I tend to mute people the second they say something derogatory towards somebody else on the team. I used to try and talk them down but it would only work on occasion. I find that it's easier to win when that negative attitude simply falls on deaf ears.
I also applied for a summer internship at Riot yesterday! Hopefully they consider me. |
Nice! Hopefully they do and you get it! *crosses fingers*
As for me, I tend to just ignore them. Same as muting, but I guess if I want to see what they are saying, I can. Meh. |
I hope so too. I applied for an e-sports intern, and I'm working on my communications intern application today. They want a grad student, so I'm trying extra hard to convince somebody that I'm just as good or better.
I used to just ignore what they were saying, but I guess it kinda subconsciously gets to me. I end up feeling like I just want to lose quick and get the game over with so they stop yelling. Muting seemed to solve that for me. |
Whatever works for you. It's part of the game right now unfortunately whenever it pops up.
And nice, well.....best of luck! I'm sure they will definitely put you up there in consideration. |
I feel like implementing voice chat in the game would solve a lot of rage problems. It's easy to forget that there's another human being on the other end of that computer. Hearing somebody's voice makes people realize that the other players are actual people with feelings, and I bet a lot more people would tone it down if they could be reminded of that every once in a while.
|
It would, but at the same time look at games like CoD, MoH, and games/systems that already utilize voice chat, and see how it has "evolved". Sure, it makes it easier to recognize and remember that there is another person on the other end, but on the flip side is the fact that instead of typing it out and taking the time, you can now simply voice it and add all sorts of vulgarities and tone into it.

"Haha yes, this is true. I guess I am just a Grinch to the subject, since I dislike rude people.", Hatter chuckled, "As for me, I can not just ignore it. If they yell or abuse one of my team mate, I argue back. It really irks me when people don not understand how powerful their words are.". "Oh? Hope you get in Luci. I may be curious, what did you sign up for?",he asked. |

That's the position I already submitted to. It sounds like a really cool job that kindof covers a lot of different experiences. It would be fun because I would get to work on a lot of different things! I think the real problem with voice chat is reporting people who do abuse it. They could store the voice logs only for games where somebody was reported to save memory, but I still wouldn't want to listen to a whole 50 minute game while doing Tribunal. |
Yeah.....that would take a paid position for sure and probably just a section dedicated to listening to voice logs. Easy to do for chat logs (well, easier......)
Sounds like quite an interesting internship. |
I think voice would get escalated bans though... C: I like the idea but it's just hard to implement properly.
It sounds like an ADVENTURE! If they offered it to me, I'd have to check with my department to make sure it would count towards graduation. But it never hurts to apply! |
"Looks like a fun job, Lucid, I hope you get it.", Hatter smiled, "As for the topic of voice use in game, I do not think they would do that. People just use skype, along with the troubles of people cursing if young summoners are playing and such. It would be nice, if it would not be used wrong.". |
I need to play some more... i played last night as riven.... 2/3/1... rengar fed though but i survived each hit from enemy riven and eve... we won thanks to graves being awesome
|
"Do you play a lot of top-able lane character?", Hatter asked curious. |
Volibear, vi, riven, malphite, rengar sometimes, and singed... i think that is all but not too sure
|
"Sweet. Do you like any other roles?" |
