"Whatever you want to call it then, I'm just glad you're not afraid of me." He nuzzles Vincent's neck affectionately, thinking this would be one of those scenes in a movie or show where ridiculously silly lovey-dovey music would be playing in the background. Finally he pulls away to give Vincent some space, though it also reveals that his ache is stronger than ever at the same time. Aching to the point where its almost painful for Don, which he has no idea how he'll get pants on so he can take Vincent home without causing himself even more pain.
After turning off the water he grabs a towel and hands it to Vincent, "Don't want you to catch a cold after all." |
Vincent shivers at the nuzzling. He will probably be a bit more cautious around Don, but maybe that's all. He's still blushing. "Sh...um...you wanna take care of that? I can like go hide in your room or something until you're done." He says after taking the towel from Don, focusing on drying his hair first. Everything else will dry fairly quickly on its own....his hair takes forever.
|
Sighing Don takes his towel and begins to dry his hair as well, "Guess I scared you then since you want to hide in my room. At least you're not scared enough of me to not want me around you. I probably need to work more on communicating with people, that's my problem I think..." Since he knows it bothers Vincent he hides his saddened eyes in the towel while he dries his hair off, not wanting to upset Vincent. There was something he actually wanted Vincent to do for him, but after what he had done to Vincent he was too scared to ask it of him.
|
"I'm just no big on watching people take care of certain needs, that's all." Vincent says. And if he's there, it might not get taken care of and all. "Most people need to work on that too." He says. "So you're not alone." He doesn't like the use of the word scared, he'd prefer wary, but he guesses it's close enough really. "So....what're we doing to do now?"
|
"Well, we need to get ready to leave so that I can take you home, it is getting late after all. Mom seemed to be distracted with typing earlier, so it should be fine for you to head back to the room on your own." Now that he's done drying his hair he wraps the towel around his hips to cover him, though its still noticeable how he's feeling.
"Though to be honest what I really want is for you to help me out, but since I've already done some wrong towards you I don't want to ask you to do it..." He blushes a bit as he looks away from Vincent. "I mean I can understand if its a bit much to ask of you after everything that I've done. I just don't want to force you like I did earlier..." |
"Yeah, that's true." And Vincent didn't exactly get his homework done or anything so he still needs to finish that as well. He frowns a bit as he thinks about all the homework really, but he just shakes his head, trying to not think about it for the moment.
He blushes at Don's words. "What would you want me to do? Not that I'm saying I would." He wants to make that last bit clear, but Don did do it for him, so maybe he would. Maybe. |
"Well...um...you could do like I did for you or you could...you know...with your mouth...it's so hard to say without trying to scare you off." Using his pointer finger he gestures what he means since he's tying to not force himself on Vincent, which he really wants to do again actually.
"But since this is new for both of us I can understand if you don't want to. After all I did force you..." Looking at the tiled floor he can't bring himself to look at Vincent, not if he didn't want to make things worse by repeating what he did earlier. |
Vincent is blushing bright red at his words and everything. He just shakes his head. "Considering earlier....I don't think it would be the best idea....I don't want that happening again." He's still sensitive and knows that soon enough, he'll be feeling sore. That'd just get worse if Don got too excited again. That's what he's thinking about. He just feels very awkward at this point, wrapping the towel around himself. "I'm just going to head to your room." He says before moving away to do that.
|
As soon as Vincent is gone he gently beats his head against the wall of the shower, "I totally blew that." While thinking about Vincent, he gets to work relieving the tension he has, having to use the towel to wipe himself off and grabbing his robe back up and tying it around himself.
Opening the door a crack just because he didn't want to frighten Vincent anymore by walking in if he was still changing, he pauses a moment to make sure Vincent is okay with him coming in. |
Vincent doesn't hate Don or anything, but after what happened earlier, well, he isn't sure how much he trusts Don's self control at the moment really. He just heads back to Don's room, getting clothes on, minus the articles that ended up in the pile due to strip physics. He just looks at door when Don opens it a crack. "You gonna come in? It is your room."
|
"Just wanted to make sure I wasn't walking in on you or anything. I have no idea how you would react if I were to do that." Opening the door wider he sees that Vincent hasn't taken back the stuff that's his.
"Um...to be completely honest I wasn't going to keep your stuff, so you can take it back. Besides I think my mom might give me the evil eye if I didn't give you back your clothes at least." He blushes a bit as he looks off to the side away from Vincent. |
Vincent shrugs a bit. "We were just in a shower together, it is a bit late to be embarrassed about nudity." He says. And that's not even including the other thing. So it isn't a big deal.
Vincent snorts a bit at his words. "What would you do with my clothes anyway? I don't think they'd fit you..." He says before starting to put them on as well. |
Don doesn't say anything as he gets dressed as well, tucking his wallet and all back into his clothes. Grabbing his coat from the back of the chair he quickly puts it on to ward off the night chill.
"Do you need anything to cover up with? I don't know if you brought a sweater or something with you or not." He begins going through his closet looking for something Vincent can put on if he needs it. |
Vincent just lets the awkward keep on going, checking his bag to make sure everything important is still in it. It's not that he think Don would take it..it's just that Vincent might forget he took it out and put it somewhere.
