When he had motioned Rune to follow him, Luck dropped himself down the carpeted stairs.
In the kitchen he took out two bowls, a carton of milk, and three cereal boxes: one box had chocolate flavored cereal, another was plain corn flakes, and the last one had marshmallow candies in them. Luck poured a bowl of the marshmallow cereal for himself at random, wondering what Rune would pick.

Rune followed Luck down to the kitchen, a little surprised at the choice he had. He instantly went for the chocolatey one, pouring some into the other bowl on the counter, and added some milk to it, before sitting st the table to eat.

Finding that he had poured the marshmallow cereal for himself, Luck kept his cereal dry. He didn't particularly find candy in milk very enjoyable. Seeing Rune had immediately taken the chocolate cereal, he grinned. "You like chocolate?" He asked.

Putting away the milk and cereal boxes, Luck pulled out two spoons from the kitchen counter, handing one to Rune before sitting himself at the side of the table opposite the other boy.

Rune nodded, smiling a bit. "Yeah... And I havent had this cereal for a few years.... Used to be my favorite." He replied, taking a bite when given the spoon.

"Used to be?" Luck asked, "Do you have a different favorite now?"
He chewed on a spoonful of cereal, not really tasting it. Cereal was always rather bland to him, as with nearly everything he ate.

He shrugged slightly. "My father just doesn't buy it for me... Always used to be mum that would bring it home." He said, not admitting that he rarely ate breakfast... Or any meal, really.

Luck chewed on another spoonful of cereal in thought. "You can take that box if you'd like. My family buys whatever's on sale so the cereal we get is random."

Rune shook his head. "It's alright..." He said. His father would probably just throw it out on him.

Luck shrugged, "Well, alright." He finished off the rest of his cereal and ran the bowl under water at the sink. "Toss me yours when you finish," he said. "Then I'll show you the way to school."

Rune finished his cereal quickly, drinking the leftover milk which had turned chocolatey, before handing his bowl to Luck. He'd brought his backpack down with him when they left the bedroom, so he was all set to go when Luck was.

Finished rinsing the bowls, Luck propped them up on the dish rack and headed out the door with a "Come on" in Rune's direction. He closed the door behind them and started for the subway.

"You don't have a card do you?" He asked on the way.

Rune shook his head, following Luck. "My house is close enough to the school that I can walk... And I walk anywhere else I need to go. I don't have money to waste on such things..." He said, shrugging a bit.

((By the way, are we keeping track of the weekdays xD? Also, my writing's super dry and boring right now because I have no clue what to write :x))

"Alright, I'll swipe you in."

A few more blocks and they entered the subway station. With the train just arriving, Luck tugged on Rune's wrist and pulled them inside the car before the doors closed.

Rune kept close to Luck, slightly nervous around so many strangers. He squeaked a bit when his wrist was grabbed and he was essentially dragged onto the train. "So, how far is it to school?" He asked, looking around and finding them two seats next to each other so they could sit.

((Um.... Apparently not..?))

((Okay..I think this is the third day. Probably. How about make this Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday of -insert month here- at -insert date here- in -insert year here-))

Sitting down, Luck shrugged, "A few stops. Once it starts saying Oak street we're there."

He looked at Rune, "Do you normally use the subway?"

Rune shook his head. "I usually walk to school, or anywhere else I need to go..." He said, looking around a bit before his eyes landed back on the blonde beside him. He hadn't taken the subway since he was little, and then he'd been with his mother and little sister.

Luck watched as Rune looked around. He didn't have anything to see himself, having seen all the ads countless times, and having long followed the unspoken code of not speaking to strangers on the subways.

The subway made a stop: *ding* "This is, Acorn Avenue. The next stop is, Oak street. Please beware the closing doors." *ding*

"It's the next stop," Luck remarked.

((Maybe we can make it friday? And... Sometime in the fall, either october or early november...))

Rune nodded, shifting slightly in his seat. His eyes flicked around at the other passengers slightly. He could feel his anxiety creeping up on him. Thankfully theirs was the next stop. A few more minutes, then he'd be free, topside, in the fresh air again.

((Oh wow, I nearly forgot I asked that, woops. Okay, Friday, 6th November, XXX1))

Luck glanced oddly at Rune, as he watched the boy shifting in his seat. "Hey, is something the matter?" He asked. The train was starting to slow down. They were nearly at Oak Street.

He shook his head a bit, fidgeting slightly. "No, I... I'm just no big on enclosed spaces..." He said softly, flushing slightly at the admission.

"Alright," Luck said, "It's alright." He looked over at the side of the car. "It's pretty easy to get out if you want. The doors at the end open. Though it's quite loud out there."

The subway ground to a halt and the doors opened with a *ding* "This is, Oak Street."

"Come on, let's go."

Rune nodded, getting up as soon as the train stopped, heading for the exit with Luck. The sooner he got aboveground, the better, in his opinion.

Walking up the stairs, Luck noted that Rune was getting noticeably more relaxed. He wondered if Rune was claustrophobic, and if claustrophobic people found the underground an enclosed space. Personally, the underground was as much open air as the above for him.

Walking a little ways, he approached the front of the school.

Once they reached the top of the stairs, Rune took a deep breath, much more relaxed. It wasn't just the closed in-ness of the train, it was all the people, and the smell, too. He followed Luck towards the school, going up the steps to the front door. "So... D'you wanna meet up st lunch and go over those math notes again?" He asked, fidgeting slightly.

