Solomon appeared next to Holden. He looked at Alicia, then Alicia on the bed, "Well that's very interesting." He stepped over, poking the Alicia on the bed lightly in the shoulder. With a frown, he shook his head, "Hayden knock it off alright? This isn't all that a musing." It had to be Hayden, she's the only other person around who could manipulate her appearance.
|
"Um Solomon, that isn't Hayden. Because I just felt that poke." Alicia said as she put her hand on her shoulder. "And if that was Hayden why would she have blonde hair? I changed mine to brown a few minutes ago." She said getting even more confused.
Suddenly Sean appeared, "Well I was hoping you would get that power." He said crossing his arm. "The last person to have it was Seth's and my great great, I think grandmother. Or was it our great great great grandmother?" He asked himself. "Anyway, that is Bilocation." Sean said pointing at the two Alicia's. Holden just stood there confused. |
Solomon sighed, stepped back as he crossed his arms, "You are rather obnoxious Sean. It doesn't help her to know what it's 'called' when she can't control it yet." He glanced over to Holden, "Shall we? I think dinner is almost ready~" He held out his hand for Holden to take.
|
Sean sighed, "Come Alicia B." He said pointing to the bed.
The Alicia that was on the bed walked over to Sean. "Good now, Alicia A." He said grabbing Alicia's arm and pulling her over to him. "This might hurt." He said as he threw the two together. "There, now don't go anywhere." Sean said as he disappeared. Alicia grabbed her head when Sean left. "I'm beginning to wish I asked Hayden to turn me." She said. Holden grabbed Solomon's hand with a smile, "So what do you think of my outfit?" He asked motioning to his clothes. He was wearing a navy colored button down shirt, a pair of khaki pants, and a navy colored sweater. Holden smiled and quickly laid his head on Solomon's arm. |
Solomon led him from the room and down the stairs, "You always look marvelous Holden." He kept his arm around Holden's waist, "Tomorrow, I'm going to be looking to see if I can buy my Manor back from the City...or if you'd rather stay in the States..doesn't matter to me."
'Nooowww can I gooo? Plleeaassseee?' Mystic growled, "Let me ask, jeez Melody. You're very impatient." He sat down on the couch next to her, moving some hair from her face, "You owe me a big favor for what you did to my hair you know." He chuckled opening his link with Holden, "Guess who's knocking at your door again~" 'I said sorry like, five times. Okay? Get over it, it'll grow back.' |
"I'd rather stay here in the states. But I will go back to England if you want." Holden said looking up at Solomon. "But wherever your happy I will be happy." He said with a smile. "Yes Mystic~" Holden said in a singsong tone.
|
"Well someone's in a better mood~ Had a bit of fun did you? Hehehe, anyway....Melody's been bugging me non-stop. Please take her off my hands for awhile..Please?"
Solomon pondered, "I'll have to see what sort of houses are for sale around here. Although I'm sure a few Covens will not be pleased to see me in their towns. Oh well~" Feeling a slight spike in power, he looked around, then to Holden, "Who are you talking to?" |
"I'll never tell my dirty little secret." Holden said with a smile. "Sure, just don't be surprised if Solomon yells at you." He said looking up to Solomon. "Well darling technically you are whoever this body is. So no one will know who you are, technically." He shaking his head like he was hearing music. "Someone.." He said with a smile. "I'm talking to Mystic." Holden said with a nod.
|
Mystic appeared a few feet in front of them, holding Melody like one would with an actual toy doll. "Now Solomon, no yelling alright? She can't cause you any trouble..and technically, Holden has a greater say in where she is to go over you; Jean-Pierre did give him 'guardianship' after all." He set Melody down, "You should be okay for about 3 hours or so, as long as you don't get into any trouble. Just have Holden contact me, I'll keep my telepathic link in his brain. Okay?"
