in their relationship than he already was.
"Maybe Laurel wants to swim," Frei said calmly.
"You want to ask her?" Raven asked Frei.
Frei thought about it for a moment, "Where is she?"
Raven shrugged.
Frei paused and then looked at the water slide.
Raven rolled his eyes a little before picking Frei up, tucking her under one arm, and walking over to the water slide.
Aaron stopped a few moments to watch Raven and Frei on his way to get a snack. |
Slowly the smile came back on Frei's face.
After about an hour or so, when Frei and Raven were chilling in the hot tub, Snow came walking out to the pool. She looked visibly upset, which was rare. |
".. What's up?" Raven asked Snow as she got closer.
Snow held out a piece of paper, "Where is she?!" she demanded a bit harshly. Frei started to shake a little.
"Who?" Raven asked.
Snow gave him the note with a glare.
Raven Sorry for leaving without saying goodbye. Something came up. Laurel |
Raven stared blankly at the piece of paper. "Where was this?" he asked
