Ah, Syric works at the local jail, he always has interesting stories from it.

Thats why guards get to beat the shit out of people.

Rape is more a prison thing than a jail occurence actually.

Really thats more of movie myths, jails and prisons don't fuck around when it comes to safety protocols.

Defenseless? We are trained in defensive tactics and we carry tasers. We hold out own pretty well ;)

Tasers hurt, trust me. So does pepper spray. Trust me when I say thouggh, the guards have the upper hand, not the inmates. I've had experience in a riot and we still controlled everything

I'm fine, they just hurt a little. I just read back through some of the posts I missed. I couldn't work a 9-5 job now, I love having my off week. We work an 84 hour rotation, as do our patrol officers. Sometines its fun, other times its hell, but there's no other career id rather be in. Nothing beats the comraderie amongst police officers.

I haven't taken time yet, but I do plan on getting my degree. I started work straight out of high school, had a few things I needed to take care of

Criminal justice, as it helps me advance here. I've been training in law enforcement since I was 15, my life is blue lights and sirens.

I couldn't be a lawyeer. Well, at least not a defense attorney. Prosecuting would be fun

Oh wow, since when did you know you want exactly this and not other career and if you don't mind me asking, why did you chose it?

I got into a police explorer program when I was 15 out of sheer boredom I come from a family of firefighters, so the cop thing was an odd choice for me. The first time I rode in a patrol car I knew thaat was what I wanted to do with my life, just a gut feeling I guess. I feel this is my calling. As for why I want to do this, I'm not really sure how to answer that one. I love the adrenalin rush is the short version I guess :p

Ahahaa, I see! x3 That's cool you had a dream and also achieved it. C: It doesn't happen so very often, for one reason or another, or sometimes the job is exact opposite of what you imagined it.
I would like to be a translator one day. ^^ It's not really a dream profession, more like something that somewhat interest me and I can see my self doing. I like languages and I like working with them. Even if I am not very good at learning them. <o<; At least I don't think I am. Dx

I haven't quite reached my goals yet, but I am working on it. I'm wanting to be a patrol officer and to one day get on a SWAT team. I've trained with one before, and I've gotta say there is no better feeling than kicking a door in :D