Melody nodded, 'Thank you Mystic. I'm sorry for bothering you a lot.' She turned to face Solomon and Holden, 'Does he know sign language?' Solomon stared a bit, "What happened to..your hair? You don't seem like the hair cut kind of guy." He looked down to Melody, "I do, but I haven't used it in hundreds of years, so I might be a bit rusty." Mystic sighed, "I'd ask if it was really that noticeable, but I already know it is. Well, long story short, something got stuck in my hair near my shoulders, so I had to cut it all off." He bowed a bit, tilting his hat and disappearing. |
Holden knelt down, 'If he messes up I will beat him up. Ok?' He signed with a wink. He waved to Mystic but noticed that he was already gone. He smiled and picked her up, "So how has your training been going?" Holden asked as he put his other arm around Solomon's waist.
|
Solomon was mildly uncomfortable, but he smiled nonetheless, for Holden, "You can only try, Holden. Now come on, I think Anne's done making supper."
Melody smiled a bit, 'Pretty good. I think I've got this whole walking business down. If only I could talk..' She frowned for a second, then smiled again, 'Hey, he hasn't yelled at me yet. Maybe he's not so mad anymore?' |
"Yes darling~" Holden said in a singsong tone as he walked with Solomon to the kitchen. "Well that's good. And I'm sure you will be talking in no time." He said with a smile. 'Maybe.' Holden signed still smiling.
|
Solomon was about to dryly comment on how she would never be able to speak in that body, but decided to not dampen the mood. "From the smell of it, chicken soup..." He led Holden into the dinning room and pulled out a chair for him, "I'm assuming you don't eat Melody?"
She shook her head as Solomon addressed her, I cannot...' She turned and opened her mouth, revealing there was just a slight indent inside. She touched it with her finger before closing her mouth, 'But thank you for asking.' |
"From what I can smell, it smells fantastic." Holden said as he sat down. He quickly pulled out the chair next to him and set Melody down in it. He leaned his head back and looked up at Solomon with a smile, he mouthed "Thank you for being nice to her." He leaned his head back down and looked at Melody, 'So what did you put in Mystic's hair?' Holden asked with a smile.
|
"I try Holden." "I'll go get it then. I might have to try some myself if it's smelling this good~" He headed off into the kitchen.
Melody chuckled slightly, 'I'm not sure to tell you the truth. It was green, it stunk, and it glowed. He wasn't too happy. At least he has the luxury of growing his hair..Mine's just a wig sown onto my head.' She tugged at it lightly then folded her hands in her lap. |
Holden smiled as Solomon left the room. 'Ya..' He said with a chuckle. 'Even though it's a wig, it is a very beautiful color.' He said as he tucked some of Melody's hair behind her ear. He smiled and adjusted her headdress. 'There beautiful.' Holden said tapping her nose with his index finger.
|
She smiled slightly, looking up at him. Before she could speak, Solomon had come back and set a bowl in front of Holden. 'Oh my that looks amazing. I wish I could taste it.'
Solomon sat down after giving Holden his spoon, "It's some sort of chicken noodle soup, I don't know I wasn't really listening to her. She said it was a Mexican recipe." |
Holden smiled and looked to Solomon. "We need to work on your listening skills." He said patting Solomon's knee. He blew on the soup and took a slurp. His taste buds were thrown through a loop, "This is really good." Holden said as he took another slurp, but quieter this time.
|
Solomon nodded, after chewing the piece of chicken he fished out with his spoon, "Another reason I'm glad I'm a vampire~ I can eat all the food she cooks and not regret it~" He chuckled, letting the soup cool a bit before eating a few more spoons. "I'm sorry to eat in front of you like this Melody. I'm sure Mystic and Azriel will figure something out. They're smart."
