But yes, it's an interactive game. |
It's not Flash? o.O I only know a tiny bit of java, but other than those two I don't know what kind of coding is used for a game like that. x'D And interactive games are awesome! I just hope its not going to be mindless clicking like the event I'm currently doing. ^^;
It's not MINDLESS clicking, you actually have to aim. :P Now, I won't claim it's a particularly deep game.
It's written using HTML and Javascript. (It's not quite HTML5, closer to HTML4 really, but the upshot is that it works in pretty much any browser with a keyboard to push the buttons. We INTEND to make it tablet/phone-friendly one of these days.) |
Ah, I didn't know you could make games in HTML. XD And let me explain a 'battle' sequence for you in this other game.
Wild pet x attacks! Wild pet x uses generic attack. (didn't feel like using actual attack name) Wild pet x hits! Wild pet x deals XXX damage. Your pet attacks! Your pet uses generic attack. Your pet hits! Your pet deals XXXX damage. And you'd have to click through each of these lines. =.= Now you know why I say 'mindless' clicking. >_>; Edit: And that's only when you're fighting one wild pet, imagine what its like when fighting two of them. >.< |
Well, you can't write games in HTML. You can display stuff on the screen (e.g. websites) with HTML. It's up to Javascript to be able to make that display do stuff.
Oh geez. If I were to write a game like that, it would at the VERY least include larger chunks! That should have been at most two clicks there, and MAYBE one. I'm also not likely to have such things be non-interactive -- I would at least give you a "fight/special/item/run" option when it's your turn! |
Oh, they do have those options before you submit your action, but that's the 'battle sequence' when they are attacking, and you have to click to get to each next line in that. And people wonder why I don't fit the pet anymore when trying to get the currency and stuff, just takes too freakin long! DX
Ah, yeah. That user experience is bad enough when you're mashing the A button on your controller. Trying to do that with a mouse is even more annoying.
Yep. x'D Now you know why I mentioned it, don't like having that kind of experience with a game. x'D Which is why I've basically given up on pokemon, I got Black/White 2 and Y and I have yet to even get all the gym badges. x'D

That would be so interesting to see. XD Are the old items re-released or is it new items each year? :o
We try not to re-release items in order to keep older users coming back for more.
Ah, okay. Was just wondering since I've never participated. XD That means if I ever want old items its going to be expensive. ^^;
Well, the old Nox items are pretty darn common (people had dozens of them before we made it possible to sell them to the shop), pretty sure you can get those cheap.
Oh? I'll have to take a peek in some of the shop threads and see, though right now the site I'm complaining about has turned me into a pumpkin gathering zombie. =.=;
You'll have pumpkins to gather here too!
Yeah, but its not mindless clicking. XD So I'm looking forward to how this event is going to be. :3 Is there a list somewhere of all the events that are usually done on this site?