"Ah...I didn't bring anything. I didn't even think of grabbing anything actually." He frowns a bit. He should've thought about that, but usually he's home before now. He just watches Don with his head tilted a bit. |
Nodding to acknowledge that he heard Vincent he rumages in the closet a bit more and pulls out a zip-up hoodie he used to use when training for track and field in high school, though he had ended up only doing that for a year.
"It might be a bit big, but this should do the trick for you," he tosses the hoodie to Vincent, figuring it was best not to get him sick with the chill after a shower. "It should be warm enough for at least the trip home. You can return later on or something, its an old hoodie and I don't really wear it. I just kept it for when I jog with the girls." |
Vincent catches it, looking at it a bit. He just smiles at Don. "Thank you." He says before putting it on, zipping it up. He doesn't care if it's big, any hoodies he has are big. It works well in his opinion. "It's comfortable." He says simply. "Lay down and get them to lay with you, you won't be cold." If he had a dog, it would end up being a lap dog, just a big one probably.
|
"I take it you mean the girls? Ha ha, true, but if I'm jogging I can't just randomly stop and do that, its actually bad for your heart and stuff. Found that out when I did track and field for a year, but I gave that up because I wasn't keen on doing almost noting but training." He motions for Don to follow him out to the car, checking his mom's room to see if she's moved or not on the way out of his room. Still hearing typing he goes into her room and taps her on the shoulder.
"Something up?" She takes the headphones off of one ear so she can listen but doesn't take her eyes off of what she's doing. "Just letting you know I'll be back, I'm taking Vincent home." |
Vincent tilts his head a bit. "Well, I really just meant if you were cold in general." He says. "I don't think I could do that...not in shape and I'm kind of lazy." He procrastinates a lot. At least until it's crunch time pretty much. Unless he really likes what he's doing. He just pads after Don, staying outside the room, waiting for Don to come out and all.
|
"Alright," she moves the headphones back on and continues her work, Don turning and leaving the room at the same time.
"Just wanted to let my mom know that we were leaving." He heads down stairs and into the garage, unlocking his car and getting in the driver seat. Don waits for Vincent to put his seat belt on then starts the car and hits the button to open the door. He backs out of the drive way and takes the road back towards the college. "So where is it that you live?" |
Vincent nods a bit. "That's alright." If he was living with his parents, he'd probably do about the same. But he doesn't, so yeah. He follows after him, getting in the car, buckling the belt and all. "I like your car." He might've already said that but whatever, he's saying it again. He just starts giving him directions to his place, it's small apartment place. With even smaller apartments.
|
"Thanks, my parents got it as a present for when when I graduated high school, though I'm making the payments on it instead of them. Let's just say there was a lot of yelling that day, my parents wanted to pay for the whole thing to be honest." He chuckles a bit at the memory, making the turns when Vincent indicates. After a time they make it to the complex, Don eying the buildings.
"I'm going to go with you to your apartment, I've heard some bad things about this area..." Unbuckling his belt he gets out and locks the door behind both of them, following Vincent to his apartment. |
"Well, at least you can afford it?" Vincent says. If he had to pay for a car, he'd end up with a toy one at best. "It could be worse." It could be better too, he won't argue that.
"Huh? Okay, but I've never had anything bad happen here." He says simply, unbuckling and getting out of the car. "Maybe they just realize that I have nothing to take really so they don't waste their energy or something." He says, snorting a bit. |
"Well, either way, they might find you to be a target eventually. I'd rather you not get mugged or something. I just hope the inside of your apartment is not as bad looking as the outside of it." Don decides that if Vincent's apartment is really bad he'll make Vincent stay over at his house in the guest room. But he won't be able to determine that unless he sees the apartment for himself.
|
"Well, unless they just want to beat the crap out of someone, I have nothing for them." Vincent says simply. He kind of shrinks on himself a bit, thinking about Don in his apartment. "I don't think it's bad." But neither does he think the outside looks too bad either so Don might have a different opinion. He just heads for his, unlocking the door and letting Don in first.
(I imagine something that is mostly empty, mainly due to him not having stuff, but he does his best to keep it clean, sweeping mopping and stuff) |
Don doesn't say anything i response to what Vincent says, he just thinks that Vincent seems to have it pretty rough in general. And then a dick like himself to top it all off, he's still kicking himself mentally about that.
Once Vincent has the door open he takes a step inside, flipping on the lights. Looking in the sink he sees a brown ring around the drain, damaged tiles on the floor and what looks like gnawed holes in the wall and some of the cabinets. "Please tell me you have some kind of pet rodent or something, because there are gnawed holes in your cabinets..." |
Vincent isn't trying to make Don feel horrible or anything. That's not his intentions at all. He just follows him in, closing and locking the door. It's a learned habit. He just watches Don as he inspects the place. "No, but if they're still here, they don't seem to mess with the food I have, so I'm not too worried about it." He makes sure to clean often just in case, making sure to leave out as little food as he can for them, but he isn't perfect. "Personally I think it's from an old infestation before me, but I'm not sure."
|
Grabbing a glass Don fills it with water, looking at the brown tint to it, "You know what, this could possibly be a health violation, the water shouldn't be that color. Which means its either rust, which is bad. Or its something else that could potentially be worse. I have a better idea." Heading back to the door he reaches for Vincent arm to take him back out with him.