She nodded with a slight frown, 'It's alright Solomon...I'm the one who's sorry. It's my fault that Holden got hurt...and then he was weakened when he was attacked. I so sorry...and I know this isn't the place to talk about this, but I had to make sure I apologized before Mystic came to pick me up.' |
Holden let the spoon go and smack against the bowl. He let out a deep sigh, "Its not your fault Melody, nor is it Solomon's, Alicia's, Hayden's, Jason's or Amanda's. It's mine." He said rubbing his hands on his pants, trying to calm down. "If I wouldn't of..." He trailed off taking a deep breath. Holden shook his head and went back to eating his soup.
|
Solomon closed his eyes with a sigh, "It's done and over with Melody. Nothing can change what happened...but, I appreciate the apology." He smiled slightly, putting his free hand on Holden's knee giving it a slight squeeze, "At least smile for her."
Rather than argue, she simply nodded. She was rather relieved to hear Solomon 'accept' the apology. She smiled a bit, sitting up straight, 'Is it okay if I steal Holden for the few hours I'm here? I'll promise to keep him out of trouble.' She looked up to Solomon, hopeful. He shrugged, "If he'd like to, I don't mind." |
Holden weakly smiled, "There isn't much we can do. We could go for a walk, but I'm not sure what state we are in." He said scratching his head a little bit. He ate the rest of his soup, "But if you want to do something Melody, let me know." Holden said with a smile.
|
"We're in Wisconsin Holden, about an hour or so West of Janesville." He finished off his soup, savoring the memory of the taste.
Melody tilted her head, 'Is there a doll shop near by? Or a seamstress? I've been in this dress since...forever...and I'm sick of just wearing one dress. But..I want to do something you'd like. Or we could..just sit outside again. That was nice.' Solomon pondered a bit, "You'd have to ask Seth or Sean about that Melody. I haven't been here in years." |
Suddenly Seth walked in holding a rather expensive looking bottle of scotch. "Damn people. Yelling at me." He mumbled as he took a swig from the bottle. He sat down and noticed that Holden, Melody, and Solomon where there. He pulled out something from his pocket and poured it into the scotch bottle. He took another swig and looked at Holden, "What did you need to know? And I would say ask quick because this little thing I put in here acts quick." Seth said stammering over his words.
"How can you be drunk? Vampires couldn't get drunk last time I checked." Holden said looking at Solomon. "Is there a doll shop near here or something?" He asked looking at Seth. "Camelia gave me a potion." Seth said as he started sobering up. "Damn. She lied to me, she said this would last for sixty minutes not sixty seconds. Sorry, yes there is." He said shaking his head. "In Mukwonago, about and hours dive from here." He said as he went to take another swig, but decided against it. Suddenly the bottle disappeared, and a bottle of water was in his hand. He opened it and took a swig, "Now you could drive there if you want." He said pulling out his keys. "Oh and the is a city that is about an hour and a half north of Mukwonago, it's called Fond du Lac. I say stop there to, it's quite nice." Seth said sliding the keys to Holden. Holden listened to Seth, and grabbed the keys when they came to him. He suddenly got directions to every place in Wisconsin. "Thanks." He said rubbing his head. "Yup no problem, now if you'll excuse me I am off to kill some people." |
Solomon stood, grabbing the bowls and taking them to the kitchen. "You two have fun."
Melody smiled looking to Holden, 'If you wanted to do something else, I understand.' |
'No we'll go, there isn't much else for me to do. Holden said with a smile. 'Just one second Melody.' He said as he stood up. He walked into the kitchen, "Solomon." He said leaning on the counter. "I just wanted to say that I love you and I will see you soon.' He said kissing him on the lips. He smiled and walked back to the dining room, 'Ready to go?' Holden asked as he picked Melody up.
|
She nodded, scooting down from the chair while she waited for him to return. She nodded as she wrapped her arms around his neck to hold herself steady. After she was stable,s he let go for a moment, 'When we get there, I'm going to have to pretend I'm just a doll..aren't I?'
|
"I don't know, we are going to have to see." Holden said as he opened the front door. "But I will try as hard as I can to make sure no one can tell." He said with a smile. He walked into the garage and put Melody in the passenger seat. He got into the drivers seat, "Well, you all set?" Holden asked as he started the car.
|
She buckled her seat belt and nodded, 'I am. I'm going to have to, I mean, I obviously don't look like a 'normal' girl.'
|
Holden nodded agreeing, even thought he didn't want to. "Hayden? Is there anyway you could like make Melody look human to people?" He asked as he backed out of the driveway.
|
"I'd have to be withing direct contact with her the entire time, and it uses a lot of power. Your demon friends will think of something, don't worry."