Friday, 6th November, XXX1

"That'd be great, see you in art class." Luck replied as he made his way through the double doors and walked over to his locker. Throwing in a couple of books and tossing out some others, he briskly walked into art class and sat at a seat by the doors. It was still early, since they had gotten up on time--he left enough time on his alarm for snoozing, usually.

Rune nodded, a small smile on his face as he headed for his own locker. He grabbed his art kit, and the books for his English class and his gym clothes, and headed for the art room.

Luck absently admired the wood grain of the classroom art table as he waited for people to stream in once it was five minutes before classes began.

Sure enough, at 8:03, the first group of classmates came in. The teacher was late, however. Sometimes that happened--especially during the first few classes.

Rune looked around as he walked in, not surprised their teacher was missing. He sat at his usual table, pulling out his sketchbook and got started on a piece he'd been working on for a while.

Luck pulled out several pieces of colored paper and made paper airplanes as he waited for the teacher along with the rest of the class. He tossed his planes in a few directions, and waited for the ensuing chaos.

The first kid he threw it at ignored it, but soon no one knew who was throwing what, and the teacher stepped in to a mess of crumpled paper balls.

Giving them a look, the teacher said, "Settle down, continue your work from last class."

Rune had hunched in on himself when the paper war began, trying to focus on his work even before the teacher got there. He relaxed slightly once she arrived, and the class began to settle, focusing on his work... Momentarily, at least, before he flipped the page and began doodling.

Luck glanced at his work from the previous class. Boring. He'd rather finish it in one quick go then move onto something more interesting.
"Like what?" One classmate had fired back when he mentioned this out loud.
"Who cares what." He'd replied.

By the middle of the period he'd finished coloring in the work. It was messy, but plausible. It wasn't as if he had great artistic sensibilities in the first place. It'd looked like he'd put in hard work for being diligent and just having the handicap of a non-artistic fellow. He handed it in.

Rune glanced up from his sketchbook when Luck walked past, smiling faintly before turning back to his doodles. He was satisfied enough with the work he'd managed for their project last class, and would just hand it in afterwards. His emotions were different now, and he felt if he tried to work on it, he'd ruin it.

He yawned softly, setting his sketchbook on the table. One hand propping up his head. He kept doodling, not paying attention to the class around him.

((I feel like I'm losing my feel for what kind of character Luck is D:. Result is no plot ideas. Granted, he was never really crystallized, but still ><'))

Taking a piece of paper from the stack, Luck frowned darkly as he wondered how long he felt like playing the "nice guy." You are what you make yourself appear to others, he'd always believed. He looked over at Rune who was doodling, his head down. He wondered if he should start bullying the boy again, before he felt a painful churning in his heart and swallowed, then turned away.

He walked back to his table and harshly drew a long line down the middle. Then sighed, and flipped it over. There was the cliff on the right. That circle would be a moon on the left. And there was a figure on that cliff. And a large abyss before the moon. A bird drawn wrong was falling in the air. Another one was flying to replace it.

He tore up the page when the bell rang.

Gym now.

Rune got up when the bell rang, placing his school-safe sketchbook on the teachers table, open to the page he'd worked on yesterday. He left the room, heading for his locker before heading down to the gym. He wondered if he could fake sick or some injury well enough to just sit out, and not have to go into the changeroom.

Luck dropped himself down the stairs, greeting Blitz as they passed.

He threw on a few clothes in the changeroom before heading into the gym, shooting hoops out of boredom.

Class didn't start for another few minutes, since he'd gotten there rather quickly.

Rune made it to the gym, noticing immediately that they had a substitute. Normally that would be a good thing... However, he knew this sub, and she didn't take any excuse without a note to accompany it. He groaned slightly, and headed for the changeroom, knowing he wasn't going to get out of class today.

He slipped into one of the stalls in the bathroom, changing out of his jeans into a pair of track pants and a slightly baggy tshirt, giving a slight whine as he noticed a particularly handshaped bruise on his upper left arm. No way that would go unnoticed. He simply shook his head, making sure his hair was tied back tight, then headed out into the gym.

Luck looked over at Rune, wondering at the boy's long hair. How many males wore their hair long these days? It was cute, he had to admit.

His gaze traveled down to the offending mark on Rune's left arm. Luck narrowed his eyes and let the ball--which he had just tossed in the direction of the hoop--drop to the floor.

"Where'd that come from?" He said to Rune, his tone dark as he was almost certain of the answer.


((Uhh, where did that mark come from? I don't think it was Luck since mostly I remember him messing with his earlobe. But for his dad it would have been yesterday morning or before that...))

((His father, yes, the night before yesterday. Wearing long-sleeved tops all the time, Rune didn't notice just how low it was- plus he sat out the day before, remember? So he wouldn't have noticed))

Rune fliched slightly at Luck's dark tone, looking away nervously and shrugging slightly. He knew he shouldn't avoid answering the blonde, but there were so many people around that could overhear.

Luck knitted his brows, "Bastard." He muttered under his breath.

Oh, if only he were a bit older. He sighed and turned away. "You don't need to answer. But this kind of thing-" He shook his head. Oh, how he wished to do something, but what? Bullying in school was easy. Bullying outside? No way. How? Damn.

Rune simply offered the blode a small smile, really just a slight twitch of his lips, in thanks for understanding and not pressing the issue. He knew he'd have to do something about it eventually, but he had no idea who he could turn to for something like this. "I know..." He said softly.