"You're coming back home with me and staying in the spare bedroom, this place doesn't seem like it even meets the mandatory health codes." |
"I've been meaning to get one of those filter things....I don't use the water from that." Vincent would prefer to buy some bottled water instead of use that. "What? What're you doing?" He asks as he's grabbed and all, confused to what's going on. "I want to stay here. I'm paid up here. My stuff is here." This is home for now.
|
"I can easily take you to work and then back to my house after you get done work, so that's not a problem. And with all the stuff you seem to have it will most likely all fit in my car anyways, so that's no big deal. And filters are expensive and as a tenant you shouldn't have to do that, the manager or landlord should be having that taken care of. Look, my parents probably won't care, they are not home often anyways, so they will probably only ask that you help around the house and taking care of the girls. And of course keep up your studies, but that's to be expected." Don crosses his arms and sighs.
"I'm being completely serious here Vincent, there are health violations going on here and I'd much rather you at least just stay the night over at my place. Grab anything you need or all your stuff, I don't care, but I'm not leaving until you come back with me." |
Vincent just shakes his head, "I don't want to be a bother like that." From here, he can walk to where he needs to go and everything. So he doesn't have to bum rides unless it's really cold or something. "I don't want to be a bother on anyone." He says softly. That bothers him the most out of all this actually.
"Why are you being so stubborn about this?" He has to ask. |
"Well, if earlier was any indication, I really like you. And the fact that you're not really mad at me for what I did makes me like you even more. If someone had of done that to me I probably would have beat them to a pulp." He rubs his arm nervously, obviously now getting a bit uncomfortable.
"And you can lock the door for the room, my family lost the key for it years ago, but it can only be locked from the inside anyways..." |
Vincent starts blushing at his words. "Well, I could tell you liked me or something..." But that, in his mind, isn't enough to get a person to move in like that. Not that quickly at least. "I don't think I could beat you to a pulp even if I wanted to." He says softly.
"I guess I could stay for a few nights at least." He says softly before padding in to get some changes of clothes and his bath stuff shoved into a bag. |
He chuckles a bit when Vincent admits to probably not being able to beat him up and grins when he decides to stay over anyways. Don was half tempted to sweep him up in a hug but decides its probably best not to. Waiting by the door, he starts fidgeting since he'll have to figure out how to let his parents know about the situation. Once Vincent is done he leaves the apartment, waiting for Vincent to lock up. Then heads back to his car, opening up the back seat so that Vincent can throw his stuff back there.
"By the way, do you have a basic cellphone at least? In case someone needs to get a hold of you?" |
Vincent just puts his things in a smallish duffel bag quickly. Most of his stuff is clothes, some school supplies, and a netbook. He isn't leaving that here since he isn't staying. That's the only thing he has that might be barely worth stealing. Then he comes back. "I'm ready I guess." He says shrugging a bit. He just follows after Don, locking the door once they're out and just heads for the car. He puts hist stuff in the back before getting in the front and all.
"Ah...no, but not many people try to contact me anyway...." He shrugs a bit. |
"I thought most places wouldn't hire someone unless they had a form of contact in terms of a phone number?" This really surprises Don, since that's usually a requirement on job applications.
"If you want we can leave my number or something for the manager just in case they need to get a hold of you? It's up to you." |
"I have a wired phone. Those things still exist...and it's cheaper than a cell phone." Vincent says, shrugging a bit. "Mine doesn't look like a phone, it's shaped like a container of french fries." He says, smiling a bit. He liked it actually.
"Ah...I don't want him bothering you, I'll just call him sometime about everything." He says simply. |
"Alright then since you seem fine with it." Shifting into gear he drives away down the road back to his house, pulling into the garage which now has another car in it.
"Looks like my dad's home," he says as he gets out and closes the door. "You know your way to the guest room since its right down the hall from my room. I'm going to explain to my parents that you're going to be staying over for a bit, alright?" |
Vincent shrugs a bit. "He can get annoying at times, just like anyone really." He says with his bag in his lap.
"Ah...what's your dad like again?" He asks before getting out with his stuff. he just nods a bit, halfway following Don though. Now he feels a bit awkward being in his house like this and going to be staying for awhile. |
"My dad is pretty laid back, he's a musician that's in a band. That's him right there." He points out a man with long brown hair that's tied back in a pony tail, wearing a loose fitting light sweater and yoga pants. He's playing with the girls when they see him through the patio doors. Looking up he waves to Don and Vincent, quickly getting the girls off of him and coming inside.
"I see you've made a new friend, I'm James, Don's father." He holds his hand out to Vincent to shake, Don smiling since his dad is always a friendly guy. |
Vincent nods a bit, listening to Don, and looking over at the guy. He just smiles a bit as he plays with the animals. He does look laid back to Vincent at least. He just waves a bit when the other does. He just waits for a moment.
He smiles a bit, taking the offered hand. "I'm Vincent, nice to meet you." He says. |