Melody shrugged, 'I suppose that's okay. As long as they don't touch me.' |
"Ok." Holden said with a small pout. "I'll make sure they don't touch you." He said with a smile.
"Ok, so you got that down? You don't want your two half's to meet up." Sean said with a nod. "Now I know you know how to change your appearance. But do you know how to turn into an animal?" Sean asked crossing his arms. Alicia smiled, "Ya I got it." She said. "No I don't, sorry." She said shaking her head. "Well here you go." Sean said putting his hand on Alicia's head. |
Serus sighed heavily, pacing the demolished room with her hands clenched tightly at her sides. She had been blocking Seth and Jaelynn from sensing her location since she arrived at her old, old human home. She flopped down onto the hardwood floor, closing her eyes with another sigh. What was she going to do? She couldn't apologize; it was Jaelynn's fault to begin with. With an irritated growl, she sat up, her hair falling forward as she looked at the dirty old floor.
After about a half hour of sitting there, she finally contacted Seth, "I'm sorry to have shoveled the Council onto you like that Seth. I..I don't know what came over me.." She let herself fall back again, starting up at the sky; as the roof had long since caved in and been cleared out. |
"Gah! It's ok Serus." Seth said as he swooped up his katana. "I told you to behave, but no you didn't listen." He said to the dead bodies on the floor. He fell to his knees holding his abdomen. He teleported to Serus, when he landed by Serus he made the house he was just in explode. "Well we can say bye to the Smith coven." He said pushing his ribs back into place. "They didn't like the fact that you are 'on vacation'. So I had to show them that the council wont take their bullshit." He said looking at Serus. "Oh and here is your watch." Seth said handing the blood covered watch to Serus.
|
She opened her eyes, glancing to it, "I can't have it unless Jaelynn says so. Remember? I renounced my Coven." She sat up, then stood after a moment, dusting herself off, "I've been meaning to take care of those guys anyway..."
|
"I guess." Seth said with a sigh as he put the watch back into his pocket. "I'm surprised I'm not hurt more, those little fuckers are really fast. Faster then when the twins were younger." He said with a shiver. "Well. You want to come home with me?" Seth asked as he stood up, most of his wounds were healed.
|
She sighed, "I suppose...I've seethed enough." She took his hand, teleporting them to their room in the Manor in Wisconsin. She flopped down on the bed, face first. "I just don't understand what Jae's doing..." her voice was muffled by the sheets.
|
Seth grabbed a shirt out of the closet, "Our populations are growing too fast. About fifteen people are being turned every day here in the states." He said as he took off his shirt. "She is trying to thin out our numbers here in the states. I talked to Caroline, and she said she had to do this thirty years ago." He said putting on his clean shirt. "It's the way things need to be done." Seth said grabbing a pair of pants.
|
"But she has to get out approval first! She can't just go around at night killing any vampire she sees! We have politics for a reason Seth! Some days..I kind of wish you never found me. I would've never gotten involved in all of this crap. I'd be working full time at the most macabre carnival in the world and enjoying it. I'd grow old, die and that'd be it for me." She rolled over, "Other days, I'm so thankful to have my old life back; and the kids. I just..can't decide."
|
"I know Serus! But we can't just go and throw a meeting and say wear gonna kill hundreds of vampires." Seth said raising his voice. "Serus, you would be bored with that life and you know it." He said sitting on the little couch in front of the bed. "Our life is a little boring, but at least we have the kids." He said with a smile. Seth sighed as he laid back on the bed.
